There are many words and phrases that we commonly use that originate in the Bible.
For example, the word “sincere” which is found in 1Peter 2:2 to describe “the milk of the word,” is a transliteration of two Latin words “sine” (without) and “cere” (wax.)
In days of old, when charlatan potters would gloss over their impaired pottery with wax before they tried to sell them, more honest potters who sold perfect pottery, advertised their ware as “sine cere”.
Today, we will state the etymology of the word “scapegoat” and exegete the passage in the Bible where this word occurs, and the passage where such a goat was used in a ceremony, and explain the significance of the passage, sincerely (“sine” (without) and cere (wax.)

What a devine pot of bovine excrement!
Indeed, people who so think are eligible for the boiling in that pot of excrement which the liars who are said to have written the Book of Lies desired for the One they have yet to recognize as Mahdi.
There is nothing which ‘originates’ in that Book of Lies. Nothing!!!!!!!!!

THOSE ARE TWO GOOD FILES THAT YOU HAVE POSTED

IT IS AMAZING THE RUBBISH THAT THE BU UNGODLY BIBLE ILLITERATES POST EVERY SUNDAY MORNING

IT WOULD CERTAINLY BE MUCH BETTER IF THEY JUST SAID NOTHING AT ALL

  5. RE How is the godly meant to win over the ungodly or should they be happy bumping fists with the converted.

IT IS CERTAINLY MUCH MORE PLEASURABLE TO BUMP FISTS WITH THE CONVERTED—AND MUCH MORE PROFITABLE TOO, BECAUSE IN THIS WAY . MUCH LEARNING AND TEACHING GOES ON.

I HAVE FOUND THIS TO BE SO FOR MORE THAN 50 YEARS WHEREVER I HAVE GONE.

THE GODLY CAN NOT WIN THE UNGODLY IF THE UNGODLY CONTINUE TO BE OBNOXIOUS, AND UNWILLING TO LISTEN OR LEARN.

PLEASE KINDLY NOTE MY AIM IS NOT TO CONVERT THE UNGODLY BU BIBLE ILLITERATE.

I POST IF PERCHANCE SOME ONE SOMEWHERE IN THE INTERNET ETHER, MIGHT READ AND BE EDIFIED

MY OPENING PARAGRAPH WAS ACCURATE AND EDIFYING, AND COULD NOT BE REFUTED -AS IS USUALLY THE CASE.

IT IS NOTEWORTHY THAT JOHN K COULD RELATIVELY QUICKLY FIND TWO FILES ON LINE THAT CLEARLY ILLUSTRATE AND PERFECTLY CORROBORATED PARAGRAPH THAT MY OPENING PARAGRAPH. WAS SOUND AND SOLID.

IF THE UNGODLY BIBLE ILLITERATE DID NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MY ASSERTION, IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN BETTER TO ASK A QUESTION POLITELY. NOT TALK RUBBISH, AND DEMONSTRATE THAT HE IS A POMPOUS IDIOT WITH HIS MORONIC MOUTHINGS

NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND CAN THINK OR SAY THAT, OTHER THAN JOHN’S TWO POSTS, THAT THE RUBBISH POSTED IN RESPONSE TO MY STELLAR TEACHING ON LEVITICUS 16 IS APPROPRIATE OR EDIFYING

  6. Red sky at morning
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    Jump to navigationJump to search
This article is about the saying. For other uses, see Red sky at morning (disambiguation).

Red sky at morning, during sunrise

Red sky at night, with dust and clouds moving away to the west
Further information: Weather lore § Red sky at night
The common phrase “red sky at morning” is a line from an ancient rhyme often repeated by mariners:[1]

Red sky at night, shepherds’ delight.
Red sky at morning, shepherds take warning.[2][3][4]

The concept is over two thousand years old and is referenced in the New Testament as established wisdom that prevailed among the Jews of the Second Temple Period by Jesus in Matthew 16:2-3.

  7. Sign of the times.
Definition: Something that underscores the current state of society, usually negative.

Matthew 16:3 (ESV) “And in the morning, ‘It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.”

