No doubt a few bloggers would have been swayed, by the global scale of events over the past months, to concede that our world is at the beginning of a period of turmoil of unprecedented proportions. Indeed, my good friend Micro Mock Engineer has gone strangely quiet on me – no doubt a result of his having carefully read the article entitled ‘The Collapse of Civilization’ recently headlined in no less a publication that New Scientist (April 2008).

With even our most conservative scientists, economist, sociologist and even optimists now resigned to the realization that global chaos is imminent, Bush Tea no longer has any need or indeed any desire, to continue to warn of the chaotic ending of phase 1 of ‘Project Life on earth’ which most of us will be experiencing in the coming months and years.

In the event however that a few bloggers may be interested in an understanding of the larger picture, and of the unbelievably glorious objectives that are being pursued through the project that I like to call ‘Project Life on Earth’, I would like to take the opportunity to advise on some of what we can expect in the coming months and years.

The basic reality is that we have come to the end of a crucial phase of a project initiated by a set of Big Boss Engineers (BBE). That phase was provided for human beings – “micro mock engineers” created in the form and likeness of the BBEs, but specifically limited by time and space to the project laboratory – Earth. Phase 1 was a period provided for embryonic development and growth of MME character to the point where it would be ready for the next phase.

Absolutely perfect conditions have been provided in this Earth laboratory for the cultivation and development of the only MME asset that is of any real lasting value … Character.

Centuries of history has been accumulated by the project, more than adequate to provide guidance to any wise onlookers of the futility of ‘accumulating riches here on earth’; more than enough to teach us that war, hate, envy, and greed are futile and counter productive; and more than enough to suggest the existence of a bigger, far better project objective that extends way beyond phase 1.

Despite everything that points to the folly of the priorities that we have generally set for ourselves as MMEs, we continue in the face of everything, to set our hopes and aspirations on achieving ‘success’ through greed, war, hate and envy – to accumulate riches which we will die and leave behind – as we have seen others do for endless centuries now….

Well!!! WE HAVE REACHED THE END OF THIS PHASE. The Laboratory, Earth, will no longer be required in the present configuration and we are ‘lucky’ enough to be living through the transformation – which will be traumatic. For those with ears to hear, and eyes to see, here is Bush Tea’s advice. We can forget everything that has been considered ‘normal’ for the past centuries.

Global warming is only the beginning. We can expect to have turmoil in the weather, in interpersonal relations, in international relations (read major WAR coming soon), in energy, food and water supplies, and in diseases and health issues as the phase ends.

The best analogy of the overall process is of the conception, pregnancy and birth of a new child. We have now reached the last week of the ninth month of pregnancy. All the mother’s systems are strained.

After settling into its comfort zone in the womb (limited in time and space) for nine months, the baby’s world is about to be shattered; the Baby’s home is about to undergo radical and traumatic change; there will be great pain and much danger.

One could understand that, left to its own choice, a baby may wish to hold on to the ‘security’ of the warm womb and the reassuring beat of its’ mother’s heart. But that traumatic birth process is the beginning of a whole new experience leading to much wider boundaries and time frames as an individual person.

So, with a birth, the good news is that this is but a natural part of the process of creating new life. Similarly, the end of phase one is nothing but the dawn of an exciting and far more enlightened phase of BBE’s project ‘Life on Earth’.

It must indeed be a great blessing to be one of those who have matured in character and have grown to the stage where they are ready for ‘birth’. Such MMEs would be in a position to look forward to the coming new phase with the hope of an exciting new scope, expanded boundaries and radical new awareness.

In any event, it is pointless hanging on to the umbilical cord praying for an extension to the pregnancy. We have reached the fullness of time. It is only for the labour pains to now signal the new dispensation.

  1. So don’t forget to cook meat thoroughly, always brush after meals and don’t drive without a seat belt.

  2. Yes, Bush Tea, you are absolutely correct, but, unfortunately multitudes just do not want to believe what God’s Word, the Bible, has warned us would happen at the close of this ‘age’ world wide chaos, in an unprecedented manner, all converging in and at the same ‘season.’

