barack-obamaAs Barack Obama glides,”not effortlessly” to the white house, the demands on him have become more strident.

The queue of “expectation” for Barack Obama, has already started to form. He has not become President, but Prime Ministers, leaders and other interest groups have decided what they should have. In this staking out of vested interest, are we – those who wish him well – in danger of blanketing off this flower of hope?

In addition to those living in the high altitude of expectancy. There are others who have decreed the cupboard is already bare. Libyan President Colonel Muammar Gaddafi has already said Obama will be of no use to the Palestinans. He believes he is too closely tied to the cause of Israel…he cannot deliver for the Palestinans, he intones.

Further to the south – of Africa – they expect much of him. No doubt they believe his father’s blood – Kenyan – will somehow influence decisions in their favour.

As if not to be outdone, closer to home. Caribbean leaders plan to make their voices heard. They are uncomfortable with the Senator’s opinion about the proposed banking system Legislation and the impact it would have on the Caribbean region. They plan to get in early and could well make a play at the Caribbean Community Leaders Summit in New York.

Did you notice, I have not even mentioned America and Americans. The people who will vote him in or not, as the case might be. Within that mix there are those who wish him success…just for change. But first there is the little issue of getting the working class white vote, Hilary’ Clinton’s people to show some optimism. If they can, he might just be a shoe-in.

That is a long was a-way, expectation yes! However, I hope he is not overburdened with it. It would be a pity if Obama has to be a “miracle worker”, just to be a good President of America. I hope that will not be the case. There is even the case of him – Obama – being careful about his body language. He greeted his wife with a fist bump…innocent you might think. Oh no! not for Fox News channel presenter Ed Hill, who introduced an item with the words:

“A fist bump? A pound? A terrorist fist Jab?”

“The comment was quickly removed from public view and despite a half-hearted apology, so was Hill: Fox News cancelled the show.”

It is a long road to travel in becoming President of America…and longer still if you are Barack Obama.

  1. Yardbroom Obama has started well. He is up 6% over Mcaclain in the last national poll.

  2. Mr Obama is like John the Baptist in the bible. He is just the forerunner of some-one else to come. Even if he becomes president( and I hope he does) he can only prepare the wicket for acceptance of blacks. this can’t happen in 4 or 8 yrs. What he needs is the support of the blacks and the marketing by blacks all over that all we need is equal opportunity. This would be his role as the first black president of USA.

  4. Being a black man he does have a heavy cross to bear. However, I do concur with the Col. No sooner had he become the nominee his first stop was at AIPAC which was an affront to the Palestininan ppl and I am sure an affront to all people of good, humane conscience. He was practically on his knees pledging them the US taxpayers money $30.bil. Since 1948 the Palestinian people have been subjected to some of the most inhumane treatment on this planet. Do you know what it is to have to give birth going through a checkpoint? And thanks to the fanatic christians amongst us who believe that the “jews” are god’s chosen ppl, they are allowed to brutalise the Palestinian with impunity. How many resolutions were passed in the UN against israel and how many did they adhere to? Yet, Barack falls prostrate before them. This is madness. I’m yet to meet an independent US President, these people are always controlled by other forces and if they ever get out of line they are JFK’d. Just watch how this game is played out before us.

  5. Poor Obama … please remember that he is running for President of the USA not the Palestinian Authority, or Kenya or the Caribbean. He must (and will) satisfy US national interests which may be and often are at odds with the rest of the world.

Remember that the Clinton Administration agressively destroyed the Caribbean Bananna Sector, was attempting to do same thing to our offshore financial sector (which Obama promises to do) and was generally not supportative of economic development in the Caribbean as it pushed the Free Trade of the Americas agenda.

OK a black President will be a nice feel good moment until he squeezes our backsides like all the other white presidents did.

Explain to me how Mr Obama is like John the Baptist in the bible? And explain for whom he is a forerunner. Seems to me that you have a poor analogy there Sir!

I hope he becomes president so that Profanity & Bill Oreilly will have to eat crow.
If he does he will them preside over the next step towards the demise of the USA.

