  1. @DAVID

    SATURDAY MARCH 28TH NOT 27TH

  2. “An exemption has been granted for the completed construction of Harrison’s Point. NO OTHER CONSTRUCTION MUST TAKE PLACE”

wuhloss…that goes contrary to what the ignorant criminal Maloney said, watch him make sure he put these negros in their place for defying him….i was so looking forward to seeing the Hyatt built to house the sick and homeless.

  3. So which ministry does renewing driver’s licenses fall under?

  4. @John2

    Thanks.

Not sure if it bears reminding that the curfew is from 8PM to 6AM.

BRA. The GoB needs the tax revenue.

  6. Thanks Vincent…people need to know.

  7. I recall expressing a liking for the AG and expect much of him in the future.
I also expressed a liking for Donville and thought he too would go far.. Well, he reached the US 🙂

This seem to be a list that was given a great deal of thought.

I must now wait and Maripos et (H)al to show me the weaknesses.
It should be “et al” but I could not resist the (H)

  8. No supermarket s on the list. People must eat.

  9. The curfew is from 8pm until 6am.

    #sigh

  10. Sorry. The list has been triplicated with different number ones.

  11. @ WURA-War-on-U March 28, 2020 8:47 AM

This shutdown of construction has played right into the lucky devil Malmoney’s hands. He has been dealt, quite unfortunately, a ‘get-out-of-jail’ card.

He can now ‘suspend’-ad nauseam, ad infinitum- the opening of his park lane hotel on the country’s hotel investment monopoly board.

We shall soon see if he is that humanitarian “Enuff” to give a helping hand in the fight against the devil called Covid and make a donation to the national pot of comic relief for the suffering people about to be laid off en masse with many of them soon to be living on the streets very close to the same imaginary Lighthouse of economic hope.

Such a ‘magnanimously charitable’ of gestures towards the poor and downtrodden can easily make up, in the most contrite of manner, for his past greedy deeds by way of contributing the financial equivalent of the duties and taxes on the luxury vehicle collaboratively avoided and imported (thanks to his friends in both political camps of the duopoly army of DBLP hypocrites and con men and conning women) for use by a ghost of a Sales Director employed by a hotel now hanging in suspended animation.

Covid might just be one of the many fleas of retribution carried on her back by the bitch called Karma.

  12. @ Miller,

Covid is a a ‘get-out-of-jail’ card.that will be used by a lot of people including BLP government ministers and czars.

It will be used to explain why there is a sudden interest in food security by the likes of Indar weird.

  13. A much needed response to the AG semi.illiterate statement
    Taken from
    Rodney fb page

After listening to the AG last night I am lost as to how this shut down is going to work with the airport and seaport open since we don’t dictate the airlines time schedule how are people going to get to and from the airport between that 8 and 6 ? And why close the hardware stores don’t the AG knows that homes have emergency needs that you must visit a hardware store suppose a person pipe burst or an electrical problem develops what would that house hold do MR AG ?

  14. Mr. Attorney general your statement demonstrates head does not equal brains
Another reason why a more comprehensive approach was needed after weeks of leaving the ports of call open
Also another glaring example of chickens with heads cut off making last minute policies
    God help us all

  15. Miller…don’t hold ya breath, he is a total fraud and a vile POS….the only reason he would even contemplate anything like that is to get a tighter grip of his years of owning the useless negros in the parliament and still dip his greedy hands in the treasury and pension fund to big up himself and show the population he still controls and dictates things…..remember he still fronts for the original thieves who are his bosses.

let’s see how well he takes the sell outs telling him he can’t build Hyatt.

“Such a ‘magnanimously charitable’ of gestures towards the poor and downtrodden can easily make up.”

This is the same crook helped these same people to be poor and downtrodden by robbing the treasury and pension fund even for more decades than he himself has been around, he would not be doing anything but giving back what him and the other minority lowlifes stole from Bajans.

“(thanks to his friends in both political camps of the duopoly army of DBLP hypocrites and con men and conning women) ”

that nasty sell out play pre and post election will return to BITE the sell outs REAL HARD.

“It will be used to explain why there is a sudden interest in food security by the likes of Indar weird.”

