The Clement Payne Movement call upon the Caricom Secretariat to call a meeting of the Caribbean Heads of Government to impress upon Donald Trump, President of the United States of America and to Kim Jong Un, the Democratic Republic of North Korea President, to settle their differences by means of mediation.

The erratic statements by President Donald Trump, which if put into practice will cause the most devastation the world will ever know. Because of the borders of the Democratic Republic of North Korea and China, any error by America’s bombing of the Democratic Republic of North Korea could by error, cause collateral damage to the Republic of China

This will then put the two major countries of the world in confrontation with each and bring about annihilation not only of the United States and to the Chinese Republic but of all of Eastern Asia and North America among others.

The Caribbean Heads of Government need to make a serious approach to the United States of America and the United Nations Security Council to stop any further advancement by the US, the most powerful nuclear power in the world, from starting this war; either by action or a response to the Democratic Republic of North Korea infantile action.

    The Donald certainly has no time for small fry from tiny islands in the Third World. In any case, the US does not have to back down, so the other side will have to eat humble pie or suffer the consequences.

    In any nuclear exchange, the US can go it alone but doesn’t have to. It wiil get plenty of help from the UK, with Australia, Canada, Japan and South Korea pitching in as well. North Korea and China would be toast.

    Bring it on. We’re locked and loaded!

If the NSRL is causing havoc imagine the ripple effects and fall out from such a war. One set of tough as nails UN sanctions on Monday. As expected his support base wax poetic. The Caricom Secretariat is not needed here, for the world will not sit idly by and permit it’s destruction by these two.In any event that body has little clout in its own domain. What about the markets given the significant holdings of treasuries and private sector investments by China in the US?

    Substantively, the issue between North Korea and the USA demonstrates the coming to an end of Anglo-American Empire.

    The stinking British knowing this full well have already made a deal to be bankers to the Chinese. Hence Brexit etc. The Chinese will need tens of trillions of fake paper money for their massive Silk Road projects.

    On one hand we have a country that was not too long ago said to be unable to feed itself and on the other the ‘leading’ world country.

    But America has few levers of power over North Korea and must rely on China, its proximate rival, to do its bidding. This is weakness. And weakness could lead to the use of nuclear weapons.

    But China has its own interests in the Korean Peninsular. Interests which hardly intersect with those of the USA.

    Unfortunately for all of us two of the most arrogant, ignorant, belligerent men to have ever lived find themselves located at the top of the power centres in both countries.

    We would prefer that they challenged each other to a duel, on the White House lawn. Winner takes all. But we are hardly likely to be that lucky.

    More seriously, and we have made this point before, the nuclear powers have since 1967, by treaty, promised to denuclearize, and transfer non-nuclear weapons technology to the rest of the world.

    But there is nobody to hold them to account. And even the efforts of IAEA and other mechanisms have been used by nuclear weapons states to maintain a Damocles’ sword over the necks of the peoples of the world.

    Even the JCPOA agreed to with the Islamic Republic has been brought into question by Trump but Israel, Pakistan and India are allowed to operate outside international law, if there is any such thing. They all have illegal nuclear weapons.

    If Barbados can’t get the powers to surrender these dangerous weapons why would any boy on the street give the authorities his 32 or 45.

    The world can no longer avoid this duplicity – nuclear weapons for some rogue states and none for North Korea. Nuclear weapons states like Israel and the USA threatening non-nuclear weapons states and promising war. India and China on the brink of war which could turn nuclear because of territorial disputes.

    Of course these fundamental issues will never be addressed. Instead illegalities and entrenched lies will rule the day in media.

    In circumstances where the peoples of this world care not about disarming the USA and Russia, we would then support all other world nations having a similarly destructive capability. For us this is better than being constantly threatened and living on one’s knees.

    For we know with certainty that the USA will never attack anyone capable of defending one’s self. That it has used nuclear weapons before and intend to use them again, not only mini-nukes in battlefield conditions, but in large population centres. Destroying the world, if necessary, to maintain power.

    David asks about Asian geopolitics and China’s inventory of US Treasuries. As usual, David overestimates China’s standing. The PRC has merely $1T of US securities, less than Japan and only 5% of the total outstanding. Not a problem one way or the other.

    The American strategy of encircling China — with help from Australia, the Philippines, Japan, and South Korea, and with the tacit approval of Vietnam, has been unraveling for some time because of Trump’s trade policy, Duterte’s rebellion, and China’s aggressive navy.

    Nuclear war, however, would wreck the Chinese economy and guarantee American hegemony for another generation. Trump has very little to lose.

    99% of the time, possession of nuclear weapons by all sides involved in a dispute will prevent war. And it probably will in this case.

    But if it does not, the Western world will have the upper hand, at least for now. China knows this and is not pleased that Kim Jr is drawing so much attention to North Korea’s capabilities, which were supposed to be for defensive purposes only.

    Surprised that China has not found a way to remove Kim Jr. He is upsetting the applecart.

    Recall in October 2012 Obama’s approval rating was about 50%, Trump suggested, via Twitter, Obama should start a war if he wanted to improve his ratings.

    Additionally, as the only “bright boy” in this forum, Chad99999 should be not be surprised by the increase in Trump’s ratings, since his rhetoric against North Korea, because over the years US presidents usually GAIN an INCREASE in SUPPORT when issues of war arise.

    Chad99999 always BOASTS about reading information from academic sources. And as the only “bright boy” in this forum, I’m sure he would have read political scientist John Mueller’s 1973 paper entitled “Presidential Popularity from Truman to Johnson,” in which he utilized the “rally ‘round the flag effect/syndrome” as one of the four independent or predictor variables of presidential popularity.

    Political historians and scientists use the “rally ‘round the flag effect” to explain the SHORT-TERM INCREASE in POPULAR SUPPORT of a US president during periods of international crisis or threats of war.

    Chad99999 should also be aware that, to further explain the syndrome, Muller used the examples of President Franklin Roosevelt’s approval rating, whose approval rating was 72% prior to the Pearl Harbor attack and subsequently increasing to 84% in the days after the attack.

    I’m not surprised Chad99999 purposely refused to mention that, as indicated by the Gallup polls, President George H.W Bush’s approval ratings increased from 64% to 82% at the beginning of the 1991 Persian Gulf War; and George W.
