Here is Tiger Woods former caddie Steve Williams reported to have directed a comment at Tiger Woods which can only be labelled as a racist remark. Many may feel that Tiger deserves it because he has never been one to present himself as the poster boy for Black causes. To think Williams owes Tiger for all the money he has made over the years.

It does not matter how we try to suppress the feeling,  how many Whites feel about Blacks always rises to the surface, especially when under the influence of alcohol.

  1. YES! Racism is very much alive today. I know because I have been fighting it for almost 11 years now in the UK. This is heading straight to the law courts & I trust that God will guide the tongues of those who stand up against racism & allow this fight to be a successful one.

These people have no qualms about taking a black person’s money, but they sure have a problem with the color of our skin.
They have no reservations when a black person help them make money, but yet they have a problem with our skin color.

We as ethnic people have ourselves to blame more so than the sorry Asses we call racist. We as black people are our own enemies. We join with other races to fight against our own.
It is disgusting that this man should make racist comments about Tiger Woods, but sad to say Tiger brought it on himself. Have you ever noticed that he married a white woman & all of the woman who he had extra marital affairs with were white (most blond haired, blue eyed).
    I rest my case.
    Blessings.

  2. It must be said that Tiger is NOT black for obvious scientific reasons, his mother is 100% Thai and so he is 50% Thai and since his Dad was obviously mixed approximately 50:50 African: Caucasian the Tiger must be considered Thai!

His Dad was obviously a clever, loving gentleman who ensured his son would be successful by discipline which MR W probably learned in the Military.

I have not heard what was said but certainly understand it was racist by all accounts. Humans love to fragment into Belonging Groups. Take London, as an example, white people would gladly fight for their beloved Arsenal football team in a brawl with their adversaries from Tottenham from a few hundred metres away, even though their cousins may be among the opposing fans. Same is true for black people in Jamaica who live in the garrison communities and kill each other over politics at election time. WHY?

People are irrational and race is the most obvious way to discriminate!
I am white and my wife is Chinese and when her father was told she intended to marry me he threatened to kill her! He had never met me!
    Pure racism!

There is no easy answer to racism but in my opinion the best attitude is to conduct oneself in a non racist way and assume that the people you meet will appreciate you for who you are and not make any assumptions due to one’s class, colour or creed. Surely we must never forget that some people are just plain racist and we must always be ready to deal with them as necessary.

  3. If I were white I would probably hate blacks too. They are just too cool.

    Check out this video.

  4. When we joined others some years ago ,quite rightly ,in turning our backs on the racist South African regime, we extended open arms ,especially to the cricketing world of New Zealand and Australia, who operated less overtly than South Africa. As the saying goes, the chickens ,or Kiwis, are coming home to roost.

  5. @Moneybrain

    Forget the scientific definition.

Tiger looks Black and he is considered to be Black by most.

The comment by Williams that he would shove something up his Black ars**** rams home the point.

  6. @Moneybrain

So Williams should have said “I wanted to ram something up his Thai/Asian/Caucasian/Black/Native Arse?” ( for the record Tiger has said he considers himself Cablinasian and he also has North American Native ancestry through his father).

As you live in Canada why don’t you read Lawrence Hill’s “Black Berry Sweet Juice”, I think he has a chapter along the lines Black + White=Black; Black + White is never White.

So for all intents and purposes Tiger Woods is Black, just like Barack.

  7. DO you know that Racism was “never always with us” and only started at a certain point in history ???

SO what dogmatic crap statement are you making in respect of Racism that it “will always be with us” ??

DO you know that this is the worse article I never read ?

  8. @Just Asking

You are what you write 🙂

  9. Dawn Rollins wrote “he married a white woman & all of the woman who he had extra marital affairs with were white”

    It is quite simple.
White women (European and North American) are more sexually liberated.
Nuh lotta drama to get them to gih yuh some.

