  1. After all these years of cricketing history a visa is required to play in New Zealand and Australia.

“Up to last night, Brathwaite was still frustrated in Barbados awaiting the green light from the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) regarding the processing of a New Zealand visa and an Australian transit visa before departing the Caribbean.

  2. RIP Eusebio

  3. Darian King wins Davis Cup match.

Well done young man. Bajans should be proud.

Unfortunately David is so busy in de yard tending to de political fowls that he forget that we should give shout outs to our young people who deserve praise for their success.

  4. @Hants

The blog has multiple people who contribute. Yes congrats to the Davis Cup Team, believe they are overseas based.

We note also that Kirk Edwards has been booted off the team in Trinidad.

  5. Big up Barbados Surfing sensation Chelsea Tuach.

    Well done young lady.

  6. David this story is getting intriguing.

WIPA will be seeking legal advice on the matter on behalf of Mr. Edwards.

  7. THEY SHOULD
    SOMETHING IS WRONG THERE

  8. Stupse, West Indies cricket is finished, done kaput, wunna wasting your time worrying about it. I have resigned myself to it, finally.

Only ‘Party Cricket’ aka 20-20 left. That suits the current day Windies.

    We got British football now…

  9. @ Hants,

That is THE REAL PROBLEM. Everyone seeks legal advice and no one plays for country…

    @ Georgie Porgie

Yes, a lot is wrong HERE. Basically everything. Except we got some great people, just the governments are crap.

And we got some SWEET women, wow, the Almighty did bless Barbados.

  10. This is a case where the BCA owed it to the public why Kirk was replaced but Crusoe is correct, this mess shows a lack of leadership. Why has the BCA not been able to better manage Kirk to ensure a win win? Everything has to be confrontational with these guys.

  11. Congratulations to Barbados cricket team winning the NAGICO 50 Over competition in T&T a moment ago.

  12. @ David
    …LOL
So perhaps the BCA IS doing something right after all then?

Is management not judged in the final analysis by the RESULTS achieved?
Indiscipline is the cause of our downfall in cricket, and is also the reason for the lack of progress in the other sports.
Football is a classic and extreme case, where a bunch of raudies have taken control and managed to maintain a potentially GREAT sport/business at the block level.

Not only should the boy Kirk have been sent home, his ass should be banned for at least a year…..and he clearly should never have been captain.
During the final against Trinidad, Bushie could see that a few others should be seriously disciplined for childish, asinine display of indiscipline – even when it was clear that they had the advantage, …carrying on and arguing with the team captain – in public, on the field of play…..
THEIR asses should enjoy a 3-match ban each too.

Did you notice that some of the Barbados team tried their level best to find a way to lose that final…?
Imagine what would have been the scenario if the game had been 50:50 at the final stages and those indisciplined jokers had carried on in that unprofessional manner.

West Indies cricket will go no where as long as misfits such as Chris Gayle are entertained, and Barbados Cricket will improve – if and ONLY if the authorities deal with the louts in the sport who just happen to have some talent….

  13. Agree Bushie, there is work still to be done. Have you ever met Kirk’s father? It might explain why Kirk will always be anti officialdom.

  14. West Indies winning again. Awesome T20 cricket.

    Into the semi finals.

  15. @Hants

Yes it was a good win, they seem to be peaking at the right time. There is no better sight than to see the sweat gleaming from the skins of the strong Black men on the field of play on the victory trail.

  17. Thanks David.

The CPL is great for the Caribbean and the cricketers.

Also a group in Canada is planning to build a Stadium in Toronto for T20 cricket.

Hamilton drove a brilliant race today. He just would not let Rosberg win.
    Awesome racing.

  18. Yes Hants, you would never have guessed they are on the same team, great start for Mercedes and promo for Top Gear. next China !

  20. F1

Stayed up to watch the race live. It was worth it.

Lewis Hamilton wins again albeit with the best car.

  21. @Hants

Did yiu see the little play between Vettel and Ricardo? It was a good race for Mercedes again.

  22. Vettel says he didn’t know they were using a different strategy for Ricardo and that is why he didn’t let him pass.

Will be interesting to see what happens on the European circuits.

  23. Vetted is miffed because his less illustrious stablemate is working the same car better then him.

  24. Bajans excelling in sports and no mention on BU. come on David.

Carifta team win nuff gold on Track. Akela Jones was awesome.
Now 3 golds in the swimming

Chelsea Tuach, the third ranked junior female surfer on the Association of Surfing Professional (ASP) international junior rankings.

    The youngsters must be encouraged.

  25. @Hants

There is no spike in performance, it is the same level of performances we have come to expect from the juniors, then they lose their way.

  26. David “then they lose their way.”

No David. They get beat by “superiorily medicated” competitors.

  27. Methinks Lewis is not pleased.

  28. Hard for the stewards to prove Hants but would not put it pass Nico.

  30. David are you following this?

1 month before a Test Match the WICB changes the venue.

Hopefully “The Barmy Army” will still come to Barbados even though there is not a lot of time left.

  31. @Hants

There is a bidding process which the WIBC has started where test venues have to bid to host based on stated criteria.

  35. Trying to adjust to test cricket. WI vs NZ First session was boring,

Fortunately Nadal beating Djokovic was a great diversion.

  36. Patrick Husbands wins a big one at Woodbine.

Lexie Lou earned a commanding 4 1/2-length win Sunday in the $500,000 Woodbine Oaks.

Jockey Patrick Husbands had Lexie Lou, the 2/1 second choice, sitting second behind stablemate Wild Catomine for much of the race before surging into the lead and cruising for her fourth victory in 11 career starts.

  37. KRAIGG BRATHWAITE SCORES 100 IN TEST MATCH.

Well done young fella. That is how you bat in a TEST MATCH.

  38. Congrats to Braithwaite and Bravo, this is how you need to perform against a weak team. You score runs and take wickets.

  39. @Hants

LH did well given his mistake in qualifying and having to sit 10 on the grid. Nico drives well from the front and the equipment is evenly matched.

Vettel needs a bush bath 🙂

  40. Cricket, Soccer, Wimbledon Tennis.

    Life is good.

  41. 173 for 6., Benn and Roach 3 wickets each.

  42. Benn strikes again.

  43. @Hants

Must admire your support of the WI. Let us see if the boys can bat tomorrow. Inserting Brathwaite seems to have settled the top order.

  44. David one of my weaknesses is misguided loyalty, lol

I support West Indies cricket but I dislike the WICB.

I hope Brathwaite develops his potential and becomes a top class Test opener.

  45. rain at Kensington. that sucks.

I was looking forward to watching Kirk and Bravo beat ball.

  46. @Hants

It is grey in Barbados now, let us hope it lets up overnight.
