Faria and ricky singh have been finally unmasked by one of their own guyanese countryman – freddie kissoon.

Freddie kisson is someone who can speak with authority here,since he has neither been a sycophant of the ruling PPP or the opposition PNC.

He has cursed both jagan and burnham alike,and has spoken out against the discrimination by the racist indo dominated PPP jadeo administration – against afro guyanese.

He has hit the nail on the head when he describes the ‘mediocre ramblings of norman faria as childish;and upbraids the jagdeo administration for hiring AS ‘Honorary Consul’ an incompetent person as faria.

He further blatantly calls a spade a spade when he points out that ricky singh is not worthy of being given the accolades he has received in the past by UWI and others, because of singh’s deceit and complicity in the corruption of the basdeo jagdeo’s administration – the party to which singh is a supporter.

Yet singh could be as so bold to ‘bite the hands that feed him’ here in barbados by going up and down the caribbean and criticisng Barbados for seeking to protect its resources and the patrimony of its people by controlling the spiralling illegal immigrants from singh’s homeland – Guyana.

Shame on you ricky singh and faria,you have finally been caught out by one of your own and it’s time you do the honourable thing (that is if you know what honourable means) and GO HOME!

In today’s nation michael howard is agreeing with david thompson’s new immigration policy.

Where I disagree with him is his desire for us to ‘show a human face’ to those illegals who came here and had children.

HELLO………… that was the idea in the first place Mr Michael howard.

These illegal persons especially the indo guyanese but others as well, came here and had children some with bajan men and others with their own guyanese men.

This was done so that their children could have citizenship and they,the mothers believed,that by doing this they will get a chance to get permanent status in Barbados.

Freddie Kissoon has little credibility as a serious analyst in Guyana . People in fact read him for a amusement. Here is Faria’s take on him in a letter published recently in the Guyana press

KISSOON’S NIGHTLY SEARCH FOR THE BIZZARE AND OUTLANDISH

“A recent letter in another section of the press of Vishnu Bisram lamented that while Freddy Kissoon frequently maligns people in his columns, he doesn’t like it too much when he gets some criticism in return…..
I take issue though with Bisram describing Kissoon as having “25 years as a journalist (and therefore should know better)”. Kissoon is not a journalist, in the traditional meaning of the term of a media worker going out and obtaining and disseminating information (the “story”) giving all the “who, how,what,where,when and possible why” in an objective way quoting revelant sources. His is personal opinion. This is the nature of column writing, through there are outstanding and necessary examples where the line is blurred between subjective viewpoints and reporting in the interests of the deepening of ongoing progress and development (as reflected in the state owned media).
Columnists are part of the media but not journalists in its purest sense of the term.Kissoon is what is known in the trade as a shock columnist. He is just like the “radio jocks” in the US renowed for their outlandish styles and comments. They themselves are entertainmet . Some of them go too far and spout racism like the now disgraced Don Imus who once described a largely African-American US basketball women’s team as a bunch of “nappy headed hoes”.
Shock columnists need to constantly rack their brains at night for outrageous topics and other extraordinary wild talk. You see, there needs to be “controversy” to attract readers.Though I would’t sentence anyone to that torture, you got to read Kissoon’s column on a regular basis to see what outrageous nonsense he writes about, including quoting the dead from whom of course there can be no verification.
Papers need these types of wild talkers just like stores need marketing gimmicks from time to time to boost slumping sales. Nobody really takes them seriously. Some columnists nevertheles have their place and add an unusual dimenson to sometimes routine reporting
Here’s one example of Kssoon’s shock approach. He has latched onto the so called theory of “elected dictatorship” espoused by US based Fareed Zakaria,who (do we need to say it?) is what is known as a “talking head”. He is a TV talk show host, the electronic equivalent of a shock columnist,though I think he has a column in a news magazine. ….There isn’t anything new about Zakaria’s so called theory and it has been debunked by serious analysts.
The bottom line is that in Guyana at this present conjuncture and taking into account certain historical realities, the citizens have voted in free and fair elections for a political party whose theorectial groundings came out of the still internationally respected and inspiring traditions of the European Enlightment. No amount of fancy wordy footwork and semantic gimmickry can change that.
Kissoon appears himself to realise the futility of pushing this column fodder about an “elected dictatrship”. Now he is onto the typically outragoeus (and false) “Burnham and Jagan the same” pitch. I mean, he has to get a grip on himself in his apparently nightly search for the bizarre and outlandish.
Then there is the pointing to Guyanese, even politicians (presumably from all parties because Opposition leader Mr. Corbin recently went to the US for treatement) travelling overseas for things like medical treatment and allowing their children to live and study there. This is a bad indictment on Guyana, he claims. My view is that though Guyana is advancing on many fronts,including equality and opportinities for all races and religions under this working peoples government, the challenges in some areas means that Guyanese should have the freedom to take advanage of opporunities offered overseas and return to Guyana. To get medical treatment, Trinidad Prime Minister Manning recently went to Cuba, a country so unfairly –it has its own type of democracy typified for many years by the great Fidel Castro–maligned by Kissoon as a “dictatorship”.
You got to understand Kissoon, not as an individual case, but in the general overall context including the opening up of the media in Guyana over the last decade. He adds, as I said, a little unusual dimension to sometims routine reporting. Most times though he is entertainment,or amusing, as Bisram also notes.”