The ritual of the scapegoat had/has significance for the Jews of those times. In the Christian Era we speak of the sacrificial lamb. Is the latter a variation of the same theme? What idiom would you use in conveying this theme to a young Christian in CE 2020?

With your frequent bouts of religious self-pleasuring of the ‘Onanistic kind
you can only be referring to the Jews.

For hundreds of years you have failed to stop them from ‘celebrating’ Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) instead of accepting Good Friday and Easter on which your sweet gentle Jesus the lamb of Yahweh was killed and resurrected for the atonement of the sins of the same ungrateful Israelites.

When you- the members of a breakaway cult from Judaism- can convince those mainstream Jews to accept Jesus (the fisher of men) as their scapegoat and sacrificial lamb transitioning from the Age of Aries to the Age of Pisces then we will know that Abraham’s faith was not in vain.

His commitment to the sacrifice of (as a burnt offering) his ‘favourite’ son Isaac to the god of the Age was intercepted and interceded by that scapegoat called the ram (Aries) caught in a thicket.

You see, the same old story repeated over the Ages!

Who would be the ones to be made sacrificial ‘lambs’ in the recognition of the onset of the Internet Age of Information & Misinformation?

Yes, the One carrying that Pitcher of Water to the large upper room!

Could it be Tim Berners-Lee or Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg?

What about the ‘selection’ of a female Pope with her ‘fishy’ mitre in Rome or her copied version in the UK to signal the end of that Age of duplicity!

From the below extract from the Torah -and your plagiarized version of the book of Genesis of biblical concoctions- you can appreciate why Jews (and not Xtians) will always see themselves as the anthropomorphic Yahweh’s chosen people:

“The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time and said, “I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.”

Now go and preach that load of Judaistic jingoism to the Chinese and the fast-spreading Indians across the globe of today!

The ritual of the scapegoat had/has significance for the Jews of those times. IT IS STILL PRACTICED AND RELEVANT TO ORTHODOX JEWS TODAY.

ALL THE TEMPLE SACRIFICES, WILL ( I HOPE YOU KNOW) BE RESUMED SOMETIME SOON, SINCE THEY WILL BE CURTAILED BY ANTICHRIST AT THE MID POINT OF THE GREAT TRIBULATION.

In the Christian Era we speak of the sacrificial lamb. Is the latter a variation of the same theme? YES SIR
IN THE AGE OR DISPENSATION OF GRACE IN WHICH WE LIVE WE DO SPEAK OF THE LAMB THAT WAS SLAIN. SO LEVITICUS 16 IS RELEVANT TO NT BELIEVERS BECAUSE OF THE TYPOLOGY EXPOUSED IN THE CHAPTER.

What idiom would you use in conveying this theme to a young Christian in CE 2020?

YOU REALLY CANT USE ONE IDIOM
THE BIBLE IS FILLED WITH SEVERAL TYPES AND FIGURES BY WHICH GOD SPOKE IN THE PAST TO REVEAL HIMSELF BY THE HIS SON AS CLEARLY PRESENTED IN THE FIRST THREE VERSES OF HEBREWS CHAPTER 1

I WOULD TEACH THE YOUNG PEOPLE THE TYPOLOGY ABOUT CHRIST IN THIS CHAPTER, AND ALL OVER THE BIBLE. JUST AS HAS BEEN DONE ON BU BY ZOE AND MYSELF OVER THE LAST 10-12 YEARS.
    .
EG NOTE THAT THE HIGH PRIEST ON THIS DAY OF ATONEMENT DID ALL THE WORK ——–JUST AS JESUS ALONE DIED FOR OUR SIN.
ONLY THE HIGH PRIEST COULD ENTER THE TABERNACLE, AND ONLY ON THE DAY OF ATONEMENT COULD HE DO SO. NONE OF THE OTHER PRIESTS COULD EVER DO SO

THE HIGH PRIEST PUT OF ALL HIS FOUR PIECES OF OUTER REGAL GARMENTS ON THAT DAY………JUST AS JESUS EMPTIED HIMSELF OR PUT OF HIS GLORY IN WHAT IS CALLED THE KENOSIS IN PHILIPPIANS 2:5-11

