Things are so out of whack recently that I think we have gone haywire. Let me just toss a few random disjointed thoughts out there to get a real real feel for where we are right now.

  1. Persons on bail for vicious murders…BUT…end up committing others after
  2. Local parties and fetes are restricted…BUT…visitors can plan 2 months ahead of time and party soon with wild abandon
  3. Large outcry over the Trojan Riddim…BUT…and even larger outcry over the outcry over the Trojan Riddim
  4. MAM says take down the Riddim AND apologise…BUT…so far 166 thousand views, 3000 likes and Sunday School still wukking
  5. NUPW elected to represent workers…BUT….NUPW has to call in the police to save itself
  6. Minister boasts that cruise ships coming…BUT…positive cases still showing up on liners abroad
  7. We say the children under severe pressure…BUT…we force the same children to do Common Entrance
  8. Auditor General report speaks of problems…BUT…not a peep or pang from the GoB or BLP about it
  9. Cruise ships mashup Carlisle Bay coral…BUT…Minister says no problem he will plant it back
  10. Road tax removed to supposedly ease consumers….BUT……gas prices (and said tax) increasing every single month
  11. Hotel workers cannot be forced to take the vaccine…BUT…guests can demand that they do
  12. There is no price gouging they say…BUT…ask any supermarket buyer and you’ll hear different
  13. Four Seasons money written off by government…BUT…the main lawyer and main adviser running the same government coffers currently
  14. Verla’s ready to lead the DLP to next year’s election…BUT…she has to beat a certain Guy first.

See what I tell ya. We Gone Haywire.

If you have problems with @ac you deal with her. You forgot that I once made some people call me all kinds of names because I told them if they have a problem with Comrade Austin to meet him in a dark alley and have it out.
You can’t talk about lying. You have lied on me every single time you put your miserable fingers on the keyboard by telling people I am an “ undercover “ Dem. That is a big stinking lie. You go about branding people because they don’t agree with you not because you have facts. That is dishonesty.
You disrespect women by calling them
all kinds of nasty cuss words , whether they accept it or ignore it, I consider it disrespectful and unnecessary. Real black men were taught where to draw the line. We don’t disrespect our women. Do you hear me asking the owners if this blog to ban you ?
You getting exactly what you give out. Who the hell you or anybody else on this blog believe wunnuh could tell me who to criticize.
You and @ac dwell in the same house wunnuh only in different rooms. Give her a hug, kiss and continue your defense of the House of the Duopoly. My only wish Is to see it burn flat by any means necessary . Now take that message to your political master(s) . Leave me out of your cry baby junk.
You , in my book , is a prince political darkness , you want me to fight your battles. I ain’t available .
Enjoy your cool aid , put on your armour and go out there and finish kill off Barbados .You doing a real good job- you an arch Angel and defender of the broken , decadent , lying ,corrupt Duopoly.
Next time you see @ac tell her hello for me, wunnuh is family.
    Have a good day .

  3. “Citizen journalist at large”

sounds like the new name for rightwing populist conspiracy theories on the net

except AC has not got a youtube or twitter account for any investigative journalism

and is just a cut and paste propagator of other peoples works

with an obvious political bias underlying every single piece of thought mindlessly spammed

“And if that stupidity was not enuff a third brainwashed apostle posited on BU that our sunshine was so much in demand that the tourists would abandon their countries and flock to Bridgetown to escape COVID.”

Here is what PLT says on his website “Remote Work Barbados is for people who can work at their jobs remotely, and who wish to live in our sunny, friendly environment in Barbados.” You see that word–SUNNY?

Additionally, here is an excerpt from an FT article:
“With a choice between another year trapped in a one-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn, New York, and living in a villa near the beach in Barbados, Chris Moran and his partner Lisa went for the Caribbean option. They moved to Gibbes Beach on the island’s west coast in September with their one-year-old daughter Ella.”

