I have a thought you may appreciate and accept the challenge given. . I have been sharing it with other leaders and have not had much success, and little response. Only a man of means and power such as yourself can change this world. My Son and Daughter need not experience war and will not if a man such as yourself speaks up in International Council and fights for reforming our global politics. Good luck should you take up this cause. I will not give up having seen war in North Africa long ago. 

War and National Conflicts will be with us always. We can hope for a lasting peace that could be extended a hundred years and then BAM a large array of reasons to let the Dogs of War loose will appear. The Hawks of War pit themselves against the Doves of this world, the average person. Rich Nation  vs Poorer Nations has been the rule of the millennium. 

Conflict exists among nations just as it does among us all within  your family, neighborhood or community. This we cannot change but what if we can change the rules, taking the power of influence and threat from our munitions manufacturers and placing these powers into the hands of our sporting champions much like the Gladiatorum of old. 

National conflicts fought on the Soccer field, Hockey Ice, Base Ball Field. Not a odd idea. Ever read the novel “All quiet on the Western Front”? A character within this novel after experiencing the most destructive war ever suggested a way to save lives and place the responsibility of national justice, envy, jealousy and greed solely upon the leadership of these nations. Kaiser vs English King, French President vs Austro-Hungarian Emperor. Those who decide a war is the final solution face off against each other. They win or loose while their armies remain at home, safe and sound with their families. 

So to we should approach the crossroads of war with a solution to bring upon this earth a lasting peace. America vs Iran, Israel vs Hamas & Hezbollah. Play until there is a clear winner and so declare it peacefully. 

Imagine President Trumps American Team facing off against Iran’s Soccer Team Winner takes all but peace is internationally assured by the United Nations. Soccer Team salutes the other Soccer Team and then sporting war begins. Fair play, no violence but hard played soccer. An example to our children right? American soccer player earns the respect of Iranian player as they both do their best in defeating the other. 

The sporting soldier learns to feel just like a character in All is Quiet on the Western Front. “But now for the first time I see you are just a man like me, with a fearful wife and family. We see it always to late. They(leadership) never tell us you are poor devils just like us. You have mothers as anxious as ours, and we have the same fear of death, dying and agony. Forgive me, how could you be my enemy”? 

The average Joe from every country on this planet who suffer and often die for their maliciously manipulative national  leadership.  We can then realize that the unhappiness of this world is often brought on by Small Men. 

National Sport can become a diplomatic tool, a type of peace keeping alternative. Pit two teams against each other. These teams represent the power of peaceful national resolve to never go to actual war again. Makes sense right? That is why it will remain an idea untried. For men of war logic needs to stay with the philosophers while making money through death and despair will remain historically tried and proven.
