To return to Trump ….Today is day 1075 since President Trump’s inauguration in January 2017. According to the Washington Post, by December 16, 2019, he, Trump, had made a mere 15,413 false or misleading statements (otherwise known as lies). Some claim that he even lied about his father, Fred Trump’s place of birth.

Arguably, the Post’s figures might well have been inaccurate. We do not know and we will never know the exact number of lies Trump would have told family, friends, acquaintances, strangers, his Cabinet members individually or collectively, or even lies he might have told himself during the period. The Post’s figures might therefore have been limited to his “public” lies, and the Post’s estimate far too low.

Such has been POTUS’s achievement here – a far cry from President George Washington who allegedly never told a lie – that American social scientists have now developed a new category pertaining to lies: awarding politicians, such as Trump, “the bottomless Pinocchio”. He is clearly unable to control his lying; a medical condition sometimes known as “mythomania”.

By contrast, a pastor friend, a diehard Trump supporter and a black evangelical here in the N.E USA, like another friend and former Barbados unsuccessful political candidate in last year’s May 24, 2018 election; these see Trump, notwithstanding his “truthful hyperbole” as a great man of destiny. To be fair, the Pastor’s wife, more wise, more discerning, early intimated that as far as she could see “God is not the author of confusion”.

The die, however, has now been cast; the Mueller Report completed; the transcript made available; the Whistleblower’s report publicized; ditto the IG’s report; the respective House Committees have done their inquiries and Reports. and the House has voted its two Articles of Impeachment. The Senate reconvenes in short order.

It now remains for the Senate under Chief Justice Roberts to schedule and conduct its impeachment trial of the President, a rarity, in the context of looming Primaries and a 2020 Presidential election. Senators McConnell and Graham, prospective jurors in any impeachment trial, have said that they already decided the matter. What happens if or when Senator Schumer and the Democratic Senate minority somehow file with C.J Roberts a motion to disqualify McConnell and Graham and any other juror who has already prejudged the matter? And, witnesses such as Bolton and Mulvaney? Remember that for many Republicans Trump remains the only game in town.

It is therefore appropriate to essay some brief, if random, remarks on POTUS, his Administration, certain of its policies and his prospects at this juncture.

In using the term “pre-mortem”, I do not mean to suggest that Trump’s defeat this November is a foregone conclusion. We have been here before with disastrous consequences, as former Secretary of State Clinton belatedly discovered. In a sense, he must harp on the economy. and his apparent “success” …. the economy stupid”?

Yet, there is an inescapable law of diminishing returns. Just ask any older man. (Even King David, 1 Kings 1, when he was old and cold). This law, it seems, applies in almost every sphere, including politics.

Consider a politician, a man not unlike Trumpf who thinks one way. He then speaks a second way. He then acts a third way. He trifles, obfuscates, deflects, dissembles, even lies. Bullshit and trivia persist as standard, daily political fare. His public, usually fickle, often misinformed, uninformed or even dis-informed. But, as Lincoln remarked, you can trick them some of the time, but not all of them all of the time.

As reasonable people, we must therefore resist the idea of The Idiot Posing as Intellect, or some Trump (The Tramp-in-Chief), a renegade bolshevik businessman and Putin stooge masquerading and declaring himself (soi-disant) a man of high IQ and “a very stable” geni-ass. (Cf. his late Wharton School Professor, William T. Kelley, a nonagenarian, who described him as “the dumbest goddam student” he, Professor Kelley, ever had in more than 40 years teaching at Wharton; Kissinger’s reference to him as not having “a very orderly mind”; or Tillerson’s description of him – unretracted – as a “moron”; his former lawyer, Attorney Cohen’s testimony that he pressured Fordham and Wharton not to release Trump’s academic transcripts; his absence from the Dean’s list at Wharton despite his boast that he had graduated “top of his class” at Wharton; all in the context wherein he (Trump) demanded to see President Obama’s transcripts and academic materials). Truly, a man of seemingly impregnable, untouchable ignorance, with legions of rats of all varieties scurrying around upstairs.