  10. David. Greetings. I am one brother who is not going to get all riled up about Mr Williams comment about Tiger’s “black ass”. Why? Because in my opinion, Tiger has a very caucasian mindset and the way he perceive himself in that dominant group. His lifestyle is a indicator of that perception. Maybe , comments like those, will wake him up from his slumber of post-racial and race – neutral american society.

  11. @40 acres

    Greetings!

What you wrote is probably true but it does not remove the notion that Steve William’s comment is racist and probably reflects the thinking of his ilk.

  12. Stupse…..I am sooo tired of people talking about other people’s racist comments when we black people are sooo racist among ourselves. The way I look at racism is that we all have some kind of prejudice in all of us. If someone don’t like me because I am black that is ok with me because at least I know where I stand with you. No one has to like my skin colour and if they have a problem with it “Dem can KISS my BIG BLACK ASS” I once called my sister a big black dog ( we called each other names like that) and someone overheard and was shocked. She told me that I should not call her a black dog, I asked her if it is ok to call her a white dog. To call Tiger Woods racist by the company he keeps is none of our business. If he wants to marry white it is his choice not ours. And Hants stop stereotyping white women, you getting on as if Black women aint easy to give it up. Dem got nuff dat giving it up for a car ride so you tawking bare shoite.

  13. @islandgal

    Racism between Blacks?

    Surely you jest.

Maybe you mean you were prejudice or pejorative in the example you gave?

  14. Having read the “alleged” remarks attributed to Steve Williams to my thinking they appear racist in intent. He could easily have said, stuff it up his arse, but the black reference was made for a reason.

It is very easy to raise the spectre of racism in many situations when it is not warranted. However, in my experience having lived in a few countries in Europe over many years, the most racist of people never say anything in your presence that could be considered racist, because they are always “concious” of who you are.

Racism often raises its head when you are not there, in secret conversations and actions that you are not expected to hear or know about. It is then away from non prying eys or ears true racism rears its head…that is the really dangerous kind.

Then there are others who are not your close friends, with whom you might never have had a conversation with, but then in a tight situation would support you to the death. In life you often never really know for sure, so broad brush statements are often without foundation.

  15. David ……you are living in la la land. There are black people who don’t want to associate with other black people because they are a shade darker than they are. When black men only would marry high brown when they can’t get white, when those who don’t want nappy head children. Then there are those who will promote a high brown person first and leave out a dark skinned brother. Who are we fooling? When a friend of mine told me this story. She was at the supermarket shopping and stopped in front of the poultry chiller to choose her chicken. She felt someone tapping on her back so she stopped and looked around. There was this old black women behind her who asked her to step aside and let the white women behind her choose her chicken first.. My friend asked her where did she come from and it it 2011 along with a few choice words. The white lady told my friend not to mind the old lady. There are still many who still think this way and if that isn’t racism then what is it?

  17. If you have the time, and I suggest that everyone should take it, watch the movie NY NAME IS KHAN. A grand Bollywood production that certainly has within the story so many lessons to be learned by so many. And by the way I can safely say WORLD… I AM NOT A RACIST. I AM A FOOD TERRORIST, however. *see the movie*

My only comment is this: EARTH I LOVE YOU. We, like nature in all its glory, are one people….just different beautiful colours. And we were painted by the highest most creative artist in the Universe. How boring it would be if we were not. Bless.

I arranged to have my newspaper delivered by a man that delivered papers in the neighborhood. After a few weeks, I noticed that he would get out of his vehicle, walk up to my White neighbor’s house, around the corner from me, and deliver the paper, then drive around to my house, sit in his vehicle and blow the horn. I simply told him that we decided to make other arrangements.

  19. I never recognized the typically racist definition of black, probably because I wanted to identify with Mohamed Ali and Garry Sobers, who were my childhood idols. At school most of my friends were certainly not white!

    @Sarge
Trust me, I know the race situation very well, I spent my youth arguing with a somewhat racist mother.

