USA divided over the court decision to acquit Zimmerman –  Sky News

A black child walking to his father’s home in a gated community of Florida is gunned down with malice and forethought yet an all-white jury finds a murdering Hispanic-Jew not guilty by reason of self defense. This is not the America of the Jim Crow era. It is not the America of the slavery period. It is not the American of the Reconstruction epoch. It is Barack Obama’s America of 2013.

It took a public outcry to even get the racist government of the State of Florida to even charge the assailant in the first place, in what to most observers seemed a clear cut case for the arrest and charging of Zimmerman, police and District Attorney had to be brought under heavy public pressure for charges to be lodged in the first place. Aldon Maddox, of the Trawana Brawley case in New York, correctly predicted seven months ago that Zimmerman would be freed. How could this be? What is the nature of the American judicial system that a great but illegally disbarred attorney could foretell events with precision.

Forgetting the institutionalization of racism in the USA and especially in the Southern States we still have a black population that is yet to enjoy equal (human) rights, not civil. For if you are black in Obama’s American and even being less than 13 percent of the population, Blacks males have a 90% higher chance of being stopped and frisked in America’s major cities. Blacks under 30 are 4 to 5 times more likely to be unemployed in Obama’s America. Blacks have a higher morbidity rate than whites. Blacks suffer disproportionately higher incidence of HBP, diabetes, AIDS etc. The negative socio-economic indicators all point in a similar direction and sometimes include other non-white population segmentations. These indicators have all worsened under Obama.

The internecine wars fought by Blacks on Blacks, Blacks on Hispanics, Hispanics on Hispanics for drugs and turf in America’s inner cities has been eating away at the fabric of the American nation for decades. When we add 300 million guns to the mix we have a near civil war. Not that this people who ‘founded’ the country possessed any higher moral standards than seen today. The Irish, the Jews, the Italians, the Russians and other major national groupings have, from the very beginning, sought to get ‘theirs’ by the establishment of a range of unlawful activities. It is this history that haunts the American of Barack Obama and will condemn him as utterly useless to the community from which he pretends to come.
This is the context in which a political action committee (ALEC) can engineer, in 25 states, the passing of conceal and carry legislation, called Stand Your Ground. These fixers represent the gun manufacturing companies. Any day on the streets of any inner city any number of guns could be bought for as little as US$150.00 each. The irony is that the Florida court never seemed to consider that Martin had the same rights as Zimmerman to stand him ground. He was Black and implicitly, in its mind, could not be considered equal. It was Zimmerman, in their minds, with the rights to carry a gun, approach Martin because he was Black, pretend to be a quasi-cop, repeatedly ignored the specific instructions of the 911 dispatcher and initiated a belligerent confrontation with Martin. This cold hearted murder, Zimmerman, is yet to show any sense of remorse for killing a teenager.

To say that the Florida prosecutors were inept is an understatement. Racism could be another explanation for the prosecutors treating Martin as the aggressor and Zimmerman as the aggrieved party in their weak defense. Seems everybody wants to pretend that Martin was approach for reasons other than that he was Black. Few want to say that had roles be reversed those same prosecutors, judge and jury would have found ways to bring a guilty verdict.

The lives of Black people in Obama’s America are even more expendable. This is the same Barack Obama for whom Blacks are his most reliable voting bloc. Yet, Blacks have received nothing from Obama while he will expend lots of political capital, in a faux project, to further entrench the Democratic Party within the Hispanic community.

The right wing Tea Party types, like Alec Jones, are very comfortable seeing this matter within a false context. Jones lacks any sense of history that is not predicated on white domination. His outfit prefers to see this as an opportunity to protect gun rights and locate this human tragedy within a misconceived coming race war as part of some scheme. The Martin family has rightly steered clear of a characterization that avoids justice as a legal concept.

The world can see vast contradictions within the American body politic. It should tell us that the historical issues are still raw. Martin joins a long list of innocent young Black American males that have died in tragic circumstances through state sponsored murder, most often at the hands of the police. But even when it is not a police illegal shooting other arms of the criminal justice industrial complex step in to make the results the same. How else can we explain the modern slave system were 80% of all people in American jails are either Blacks or Latinos? Let’s revisit the forces at work within these phenomena.

We may ignore racism all we want but it will never go away because we simply pretend it doesn’t exist!