Who the cat likes he licks. You’re no different to the duopolists you criticise.

so now the fowl Slaves have the blog 24/7 let’s see what they present to an audience of 1/2 million or more people…outside of YARDFOWLNESS and SLAVE MINDS…

am free to stay on the sidelines AND THROW GASOLINE….won’t cost me a thing and takes up very little time…..lawd…

  7. Once again citizen journalist on the prowl are hearing repeated discontentment by the retrenched Hilton Hotel workers who have been begging and bescheeing govt to act on their behalf in receiving their severance pay for more than a year
Lisa Cummins made a bold faced promise laid out for a dec 1920 payoff for all these workers to receive severance
That promise has not been kept
Good governance requires for govt to enforce and enact laws on the books against those who refuses to obey any laws of Barbados
Therefore citizens journalist would pursue a role of activism for these workers until govt do the right thing for these workers
Laws were not only made for the poor to obey but also for the rich

  8. If DBLP managerial underclass could blame the THEFTS of BILLIONS OF DOLLARS of taxpayers and pensioners money on the wider Black population…they WOULD…but they CAN’T because the ink packets from that MASSIVE thefts is on their FINGERS and on those of the THIEVING MINORITIES.

..so they do the next best thing…LIE, COVER UP and WRITE OFF….but they STILL GOT CAUGHT…when ya tief that much, ya gotta launder it somewhere.

  11. @Lorenzo,
Let me look at two of your statements
“Piont me to any lies i made prior to 2018?”
The correct statement should have been “Point me to any lies that I have made”.

“This same Ac who suddenly care about poor people post 2018 placed a lady Ms Lisa Marshall personal information in the public domain when she was fighting for what was hers, implying she was a thief”

If yo really care about LM, you would not repeat her name every few months. You are even ‘worse’ than ac as you are keeping the story alive.

  12. Barbados is in the dark

  14. Now comedian if you are finished trying to be the headmaster of the blog.Lets get serious the matter of Ms Marshall, s personal business was NOT PUT IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN BY ME BUT BY YOUR HERO AND INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER AC.Therefore for you to be suggesting that i am keeping it in the public domain is the height of stupidity. My point, if it escaped your brain capacity WAS THAT AC DID NOT CARE ANYTHING ABOUT POOR MS MARSHALL, S PLIGHT AT THE TIME.Now all of a sudden post 2018 she cares about poor people.Give me a fuc g g break! She is a hyprocrite and i am providing evidence exposing her.If you habe a problem with that tough.
As for Skinner i gave my view of you you claim it is a lie two differing views. How does that equate with deliberately spreading lies on the blog for petty political reasons no comparison whatsoever. As for your nonsense about cussing females you live in your ideal world but anytime any person on this blog cuss me be it man or woman like your favourites Waru and Donna they will receive it back from me.You tend not see when these persons cuss me as well but i would not expect better from you.Simply put they will cuss me and i will cuss them this ain, t no sunday school. They do not have any problem with it why do you? Me thinks you protesteth too much for a grown man.

Excuse me if I come from a different place. I just don’t go around cussing my sisters. I am all for “ equal rights”. Perhaps I am ignorant but if a woman slaps a man, I expect the man to walk away. Call me old fashioned or downright stupid.
I guess disrespecting women is a part of the new norm of equal rights. And then we ask how the youth get so ! They get so because we get into pure BS. Talk whatever you both like but I hold firm on this issue . Do cuss each other all day long.
Fortunately for me ,you Lorenzo ,will never get near my daughters. And that’s a good thing because after cussing them ; you would hit them and you would be a dead whatever you are. If you can handle it, you should listen to Adonijah’s calypso. I think it’s called : Woman.
    I done wid this.
    Carry on smartly.