Perhaps, Republican Senator Romney, when he was thinking more clearly, had Trump’s measure, when he counseled Trump against releasing his tax returns, and then subsequently described him as a “fraud” and a “conman”. Thus, by way of example, Trump has always proclaimed his love for the military. Yet, beyond his serial draft dodging, and whatever his personal demons, the only war he (Trump) seems ever to have fought may well have been limited to some gilded boudoir with relatively expensive “toys” such as “Stormy” Daniels and Karen McDougal, going rate between US $125K and $150K.

No one can say that he (Trump) had been in the US Air Force; then exiled himself to Canada, Sweden, Denmark, the U.K., or elsewhere, rather than kill so-called “gooks” in the “swamps” and muddy/paddy fields of Vietnam. He made the great escape. He now poses as a “chicken hawk”, like many another draft dodger.

The Reader might still note that in terms of re-election strategy, it is still open to Trump and his advisers to start a war, if necessary, and before the elections, if this will gee up his domestic support. E.g in the case of Iran. Many a red blooded American would then rally to “the cause”, with typical shouts of “USA” “USA”. The problem will be one of graduated response and escalation? In response, the Ayatollahs and the Iranian National Guard may have to decide on the feasibility of shutting down the Gulf – following up on their attack on Saudi oil infrastructure some time ago. Beyond profiteering by armaments manufacturers, the military-industrial complex, billionaire investors, what would be the implications for the world economy, OECD and LDC countries and the least developed countries?

As to the issue of race, Trump’s re-election strategy, the Black, Latino and minority vote.

Fortunately, many no longer deny the fact that POTUS is a racist. For too long, the naive denied this fact, despite the overwhelming evidence, (his spawning of birtherism, his notorious ads about the Central Park Five after their sentences had been vacated and all criminal charges against them withdrawn; the EEOC housing discrimination complaints against him – I would not be surprised if there was not at least one Barbadian family allegedly victim of his housing discrimination; his abuse of African countries and Haiti as “s—hole” countries; his attacks on the inner city as “rat and rodent infested”; his own admission that he is a “white nationalist”).

As to his palpable disdain for Mexicans, rumor once did percolate that his daughter, Tiffany, had dated a wealthy Mexican young man while at Wharton. Imagine some Mexican with his grubby paw on his beautiful, pristine, blonde, blue-eyed daughter! Enough to make a “nationalist” nauseous! Who knows the source(s) of his animus against Mexico and Mexicans?

To my mind, to deny that President Trump is a good old fashioned racist largely surrounded by white supremacist advisers, such as Stephen Miller, is like witnessing a man in a bank, pointing his gun at employees and customers on the bank’s floor, and denying that the gunman was a bank robber. What stupid poppy cock!

Yet, Trump can still make inroads into the Black Vote (with “Blacks For Trump” and some of his allies). What if Trump and his advisers, including Secretary Carson, following the reparations advocates decide to expend some political capital and give black families some sort of money (not “40 acres and a mule”, far less will do), or even Yang’s “Freedom Dividend”? Many a hungry belly black may well be seduced by such an obvious political ploy and vote for Trump.

As to his foreign policy, unlike the Kennedy Doctrine, the Johnson Doctrine, the Nixon Doctrine, and others, the Trump doctrine seems at best a series of ad hoc, incoherent, non-sequential non-points, never going beyond slogans such as “MAGA” and “America First”, reflecting Trump’s typical, torrential nonsensical tweets.

Several decades ago, the British Yearbook of International Law kindly published an article that I had written on some aspects of trade in the natural resources of Namibia (1990?). The French Revue des Revues subsequently dismissed the article in two words “tres interessante”. However, we all got it wrong. There was/is no such country as Namibia, per Trump in one of his recent addresses to the UNGA, He should be forgiven for not knowing the name of such a namby pamby “s–hole” country. And, thank God for small mercies insofar as he did not confuse Namibia with NAMBLA.