SHADISM is common among black and Indians. At school dark kids would always tease some fella called Black Shadows, Black Pearl etc and Indians have done the same thing to really dark Indians Darks, Blacks etc White people call a really white fella papsy, spoggy, etc

Islandgirl makes some very sound points. In Toronto, I have witnessed white referees in Baskeball games make calls that favoured darker teams to the point that it was very obvious. Weird but true.

The real problem is that some people always look to divide, cause trouble etc.

  20. @Moneybrain

The scenario here is simple, a man who worked for a Black man for 12 years seemed joyous in expressing what he would like to do to his former boss’ Black ass.

  21. islandgal246 wrote “And Hants stop stereotyping white women, you getting on as if Black women aint easy to give it up.”

islandgal246 that has been my considerable personal experience. Fuh true.

  22. Islandgal is correct we all have our prejudices. Whether it be religion, politics, tribe, language, race, nationality etc. These social construction can be very destructive when internalized and allow to reign free by certain groups in the society. I don’t support the homosexual agenda , therefore I am prejudiced in that respect toward homosexuals.

Black folks, especially we in the diaspora, have our own issues of color prejudices and self-hatred to sort out. Some of us kill each other for mere spoils and crumbs with impunity. Some of us try in vain to modify our phenotypical traits. And when that don’t work we try very hard to mate with other people with those trait. From a psycho-analytic perspective we are a messed up bunch of people.

You know what I find crazy about this issue of Tiger Woods and his former caddy ? I find it ridiculous and repugnant that a person can become a multi-millionaire by walking around with a golf bag. What next? a millionaire dog walker.

  23. if you insult a white person (for being white) that is deemed racism nowadays not freedom fighting (or getting angry)

  24. There is Racism and there is “Learned Behaviour. The latter is which blacks not all frequently used on each other. This behaviour has it roots in slavery and some blacks have been unable to rid themselves of it

  25. @Sargeant ”As you live in Canada why don’t you read Lawrence Hill’s “Black Berry Sweet Juice”, I think he has a chapter along the lines Black + White=Black; Black + White is never White. ”

BINGO! Although you did not mention the ‘honorary white’ depending on how much money or position you have?

By the way, we have a beautiful representative at Miss World show (dont usually pay much attention to these sorts of shows, as they usually have political and other motives, but only because she is so lovely I will be keen to see it.)

    It is tonight.

  27. It was quite refreshing to read comments from others & get their personal point of view regarding this subject. However, I believe that each & everyone of us are entitled to our own opinions, whether we agree or not. One thing I must say though, I did not like the abuse leveled towards others.
    Blessings.

  28. @David
I already said he was racist and I thought that we all agreed on that.

  29. Mark Twain was quoted as calling Golf “A good walk spoiled”, but Steve Williams made so much money carrying Eldrick’s bag that he was able to start his own charitable foundation. Now that he and Tiger are on the outs he discovered that Tiger was Black and not “Cablinasian” (Tiger’s word). In fact Tiger was William’s best man when he got married ( must be a bitch for Stevie to go through the album, one wonders if he has used a scissors to remove photos of Tiger) but if he wanted a brown face at his nuptials he could have asked one of the local Maoris to do the honours.

I don’t play Golf but I tend to watch if Tiger is playing; years ago when Nicklaus was in his prime there was a Black man who used to carry his bag but now there is big money to be made you can’t find a brother toting a bag on the course.

Tiger despite his success and the money that he has generated for Golf in general and the purses of the other golfers is not popular among his peers and none of them have made any statement condemning Williams. In contrast Fuzzy Zoeller was roundly criticised when he quipped that Tiger (as defending Champion) was going to choose “fried chicken” for the Menu at the Champion’s dinner.

Golfers change caddies all the time (Tiger fired his first caddie) and then selected Williams, now its Williams’ turn he doesn’t like it.

