israel-palestineAs the bombs rain down on the heads of women and children in Gaza…over 460 Palestinians have been killed, to be fair as well as Hamas fighters.  One is tempted to ask when will it all end, but before that question is answered we should ask ourselves when did it begin…I will not venture into Biblical history.  I am also aware of the Hamas rockets fired on the Israeli cities including Sderot and Ashkelon.

Regardless of the rights and wrongs of the situation –human beings are being killed – what cannot be denied is that after the Second World War the world disgusted with themselves for the treatment  the Jews suffered, sometimes with the acquiesce of some world powers and silence from others.  Sought to redress the wrongs suffered by the Jews, in so doing it was the Palestinians who had to pay… and they did with their land.  When the Israelis are asked how come you are entitled to these lands, they retort – God gave it to us, it is written in the Bible.  They are not many people today who can show title to land they hold by reference to the Bible in a court of Law…but that is bye the bye.

That Israeli is entitled to live in peace is so obvious that is is not worth stating but so are the Palestinians.

We have had so many Palestinian “bogey men”  who if they were killed or were out of the way all would be sweetness and light but they were killed or died…and there is no sweetness or light.

Do you remember Yasser Arafat, Ariel Sharon said he was an obstacle to peace and without his presence a settlement would ensue.  Arafat is long dead and new fighters and leaders have taken his position.  Do you remember Hamas Sheikh Ahmed Yassin the nearly blind paraplegic who was assassinated by an Israeli helicopter gunship in 2004 he was said to be an obstacle to peace he is gone and yet there is no peace.

The shrouds have been wrapped around babies and they entombed.  Mothers beat their breast and wail, the bombs rain down..there is no peace.

Conflicts have been settled and the world moves on, but I fear the Israeli Palestinian conflict will “grind” on for many a year.  There will be no peace for the price of that peace is an acceptance that the other side is entitled to live in peace and harmony; bold is he/her who will predict that they will see peace in their lifetime in the Holy Land…I fear I will not see it, however there are always surprises in war.

    @PIG….Pray tell how can Pig alleviate this human suffering. Before you can heal or cure don’t you have to IDENTIFY the cause of the illness? Or maybe we should just eat some more pig. To call these blood-letters pigs or apes would be an insult to these 2 animals.

    It is obvious this situation can be characterized as the village bully picking on a “weakling”. Say what you want Hamas was elected by the PEOPLE and Israel and her cohorts need to show respect. Have we forgotten that it was the Israelis who coopted Hamas in the 80’s to weaken Arafat’s Fatah party? Hamas like many of the parties in the middle east has a rough/sordid history but the evidence was there to show that Hamas up to the time in joined with Fatah to form a coalition had moved away from its past and although more radical than Fatah was in the process of transforming.

    our research on this matter shows that it was the Israelis that entered Gaza the same night Obama was elected and kill a few people. The other point is the upcoming Israeli election. All the factions/parties-and they are many who want to show who is strongest.

    As you said and as I have said before, when the Mossad created Hamas to usurp Arafat’s PLO, they were considered then, by Israel, the west and Europe, to be legitimate resistance fighters. Now that they have served their purpose, Israel would like to dispose of them.
    I remember Margaret Thatcher calling Nelson Mandela a terrorist also.
    The US aided Saddam in the fight against Iran.
    How can people be so blind to the obvious?……..
    They were reporters embedded with tank convoys in Iraq, strange why the Israelis dont want them in Gaza, these reporters know the dangers and live by it.
    The only news media there is Al Jazeera and they have already been discredited as pro-Arab /anti Israeli by the western world. What comes out on CNN,FOX and to a lesser extent BBC, has already been sanitized by the Israelis.

    Some people say it is not important but I find it very deciding.
    Is there anywhere in the Bible which describes the physical appearance of Jesus as he lived on this earth?
    I guess most can see where I am headed with this…but I need to know.

    The military invasion of the Gaza Strip by Israeli Forces bears a direct relation to the control and ownership of strategic offshore gas reserves.