Imagine, also, that iyou were an immigrant, a green card holder, and a veteran who had been deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan or Syria. You return “home” to the USA. You find yourself in conflict with the law, felony or misdemeanor. You are convicted in a court of law. You are then deported to Mexico courtesy of a Commander-in-Chief who never served. (ICE officials who might never have served either). And, there are several hundreds such deported veterans in limbo in Mexico, a country they would have left in their very early childhood when their parents brought them to the US as minor children.

We need not speak of the moral obloquy involved in Trump’s policy of separating immigrant children from their parents and caging them, with resulting psychological problems.

In the final analysis, in Trump, we have a man singularly classless, embarrassingly clueless, uninformed and unfathomably uncouth. Bristling with hubris, fire and brimstone, he is more the common man’s” Lord Haw Haw”. But, give him credit. He has normalized the abnormal…He has successfully weaponized unspeakable, mass ignorance and intellectual dishonesty in the U.S. No wonder he says he loves “the poorly educated”). He has so consolidated his leadership of the Republican Party, and might yet demoralize his divided 2020 democratic opposition, all with untold implications.

Caveat: As I have said, always beware of any politician who promises that he will end corruption and “drain the swamp”. Experience teaches that he merely brings in his own new, personal swamp, a la Trump.

A second term, however, is no picnic. Just as Nixon defeated George McGovern overwhelmingly and was then driven from Office, early in his second term; just as Bill Clinton’s Presidency was almost derailed early in his second term by the Lewinsky affair, so too Trump’s chickens may come home to roost before any second term or early in his second term if he should win. Few, if any, at any rate, can indefinitely survive a thousand cuts.

Judicial Watch sues DOJ, CIA for ‘whistleblower’s’ emails
    December 31, 2019

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, has gone out of his way to protect the identity of the so-called “whistleblower” whose complaint sparked the impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump.

Schiff’s desperate efforts may be for naught, however. Judicial Watch has filed lawsuits to obtain the “whistleblower’s” communications, a move that may also expose Schiff’s suspected role in launching the inquiry.

Judicial Watch is seeking communications from CIA analyst Eric Ciaramella from both the DOJ and the CIA, noting that Ciaramella has been “widely reported” to be the so-called “whistleblower.”

While the “whistleblower’s” identity has yet to be officially confirmed, any mention of that name has drawn an over-the-top outraged reaction from Schiff, his fellow Democrats, and his allies in the establishment and social media realms — a reaction that seems even more convincing than an official confirmation would be.

Conservatives have questioned why Schiff would so fervently oppose the naming of the “whistleblower,” particularly if he did such a noble thing in filing a formal complaint against the president that launched the current and ongoing impeachment saga? Could it be because Schiff’s office secretly coordinated with the “whistleblower” ahead of the formal filing of the complaint?

    What we know
In an op-ed for the New York Post, Betsey McCaughey notes that Schiff hired a new staff member, Sean Misko, just one day after Trump’s July 25 call to the Ukrainian president. Misko was a close friend and co-worker of Ciaramella at the National Security Agency in the White House.

Before filing the complaint in August, it is known that the “whistleblower” sought “guidance” on how to do so from Schiff’s office — contact that Schiff initially denied only to later admit as much when called out over it.

Making matters a bit more suspicious for Schiff, McCaughey writes, is that of the closed-door hearings that he oversaw as part of the impeachment inquiry, the only one that has yet to have a transcript be publicly released is that of Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson.

Atkinson was the initial recipient of the complaint and made the decision to forward it to Congress even though the claims in it were admittedly hearsay. His testimony likely contains key information about the so-called “whistleblower,” McCaughey says.

    Accountability
Judicial Watch says there is “significant public interest” in the actions and identity of the “whistleblower.”