If i had said that Indar would cuss me up and down…lol

  16. @Hants,

Just when ” the last 10 years” was going rancid here comes the ready made excuse, “because of Covid 19”

some people have all the luck lol

  17. Curfew sounds a bit drastic

    Call it a Quarantine instead

  18. For the umpteen time, hardware stores will can open maybe to 7pm to provision for staff getting home by 8pm.

If Barbados has imposed a curfew which will affect air and seaport will the airlines not make the adjustment to itinerary? Were you the one calling for shut down of borders?

  19. “And why close the hardware stores don’t the AG knows that homes have emergency needs that you must visit a hardware store suppose a person pipe burst or an electrical problem develops what would that house hold do MR AG ?”

Alyuh done know he ain’t too bright and first should have made sure the hardware stores are OPEN TO ONLINE/PHONE ORDERS AND DELIVERIES…there are now some entrepreneurs who are offering online services for food shopping and deliveries, yes in Barbados….hardwares and other providers of such necessities can do the same…which will open up opportunites for EMPLOYMENT.

  20. David do u know how advance the airlines are in their schedule
It is not as if they can change their flight plans because Barbados
    Initiate a curfew
The bottom line comes down to savings especially at a time when the airlines are suffering major losses

  21. all shopping can be done between 6am and 8pm. the curfew is at night and not all that restrictive

Mr Blogmaster, re “For the umpteen time, hardware stores will can open maybe to 7pm to provision for staff getting home by 8pm. There is criticism and then there is just political partisan noise.

The comment about hardware stores for plumbing or electrical needs is silly.

If the govt says ‘shut down’ then you bloody hell shut the water main off and doubly bloody hell make sure you have bottles of water stored for drinking and a few buckets to flush your toilet…. you use a flashlight if the electricity goes. Very simple.

Incidentally, who else besides LIAT is flying into Bim these days and who comes in late… I thought flights were mainly aborted!

The remarks are not valid criticism they are silly nonsense!

  23. You epitomize that person whose prism is always politically clouded. A few hours in the night the country closes to help mitigate the spread and you lot are unable to see the value. It does not matter the shedule of the Airlines, Barbados is CLOSED during the curfew period.

  24. Why until 6:00AM????….. am I correct that this curfew was introduced to prevent the night-owls, etc. from partying …. the majority of us will now “suffer” for a few idiots!! And why not 4:00AM ….. allowing fishermen to operate as normal, early morning walkers/etc. to exercise when cool…….4:00AM would have curtailed ‘night activities’ same as 6:00AM!!

  25. @ks

Is there ever a perfect decision?

    >

  26. The scenarios which are being played out by this the largest cabinet in barbados shines the spotlight on ministers and discredit Mia highly touted comment of Many hands make for light work
All in all Mia should never utter those words again
Her ministers are colossal failures at a time when the country is looking for feasible and logical solutions
Instead of these fly by night trial or error measures that leave people fearful and doubting govt solutions in tempering the virus in the country

  27. @ Mariposa

THE TRUTH IS THE BLP GOVERNMENT COULD NOT CLOSE THE BORDERS AS THIS WOULD HAVE AFFECTED THE BUSINESS PEOPLE WHO PLAYED A MAJOR ROLE IN FUNDING THEIR ELECTIONS INCLUDING HOTELIERS.

THE MAJOR DRUG LORDS WHO ALSO HELPED FUNDED THE BLP CAMPAIGN WOULD HAVE BEEN AFFECTED AS THEY TOO WOULD LOSE MAJOR REVENUE FROM SELLING COCAINE AND MARIJUANA ETC TO MANY MANY WHITE TOURISTS.

IF THE BLP GOVERNMENT REALLY CARED ABOUT THE MASSES MINIMUM WAGE PROMISED WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF BEING ELECTED STILL HAS NOT HAPPENED 22 MONTHS LATER.

IN ALL OF THIS THE BAJAN POOR MASSES ALWAYS COMES LAST IN THIS BLP GOVERNMENT EQUATION.

PLEASE LET US NOT BURY OUR HEADS IN THE SAND.

  28. @ David

I have to agree with others that hardware stores should be allowed to open. They are certain emergencies that can occur that one can not do without adressing for 14 days. If we do then we are opening the country to other possible health hazards.