    This is a war of conquest. Discovered in 2000, there are extensive gas reserves off the Gaza coastline.

    British Gas (BG Group) and its partner, the Athens based Consolidated Contractors International Company (CCC) owned by Lebanon’s Sabbagh and Koury families, were granted oil and gas exploration rights in a 25 year agreement signed in November 1999 with the Palestinian Authority.

    The rights to the offshore gas field are respectively British Gas (60 percent); Consolidated Contractors (CCC) (30 percent); and the Investment Fund of the Palestinian Authority (10 percent). (Haaretz, October 21, 2007).

    The PA-BG-CCC agreement includes field development and the construction of a gas pipeline.(Middle East Economic Digest, Jan 5, 2001).

    The BG licence covers the entire Gazan offshore marine area, which is contiguous to several Israeli offshore gas facilities. (See Map below). It should be noted that 60 percent of the gas reserves along the Gaza-Israel coastline belong to Palestine.

    The BG Group drilled two wells in 2000: Gaza Marine-1 and Gaza Marine-2. Reserves are estimated by British Gas to be of the order of 1.4 trillion cubic feet, valued at approximately 4 billion dollars. These are the figures made public by British Gas. The size of Palestine’s gas reserves could be much larger… see more; maps, etc.

    All of the emotional ‘diatribe’ and senseless going back and forth about Israel/Palestine/Hamas, etc, etc., CANNOT be properly understood, or even grasped, until one has an honest look at the ‘facts’ from a Biblical perspective, which turns many off, BUT, this is where it all began, confirmed over and over again by many archaeological findings, that what the Bibical narrative state, is in fact correct and true; that the ‘Jews’ were in fact settled in this ‘land’ though dispersed by God for disobedience and idolatry, around (c. 735-715 BC) , to Assyrian dominance; and again under Nebuchadnezzar, the Babylonian King, in (c. 587 BC).

    Prior to their return to their ancient homeland, in May, 1948, in A.D. 135 the Romans captured and destroyed Jerusalem, as they had in A.D. 70. This time the Emperor Hadrian rebuilt the city, naming it Aelia Capitolina, and decreed that no Jew should enter it.

    One of the ‘myths’ perperuated by the PLO and other Arab states over the last 60 years, is that Israel displaced the Palestinians, and ‘occupied’ their land. This IS a LIE, plain and simple.

    FACT: Israel HAS NOT taken the place of ANY previously existing independent Arab state in Palestine. Prior to the British Mandate, Palestine had been under Ottoman domination for about 400 years. There WAS NEVER an independent Arab state in Palestine.

    FACT: The legitimacy of Zionism and of the State of Israel has been internationally recognized – by the Balfour Declaration (1917), by the Representatives of the Arabs at the 1919 Peace Conference, by the League of Nations (the terms of the 1922 Mandate), and by the United Nations, in 1947.

    This is just scratching the surface of the historic facts, which many are either ignorant of, OR, wilfully refuse to consider.

    Then why is there a UN resolution that states otherwise?
    Are they lying?
    Is the same amount of land given to them in 1948, the same as they own today?

    Right on.

    The Gaza was previously Egypt and the West Bank pertained to Jordan. Both these territories were annexed by Israel after the 1967 war in which the combined Arab countries attacked Israel in a war of aggression.
    Israel fought them off and was left in possession of both the west bank and all of the Sinai. It later returned this land to Egypt in return for peace. Egypt did NOT want the Gaza bank and still refuses to open its crossings into the Gaza.
    Jordan only gave up its claim to the West Bank when it was no longer in its possession.
    The original area called by the Romans Palestine covered a vast area which includes todays Syria Lebanon Jordan and Israel.

    Before getting into the Balfour Declaration of 1917, the Ottoman Turkish control, which lasted for almost 400 years, the Holy Land reached its ultimate state of desolation, when the absentee lanlords, known as ‘effendis’ practiced such calloused usury and taxation on the poor Arab farmers, they were eventually overwhelmed with debt and fled the land.