“He was involved in the Russia collusion investigation, and he was a key CIA operative on Ukraine in the both the Obama and Trump White Houses. Our lawsuits are designed to break through the unprecedented cover-up of his activities,” Judicial Watch announced.

Earlier in December, Judicial Watch also sued Schiff and the House Intelligence Committee over the release of phone records involving Rudy Giuliani, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) and journalist John Solomon. Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, said:

Schiff and his Committee ran roughshod over the rule of law in pursuit of the abusive impeachment of President Trump. This lawsuit serves as a reminder that Congressman Schiff and Congress are not above the law.

Rudy Giuliani Says He’s Ready to ‘Do Demonstrations’ During Impeachment Trial
Many in the GOP surely rolled their eyes at this suggestion.

    ByAndrew WestonJanuary 1, 2020

At the center of the UkraineGate scandal is Rudy Giuliani, and it appears as though he intends to remain there.

The former mayor of The Big Apple has been working as President Trump’s personal lawyer as of late, and in doing so has found himself in the center of his longtime friend’s impeachment fiasco.

Giuliani has long been trafficking in strange theories regarding Ukraine, particularly as it pertains to the work of Joe and Hunter Biden in the tiny European nation, and those who believe President Trump acted inappropriately during phone calls with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky have blamed Rudy for much of it.

Despite this, Mr. Mayor continues to seat himself front and center in the media, now admitting that he’s prepared to “do demonstrations” during the coming Senate impeachment trial.

“I would testify. I would do demonstrations. I’d give lectures. I’d give summations,” Giuliani said Tuesday night when asked about the possibility during a New Year’s Eve celebration at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

“Or, I’d do what I do best: I’d try the case. I’d love to try the case,” he said. “I don’t know if anybody would have the courage to give me the case, but if you give me the case, I will prosecute it as a racketeering case, which I kind of invented anyway.”

The former prosecutor said it had been 30 years since he tried such a case, “but let’s see if I can still do it.”

Rudy has been a bit of an annoyance for many in the Republican Party, who would rather stick to the nuts and bolts of the case and move on.

  7. @ John:

    Google defines a politician as

    (1) a person who is professionally involved in politics, especially as a holder of or a candidate for an elected office, and

(2). A person who acts in a manipulative or devious way, typically to gain advancement within an organization.

Trump meets either prong of the definition. Like Humpty Dumpty, words (e.g “a politician”) do not simply mean what we arbitrarily choose them to mean.

  8. @ GP, where is your evidence that Trump did/does not need to spend a load of money to persuade the rich business people abroad to re-gather in the USA with money to rebuild factories and create jobs and a better economy that is benefiting both blacks and Latinos?

If Trump was more than another gigolo turned politician, and as rich and his campaign as self-financed as he claimed, he would have promoted much needed campaign finance reform immediately he took office.

Also, few deny that his tax breaks favor the wealthy disproportionately and have little or no real impact on the majority of Black and Latino workers, whose wages have not risen in real terms in decades.

Note that Democratic billionaire candidate, Tom Steyer, ($37 bn)whose father was a Prosecutor at the Nuremberg trials, describes Trump as “a fraud and a failure”.

Similarly, M. Bloomberg, another billionaire Democratic candidate ($52 bn) has no respect for Trump’s easily debunked claims of being a great economic genius.

BTW, how many casinos did he, Trump, bankrupt? How does one bankrupt a casino?

  9. @ GP, re Judicial Watch etc, much of this can be dismissed as whining on the part of Trump’s defenders. “Woe is me”. “I am a victim too”.

Any whistle blower has the moral and legal right to be protected in circumstances where a madcap President mentions “treason”, “execution”, as possible punishment for the whistle blower.

Remember also Kathy Griffin, the comedienne, who along with Anderson Cooper hosted The Time Sq New Year’s Eve Ball, how she was maligned, threatened, bullied, blackballed and seriously intimidated, after what might be considered a momentary lapse of judgment, like any outrageous comedienne, for posing with a replica of a severed head.

