I would like everyone who reads this article to sit back for a moment and think about these things. If I had the same chance as this other guy life would be better for me.  What if no one really cared about me, what would be come of me? What if I didn’t go to school?…  I can go on and on with the what ifs.

My point is this. What if you never give the other person a chance in life to be all that they might be able to be,  you have taken away from that persons success.    We as human-beings have an obligation towards each others success or failure.  I am sure that this will be a big debate between man, look at it this way. If your parents and others around you didn’t make sure that you did what must be done to be all that you could be; you would be then called, the lost generation of that era.  You got that chance and people care enough to make sure that you got that chance. Sometimes in life some need more attention than others; some are followers and some are leaders. It’s not really for us to give up on anyone since we are by the Laws of GOD all part of HIM; GOD has never given up on any of us. So when you decide to turn your back on others but still saying prayers asking GOD’S HELP – Think of what you are really doing.

From a boy I resented being deemed as a color because I was taught in school the difference in colors, I see no human-beings to fit or match the colors that I was being taught to be black or white. Many have died and are still dying over not being treated as human-being that are all a part of GOD.

It’s time that we gave this a rest and accept people as people and not as colors. This way life will become less complicated in many areas.   I will say so called one or the other but never say black or white. This will be the biggest step that all mankind can ever take towards change.  We go to church and serve GOD or whatever name according to the religion that we belong to but even in the church we are preaching and teaching division.  Do not allow all that was here before us who died for the right to be just another human-being to be all in vain.

Right here at home in America this is bigger than life. It’s alright to be equal to put your life on the line for your country in time of war. However when you return home you are right back to where you started from. I have always bragged and boasted that Barbados was beyond allowing that to make a difference as it’s done here at home in America.  It seems as if we are loosing the edge that we had on others and falling into the same trap.  We aren’t better than any other regardless of where we came from, what money we have, or anything else for that matter. Respect is due to all of GOD’S CREATION. HE demands this of us when HE states,”Love thy neighbor as you too love thyself, do unto others as you would have then do unto you” This is perfectly clear to me that if we continue doing what we are doing towards one another; It can only become worse and never better.

I believe in GOD with all my heart and soul. And I know for all the things that I have been through up to this point in my life. Without HIM I would never have gotten this far.  I was never and will never be a follower. I believe in being my own self. I took whatever my parents taught me and added to it and became my own self.

I would love for parents to stop telling their children, you are just like your mother or you are just like your father. Or that neither of them was no good and you are going to be the same as them.  Don’t believe this. Do not go through life proving them to be right. You have the power through GOD to be different.  The bible states, “Whatsoever a man thinketh, so shall be the man” This brothers and sisters gives you control over self through the power of thought.  Stand up for what you believe in and be the man or woman that makes a difference in a positive way. Leave no stone unturned because the one that you didn’t turn can be the one that makes a difference.

And we all is human-beings deserve all the chances that life can offer us. Wake up everybody, no more sleeping in bed. No more backward thinking, time for thinking ahead. The world is still the same as it used to be. It’s too much hatred, war and poverty. The world wouldn’t get no better if we just let it be. It’s time for change which can only come from you and from me.  Think about this really long and hard and do what you have to do to make that difference not just for you,but for the good of all of GOD’S CREATION.

We have to be there more for the what you call the young generation.  Stop finger pointing and name calling. Show them a little more LOVE and ATTENTION.  Many of them are doing what they are doing for lack of attention, period.  One of the big problems is young boys and girls being parents and never were taught how to be responsible for what they have done.  I was 17 when I became a father.  My mother made it clear that if I wanted to be a man I needed to be responsible for my child, and believe me I was already making money being a barber. When my daughter came into this World, I started working on the ships traveling.

