Peace in Our Time. Something that all peoples, of various religions and cultures have all hoped for throughout the centuries. For a nation a chance to better the state of their population. For individuals a state that historically has only happened in limited periods of time only in some places. Presently our planet is home to some 43+ conflicts between nations, regions and peoples. So if there is peace in Paris France there is no peace to be found in The Middle East.
What if we could have peace in the world but we would have to give up something in return?
Perhaps our personal rights and freedoms. A change in attitude economically, politically or socially.
Give up your right to make seemingly complete decisions for yourself and allow a greater communal good to make some of these decisions for you?
Two factors shape our need/desire for peace. To actually accomplish such a state and our willingness to give of ourselves in order that it can happen. Since time memorial leaders have shaped the nations of this planet etching themselves into our history. When Democracy was first wretched out of the hands of tyrants humanity feared the possibility to be able to determine our own fate. Following the orders of someone else has always been easier then determining one’s own fate in this world.
Democracy has its strengths and its weaknesses. Democracies talking through a issue can take forever and a day seemingly not accomplishing much. Problems need to be solved and bridges and infrastructure built. Democracy has shown itself to be often unwilling to reach for the highest shelf of accomplishment preferring to be mediocre instead of excellent. Authoritarian systems allow for decisions to be made and progress to achieved quicker than most. Building a bridge in the West could take years but in China not more than a few weeks.
We mostly agree that climate change is here big time yet most nations do little to alleviate this threat. If we wish to survive as a people is there a way to end such threats? Sure force governments and corporations, and entire populations to control their consumption, polluting and selfish ways!
Has humanities time on earth been used to its greatest potential? No it has not. We evolve as a society wasting our resources, our talents and potential achievements while consuming what is not renewable. Our forest, waterways, landscape and air are all facing contamination, pollution and mass extinction. Establishing peace on earth is a near impossibility as long as democracy as a system does not change.
Then came Trumpian Politics. For the first time since democracy was established a system of government led by the most authoritarian of Presidents has brought the world to the brink of global war in order to bring about the establishment of something new. A New World Order that seems to thrive on chaos.
A world led by a very few super powers who take global security seriously. Trumpian politics called for a isolation of America only to find that it was not possible. If America was to stand tall among nations it needed to flex its military, political and diplomatic muscle through specific alliances. The thought that a group, nation or other global leader could challenge America seems they do self destructively. A new ideal has emerged. There are problems that needed solutions but the world decided to ignore them.
@ 5 million people are homeless (1.5 million Palestinians included).
Climate change is a reality ignored by the globes corporate elites who give it passing glances for photo shoots.
American allies like Israel face terrorism everyday.
Many African nations face financial insolvency but it is ignored internationally.
Global finances and manufacturing has become fractured and expensive.
American politics has become selfishly fractured damaging the nations union.
There are so many problems that are not solved. A solution wanting, achievable but expensive.
Step in a authoritarian regime with a thought process simplified. Force people to help themselves. Get government out of America’s business domestically and internationally. While the process is filled with errors and challenges, mistakes and rethinks this process has started to transform America and the World. Internationally America was the global policeman. The world did not pay what was due until Trump arrived. So if a nation needed American now they would have to pay the tax required. That is why “tariffs” became America’s new weapon of choice.
N.A.T.O. and other international organization required American involvement while some members did not pay their dues fully such as Canada. Political pressure has forced Canada to increase its defense spending drastically. Only a authoritarian regime could force another nation to do this, and America is forcing nations all over the globe to do what is right for America. Ask the Ayatollahs of this world what will happen if they challenge the New World Order? The only way Iran could become democratic in time is through diplo-military action. Bam!
When democracies are threatened they become more authoritarian. Think how British, American and other democracies governments acted during the Great Wars. Certainly not democratically. Our planet faces challenges that only a Authoritarian New Order can solve. It is the obligation of every citizen to make sure the new state of our “democracy” remains socially minded, empathetic and morally centered. Citizens will give up some rights in order to receive governmental protections and services. Safety & Security from a threatening world. Actual peace on this planet will cost us but is achievable. With hope War Hawks can become extinct in time.