HEBREWS AND PSALM 110 CLEARLY TEACHES THAT CHRIST IS THE ANTITYPE OF THE HIGH PRIEST—-HE IS OUR HIGH PRIEST
I THINK I HAVE EXPLAINED FULLY THE TYPOLOGY OF THE SLAIN GOAT, AS WELL AS THE SCAPEGOAT

    HOPE THIS HELPS

GALATIONS 3: 21-28 IS WORTH REVIEWING AND MEDITATING ON ESPECIALLY V 24
21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.

22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

  13. The human heart in the Bible

    https://sites.google.com/site/thebiblesaiditfirst/

“… for the LORD your God is testing you to know whether you love the LORD your God with ALL YOUR HEART and with all your soul.” Deut.13:3

The Bible pioneered many phrases about the heart as the seat of human emotion. People in biblical times imagined the heart was the source of our thoughts. Even though we know about the brain, we still use heart phrases today like, ‘heavy heart’, ‘soft hearted’, ‘to set your heart on something’ and ‘broken heart’.

The word heart appears over 900 times in the Bible.
Here is a list of just some ‘heart verses’ from the Bible. You will notice how some of them are still in common use today. Be sure to check these ‘heart verses’ in your Bible, because many of them carry valuable spiritual lessons for us.

  14. The eyes have it
“The lamp of the body is the eye.” Matt.6:22

The human eye is a miracle of creation. The eyes are silent communicators able to show an amazing number of good or evil human moods or emotions with just a glance.
This is why Jesus calls the eye, ‘the lamp of the body’, because your eyes can convey so much about you.

People sometimes say that a person’s eyes ‘lit up’ when they experienced something that made them instantly happy.

The alternative medicine known as ‘iridology’ has shown that eye colours, patterns and iris characteristics can reveal much about your inner health.
One of the amazing things is the ability to make direct eye contact with another person who is some distance away, even when they are with a group of people.

The eyes are mentioned over 500 times in the Bible.
The eye and sight are used in the Bible in the spiritual sense to depict a person’s ‘insight’ and understanding of the things of God:
    See Eph.1:18; 1 John 2:11 and Rev.3:18

Here are just a few ‘eye verses’ from the Bible
“The eyes of your understanding being enlightened.” Eph.1:18
“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth…” 2 Chron.16:9
“This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.” Psa.118:23
“Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things.” Psa.119:37
“Unto You I lift up my eyes.” Psa.123:1
“But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.” Gen.6:8
“Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water…” Gen.21:19
“…a heart to perceive and eyes to see and ears to hear” Deut.29:4
“…give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.” Prov.23:26
“The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous…” 1 Pet.3:12
“The light of the eyes rejoices the heart.” Prov.15:30
“Every way of a man is right in his own eyes” Prov.21:2
“A man with an evil eye hastens to riches.” Prov.28:22
“Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes.” Isa.5:21
“He who winks with his eye causes trouble.” Prov.10:1, Prov.6:12-15, 16:30
“…the eyes of the LORD , which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth.” Zech.4:10
“…His eyes like a flame of fire” Rev.1:14
“…anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.” Rev.3:18
So, along with having our natural eyes tested from time to time we all need to also test our spiritual eyesight on a regular basis.
“The eyes of the LORD are over the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.” Psa.34:15

Of course Christianity is an extension (or offshoot) of Judaism; just like Islam is an Arabic makeover of Judaism.

They are all branches from the Abrahamic tree of faith(s) which has its roots in monotheism ‘founded’ by the heretic Egyptian pharaoh Akhenaten.

There is nothing ‘Original’ about Judaism and its’ pantheon’ of plagiarized myths and legends.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I think you will find Joseph was sold into slavery in Egypt centuries before the rule of Akhenaten.

Means he interpreted the Pharaoh’s dreams long before Akhenaten arrived on the scene.

It is more likely that Akhenaten decided to try monotheism as a result of centuries of Egyptian experience.