  1. Look…….yes i know, the then barbados government under then AG mia mottley commissioned them to build the prison, they themselves are in jail and some who were involved in kickbacks should be in jail themselves………….

What is happening in the US is now an epidemic……..check this out..

  2. All should be in the new St. Philips prison: Owen Arthur, Mia Mottley and Dale Marshall. It’s a wonderful life in Barbados. Those three (Owen Arthur, Mia Mottley and Dale Marshall) would not have survived the United States FBI or IRS (Uncle Sam).

Cracker is a derogatory word for white man. Probably had its genesis in slave days as in –cracking the whip. You are a Cracker! Never heard that lingo up by The Crane!

RG in her testimony said she had warned TM that GZ could be a sexual predator! May well have caused TM to wait in hiding and beat the crap out of GZ thereby leading to TM’s death! No evidence for that though.

AFTER 60 YEARS ON THIS EARTH AS A BAJAN BORN AND RAISED IN BAJAN APARTHEID, IT IS CLEAR THAT WHITE BAJANS STILL BELIEVE THAT A WHITE MAN CAN DETERMINE THAT A BLACK BOY IS A CRIMINAL STALK HIM AND SHOOT HIM IN THE HURT.

IF AS A BLACK YOU BELIEVE THAT THIS SHOULD NOT BE THE CASE YOU ARE EMOTIONAL
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The 911 tapes indicate Zimmerman could not tell whether TM was Black, White or Hispanic when he was asked by the operator.

The only thing that the tapes indicated GZ determined was that TM was a suspicious person. Not only was it dark but TM had on a hoodie making any determination of race/ethnicity dicey.

In contrast, the news network determined GZ was white without even seeing him!! That is why I reckon they have a lot for which to answer and I wish GZ well in that undertaking.

After all the initial hoopla, GZ turned out not to be white at all, but Hispanic …… the news people had to coin “White/Hispanic” to describe him or look like the jackasses/racists/idiots they were!!!

GZ looks to me like he would be referred to simply as Hispanic in Miami.

    So much for determining race!!

You live in Miami, wouldn’t you agree GZ is just plain old uncontroversial Hispanic?

I am going to suggest something else at the risk of being accused of profiling.

If GZ were white (or black for that matter) there is no way he would have got out of his vehicle.

It took a Hispanic to do that!!

I would also suggest that no one came when the cry for help went up because the only people who heard chose to mind their own business. Most people do that.

The gunshot signaled the resolution of the situation and it was only then that people came out to see.

You are correct it does NOT matter if GZ had any right on his side or NOT his life is finished! If the New Black Panthers dont get him with their BOUNTY, the Civil Rights lawyers WILL. Fake Passport time!

    I REPEAT

AFTER 60 YEARS ON THIS EARTH AS A BAJAN BORN AND RAISED IN BAJAN APARTHEID, IT IS CLEAR THAT WHITE BAJANS STILL BELIEVE THAT A WHITE MAN CAN DETERMINE THAT A BLACK BOY IS A CRIMINAL STALK HIM AND SHOOT HIM IN THE HEART.

AND IF AS A BLACK YOU BELIEVE THAT THIS SHOULD NOT BE THE CASE YOU ARE EMOTIONAL

FURTHER MORE A WHITE SCHOOL DROP OUT CAN COME ON BU AND SEEK TO DISCREDIT YOUR SCHOLARSHIP AND EXPERIENCE

THE BARBADOS POLICE WOULD HAVE DONE A BETTER JOB IN HANDLING THIS CASE, AND KEEPING THE EVIDENCE SAFE

I BELIEVE THAT THE SANFORD POLICE TAMPERED WITH THE EVIDENCE HERE

IF THERE IS NO EVIDENCE IN THIS CASE ITS BECAUSE SOME ONE TAMPERED WITH IT

THE BEFORE AND AFTER PHOTOS OF GZ PROVES THIS

  8. Money……………zimmerman decided he could swim with the sharks now he will need lots of bandaid.

    Since you want REPETITION
UNDER FLA LAW THE SELF DEFENSE STANDARD IS THE FEAR of IMMINENT DEATH or BODILY HARM! FACT!!!