  18. $9m work on Cave from next month
The $9 million development promised by the new operators of Harrison’s Cave should be completed “over the next six to eight months”, even as the St Thomas attraction reopens early next month.
Chief executive officer of Chukka Caribbean Adventures, Marc Melville, said yesterday the COVID-19 pandemic had affected plans to construct a dry slide, a bridge over the gully, zip line and a challenge course – “four primary activities” the Jamaican company had said it would be adding to Barbados’ premier attraction to create the new Harrison’s Cave Eco Adventures Park.
“From July all the way up to December we will be starting construction and completing construction on all of the elements in the plan,” he said, with a targeted January completion date.
Chukka officially took over operations last December and at his first media briefing here the month before, Melville had announced the company would be developing the site into an adventure park offering a range of additional activities to cater to the fancy of a wider range of ages and interests, while the cave tour would remain the core feature.
    Received severance
Back then, chairman of Caves of Barbados, Ralph Thorne QC, said 60 employees had received their severance, and had been invited to re-apply for their positions to Chukka. The Jamaican company was granted a 25-year lease and will pay the Barbados Government a management fee which would be determined according to the performance of the attraction.
Earlier this month, Minister of Energy, Small Business and Entrepreneurship Kerrie Symmonds told the House of Assembly that Government had paid out close to $2.5 million in severance to the former employees. They were officially severed on October 31, 2020, with a severance bill of $2 411 409, part of an overall payment of $3 444 628, which included vacation pay.
Meanwhile, a new logo encompassing the new image and original features was revealed at yesterday’s media conference at Courtyard by Marriott hotel when Melville also announced Chukka would be targeting a July 2 reopening to the public. Visitors will once again be able to take advantage of cave tours and other existing features, while the new elements undergo construction.
He said Barbadians would be offered a reduced price for entry for the first two months, with no charge for one child under 12 accompanying an adult.
Country manager of Chukka Barbados, Andrea Franklin, said about 26 members of staff who worked with the Caves of Barbados had secured employment with the Chukka operation, among a total of about 40 people earmarked to be part of the start-up team.
She projected that the staff complement would move “to about 90 or 95 by the time the project is completed”.
Staff engaged for the July 2 reopening are undergoing training. (GC)

  20. William,

If women and girls don’t wish to be slapped, then they should not slap.

I have ONE code of behaviour for everybody.

At primary school, my son eventually had to whoop a girl’s butt to get her off his case. She had her way for years. Finally she tripped him and kicked him in the butt as he tried to get up off the floor.

Imagine, if you fight back you are wrong and if you complain to the teacher you are a wimp.

In later life it continues. Men who were so raised suffer spousal abuse in silence.

As for cussing, Bushie told me when I came that BU is a rumshop and not a Sunday School. So I am a woman in a rumshop. I am adaptable.

When I think about it, I believe that cussing can be a release valve. Sure helps me when I stump my toe!

  25. “Our citizens reporters are out in field looking at damages. Also putting a plan together to help those who have been affected.”

This means “Barbados has been in the dark” UNDER SUCCESSIVE BLP and DLP administrations, because over the years, people have not only been addressing BOTH administrations’ failure to address their concerns, but they have also taken matters into their own hands to “put plans together to help those who have been affected,” whether it is as a result of natural disasters or ‘water woes.’

I’m sure you’ll recall as far back as September 2016, when concerned Barbadians came together to assist communities in St. John, St. Joseph and St. Thomas, that were experiencing water shortages on a continuous basis……. and against the background of calls for then Minister David Estwick to resign over the obvious management inefficiencies at the Barbados Water Authority.

Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose

  26. In the wee hours of Thursday morning barbadians were giving a wake up call by a no name storm having winds over 50mph
The damage done to some homes is indisputable
Highways also felt the warmth of Mother Nature with fallen trees
which blocked access for motorists to travel
Lights and water in some areas were Immediately cut off
Yesterday the PM made assurances and promises to those affected
We have seen and heard these utterances before on many other issues that are still ongoing and mostly affected the most vulnerable
A PM that has promised hope and a govt that carries a majority cabinet
Has yet to deliver a promise of hope
Hoping under this circumstance caused by Morher Natures worth hope would be delivered

I never said men / boys should endure bullying. Nobody should. It’s a problem especially with very young people. Cyber space bulling is a major problem.
    2. I am aware that men suffer silent spousal and other abuse. The Black man is still to this day suffering all types of abuse. So much so that there are some sisters who don’t understand it. Progressive brothers and sisters know this is a major problem to overcome.
    3. My opinion about disrespecting women is just that. I’ve seen women disrespected and beaten for no reason at all. Some men are just abusive.
I never said there aren’t abusive women.
As @Lorenzo said to me , I maybe living in an “ ideal world” on this topic. I am quite happy being there. It’s how I was raised and believe me I rebelled against almost everything they thought me.
However , I don’t cuss, hit or abuse women.
And if any man hit any of my daughters he should hope the police get there first. I have given up friendships with men once I had proof they were hitting their females in relationships
Like I said , I believe in equality but on this topic I stand firm.
Men who are being abused should seek help . In many cases the ego and being “laughed at”prevents them from so doing.
Same thing with women who get abused but don’t want others to know the hell they go through daily.