    By the beginning of the nineteenth century, every report from the Holy Land spoke of the absense of any settled people apart from a few villages and towns. Terrible conditions prevailed of the land, and vast desolation between villages,

    Now, what is vitally important to remember, IS this, we have also seen the Arab-Muslim world of the nineteenth century Middle East, WAS without national entities. Why” Because all semblances of independent Arab states and any kind of nationalism were crushed during the harsh Ottoman occupation. All that was left were Tribal sheikdoms that warred with each other constantly, and the small Arab Hashemite Kingdom that controlled Mecca and Medina.

    WHENCE COMETH THE PALESTINIANS?

    There were NO Palestinian state or people known as “Palestinians.” The few Arabic-speaking people living there considered themselves “Ottomans” “Turks”, “Southern Syrians” or simply ‘Arab people’, but never ‘Palestinians.” The migratory Bedouins who seasonally moved through the area NEVER laid claim to the land.

    The beginning of the ‘land’ starting to flourish again, occured only when the ‘Jews’ began in earnest returing to the Holy Land, exactly as prophesied in God’s Word, the Bible. This development by the Jews, encouraged a significant number of poor Arab-Muslims to flock to there in order to find work and a better standard of living. The Jews actually became victims of their own success; little did they realize the very ones they were helping would TURN and claim Jews had stolen their land that had belonged to Arab families for hundreds of years.

    While, in fact, most of the so-called Palestinian refugees couldn’t establish to UN workers sent to help, they had been in Palestine more than TWO years prior to their exodus, a pilgrimage designed to CLEAR the way for Arab armies to annihilate the new state of Israel.

    We cannot get this mess, into any true historical perspective until we remember when the Arab Population each became a State after the fall of the Ottoman Empire.

    I won’t list all, but give a few of them beginning with Lebanon, French Mandate 1920; Independent Republic 1944, 2 Million. Syria, French Mandate 1920, Independent Republic 1943; 5.5 Million. Trans Jordan, British Mandate 1920, Independent Kingdom 1946, 2 Million. Egypt, British Mandate 1914, Independent Kingdom 1922. Republic 1053, 26 Million. Saudi Arabia Independent Kingdom 1927, 6 Million.

    Now, the actual Balfour Declaration of 1917, was a rather simple statement commiting Britain to work toward the establishment of a Jewish homeland in an area of vast wasteland designated as Palestinian territory.

    With its passage in Parliment, Lord Balfour said, “We hope that the ‘small notch” of Palestine being given the Jews would not be “grudged” by the Arab leaders.”

    Interestingly, the borders on the Balfour Mandate for Israel, extended to the borders of Iraq and Arabia.

    On Januray 4, 1919, a formal agreement on this mandated Jewish homeland was signed in London. The signatories were: His Royal Highness the Emir Feisal ibn-Hussein, representing and acting on behalf of the Arab Kingdom of Hedjaz, and Chaim Weitzman, representing and acting on behalf of the Zionist Organization.

    A Jewish state was to be established as soon as Jewish immigration and development was sufficient in the barren wilderness of Palestine.

    The boundaries of this new nation were codified and approved unanimously by the League of Nations three years after the Balfour Declaration.

    The territory for Israel, then variously referred to as “Palestine” “Western Palestine”, “South Syria” or even part of Turkey, extended east and west of the Jordan River from the Mediterranean to Arabia and Iraq, and north and south from Egypt to Lebanon and Syria.

    Simultaneously, independent Arab statehood was being granted in Syria, Iraq and Saudi Arabia. The land originally given was considered bigger than today’s Jewish state, even including the territories captured in June 1967. Evidence shows Arab leaders were initially satisfied with their acquisition and didn’t question the status of the Jewish state.

    Britian hands the Arabs an enormous gift in their new independent statehood, which they did little to earn it. This is precisely why Lord Balfour could not imagine they would “begrudge the small notch of land” the Jews were given.

    Britian Gives Away 75% of the Jews’ Mandated Land.