You see all the evidence appears that the USA will soon reach rock bottom (something that I will be happy to see) as the Euro nations take charge (the ten toes of the image in Daniel’s vision.)

This will herald the rise of the antichrist.

Know what? The true church (in contrast to the harlot of Revelation 17) would have been taken up to heaven prior to this.

    Wow! Good times ahead!

  7. Georgie Porgie
If McCain becomes president, would all these things you talk about happen too? I said Obama is like Jorn the Baptiste because he would be opening doors for the black race. He would have raise the bar for blacks to strive towards whether it’s in USA or any of the other 1st would nations. You got a problem with that?

  8. Presumptive Democratic nominee for President of the USA speaks to Afro-American men. Maybe this is what The Scout is talking about.

Talking tough on Father’s Day, Senator Obama challenged African-American men on Sunday to play more of a role in raising their children and warned them that “responsibility doesn’t just end at conception.”

“Too many fathers are MIA. Too many fathers are AWOL,” he told a huge African-American congregation in Chicago. “There’s a hole in your heart if you don’t have a male figure in the home that can guide you and lead you and set a good example for you.”

“What makes you a man is not the ability to have a child — any fool can have a child,” he said, to applause. “That doesn’t make you a father. It’s the courage to raise a child that makes you a father.”

Obama drew laughs when he talked about gyrating portrayals of him in the media: “That was when I wasn’t black enough. Now I’m too black.” Responding to cheers and applause, he added ruefully, “Y’all remember.”

Obama said parents can’t use lack of government resources as an “excuse” for not doing anything for their children: “As fathers and as parents, we’ve got to spend more time with them, and help them with their homework, and turn off the TV set once in a while, turn off the video game and the remote control and read a book to your child.”

The point about the remote is one Obama often makes on the campaign trail, always to big applause.

Obama met this week with evangelical ministers, and the speech could help him reach out to family-oriented conservatives who remain unenthusiastic about Senator McCain.

Obama’s fatherhood speech was delivered at Apostolic Church of God in Chicago, where the crowd overflowed from the 3,000-seat sanctuary into the banquet hall.

Obama’s wife, Michelle, and their daughters, Sasha and Malia, also attended.

The senator declared that even many two-parent families can do a better job of preparing their children: “It’s a wonderful thing if you are married and living in a home with your children, but don’t just sit in the house and watch ‘SportsCenter’ all weekend long.”

Obama began by saying that too many fathers are “missing — missing from too many lives and too many homes,” having “abandoned their responsibilities, acting like boys instead of men.”

You and I know how true this is in the African-American community,” he said. “We know that more than half of all black children live in single-parent households, a number that has doubled — doubled — since we were children. We know the statistics — that children who grow up without a father are five times more likely to live in poverty and commit crime, nine times more likely to drop out of schools and 20 times more likely to end up in prison. They are more likely to have behavioral problems, or run away from home, or become teenage parents themselves. And the foundations of our community are weaker because of it.”

Yes Indeed ! If McCain becomes president, all these things I talk about will happen too. Most certainly. All Americans who are true Christians know and admit that America does not occur in the prophetic scriptures.

I love to laugh at them when they boast about they are this and that, and beat their chests, when in reality they lead the world in the signs and symptoms that Jesus referred to as in the days of Noah.

To liken Obama to John the Baptiste is a poor analogy. You still have not explained the relationship of Obama to John the Baptist, because there is none. One was spiritual the other is political.

At any rate John the Baptist did not open no doors to no one. He brought a message of repentance only. Only Jesus could open the doors to heaven. In my day you learned that concept at primary school and Sunday school in one of the verses of Mrs Alexanders hymn There was a green hill far away 332 Hymns A&M………….. He only could unlock the doors of heaven and let us in

Obama wont be opening no doors for no black race, nor would he be raising any bar for blacks to strive towards. All this is nonsense. Before there was an Obama black folk who have a mind were striving. C.f Hannibal who put nuff licks in the Romans- a much greater feat than Obama is attempting.