My point is that you have to teach the younger generation to be responsible for their own actions. STOP being the parents to their children instead of being their grandparents.  When you take-care of that child you are allowing the parent to void his or her responsibilities.  After you child went to school and got a good education and graduated,  you allow them to just remain at home doing nothing but live what they claim is the cool life doing nothing with all the education that they accomplished.  Place the blame where it needs to be. It’s not all the fault of the younger generation. You can not be a child’s parent and friend all at the same time; You have to be a parent who makes rules when that child is still under your roof. Cussing at your children when you become angry by allowing things to keep on and on until you become tired;  This will never change anything.

To all you young folks in Barbados.  Take pride in yourself. Keep yourself presentable at all times. You never know who you will run into during the course of the day that you might have to go to for a job. But they saw you cussing and walking around pants off your butt, or you ladies showing more than needed to be shown. How can you demand **RESPECT from the guys when you aren’t respecting your own selves. Be leaders and stop being FOLLOWERS, Barbados is a small country with a wealth of educated people. To top it off,  GOD has given Barbadians something extra from all others;  we can adapt to any conditions and catch on to just about anything better than most.

**STOP** killing one another over material things. A life can never be replaced after it’s taken. You can say you are sorry but that will never give that parent his or her child back. Think for a moment how will you feel if the shoe was on the other foot.  Unless we become one and the same **BARBADIANS**with a desire to be recognized for **OUR PRIDE and BRILLIANCE**. Come on, come on, I know that you can do it….* I BELIEVE IN YOU**and many others does also.

May all Barbadians and all who dwell in this world be Blessed and Highly Favored;  **I LOVE BARBADOS**;

  1. @ CSC

    At a word count of 1403 – you are rivaling your humble servant for top spot!!!

    On a lesser satirical note – the jist of your piece at heart is paved with good intentions…

    However, the reality on the ground sadly, is less salubriously circumspect and more lugubriously pessimistic given the inheritances of human nature…

    Forgive me for being a dualist – but as Jesse Jackson often opines – “keep hope alive” is frankly a tough call to make given what we are all up against!!!

  2. Mr Cadogan Sir!
    You used 1403 words as the jackass Terence opines , but guess what? We understand what you said……we understand what you mean. And you make good sense Sir, probably because you are simply genuine.
    But guess what? Not even God in heaven understands the absolute faecal material that issues forth from the man hailed as the bar raiser on BU!

    What on earth or in hell does this mean ……”However, the reality on the ground sadly, is less salubriously circumspect and more lugubriously pessimistic given the inheritances of human nature…”

    It seems that this twit is “salubriously circumspect” in being “lugubriously pessimistic” !!

    One thing you can say about this Terrence fool though HE IS CONSISTENT! HE IS A GENUINE JACKASS WHO COMES ON BU TO PROVE THAT HE KNOWS OR THAT HE IS LEARNED OR BRIGHT OR SOMETHING”

    This guy has serious psychological and psychiatric problems!
    Watch now……..watch ……..should be fun!

  3. Looks like someone is bringing some additional X’MAS CHEER* given the contracting holiday spirit…

    Someone PLEASE* warn Santa that Scrooge will be delivering “pressie” this year!!!

    LOL!!!

  4. Lol…..GP said…’Not even God in heaven understands the absolute faecal material that issues forth from the man hailed as the bar raiser on BU!

    Are you saying then, that a mere mortal has the ability to confuse the Supreme, all powerful being God?
    Well then, T might very well be a bar raiser after all…ROFLMAO!!

  5. All the ex- pats (except PAT) telling us how to live here in Bim.

    What a future we would have had if they had stayed.

    The question to me was;_ Tell us how to live here in Bim?
    Ok,I’ll start by saying that if we continued being proud and determine to better ourselves without looking that much to others for help. I would like to remind you that the Bajans of yesterday would leave any stones unturned when it came to being helpful to others; If you keep building all these hotels, villas,and malls at the end of all this building and money making. Where is the common man in Barbados fitting into this plan? Bajans are resilient people. The older one that I’ve know. But it seem that the much younger Bajans has another plan that’s going to be just for **NOW** with nothing for the next generation to own. Growth is a must,but we must stay within certain limits that will allows as room also as a Nation to enjoy without pain and suffering;