    Yes, this actually happened, because it wasn’t long before Abdullah, brother of Feisal ibn Hussein, decided he should have Transjordan as his Kingdom. He protested to the British who unilaterally decided to CARVE out of Jewish state, 75 percent of its mandated territory, then known as Transjordan, and hand it over to Abdullah..

    The League of Nations Mandate for the Jews, remained unchanged, even though Britian had unilaterally altered its map and its purpose. The Mandate included Transjordan until 1946, when that land was declared the DE JURE Arab state inPalestine just two years before Israel gained its Jewish statehood in the remaining one-quarter of Palestine; Transjordan comprised nearly 38,000 square miles; Israel, less than 8,000 square miles.

    Present day Jordan, for all intent and purpose IS the Palestinian State.

    The point that most fail to understrand and grasp, IS, that the ISSUE has never been LAND, the real issue with the PLO and other like minded Arab states, IS THE ANNIHILATION OF THE JEWISH OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH, stated over and over again, and the ‘poor’ so-called Palestinians, have been USED as scape-goats, for very selfish political reasons, of other Arab leaders, for this purpose.

    Institutionalised Anti-Semitism.

    “The Resurrection of the dead will not come until the Muslims will war with the Jews and the Muslims will KILL them…the trees and ricks will say, ‘O Muslim, here is a Jew behind me, come and KILL HIM.’” (The Prophet Mohammad).

    “The power struggle between Israel and the Arabs is a long-term historical trial. Victory or defeat are for US questions of EXISTENCE or ANNIHILATION, the outcome of an irreconcilable hatred.” (Al Riyadh Suad, Founder of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).

    “The war is open until Israel CEASES TO EXIST and until the last Jew in the world is ELIMINATED.” (Hamas Leader).

    ROK, nothing that Technician could say regarding this debate, can trouble me, is IS not informed enough to think critically, objectively, truthfully, regarding this most ancient of conflicts, which IS the very ‘apex’ of all fulfillment of Biblical prophecy, unfolding exactly as God’s Word, the Bible, said it would. Watch and see.

    Who has caused this terrible human trajedy in the first place? Who fired over 8000 rockets INTO Israeli civilian territory over the last seven or eight years? Hamas DID!

    That ‘term’ OCCUPATION is just another classic example of Arab ‘turnspeak’ a cynical INVERTING of the facts, to make the victim, ‘Israel’ look and appear as the aggressor, A LIE FROM THE PIT OF HELL!

    From the time in 1948, when the Jews went back to their ancient homeland, the Arabs have relentlessly attempted to annihilate her off the map, first in 1948-49, 1956, 1967, and 1973, BUT, they cannot, why not?

    Because Almighty God who decreed:

    “This is what the Lord says, he who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night, who stirs up the seas so that its waves roar – the LORD Almighty is His name: Only if these decrees vanish from My sight,’ declares the Lord, ‘Will the descendants of ISRAEL ever CEASE TO BE A NATION BEFORE ME.’” (Jehovah, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Jeremiah 31: 35-36 NIV) emphasis added.

    Even though the Allies won the war, the British Empire cam to an end. Britian is only a shadow of its former glory. This was NOT coincidence. It was a direct result of the British betrayal of the Jewish people and the Jewish nation, when they CARVED 75% of the mandated land and gave it to Jordan. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob still keeps His Word, “…I WILL CURSE THOSE WHO CURSE YOU.”

    Now, the USA is the main party pushing Israel into further reduction of land originally allotted to it. They are foolishly pushing Israel to accept a Palestinian state filled with Muslims terrorist, whose sole intent and purpose is to DESTROY the state of Israel for Allah!

    The PLO and other terrorists organizations, ARE NOT AFTER land, they just want to get close enough to the borders of Israel, and when capable enough with Nuclear might, to ANNIHILATE the state of Israel.

    Israel has sought repeatedly to make ‘peace’ and every time it brings more attacks on her civilian population, BECAUSE, the terrorists DO NOT WANT PEACE.