Just as Great Britain once ruled the world, and no longer does. Just as the Babylonians, and Medes & Persians, or the Greeks or the Romans ruled the then world, and no longer do. The dawn of the doom of America looms ahead. And I hope to be around to rejoice thereat!

David, the fact that Obama gave a speech in some black church today has nothing to do with the issue. He didn’t say anything that Bill Cosby has not been saying in the last few years, nor did he say anything that the black preachers don’t say everyday in black churches across the USA……or on tv programs.

Nor did he say anything that black people don’t know. That is part of what these jokers up here call “Black Theology.” The only place in the world I ever heard about “Black Theology” is in this wicked country. Bare nonsense.

  10. Georgie Porgie Avatar

Just as David Thompson is failing miserably in solving the problems in Barbados, so will Obama fail to solve the problems in the USA.

Both of these clowns were able to whip up folk in a frenzy about CHANGE.

Next one to sing that tune will be the antichrist. And he is on the horizon.

Thats good news for true believers, because we know the rapture will occur before the rise of the antichrist.

I am not looking for David or Obama to solve my problems nor the problems of the world……….cause these guys are both hopeless and helpless. Like antichrist they talk a good talk, but after that……………????

  11. GP the point which you are not getting is maybe at last we have a President who because of circumstances can speak to Black fathers who are MIA.

  12. GP
A had a friend who saw in a vision the downfall of barbados. He sold everything and migrated to Bermuda and experienced a hurricane there within months that almost killed him. Sometimes you get to caught up in the unknown. I am a christian and I live as humanly possible to the will of God. The future is in his hands. I prepare for tomorrow and live today. That’s why, i am so concern about the outlook of a future b’dos.

  13. Georgie Porgie Avatar

    David
1- Obama is NOT the President—yet!
2- Why should blacks in the USA need the President to tell them how to run their family life, when this is clearly set out in the Bible?

When they have all the privileges of the greatest country that God has ever given to any people at anytime, according to Sean Profanity? After all I learned all that in my home growing up in Bim

    The Scout
How is it that you are an ardent Christian who lives as humanly possible to the will of God, and you are more concerned about your earthly citizenship than your citixenship in heaven? This is contrary to all of the Pauline injunctions.

The outlook of a future Barbados is in God’s hands. The future of the USA is in God’s hands too.
Already the vultures are circling. India China Japan Russia are all poised to seriously destroy the US economy and sink the dollar. The US is broke more than any country in the world. God has removed the hedge he put around them.

  14. GeorgiePorgie,

When did God put a hedge around the US? Was that when they invaded and murdered the Indigenuous People? Since when did China, India, Russia and Japan become vultures. The only ones responsible for the sinking of the US dollar is the US. And talk about vultures! In my lifetime the major vulture encircling this planet has been the US. What do you think they are doing in Iraq now? The rise and fall of the empire had been planned from the get-go by the money-changers.

  15. Georgie Porgie Avatar

I cant say when God put a hedge around the US Hopi. But if you understand the story of Job, you will understand that for anyone or any country to be prosperous God has put a hedge around them.

Hopi, I am no great lover of the USA OK?
Nor do I think that China, India, Russia and Japan are vultures I I didn’t say anything of the kind.) I agree that the US are responsible for their destiny , but it is also very clear that these countries are poised to take over as super powers. I have no problem with that, because I believe that these countries are mentioned in Bible Prophecy and are ready to come to the fore.

Hopi I am looking forward to their part in bringing the USA to the ground..

  17. Georgie Porgie,

There are quite a few rich people in this world, the Rockefellers, Rothschilds and your lovely Queen Elizardbeth over in London just to name a few. Do you know how these bastard became rich? How many people on planet earth died to make them rich? You referenced Job, who according to your bible was a meek, humble and patient man, qualities which the rich does not possess. Did God put a hedge around these criminals. You appear as a God-fearing man, how many billions do you have at this time, according to your belief God has also put a hedge around you?