CONSULT WITH THE VERY BEST LEGAL BLACK GENTS and THEY WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO CONFIRM THAT IS THE LAW IN FLA! NO BODILY INJURY REQUIRED! WHY PLAY THE RACE CARD???? TRUE INTELLIGENT PEEPS can DEBATE!!! WHEN WE CANt DISCUSS THEN WHAT IS LEFT???? Surely you dont have to play the RACE Card while saying that you are NOT EMOTIONAL???

If the evidence is there FRY GZ!!! Or is that RACIAL TOO??? I am not hispanic!

  13. As I predicted, this state case with the disgrace for a verdict because of manipulation will cause a change in the laws as they stand in florida dragging that racist state right into the 21st century…………just look at the ignorant racist asses they had for jurors, i am quite sure those heifers could barely read and write…………..

  14. @WW
That is unfair to the ladies because clever people should have figured out that they are actually NOT at fault,
    BLAME
    1 the Law
    2 the lack of evidence
    3 any cover up
4 the CSI and ME JOKERS
5 the PROSECUTION’s emphasis and appeal on EMOTION without a supportable thesis of what happened.

You are proving my case—-EMOTION NOT THINKING!

  15. @Pacha
OH! So what does the NAACP stand for, please enlighten my genius bro?
Yes you and all my Bajan brothers are MY BROs cause I am clever enough to know that I have much more in common with you than Englishmen or Americans!

  16. The NAACP was formed 100 years ago when that lingua was in ‘bogue’

  19. GZ would forever sit in duck’s guts waiting ’til judgment day. I bet it is an uncomfortable feeling.

On another note, it has been reported/rumored that he is out of the State or out of the Country. As we bajans would say, “he tek tiger bush.”

  20. Been watching the pimps Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton peddling their civil rights failed arguments against institutional racism. What gumption! While we remain certain that non-violence/civil disobedience is the way forward we must now consider that the civil rights movement has been a failure.

  21. @WW
Dumb BITCH Juror should keep quiet before the New Black Panthers take her and the family out! Common Sense NOT $$$$$$$$. But that is America!!
    Many whiteys are stupid bad!

  22. Money…………don’t care how many have to be buried because of all the stupidity and dumbness associated with this state case that we both know is inherent in the US, at least we will see changes to laws, there will be a silver lining.

……..Five Moments That May Have Led to George Zimmerman’s Acquittal
    ..By ABC News
.Posts .By ABC News | ABC News Blogs – 8 hours ago

By SENI TIENABESO and MATT GUTMAN

Only the six female jurors know for certain what testimony or evidence convinced them to acquit George Zimmerman of murder charges in the death of Trayvon Martin, but there were key moments in the trial that appeared to undermine the prosecution’s case for conviction. Here are five of them.

Chris Serino was the lead investigator looking into the shooting of Martin and initially urged the Sanford, Fla., prosecutor to charge Zimmerman with manslaughter, a recommendation that was rejected.

Serino was called to the stand by the prosecution and was expected to be a key witness against Zimmerman. In his “just-the-facts” style of answering questions, Serino was repeatedly questioned by the prosecution and defense about Zimmerman’s version of what happened that night. But in a surprise, the investigator was asked by Zimmerman’s lawyer whether he believed Zimmerman was telling the truth, and the cop answered, “Yes.”

The next day the prosecution asked that the jurors be directed to disregard Serino’s comment and the judge agreed, but the damage may have been done.

John Good was another prosecution witness whose words may have helped Zimmerman more than the prosecution. Good lived near where the fatal shot was fired and appeared to have had the best view of the brief fight between Zimmerman and Martin.

Good testified that he saw what he believed to be Martin on top of Zimmerman. “The color on top was dark and the color at bottom was…red,” Good said referring to the men’s clothing. At another point he told the court that the person on the bottom had “lighter skin color.”

Zimmerman is a white Hispanic who was wearing a red and black jacket that night. Martin, who was black, was wearing a dark sweatshirt.

“The person on the bottom, I could hear a ‘Help,’” Good said.

Under cross examination by Zimmerman’s lawyer, Good said he believes he saw Martin on top punching Zimmerman “MMA style,” a reference to mixed martial arts.

“The person on top was ground and pounding the person on the bottom?”asked Zimmerman attorney Mark O’Mara.

    “Correct,” said Good

Rachel Jeantel was Trayvon Martin’s friend who was talking with him on a cell phone until just moments before Martin was killed. She told the jury that Martin was scared of a “creepy a** cracker” who was following him and just before losing contact with Martin said she heard him say, “Get off. Get off.”