    Just chose the wrong God.

When were the descendants of Joseph and his brothers enslaved?

My bet is you will find it was before or during the reign of Akhenaten.

  18. @ John July 20, 2020 8:39 AM

So which was the ‘Right’ God?

Enki, Ahura Mazda, Brahma or Zeus?

The only source you can use to show that Jews were enslaved in Kemet is the same book of plagiarized myths and legends like the Sumerian Creation & Flood stories, the Book of the Dead and the Hammurabi code of laws.

Based on your own racist theorizing, why would ‘white-skin’ people allow themselves to be enslaved by brown-skin people from the continent of Africa?
Yes, the same continent your Quaker friends had to rescue the ‘darkies’ from slavery 3,000 years later by bringing them to Christendom in the “New Word”.

Are you then conceding that the Jews/Israelites in your Bible were indeed people of ‘colour’?

  21. MillerJuly 20, 2020 9:20 AM

why would ‘white-skin’ people allow themselves to be enslaved by brown-skin people from the continent of Africa?

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++

Nitwit question but let’s see what we know.

As Islam spread (7th century onwards) people were abducted into slavery from all over the Mediterranean.

    Colour was not an issue.

Barbary Pirates went as far as Ireland.

The Mamelukes were taken to Egypt from areas of Circassia.

Your theories on colour and slavery hold no water.

Also, what I think you will find is that the development of the Nile region at the time of the Pharaohs was undertaken from outside of Africa as Agriculture spread through the fertile crescent.

Some of the people of the Nile at time of Joseph were descendants of persons from Ur, like Joseph … and of course, Abraham.

But you would expect that given the flood.

  22. @ John July 20, 2020 10:08 AM

Who is arguing to the contrary?

The geological records also bear out the fact that the planet is millions of years old and was not made in 6 days.

Even the little coral island Barbados had to undergo hundreds of thousands of years of sedimentation to become a habitable atoll in the “Atlantic Ocean”.

The story of the flood as narrated in your book of myths is a plagiarized version of the Sumerian “Epic of Gilgamesh”.

Stop making it look that the Jewish story was the Original tale.

We are still awaiting palentological evidence that your ‘black-skin’ mate Noah sailed all the way to Australia to collect two kangaroos and then sailed all the way to the Artic to put 2 polar bear in his ark to save them from drowning from the “great flood” caused by some cataclysmic event.

We are not talking about the relatively recent barbarity of Islam which is a religion of the Piscean Age (post Christianity) but that of the Ages of the Bull and the Ram.

Were the eponymous Moses and his ancestral clan white-skin people enslaved in Egypt?

Was Abram (before he became Abraham) a pale skin dude who ‘pimped’ his wife Sarah as his “half-sister” to be a ‘pale-skin prostitute in Egypt?
We know that his son Ishmael was the ‘issue’ from a brown-skin Egyptian housemaid.

But was his favourite concubine Keturah-with whom he fathered many other sons- also of the pale skin variety or more of that of the Cushite clan?

Your “world history” is somewhat defective.

We see that you are casting some pearls before swine.

But would they ever be brought to the realization that all their beliefs, not knowledge, are base on “eponymous” characters – people who NEVER existed, including the one Abraham. And if there was never a Abraham all three fictitious religions have no foundations whatsoever.

While these idiots continue to believe shiiite the true history of mankind is under threat in Kemet as the A-rabs continue their project of erasing it. Compared to 10 years ago and on a recent pilgrimage there this writer measured a large gap of destruction of sacred sites.

Finally, we would like to challenge the BU constellation of fools. This is the challenge – should any one of them be able to prove the actual existence of any of the significant characters in their book/s of lies this writer will pay all their living expenses for the rest of their lives. David could act as referee.

Undoubtedly, those eponymous characters could include abraham, moses, jesus – any of them. It could also extend to any of the significant faux circumstances – like noah and his fake ark, the fictitious parting of the red sea, feeding a multitude with a few fish and a couple salt bread, etc. LOL.

  29. Paul has well said in I Corinthians 1
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
    23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
    27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