God made it very clear, that He is the ‘One’ who brings about ‘earthquakes’ (Luke 21:11) that He is in control of the rise and fall of nations.

“But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose MINDS the god of this age (Satan) has blinded, who do NOT believe, lest the LIGHT of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them” (2 Cor. 4:3-4) emphasis added.

Again, “Hearing you will hear, and shall NOT UNDERSTAND, and seeing you will see and NOT PERCEIVE” (Matt. 13:10-11, 13-14) emphasis added.

God has allowed human beings to go their own way. What has been the result? Human nature and human ideas – under the sway of Satan, the invisible ‘god of this age’ have produced enormous sufferings, anguish and death. This has to be so, because, as God’s Word tell us:

“There is a way that SEEMS right to a man, but its end is the WAY OF DEATH” (Prov. 14:12) emphasis added.

Most people do it as Frank Sinatra’s famous recording, “I Did It My Way,’ and it always lead to destruction and death.

This is the time, which has already begun, and over the next several years, that Almighty God will increase His intervention in human affairs AS NEVER BEFORE! He is going to shake the nations until men’s heart will fail them for fear.

The massive financial crisis that is about to cripple the US, and many other nations, is just the beginning, and many Western nations will start to experience earthquakes, etc, etc., as usual, the ‘smart alecks’ who write about ‘The God Delusion’ and other such rubbish will begin to be shaken by the realization that God is “real’ after all.

Many will deny the reality of what is unfolding before our very eyes and ears, as God warned it would be. BUT, they simply cannot refute it!

  3. @Bt

We read your submission and it provides much food for thought. The premise of your argument obviously has a Christian basis and here is where we have a query. The world as you know it is drugged on a heavy dose of relativism, and to use your argument will not resonate with the large agnostic/atheist population which appears to be growing by the minute. So if you are preaching to converted what happens to those people who have no capacity to absorb and rationalize what you are saying?

it seems as a Christian household if we use our simple logic the end is imminent indeed. Can we hope for a game change before the end?

  4. Bush Tea….. What phase 1 are you referring to? Mankind has been on this planet for thousands of years. What global warming are you talking about? What civilization are you talking about? There is no way you can look at this experiment in the west and call it civilization. First thing you have to look at is how it came into existence? From the onset of this charade we’ve had nothing but mass murder. This is just the collapse of a filthy, stinking, corrupt, evil system which was manipulated into existence by a few and it is inevitable that it will self-destruct, hence the birth of a new and hopefully, peaceful system and I hope I will be able to live through it and see the end of this demonic, satanic system. Yes the earth will be in total upheaval both natural and man-made, but I welcome it with open arms. Only then, can the Almighty’s creation live in peace and harmony with self and nature with all man-made constructs eliminated. By the way you don’t need any damn conservative scientists, economists, sociologist nor optimists to decipher what has been going on and what the end result will be. You can speak to some elders and shamans, those who rely on their sixth sense, those who are in touch with the oneness of creation and they can decipher it for you. (No need for a college/university degreed person, they are dishonest and clueless).

  5. To be perfectly truthful David I do not even know what ‘Christian’ is…. Nor do I really care that much.

My temptation, like sarahpalin, is to continue to floss, and at my age, keep my blood pressure down and watch my diet.

Unfortunately, I was always ‘nosey’ by nature and from small, it never made much sense that all our efforts seemed part of a meaningless cycle.

I REALLY ASKED AND LOOKED with an open mind, for a real meaning, and learned about BBE and the project, and over the last 30 years it just continues to make more and more sense to me.

    That’s it!!
    *********************************

My instincts are to assume that anything that ‘most people do’ is nonsense. Eventually I will be found wanting, but in the last 25 years it has worked for me.