    How do you sit down with Terrorists and make peace, when they have openly stated, again and again, that their sole purpose and intention, IS TO DESTROY YOU.

    For God sake people, wake up and realize what the hard facts and truth are in this ancient conflict!

Remember when the big bad US ran into Iraq and the Republican Guard pulled back and pulled them into their turf and then turned up the heat on their asses, that what’s going on in Palestine now.     Why is Hamas firing all those rockets when they know the chances are hitting someone is minimal?

    In my opinion if the zionists want to live in peace ,tell them go back to europe or america and form a country there. Before 1947 they were more Jews in europe/u.s./russia than they were in all of the Ottoman empire.
    Can you imagine, out of every country in this living world only the Jews say that jurusalem is thier capital. no one else ,not even America.On top of that , its the UNDIVIDED capital of israel.that means the palestians cant have it as long as jews are around.so much for peace.

    GP is a christian but he has never shown the type of arrogance in dismissing another persons beliefs.

    On a more factual note….we can go right back up to the garden of Eden but the bottom line in this conflict, is justice and equality.
    60 years ago , I can bet you that the families of the Israelis were nowhere near Gaza but I bet you can find 5 generations of these Palestinians….dispute that!!

    The UN had up flags,had the buildings marked…….and get this one….this takes the cake……gave the IDF the GPS coordinates of their buildings well in advance of the attacks…….we all know the rest.

    To ALL of you, that erroneously and stupidly seek to defend the ‘TERRORIST’ agenda against the legitimate right of Israel to exist in their ancient, historic homeland, which can be ‘denied’ BUT, cannot be refuted with any sense of facts, reason, objectivity, nor logic; and absolutely NO alternative, BUT to resorting to using a number of unsound methods and means in support of your spurious line of argument, i.e., by using ‘Straw men’ that is, utter mischaracterizing the opposing position, and then attacking and arguing against the mischaracterizing.

    You also use ‘False authority’ by reading many pseudo sources of information, who themselves, have one purpose and agenda, to discredit the ‘facts’ ‘evidence’ and truth, by using a component of an argument which, being demonstrably flawed in its Logic or form, renders the argument invalid in whole.

    In effect, your criterion is seriously flawed, because it is terribly biased, blatantly refusing to consider ‘All’ of the evidence, the preponderance of which overwhelmingly support the historic ‘facts’ that Israel’s position for their right to their ‘homeland’ goes back over 3000 years, which can be denied, BUT, cannot be soundly refuted.

    As Martin Luther King, once said, “Facts are stubborn things, and only the stubborn (or ignorant) refuse to accept them.”

    The terrorists are the Israelis and their supporters, including you. How can you quote Martin Luther King in the same breath? You realise that you are the stubborn one that refusing to accept facts?

    These people that calling themselves Israel are frauds and to my mind only used the word Israel to try to legitimately claim land that is not theirs. They do not carry the character of the people who were called Israel by God. So what are you supporting? Certainly not God’s word???

    If you are supporting the terrorist called Israel you yourself would have to be a terrorist How can you condone genocide.

    Let me say to you that you have no idea of God’s plans and you should do the right thing. You cannot support genocide. I keep telling you people that trying to interpret the Bible to suit yourself, how cruel you become in your interpretation; it is like a fanatic; no rhyme or reason, blind faith in what is not there.

    People like you are dangerous, because if you were president of the USA, you would help Israel kill out the Palestinians in the name of righteousness and that is not your option. How could you support such violence and aggression?

    How many versions of the Bible are there?

    @ Carlos…. You speak as though you gather all your information from CNN or FOX NEWS ,then artistically regurgitate imperialistic propaganda on this blog.

    You said that the Hammas use the refugees as human shields. Can you show me a country that occupy a designated area of land which is used just for war purposes ? The US army never use civilians as human shields because they are usually the invaders. You never documented the number of strayed Tamohawk cruise missiles landing on roofs of the Iraqi civilians.