When an honorary consul resorts to duplicitous conduct as evidenced on this blog; it is indicative of what Barbados citizens have had to deal with for sometime.

I don’t know if anyone disagrees with this or not,but I believe the next Government of Guyana should replace Mr. Faria in Barbados with Mr. Kissoon.It could go a long way in repairing some of the problems that face both countries.

I am glad to learn that I am not the only person who is mystified by the acclaim given Ricky Singh, has he ever written anything insightful or analytical about the life andor politics Guyana. The other guy Faria strikes me as a person who knows he doesn’t have anything to say but he believes that the world is desperately waiting to hear from him …so he speaks and speaks and ..nothing
Instead of endlessly pontificating about Barbados why don’t the two of them go to Guyana and help fix the problems there ….No …..they rather stay in Barbados and tell the best managed country in the Caribbean how to manage immigration policy .Maybe they ought to spend some time developing policy for the Guyanese government on how to keep their people in Guyana. I am very sympathetic to the plight of the Guyanese people but after reading the comments of these two elite Guyanese I understand why the country is in the state it is in ….parochial, and lacking vision and hopeless .
Thank God for our leadership our educational system , our people and their wisdom….we simply reject and dismiss their collective rantings.

There is a column in one of the guyanese newspaper,the kaeiteur news,which speaks to the increasing social deviancy of Guyana.

In that Peeping Tom column,the writer observes that the sign that the country’s wealth is not trickling down to the poor,and that guyana is deteriorating can be seen by the increase number of persons begging on the streets of Guyana.

Whole families ie,grandmother,mother and children,disabled persons,young children can all be seen at busy crossroads begging for money.

In addition the writer tells us,Guyana is returning to those earlier days when teachers took sugar cakes to sell to the schoool children,adults took to selling plantain chips and public servants sold panties to their co-workers, to supplement their income because they were so destitute.

This is why fellow bloggers our immigration officers are flooded daily with false passports and false CSME ceritification documents.These public officials,be it police officers,customs.legal clerks,whoever all take bribes,and will produce whatever documents you want for the right price.

The guyanese have brought this corrupt mentality to barbados and have been seeking out public servants,in particular immigration and police officers and offering them bribes which have been taken by those weak,and greedy public servants.

They are therefore seeking to make a negative, destructive feature of their country an entrenched one in our country.

Now to the begging;

Is any one doubtful that as these hard economic times start to deepen that we may not see these immigrants start the practice of begging on our street corners?

Have you bloggers ever seen a fairly plump,tall, young,dark skinned woman with a young child around Nova Scotia bank in wildey begging for money in past times?

She is a vincentian.

Have any of you encountered guyanese who as soon as they start working or talking to you start begging you for clothes,food,money to borrow?

Are you seeing how this society which our foreparents carefully built,block by block over the decades is now starting to crack because of the entry of immigrants with these undesirable habits?

They have taken to squatting anywhere there is vacant land,they have taken to turning good chattel houses into slum dwellings,and they have taken to bringing over their young women and men and traffick them here in barbados as prostitutes.

Does this government and by extension the immigration officers and police force understand the tremendously important task that has been entrusted in them?

The strict adherence to their tasks is the deciding factor as to whether we as a nation will progress or go into decline as has happened in that land of wood and water – the ‘great’ republic of Guyana.

Faria came here as a young man and was allowed by the barbadian government to attend secondary school free of cost here.

I have been wondering why Guyana has decided not to have a full fledged embassy or diplomatic representative in barbados.

After all,guyana has at least over 40,000 of their citizens in this little 166 sq miles country.

These people are creating havoc here in barbados committing crimes be it murder,stealing,fraud ,bringing in cocaine,prostitution,trafficking in guyanese citizens,squatting,breaking the immigration laws etc.

Why does guyana decides just to have an unkept,,semi illiterate person acting only in a voluntary,unpaid position.

Surely the Barbados government could demand that this diplomatic postion be upgraded.

It has crossed my mind that if there is an embassy situated here in barbados serving even the other eastern caribbean countries,then our government can insist that the embassy here look after the cost of deportation of their citizens and will not have to bear the cost of repatriating these illegal guyanese and these criminals etc.

When the immigration officers pick them up we have to house them,and feed them and pay the air passage back to guyana.

Not a cent from the guyana government.

I will suggest that prime minister david thompson should calculate the cost we are having to bear especially during these hard times,and seek to get this money refunded through either a swap of lumber,rice or vegetable products.

It is not good enough that we the taxpayers have to foot this bill while basdeo jagdeo of guyana deleiberately ships out his destitute people to all corners of the caribbean to work illegally and send back barbados needed foreign exchange back to guyana.

No wonder the prime minister of Jamaica Bruce Golding described basdeo jagdeo the president of guyana as shaming the other countries of the caribbean by going around the world with a ‘begging bowl’.