…besides I am NOT preaching. I could not care less who believes me….and I do not really expect anyone to actually DO anything different because of what I say.

Before the end of next year, we will be having a different kind of exchange, I promise you. When that time comes, maybe some persons will be spared the fear of the unknown, that comes from not being aware of the bigger picture.

To all others, keep on flossing and brushing…

  6. …tek it easy Hopi. yuh going kill muh? Skipper, I agree with every thing yuh say.

Anyway, I was NOT referring specifically to the west, but to ALL societies. The phase I talk about is the thousands of years where mankind has been given control of the earth and have tried many various means to establish workable civilizations.

Essentially what I am saying is that we have generally missed the WHOLE point of the project- which is NOT principally to create wealth on earth, but to create righteous CHARACTER which reaches a stage that allows one to be ‘born’ into a new phase of existence.

…anyway it is a long and confusing story…..

I love you for saying it the way you said it FRIEND! I couldnt have said it better

  8. Bush Tea, welcome back.

Thanks for the piece. You sound just like my Sheik friend. He makes money hands over fist and keeps giving it away. He says as long as the wife is happy in her nice ‘home’, that is all that matters. You cant take it with you.

I have another friend, a Hindu, she is not rich, but she likes to feed the community. What is important to her is having good friends, having people say she has a good mind and is kind and generous. Bank accounts, big house, fancy cars mean nothing to her. They both believe in Karma. Those two will survive any turmoil. They take life in stride.

Hopi is a historian. She has followed the ways of man since ancient times. She is very well read. In times gone, people would call her a pagan, others a witch. But, I think she is a naturalist like the Native Indians up here. She, too, talks sense. It has to be a she.

On another vein, a Catholic came by for some of my pudding and souse yesterday and said that if Martin Luther King was a Catholic, he would be made a saint, as his predictions are coming true. I think she was referring to the US election and the possibility that there will be a black in the White House. We will wait and see…..

  9. Here we go again. Do we, or do we not… have a free will? Free to do this or to do that? To chose this or chose that?

If there was such a thing as a predetermined ‘prophesy’ it would mean the particular ‘happening’ is cast in stone and is unavoidable.

If events were/are cast in concrete, what’s the use of attempting to live and do in a certain way… we may as well throw up our hands and care less about nothing.

On the other hand if we do have free will, then we can turn the steering wheel and navigate around the obstacle.

I think we have this faculty and all this talk about ‘prophesy’ – which is the darling of religions – intrigues the credulous ones who can’t think for themselves.

Quoting from the Original Comic Book, not withstanding.

  10. Hopi should pose fa Playboy… Bush Tea too ol’..!

Nope. I don’ buy any of it. I will never underestimate this animal called a Capitalist. It is a primordial being. I remember when Branford Taitt said “The era of cheap oil is over!”

    I tell ya..

  11. Pat…. Come On. Why ya gotta be so sexist?

BAFBFP… Are you homo, hetero or somewhere betwix and between?

Centipede… “On the other hand…..” Yes many of us do have free will. Its called good vs evil. That’s why you have blood-letting invaders, “insurgents” and “freedom-fighters”. You see there are many of us who are resisting this sewer system. Some in a violent way, some quietly and some, with the pen, but we are resisting it, hereby carving out our own destiny. And NO, we will not navigate around the obstacle, we will break through it and eradicate it and not leave it to continue havoc in the future.

  12. Yea ..but first ya gotta master of the art of relating.. uh that means getting the message across… I think posing for a magazine is your better option.

Don’ knock it! People have made calendars and raised plenty plenty awareness for a cause…

  13. Wait BAFBFP!! you betta know yuh place yuh…. Bush Tea may be ol’ but he aint cold…
you ain’t feel dat Playboy could use the Bush man too?!?!