  30. @Sargeant

“when Nicklaus was in his prime there was a Black man who used to carry his bag but now there is big money to be made you can’t find a brother toting a bag on the course.”
    ___________________________________________________________
You’re right, of course, but the reasons are nothing to do with money, but more sociological and racial. The fact is that a white golfer with a black man toting his bag around the course conjurs-up an image that is uncomfortable for most people in the modern era. I would suggest that if such were still the case, many posters here would be the first to point out that such a practice would be racist. The shame is that, Tiger apart, as he was a child prodigy, many golfers get their start in the game through being caddies, black and white. So the decline in the number of black caddies has also regrettably coincided with the decline in the number of black professional golfers. Hopefully there will be a change as the children of black executives and successful black businesspersons are introduced to the game, as no doubt it is expensive. There’s no shortage of talent, just shortage of opportunities.
Finally, I would say that Steve Williams himself has always been a bit of an “arsehole”, and that Tiger took the opportunity to benefit from Williams’ gamesmanship on many occasions. The comment was racist, and in my opinion excuses cannot be made for him just because he’s good at his job. He should never carry a bag for a professional again.

  31. @Peltdownman

    **************
Sorry, can’t buy the sociological argument there are still thousands of Black caddies carrying white golfers’ bags but we don’t see them on TV. How many Black caddies would turn down the opportunity to work for a professional Golfer on the PGA tour? Do you think those caddies would give a hoot about the bystanders on the sidelines if they have the chance to earn a decent pay cheque?

Steve Williams wasn’t the least bit embarrassed or humiliated when he carried Tiger’s bags, he was only interested in the money I suspect it would be the same for a Black caddy working for a white golfer.

  32. @Sarge
Sorry Sarge, but you’ve missed the point. It’s not that black caddies do not want to carry for white professional golfers, it is because white golfers feel that it doesn’t look right to have a black person toting their bag along behind them. That is a social and racial matter, nothing to do with money. As for Steve Williams and Tiger, well the shoe was on the other foot, wasn’t it? Williams obviously still thinks that Tiger is beneath him.

  33. The Oxford English Dictionary defines racism as the “belief that all members of each race possess characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races” and the expression of such prejudice. By that definition, some of posts in this thread (eg about white women’s prediliction for extra marital affairs or the “Causcasian mindset”) are also racist. Racial stereotyping is wrong, no matter what the contaxt.

  34. It does not surprise me Tiger Wood former caddy Steve Williams has made some racist remarks against him. Those remarks have signalled the decline of Tiger Woods as a prominent golfer.
Tiger Woods is one the most despised golfer on the international arena today. The white world that he wanted to live in has now come crashing down on him.He has lost his white blond wife, who took a substantial amount of his fortune with her.He has also lost his fame as the leading golfer in the world.Tiger Woods has fallen from grace and is now enduring the treatment that many prominent Black people such as O.J Simpson,Michael Jackson and few other encountered.
I have no sympathy for Tiger Woods, neither O J Simpson,Michael Jackson and the other stupid Blacks who tasted success and rejected their Black heritage to embrace a white life.
It is blatant to see that white people do not want us Blacks around them, but many stupid Blacks especially the successful ones always neglect their black heritage to adopt a white life.In the end it does not work out and when the whites had enough of them, they bring them down and let them know that they could use them and then dispose of them.We will never learn.
Tiger Woods is a stupid Black man who is receiving the treatment he deserves. He thought that his riches & fame and the rejection of his Black heritage would have endear him to the white community It did not and the fool is now realising the stupidity of his ways.
Tiger Woods has joined the ranks of O J Simpson & the others stupid Blacks who wanted to live a white life and was rejected.
    Herman Cain is next.

You are right I just don’t get it, so according to your analysis White golfers are so wracked with guilt at the thought of a Black caddy carrying their bags that to ensure that appearances look “right” they employ a White caddy.

That way they ensure all the social mores are respected and all the racial niceties are observed. I hope that kind of thinking doesn’t catch on in the USA otherwise Black unemployment which is already high will reach astronomical levels.