But under a grueling cross examination by Zimmerman’s lawyer Don West Jeantel conceded that it was difficult to hear what Martin was saying and that she did not know who threw the first punch when Zimmerman and Martin came face to face.

“The last thing you heard was something hitting somebody?” West asked her.

    “Trayvon got hit,” Jeantel said.

“You don’t know that, do you?” the defense lawyer said.

    “No sir,” she said.

“You don’t know that he didn’t take his fist and drive it into Zimmerman’s face do you?” the lawyer pressed.

    “No sir,” Jeantel replied.

Renowned forensics expert Vincent Di Maio may have been one of Zimmerman’s strongest witnesses. He told the jury that the pattern of powder burns and other forensic evidence on Martin’s body indicated that the teenager’s sweatshirt was two to four inches away from his body at the time he was shot, meaning that Martin was leaning forward over Zimmerman when he was killed.

“The medical evidence is consistent with his [Zimmerman’s] statement,” Di Maio told the Florida court.

The words of Trayvon Martin’s father were also used to undermine the prosecution’s case. A key battle in the trial was over who was heard screaming for help in the background of a 911 call before the fatal shot was fired. Martin’s family insisted the voice was their son’s voice, while Zimmerman’s parents told the court it was Zimmerman screaming.

Serino testified that when Martin’s father, Tracy Martin, first heard the tape he said it was not Trayvon. “He looked away and under his breath said, ‘No,’” Serino told the court.

  24. as one jury puts it.. the final determination in comng to the not guilty verdict is that TM was on top GZ therfore making him the agressor. Really! the jury also says that prosecutors witnesses evidence was discounted based on unbelievabilty. What this clearly points out that there indeed is a racial biasis softly built into this not guilty verdict enought to warrant scruntiny.

  25. Hopefully this case will not only stimulate changes in laws BUT precipitate solutions in several spheres of American life. Solutions to
    1 gun proliferation
2 Education of poorer peeps, maybe with special emphasis on why blacks and hispanics are NOT benefiting to the extent that is reasonable.
3 Crime–what are the real reasons certain groups are far over represented in prison? Why not educate better at the school level and in prison/ jail?

    Much more—–

  26. The white juror opened her mouth and the truth jumped out. onethat is mind blowing in respect that an all white jury concur on the truthfulness of GZ who one would suspect had more of a reason to lie about about that tragic night. Yet this allwhite jury choose to belive him. Blacks in america was once again given a dose of reality as to what whites think of their creditablity some how i don.t believe they were surprised.

  27. Most of these southern racist white are uneducated and can barely read and write themselves, the education system is far different and a much lower standard to what obtains in the North East, say NY. Unfortunately for Trayvon, not only were the six jurors semi-literate but also racists..

  28. @Bushie
“….because MB was allowed to talk to a few blacks”
Yes if a few blacks includes
1 my next door neighbors who i played with DAILY from age 4-12
2 the couple hundred blacks at HC for 8 yrs on daily basis
3 the sports teams with mainly blacks for and against
4 the Pakistanis on my team in England
5 the Africans at Uni, including black Sth Af
6 C’bean peeps in my Hostel and Uni.
7 peeps on my Team for 15 yrs in Canada

I will bet most black Bajans have NOWHERE near that resume!
Dealing with real live peeps NOT doing a PhD in Sociology! Never had any problems with any peeps on the list who new me.

Did have Racism directed at me from blacks who were Whitey Haters just because I breath oxygen!

I bet NOT many black peeps on this MB, in the Cbean or in the Western World can HONESTLY say the same!

  29. That semi-literate juror will not be making money of the murdered kids head………..Ha!!

    http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/juror-b37-drops-trayvon-case-book-pitch-article-1.1400096

  30. the white juror surely didn’t hid her racist view in her statements about the black witnesses. reminds me of whites when asked about blacks chirpes “some of my best friends are black” it is obvious that this woman had made up her mind not based on evidence but being sympathetic to GZ most of what she said in her first interview summed it all up. Poor GZ he was doing what he thought was best for the community BUT it all went wrong. What a climax to a tragedy. “POOR GEORGE “

  31. Where are Ross and MoneyBrain this evening now that the Racist Florida juror 37 is out. White people have a mass mental disease. That disease is racism and it will never end.