  18. Georgie Porgie Avatar

    Hopi
The Bible says that Job was a righteous man, and intimated that only when God removed the “hedge around him” that the devil could achieve his temporary material downfall.

I don’t have any billions but I do believe that He has removed his hedge from around me too, in order to draw me to himself.

I believe that God has protected America to some extent because of the believers in the country, and despite the preponderance of very evil folk there. I also believe that their day is rapidly coming to an end, because the relatively few believers left are lukewarm and wishy washy.

God puts a hedge around those who seek him to protect the good from the devil. He does not put a hedge around the criminals you mention. These folk do not necessarily have his protection or blessing. THEIR MASTER LOOKS OUT FOR THEM AS LONG AS THEY DO HIS BIDDING

I don’t think think that our opinions are at all at variance Sir.

  19. Georgie Porgie Avatar

    Hopi

You see that flood in IOwa? That is an example of removing the hedge.

Some people talk about natural disasters, but I see it differently.

Like we have had a hedge around Barbados since 1955 with respect to hurricanes. Time and time again bad weather directly coming toeards us was diverted.

I cant prove my beliefs. I just believe them.

I agree with your point on another post that the bad weather in Iowa has greater national significance than Katrina in 2005, but these jokers continue to beat thier breasts and say “this is the greatest country that God has ever given a people anytime anywhere!” You should see Prof hanity brag and boast on Fox tv.

But he will soon learn that one can only boast in the Lord!

  20. Georgie Porgie
I don’t buy groceries or any such thing in heaven. For your information I live on earth, therefore I comment about things on earth. I think you seem to be telling the Lord what he has to do and when. I’m just living according to his laws and the rest is up to him. When he’s ready to come I’m ready to go. I hope you wouldn’t be disappointed

  21. Georgie Porgie Avatar

    No Scout

I am not telling the Lord what he has to do and when. I am a keen study of Eschatology, and am just commenting on my reading of the subject. I am just commenting on my views of what is happening in the world as it appears to relate to the prophetic scriptures.

You are of course welcome to your opinion, just as you ought to allow me to share mine, as I think that I am rightly dividing the Word of truth.

  22. Georgie Porgie,

In your study of the End Times, where do you see the once “beautiful Barbados?”. Did your study also show you that planet X or Nibiru is coming into the earth’s orbit, didn’t you also study HAARP and its affect on the weather?

By the way I never made any mention of Iowa having more significance than Katrina.

  23. Georgie Porgie Avatar
    Georgie Porgie

I am sorry if I misquoted you about Iowa. Any way with a million acres of corn under water the significance is clear.

The once “beautiful Barbados” position in the end times can be found in the description of the destruction of the world that is by fire as secribed in 2 Peter 3.

I know nothing about planet X or Nibiru coming into the earth’s orbit, or HAARP and its affect on the weather?

  24. GP
Fellows like you get caught up in all this eschatology, that in the end you may miss the boat. I’m not that intelligent, so I just follow the basic way of christian living. Being a christian also means that when you see wrongdoing you should speak out and that’s what I do.

FYI Eschatology is merely one of the great doctrines of the Bible. I have been taught about it in church since I was 16 back on the Rock. Then I read about in Evans book Great doctrines of the Bible GP. Then I read about it in booklets put out by Radio Bible Class, books by McGee, Ray Stedman, and of course in Dwight Pentecost’s treatise Things to Come: A Study in Biblical Eschatology . I will not apologize for being a Bible student or Bible scholar, nor for being intelligent- although that seems to be a curse..

Fellas like me have studied the Bible, and will not miss out on anything because I am looking for Jesus coming, as all true believers ought to. Like you.I follow the basic way of christian living, and when I see wrongdoing I speak out.

  27. ha ha ha ha I just love GP. 😀 It would seem as if No man can cometh unto the Father but, via a Religious scholar. 😀 Poor people no longer seem have access to the Father thru Jesus Christ. We have to satisfy the whims and fancy of a religious scholar before access to Jesus is granted. 😀

Hopi by the time you get to understand GP’s deliberately derived complexity of Christ, you may wonder who said “suffer the little children to come unto me, why, and what is the point? You may even give up on God for similar reasons to why some of you don’t read a PDC post. 😀

Where Have you been man? Has your wife kept you inside and prevented you from coming out to play with the boys?

