We should not assume individual ‘marked’ for deportation are ‘criminals’, simply individuals who have violated US immigration laws. It is no surprise Haiti represents 32,363 out of the 42,000 to be booted from the USA with Jamaica trailing with 5,120. No doubt immigration lawyers will busy in the coming weeks.

Until the figures for those who immigrated to the USA illegally, no one would have been able to say how many Bajans migrated there, whether legal or illegal.
The stats in this blog are a sample of those Bajans in the US, whether legal or illegal.
Along with the same data for other Caribbean states, it allows us to do a differential analysis and test hypotheses, a couple of which I suggested.