  29. DavidMarch 28, 2020 12:47 PM

You epitomize that person whose prism is always politically clouded. A few hours in the night the country closes to help mitigate the spread and you lot are unable to see the value. It does not matter the shedule of the Airlines, Barbados is CLOSED during the curfew period

    Xxxxxxxxccc

Your comment is an enlargement of why small islands are called banana republics
    Govt leaves the airport open
Initate some form of a curfew without an understanding of airline schedules and u think such a measure is down right ok not withstanding that flying time can change to accommodate certain circumstances
    Well i.ll be dam
    What happen to visionary thinking

  30. @John A

How have you calculated 14 days?

  31. A check when other countries in the Caribbean closed or partially closed ports of entry rubbishes you comment.

  32. @ David

Are We not in lockdown till the 15th at first making it 2 weeks?

  33. @John A

    From 8pm until 6am.

  34. Poor you, always hopping from pillar to post with your vacuous and specious comments.

  35. @David

Yes but hardwares were not in the list of businesses allowed to operate like restaurants and supermarkets during 8 to 6.

  36. David my vacuous comments talks to an inept govt with limited vision and confusing and illogical measures that were not given enough thought process
If you have problems with my thinking u can scroll by

  37. @John A

Does it matter for 20 hours?

Hardware stores normally close by 8pm with the exception of the new kid on the block? Like Dee Word stated, turn off from the main and wait.

  38. Rabid partisan positions will win you no support at this time. It is a time to rally.

  39. David you missing the point THEY CAN’T OPEN AT ALL

  40. @John A

Cannot imagine that is the case.

  41. waru what reprieve????? Look Wuhan is opening up, many people have the anti bodies for covid 19 as barbados is a satellite of china it is not beyond the realm for workers to come in and get the hotel built , probably on time, It is the same for the bonds to fund the U.S debt they have to put out for that 2 trillion package, the Chinese will probably buy them how ironic.
In any military one thing you don’t want to happen is to be caught in a pinser movement..So you had infected people from asia land on the west coast of America and you have them landing from Europe on the east coast its not surprising that the states covid count is way up.

  42. @ David

I didn’t either but found out today that NO RETAIL HARDWARES WILL ALLOWED TO BE OPEN.

A hardware can only open their bond for the explicit purpose of supplying materials to Harrison’s Point and once the delivery is made they must immediately close the bond.

This i heard directly from a director of one such establishment. To me that is nonesence as the hardware is an intricate part in maintaining healthy surroundings and essential maintenance like burst pipes to apartment units and homes etc

  43. @John A

That must be an error. At minimum it should be left to hardware stores to open. Clearly Carters and Kooyman will not open but we have the corner hardware stores.

  44. “It is the same for the bonds to fund the U.S debt they have to put out for that 2 trillion package, the Chinese will probably buy them how ironic.”

lots of people saw that one coming..

  45. DavidMarch 28, 2020 1:10 PM

    https://www.miamiherald.com/news/nation-world/world/americas/haiti/article241249651.html

No david all that article proves is that govts waited too long to close their borders
A most favourable response by govt after gathering the facts of the high intensity of the virus and its dangerous attack to kill and contaminate would to close the borders without hesitation within a small window of opportunity to shut the virus out.

  46. @ David.

No sir that is the ruling of the AG and he clearly said NO HARDWARES FOR RETAIL PURPOSES.

it is no error my friend trust me!

  47. On the lighter side this 2 week curfew could make or break some relationships, imagine many people having to spend more time with their other half. No more out with the “boys” or “girls” past 8.00pm.

    “Boys” or “Girls” = Stepney.

  48. Now govts are looking to hard solutions that disrupt the economies along with people livelihoods and putting innocent peoples lives at risk when a simplistic measure in place was all it took with bets that more lives would be saved and although the economy might have taken a financial loss in goods and services the end result would be one of saving lives
An unemployment level less severe than What is happening now
A slow but negligible opening of productive markets
And small islands markets would have come face to face with the severity of the virus which would have forced them to work and support each other with a semblance of community spirit
Now govt has given a list of do’s and dont’s after three months of living in pretense that the virus would simply go away
    Wrong Wrong Wrong
Btw China recently closed its borders to foreigners out of a fear that the virus might re-emerge
This is another warning shot that must be listened to carefully coming from China