I never said that you cant come unto the Father but, via a Religious scholar. FYI many Religious scholars are poor men- like the men that teach at Dallas Theological and other seminaries.

If you read men like Constable and others you will find that I do have a deliberately derived complexity of Christ. I started reading Bible commentaries about 1969. Many serious believers all over the world do the same. I currently teach a little Bible in a Gospel Hall here in Florida, where many of the men have been to Bible School. Some are involved in translating the Word for new tribes.

I have friends home in the fire department, the police department and in other walks of life that I used to discuss the Bible with just like this. These folk buy books costing hundreds of dollars every year. There are many commentaries online. The collection of the works of many Bible scholars like Stedman and Arthur Pink are freely available online. Mathew Henry’s commentary- which is a household word in Christian circles is available online.

Try Googling the Complete Works of Arthur Pink.

Why do try to make me out to be an idiot, because I took the time to study the Word, rather than engage in a life of crime. Why do you criticize me for quoting Scripture. Would you try to make fun if I quoted Shakespeare, or Sheridan or Shelly?

Don’t worry Adrian. I have spent my whole life being punished for excelling in the areas at which I worked at.

  29. GP
Enjoy your religious knowledge, I will continue just following inthe foot steps of the Christ Jesus. Remember he chose simple men to be his disciples? He too was the earthly son of ordinary people? Think on these things

  30. Georgie Porgie Avatar

Do you realize that the lowly fishermen who Jesus chose to follow him were great OT theologians? Do you realize that Jewish parents taught thier children the OT as demanded by the tenets of Deuteronomy 6?

Do you realize that the lowly fishermen who Jesus chose to follow him were looking for his first advent simply because they knew the OT prophecies about his comming?

Why do you think that the child Jesus could argue with the religious leaders, and quoted the OT scriptures so frequently. NOte that Paul, Matthew and the other NT writers quoted the OT scriptures frequently. This was the norm for them.

Why do you think that Paul writes in 2 Tim 2 15 STUDY TO SHOW THYSELVES APPROVED UNTO GOD A WORKMAN THAT NEEDETH NOT TO NE ASHAMED RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH?

You piously say “I will continue just following inthe foot steps of the Christ Jesus”

Tell me why did Peter say in 2 Peter 3:18 GROW IN GRACE AND IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.

Tell me why did Peter say in 1 Peter 3:15
But sanctify (or set apart) the Lord Jesus Christ in your hearts and be ready always to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.

Knowing the Word does not make me complex. I am as simple and as ordinary a man as you. And so are the men that taught me the Word and those who write the commentaries.

My pastor in Barbados in the early seventies never went to secondary school— but he was one of the best outliners of a passage you have ever met. You listen to him on radion every Sunday. You just dont know it.

Your arguement holds no water at all Sir.

Jesus said in John 8:31 …”If you continue in my Word, then you are My Disciples indeed”. In order for any of us to “continue in His Word” we need to set aside time daily, praying earnestly, talking with God and listening in faith to His guidance. Another crucial ingredient in “continuing in His Word” is studying His Word. Not just a cursory glance at a few verses of scripture, then off to do something else. We develop a vital and living relationship with Him by getting to know Him, and this can only be accomplished by praying, studying His word, worshipping and interacting with other believers. There are no shortcuts!

    Think on these things

  31. …..like preaching to the choir in here.

  32. GP..

Seems like your punishing was not harsh enough or that you have not learned a lesson. Why tie your Christ in with jewish people? Don’t you know that they live by the torah which is a version of taro and that these jews who you seem to revere look down on people like you the “goyim.” Are you telling us that we should emulate them? Maybe you should just use that book as a reference and use your ears and eyes to see what is actually going on in this physical world and according to your study of the end times where do you see yourself and Barack Obama? Will you two be caught up in the rapture, in the storm or in the fire?