Attorney Cumberbatch, how could these revelation impact your initial assessment.

  32. Pressure and exposure beats lies and DNA embedded racism.

  33. @Pacha
I have arrived, please communicate exactly what you would likely me to provide lucid responses on!

  34. Money…….you talking pretty, did you visit LCBO??

  35. @ MoneyBrain

The 500 years of racism, to start.

  36. @Pacha
Do you seriously believe that RACISM is ONLY 500 hundred years old?

What proof do you have for that short period?

How are you defining RACISM? (probably some definition involving black victims only and white perps!)

These waters get DEEEEP real quick so be careful!

  37. @WW
Regrettably, I did NOT have time to visit with you at your favourite shop, LCBO! lol

  38. Hee, Hee!!

  39. Bajans need to shut the hell up about the flaws of other societies and need to address their own domestic issues first and foremost. I find it both compelling and repulsive that Bajans are so keen to dish out sh!t on other socieities without even noticing the sh!t they have piling up in their garden. It is beyond hypocritical; but indeed moronic. It seems to be a plague that is fixating the Bajan public. Never mind the rising costs, lowered pays, and lack of real job/career opportunities. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that such racial hatred still occurs in America; a country in which blacks were first introduced as commodities thus lacking any thread within the U.S.’s national fabric.

What OUGHT TO BE more disturbing and outrageous to Bajans is how they allowed their own politicians to allow these same racist white americans, canadians, british, and afrikaaners to come flock here to Barbados and essentially set up a socio-economic dynamic similar to apratheid and jim crow in Barbados, a predominantly black country. WAKE THE F#*%K UP PEOPLE! You’re bantering about nonsensical bullsh!t and still turn a lind eye to the fact that the Sh!t could happen here in Barbados. As it Has.

Remember the white man named Goodridge? He beat up a black teenager IN BIM and there was no outrage or outcry on part of Bajans. Tis is truly idiotic to say the least.

  40. MoneyBrain you spend so much time imbued in your false superiority and the propaganda of ignore people that you don’t even know or understand your own history and the events that gave your skin privilege. No more lessons today from us.

  41. Ignorant people

  42. Brudah Bim said:
“Remember the white man named Goodridge? He beat up a black teenager IN BIM and there was no outrage or outcry on part of Bajans. Tis is truly idiotic to say the least.”
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Unfortunately the dumb and ignorant ass black government just made sure goodridge got a title although knowing he is a nasty wannabe white racist and very violent as well, he got rewarded with recognition by the present black government, these same black ministers take bribes and kickbacks from the same whites and wannabe whites……..that says a lot about the mentality of black men in Barbados.

By the way, stop calling jackholes like goodridge white, that is all a delusion in their sick racist minds, shake his family tree and more blacks will fall out of it than what is in yours, you may also find some apes and monkeys falling out of his family tree.

Black people, particularly black males on the island continue to encourage the crap, when they make an informed decision to stop encouraging whites and wannabe whites in their evil ways of stealing from and being racist and violent to black people on the island, it will stop.

  43. By the way, if and when black people, not only in Barbados and Caribbean but worldwide finally acknowledge to themselves that whites/caucasian are nothing more than walking skin cancers, they would love themselves and treasure their beautiful melanated skin much more.

  44. While robert ross pretends to be a pseudo-sophisticated racist other see matters quite differently

  45. @WW
I see your POV Ms Mobile Cycle Cell! lol

Is just raw EMOTION going to attain real progress?

ALL LOGICAL HUMANS KNOW IT WILL NOT!

WE NEED TO PLACE this obvious problem of RACIAL DISCRIMINATION against darker peeps in the Street via Police et al, and in the Justice System at the TOP of the Agenda in the US. Be careful of having just Lawyers involved since they make plenty $$$$$ as a result of this injustice.
( NB Always be careful of too many Lawyers in ANYTHING, especially Politics, since FAR TOO MANY are both Clever and Evil) Apologies to the honest ones like Jeff C!

  46. Money……………i do agree, the violence will not help the situation and the lawyers will suck up all the funds, but they will be sucking up the funds from the taxpayers who happen to be majority white and majority racist, racism fueled by racist laws, not all whites are racist as we both know, but all will be paying for the sins of the father, remember unto the 3rd and 4th generation, if you believe the bible and all that jazz.