    Bush tea,

The flaw in the argument of doomsdayers cited in that New Scientist article is best summed up in this statement made towards the end of the article “Innovation itself might be subject to diminishing returns, or perhaps absolute limits”.
The only tipping point we face is the number of people who actually believe this to be true… the classic Pygmalion effect in action. I agree, Phase 1 will end if humans stop innovating… but then, your allegorical pregnancy would have ended in miscarriage.

Our systems may be fragile at the moment, but it is not correct to surmise that increasing complexity necessarily brings increasing fragility… this error in thinking is precisely what differentiates scientists from engineers. Fragility is a function of design, and can be engineered (i.e. fixed)… and we can see this pregnancy through to full term (>2029 🙂 ), provided influential leaders like you don’t succumb to shikata ga nai.

… I am reminded of the exchange between ‘Steam the Philosopher’ and the rivets in Rudyard Kipling’s short story “The ship that found herself”…

“If you go, others will follow,” hissed the Steam. “There’s nothing so contagious in a boat as rivets going.”

  16. Duppy
They all got it wrong. The date realy is 21,12,2112 that is a hundred and four years from now. Oh you romantics, don’t rush it.

    Bush man
How about Scientific American or National Geographic? LOL.. I konw you gotta sense ah humour… keep good!

  17. Hopi: ‘good’ and ‘evil’ are personal interpretations.

The question is about predestination or as some would rather say, ‘prophesy.’ ~

Are ‘things in the future’ immutably fixed? and no matter what we do they will happen?

OR do we have the ability to neutralize them … whether by navigating around, or “breaking straight through?”

  18. When one has time one one’s hands and a fertile mind, wonderful inventions can emanate. A name like Einstein comes to mind. If one is less fortunate, however, the idle mind can also produce even more wonderful results.

While on sabatical at the Green Gate Hotel, Inmate 254 observed Inmate 255 for some considerable time, since he had time on his hands, making strenuous motions as if he was sawing a plank of wood.

On being asked the reason for this activity, Inmate 255 responded…”Man, if you don’t find something to do in this place you will go mad as shight.”

Later that night Inmate 254 came across Inmate 255 crouching at the bottom of the ten foot guard wall holding what we call a searchlight. “I find a way out of here, 254, hold this searchlight upright for me, turn it on and hold it steady. I gine climb up the beam, over the wall and outa here”

And that, my friends, is how some people escape from the Green Gate Hotel and resume their writings on the blogs.

  19. Senior Corporate Executives Warned to Leave N.Y. on 9/11: Source

    November 3, 2008

    by Jeremy R. Hammond

Foreign Policy Journal has learned that senior executives of a major U.S. international corporation may have been warned to leave New York on September 11, 2001.

According to an inside source, one of the senior executives of the corporation told him beforehand that “something big” was going to occur and so other corporate executives would be travelling out of New York.

The source, who spoke to the Journal on the condition of anonymity, worked at a European branch of the media giant Warner Bros. He served as the number two under the managing director of that office, a man with whom he had developed a close personal friendship. His boss was also friends with one of the senior executives at the head office in Los Angeles. According to the source, he had been told by his director that the executive in L.A. had formerly worked for the CIA and still kept in touch with the agency.

It is not an uncommon practice for the CIA to recruit business executives, particularly individuals who do a lot of international travelling and might be able to use their business contacts to gather information.

The CIA is also known to have recruited journalists and media executives. According to Carl Bernstein, the former Washington Post reporter who worked with Bob Woodward breaking open the Watergate story during the Nixon administration, executives who lent their cooperation to the CIA included Henry Luce of Time Inc., founder of Time and Life magazines. C.D. Jackson, a Time Inc. vice-president and publisher of Life magazine until his death in 1964, approved arrangements to provide the CIA with cover under Time-Life, according to an article Bernstein wrote for Rolling Stone magazine in 1977.

When the managing director of the overseas Warner Bros. office passed away, the individual who spoke with the Journal was contacted by the senior executive from L.A. about the plans for the memorial service. Senior executives from the company would attend, including from the Warner Bros. parent corporation, Time Warner, headquartered in New York.