    Peace.

  28. FOR those on the blp side of the fence who have accused ac of placing one LisaCummins info in public domain
I caution u to check your facts first

  29. William Skinner,

I am sorry. I thought you said that men who are slapped by women should walk away???????

A man who slaps a woman because she first slapped him cannot be said to have abused a woman for no reason.

My point is that NOBODY should put their hands on ANYBODY for no reason, be they male, female or somewhere in between.

Of course, one slap does not excuse a beat down. That is excessive force which is, of course, illegal.

  30. Women are allowed to disrepect men and men (Out of respeect for women ) must turn the other cheek / walk away or he is not a man ?

I give respect where it is due . If a woman Cuss me she Will g’et back that same level of respect that she due me

    Plain and simple
    For any sex / gender

  31. Lorenzo, are you a woman beater? We have gone from your calling me a pea brain to being a woman beater.

Quite frankly, I believe there is less woman beating now than in the old days, when apparently it was the norm.

Both my grandfathers thought they could do that crap. They had to be persuaded otherwise. Their children were of a different mindset. And their children were of a different mindset. And their children would not dream of beating a woman because they see them as equals.

So the way I see it, the young people are an improvement on you old guys. Cannot blame me or Lorenzo for violence against women.

    #BTEditorial – Crop Over 2021 a gamble with too great a risk – by Barbados Today June 18, 2021
The news that Government has decided to pull the plug completely on Crop Over 2021 comes as no surprise to us. And while Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office with responsibility for Culture, John King, told the media in April that there would definitely be a festival but one with a difference, we always had our doubts about the assertion.

What was telling at the time the Minister made the comment was the country was still in the midst of battling community spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus which has claimed 47 lives in Barbados.

In an Editorial headlined: We Welcome The New-look Crop Over But Let’s Be Cautious, which we published the day after his announcement, we cautioned Government that any attempt to have any form of the festival must take into account COVID-19 protocols.

Given the unpredictability of the virus and the fact that the national festival is made up of mass events, there was no place for miscalculation or recklessness. The Minister also mentioned the national vaccination programme. But at the time, the country was having challenges securing vaccines.

But we have had multiple examples that have taught us that no amount of planning or preparation can ready us for this pandemic. And while many believe that the vaccination programme will bring about some sort of miraculous change, that has not been this case.

Only Tuesday, Royal Caribbean reported that the Odyssey of the Sea cruise ship which had 95 per cent of crew and passengers vaccinated, had recorded eight COVID-19 cases.

So even vaccinated parties and fetes hold absolutely no guarantees.

For the Crop Over lover, we understand that this is the second year you will be missing your favourite festival. For the entertainment players whose livelihoods depend on the sector, we get it. To the cultural practitioner, artiste, musician, vendor, craftsperson, dancer, we feel your angst. But, sadly, what this country faces is much bigger than any one person or sector.

And let us not forget that while thousands of Bajans and Bajan Yankees ascend on Grand Kadooment making merry from the National Stadium to the Mighty Grynner Highway, and thousands more watch the spectacle, there are still thousands more who have little or no feeling towards the national festival.

Should something unfortunate happen where COVID-19 numbers spike during a Crop Over Festival, those who care not one iota will shout the loudest in condemnation and, sadly, some of their mouthings would be justified.

We fully understand and sympathise with those whose payday is generated through entertainment activity. But we also want to remind those “up in arms” over the decision that the entertainment sector is part of the whole. We ask entertainment players not to forget that when you are part of a team there are times you will be called upon to take one for the team. This is such a time.

Ironically, on the same day that entertainers were venting their frustration about Government’s scrapping of the festival, Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley was speaking during the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) forum on Natural Disasters and Climate Change along with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva. Mottley asked the IMF and other international lending agencies to give the region an ease. while explaining the Caribbean was hardest hit by the pandemic
