Media Release from Caribbean Against Apartheid in Palestine

Hamas, Israel

The Barbados based “Caribbean Against Apartheid in Palestine” [CAAP] categorically condemns all attacks on civilians in all conflicts, and in particular the continued and consistent genocide of the Palestinian people over the past 75 years by Zionists.

We express our full support for the Palestinian people in their ongoing struggle for liberation of the Palestinian lands and people from the occupying, dehumanizing forces of the fascist Zionist regime of Israel.

For the past 75 years the Palestinian people, men, women, and children, have faced collective punishment, degradation, colonization, apartheid, destruction, and death at the hands of the Zionist state of Israel. In the last few days that collective punishment has increased manifold with imminent total annihilation of the Palestinians of Gaza, aided and abetted by the hypocritical United States of America and its Western Allies. It is just as wrong to bomb civilian targets in Gaza, as it is to bomb civilian targets in Kiev.


What has been witnessed in the last 75 years and what is unfolding now are crimes against humanity, it is genocide. How much more must the Palestinian people endure in the face of relentless oppression and brutality? The Israeli Government has blocked all water, food, energy supplies, and medicines from getting into Gaza. This is Collective Punishment and a Crime Against Humanity.

President Nelson Mandela said, “We know too well that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinian people”. We in the Caribbean, having suffered the legacy of the most brutal and inhumane system of slavery and colonialism, know too well the struggle for freedom and need to combat such acts of savagery.

No longer can the world continue to ignore the systematic cycle of destruction perpetrated against the Palestinian people and lands by the fascist Zionist regime of Israel.

Mr. Lalu Hanuman, Lawyer, and Secretary of CAAP in an invited comment said: “Gaza 2023 is today’s Warsaw Ghetto 1943. Just as the brave Jewish people herded into the Warsaw Ghetto in 1943 by the fascists, fought back against racist oppression, the Gazan people today, herded into the Gaza Ghetto by the fascist Zionists, are fighting back against racist oppression”.
We call for the immediate halt to the genocide of Palestinians and the end to this violence, bloodshed, and racist oppression.

CAAP will be organizing a “Rally for Palestine” outside the American Embassy in Wildey, on Saturday 21st October 2023, at 3 p.m., subject to Police permission being granted.

    Look at the Hittites out of what is now Turkey and the Assyrians out of what is now Iran.

    Look at Israel departing from their covenant with God and God’s punishment of them, eviction from the Promised Land, across the Euphrates to Babylon.

    He brought them back to His Promised Land a second time, the first time from Egypt across the Nile River.

    His Chosen People have already experienced Episode 1 of the King of the North and the King of the East, they already have been shown what can happen if they depart from their Covenant with God.

    They get kicked out of the Promised Land and suffer, kind of like Adam and the Garden of Eden.

    They have seen the destruction of the second Temple by Rome and the scattering of His Chosen People to the four corners of the earth. They got kicked out again.

    The comprehensive report, Israel’s Apartheid against Palestinians: Cruel System of Domination and Crime against Humanity, sets out how MASSIVE SEIZURES OF PALESTINIAN LAND and PROPERTY, UNLAWFUL KILLINGS, FORCIBLE TRANSFER, DRASTIC MOVEMENT RESTRICTIONS, and the DENIAL OF NATIONALITY and CITIZENSHIP TO Palestinians ARE ALL COMPONENTS OF A SYSTEM WHICH AMOUNTS TO APARTHEID UNDER INTERNATIONAL LAW. This system is maintained by violations which Amnesty International found to constitute apartheid as a crime against humanity, as defined in the Rome Statute and Apartheid Convention.

    Amnesty International is calling on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to consider the crime of apartheid in its current investigation in the OPT and calls on all states to exercise universal jurisdiction to bring perpetrators of apartheid crimes to justice.

    The above excerpts were taken from an Amnesty International article, dated February 1, 2022, which could be found on the organisation’s official website.

    Unfortunately, the device I’m currently using does not allow me to post the link, so those persons who maybe interested could read the entire article.

    However, what the report has essentially indicated is that the Palestinians have been continuously oppressed by the Israelis and their government.

    This is a fact known worldwide.

    What is appalling, is some individuals in this forum, who are obviously supportive of the Israelis, are ‘proudly using’ scriptures from the Bible’s Old Testament (WHEN CONVENIENT), to justify the slaughter of innocent men, women and children……

    …… and DEPRIVING them of water, electricity, food and medical care (BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS), which will ultimately result in the death of many more Palestinians.

    I don’t want to talk about history. Both sides can provide good arguments as to why this piece of land is theirs by right. I don’t want to go into who’s responsible for the conflict – both sides will provide countless examples of the atrocities inflicted on them by the other side.

    I want to talk about the here and now. The fact is that there are currently 9 million Israeli citizens (6 million of them are Jews) who live in a relative comfort: they can go, live and work wherever they want inside Israel. Israel is a democracy, so we’re free to elect and out-vote our leaders in case we don’t like how they manage our affairs. In addition, because Israel is a recognized member of the UN, an Israeli citizen is free to use their passport to travel and trade with the rest of the world.

    The 5 million Palestinians living in Gaza and The West Bank, on the other hand, do not enjoy those freedoms. They practically live in an occupied territory which is governed by Israel, but was never officially annexed. That means they do not enjoy the rights of Israeli citizens (they are not citizens after all), but they are forced to live their lives based on decisions made by Israeli politicians and army generals. They cannot build houses or start new businesses outside their current cities, they have to get permits to work inside Israel or to travel abroad, and their borders are controlled by Israel, so they can’t import and export goods and cultivate a healthy economy. They are basically completely reliant on their Israeli occupiers. The Palestinians tried to revolt many times – either by force or in diplomatic manners. But all their attempts have failed miserably by the much stronger Israel.

    Ask the average Israeli about it, and they’ll tell you that the Palestinians have brought it onto themselves. Considering the horrible violence showed in the past by the Palestinians and the other Arabic countries – Israel would be crazy to give up on its right to defend itself. They may be right, but it doesn’t change the fact that there are 5 million people who are the citizens of no country and who live under occupation. I suspect that even if the Palestinians will promise to never use violence against it – Israel will never trust their word and give up on its control. Things will only change if people like you will support the Palestinians’ right to live like any other citizen in any other normal country in the world. It doesn’t mean you should support Palestinian violence though, but do support, and demand, their right to be free.

    So support Palestine. Otherwise, things will never change.

    Hamas hostage negotiation chief ‘killed in Gaza airstrike’

    The Hamas chief hostage negotiator has been killed in an airstrike on Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have announced.

    Osama Mazini, the head of Hamas’s Shura Council, was “responsible for Hamas prisoners” according to the IDF statement.

    Basem Naim, a senior Hamas official, confirmed his death to The Telegraph, adding that his family were also killed in the strike.