When he answered that one of the potential dates for the service was September 11, he was told that would be no good because “something big is happening that day” and the top executives from the New York office would all be travelling out of the city.

When asked further about this big event, the executive replied that it was a confidential matter and disclosed no further details, except to say that it was “not corporate”.

The source told the Journal, “I had no reason to think that the ‘event’ could be anything more than perhaps a junket, an out of town think tank exercise or whatever – I remember that these possibilities ran through my mind.”

But after 9/11, thinking back upon the conversation, he grew more curious and tried to ascertain where the board members had been that day. They had indeed been out of New York, he says, travelling not to one location, but each to their own destination. Destinations included overseas locations such as Paris, London, and Amsterdam.

  20. @MME: What a beautiful anthropomorphic story.

I guess the question is, are our systems still finding their place? Or are we stupid humans still adjusting them for our own (individual) short-term advantage?

  21. @All… Just a wild question…

Is our Library open yet? I’m looking forward to donating some books.

    (Just putting that out there…)

  22. You do not have a library? How do your young learn to think for themselves?

  23. shut up we don’t want them to think it hurts our bottom line

  24. @Micro Mock Engineer

As usual an interesting and thought provoking rebuttal on the New Scientist article. Spoken like a true hermit engineer. Indeed in different circumstances, Bush Tea would be tempted to support the line of argument.

Unfortunately, the argument is fatally flawed. In the entire history of mankind, I challenge you to provide any empirical evidence to support the unlimited innovative human capacity on which you stake your hope.
Indeed MME, I would suggest that evidence over the past 40 years, when more practising engineers and scientists have been alive than the combined total for all of previous history, clearly suggest a direct relationship between ‘innovation’ and the magnitude of the threat to human civilization.

We created some beautiful things like industrialization and medicines and transport systems but also weapons of mass destruction, aids, the illegal drug scourge, and new cancers.
Indeed the jury is still out on the extent on which the positives outweigh the negatives.
The real truth is, as the New Scientist article suggests, that there IS a limit to our ability to innovate, and furthermore, that the Earth laboratory in which we are constrained is limited, complex and fragile.

The kind of innovation that is required to reverse our downward spiral is beyond mere MMEs. We can not expect a MME to do a BBE job – even one as gifted as you are MME….

  25. Micro Mock Engineer Avatar
    Micro Mock Engineer

    Bush tea,

You are right, of course… there is a direct correlation between innovation (i.e. mastery of matter) and the magnitude of the threat to civilization… indeed, the challenge this presents is a scaled down (micro mock) version of the ultimate test of character… if we can’t manage this, how will we ever cope with omnipotence?

“…the Earth laboratory in which we are constrained is limited, complex and fragile.”

    🙂

… I like that smart trick you trying to pull on me.

Our laboratory extends well beyond this planet. In fact, BBE has provided us with a lab that is staggering in terms of its sheer scale wouldn’t you say? To make matters worse, the lab is under permanent expansion… >48.1 gigaparsecs across when I last checked this morning :-). Stranded asset or necessary expansion?

You are about to see three revolutions (computer, biotech and quantum) collide with spectacular results… the mastery of matter.

Superconductivity, nanotechnology, nuclear fusion, metamaterials, space colonisation, teleportation (quantum entanglement)…

… hold tight BT… you en see nuttin yet.

  26. I’m already holding tight, tight, MME. …WE both ain’t seen nuttin yet…. but you will..

  27. Bush tea has too much time on his hands ( r according to him may be not so LOL) … Obama won the election. The fundamentalists are no longer a significant political force in the USA …. Good riddance to bad rubbish. And prop 8 was defeated in California!

  28. my mistake on prop 8 ( I take that one back)

  29. @Self: “Is our Library open yet?

    I ask this again…

Do we in Barbados have a Library?

If not, is this not a national disgrace and embarrassment?