This matter of cost must be urgently taken up by this thompson administration,sooner rather than later.

Re Faria’s birthplace and lineage:I do not know ifit is correct but ….
I have been told that one of his parents was Barbadian, and the other was Guyanese. However he was born in Dominica, where his parents were working at the time, and came to Barbados as a child.
As “Honorary Consul” he does not get paid a proper salary, but someone ekes out a living by charging fees for some services. He is a sworn Communist from the days of his youth, and embraced the Jagans communist theories and philosophy since the early 1960’s. The Jagans have protected him over the years but both are now gone. However he is still supported” by the old group in the PPP leadership. There have been ongoing calls by Guyanese for his replacement over the years and the upgrading of the Consulate here – to no avail. He is hated by Guyanese as he does great harm to their their image and seems to only represent PPP supporters properly. Barbadians have had their fill of him but he, like the Guyana dictatorship, has become a fixture. As he gets older he is getting more disruptive, adversarial and disgusting. Good riddance!

Eco, I think he is Barbadian, well they have written articles about him in the Guyana newspapers, but his back ground is very sketchy, one paper wrote how he won scholarship to an elxclusive school in Barbodos in is early teens, the same articles said that he does even have a Guyanese accent. Another newspaper said, he attended an exclusive Guyanese prep school and upon leaving school was offered a good paying job with a Barbados firm.

He has been writing to the Guyana newspapers for a long time, in fact the Guynaese newspapers ran an article how the Dr. Martin Boodoo restored an old car of some English model and next week Faria sends a letter talking about the English sports car he had in Barbados in his teen to early 20’s. He is Bajan, but I want to say it’s sad that they would appoint a PPP supporter as the consul there, not right.

You appointed Captain Gerry in Guyana and he is not a DLP or BLP supporter, he is neutral, but this mad hatter is so steeped in PPP nonsense, and since he is such a Communist then he should take his holiday in North Korea or China, why he going to America and then he ends up in the Indian Guyanese section of America, when there are 42,000 Bajans in America, so he should end up in the Bajan section, then he writing back reports to the Guyana newspapers, about his holiday, look Faria there are 1/2 million Guyanese in America, and every body in Guyana has a friend or a relative there in America, plus a 1/8 of the present population in Guyana has been to America so they not interested in your observations about America.

Jay, honey trust me, you don’t know what you talking here about Kissoon as next ambassador to Bridgetown from Georgetown, you don’t know my dear, for if Faria is the mad hatter, Kissoon is Humpty Dumpty, you don’t want him there. That is definitely unfair,A $100 fine with no jail time is a joke !

Here in the US if ANYONE claims to be a US citizen when they are not,even if they have a green card,they can be sent to jail for up to 3 years & permanently deported for such an offense.This can also happen to those whom even having a pending application for Citizenship.

Hopefully,the managed migration act will beef up some of these arcane laws so that the law can more effectively target those whom fraudulently acquire another person’s identity & those whom promote such acts.

Faria says Guyanese in Barbados being stereotyped

– in light of new immigration policy

Guyanese in Barbados are being stereotyped, sometimes solely because of their appearance, following a statement by Prime Minister David Thompson that all illegal immigrants will be deported at the end of the year.
“Regrettably, there have been distressing reports that some Guyanese, simply on the basis of their appearance and who may have some form of status such as work permit or residency, are being singled out for attention in places like public transport vehicles. “This is wrong and must be condemned. It goes against the grain of time honoured traditions of hospitality, tolerance and decent mindedness in Barbados,” Guyana’s Honorary Consul to Barbados Norman Faria said yesterday.

Faria, in a press statement, said his office has seen a “big jump” in telephone inquiries and visits from Guyanese about the implications of the recently announced changes to the Barbados Immigration regulations by Prime Minister Thompson.

“It is natural that people are worried about their security and future. Guyanese are human beings just like Bajans in a similar situation overseas,” he stated.

“It is really heartbreaking to hear of people being here for five and eight years, even more, and making inquiries about whether they fall into the time frame as announced,” Faria added.

He said some of the Guyanese have settled into their neighbourhoods with Bajan companions and friends.

Faria said the Consul offers a re-migrant programme and provides information for those who wish to return to Guyana.

He said that he is sending

a “full” report to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Guyana.

Prime Minister Thompson has issued a warning to all undocumented persons in the island to get their status regularised or face deportation at the end of the year. He said this amnesty would only apply to persons who had been in the island eight years or more prior to 2005. All others would be “removed.”

“I must say that the Consulate is also receiving inquiries from Bajans seeking advice about their Guyanese companions, loved ones and children born here and in Guyana.

“I have always said that there continues to be good and friendly relations between the Barbadian and Guyanese peoples and the governments over the years and it is my firm belief that right and proper choices that will further cement these long standing warm relations will be made during this challenging juncture for some Guyanese in Barbados,” Faria stated.

i said before the first time i heard faria spoke on Guyana govt tv i did not know who he was and was puzzled as to why the govt channel was showing a ‘Bajan’ i couldn’t detect any Guyanese in his entire talk [don’t recall what he was talking about]