Sad, if not obscene, that Trump’s defenders would defend POTUS’s abuse of the Constitution, and deny the whistleblower necessary protection.

If you deny a whistleblower necessary protection, pray tell who will ever blow the whistle on corruption?

P.S: Ignore Giuliani. Like POTUS’s former attorney and former Campaign Mgr., Attorneys Cohen and Manafort, (who are currently in jail), Giuliani, POTUS’s private attorney, is currently under investigation in the SDNY and, despite all his bluster and bravado, looking directly down the barrel of a Prosecutor’ gun, which might well result in his incarceration unless he is able to – utilize the “insurance” he claims he has, and somehow plead the matters away.

  10. @ Piece:

What is this garbage about “ready-made Trump articles which, because of seething racist undertones, will be assured to get people vexed and flamed ….”.

    Elevate, please.

It is not the writer’s racist undertones m, but Trump, by dint of his checkered personal history, his unfortunate, often idiotic, provocative words and his uninformed actions.

What do we keep seeing here, do not depend on google!!

Let’s apply google’s logic to Trump.

Trump’s paycheck is $1.00/year as the holder of the office of President.

Hardly a profession most would pursue and call it a profession.

    More perhaps a vocation.

Trump is vocationally, not professionally involved in politics, but many people are.

He is the President because that is his vocation.

Everybody is involved in politics or in advancement in the organizations in which they work professionally in some form or fashion devious or not, but that doesn’t make everybody a politician.

    Maybe it does, maybe not!!

It is routinely said that Trump is neither a Conservative or a Republican!!

It is unlikely that a generic politician can beat Trump … google WSJ!!

He is the holder of an elected office and has announced (??) he will be a candidate in 2010.

That’s the closest google could come but it is still imprecise.

    Does any elected office qualify?

For example, in the Lower School at HC I seem to remember an election for the form monitor,

You mean although he isn’t really a politician and, he might beat the generic democrat politicians who exude class (like Auntie Maxine), are full of knowledge and informed (like Joe Biden), and not in the least uncouth (Bill Clinton).

Here is an example of generic democrat politicians trying for the nomination in 2020.

Here is their opponent, definitely not a generic politician being Presidential!!

  17. TRUMP FIGHTS FOR AMERICA!

EXCELLENT READ A GREAT ONE INDEED! THE MAYOR OF LIVERMORE CALIFORNIA EXPLAINS TRUMP’S POPULARITY AND SUCCESS. THIS IS PERHAPS THE BEST EXPLANATION FOR TRUMP’S POPULARITY

Marshall Kamena is a registered Democrat and was elected mayor of Livermore, CA.. He ran on the democratic ticket as he knew a Bay Area city would never vote for a Republican. He is as conservative as they come. He wrote the following from an article, originally written by Evan Sayet and his opinion he expressed as a columnists for Townhall.com were his own and did not represent the views of Townhall.com, were mistakenly attributed to Marshall Kamena by me.

Trump’s ‘lack of decorum, dignity, and statesmanship’ By Evan Sayet in his article “He Fights

My Leftist friends (as well as many ardent #NeverTrumpers) constantly ask me if I’m not bothered by Donald Trump’s lack of decorum. They ask if I don’t think his tweets are “beneath the dignity of the office.”

Here’s my answer: We Right-thinking people have tried dignity. There could not have been a man of more quiet dignity than George W. Bush as he suffered the outrageous lies and politically motivated hatreds that undermined his presidency.

    We tried statesmanship.

Could there be another human being on this earth who so desperately prized “collegiality” as John McCain?

We tried propriety – has there been a nicer human being ever than Mitt Romney?

AND THE RESULTS WERE ALWAYS THE SAME. THIS IS BECAUSE, WHILE WE WERE PLAYING BY THE RULES OF DIGNITY, COLLEGIALITY AND PROPRIETY, THE LEFT HAS BEEN, FOR THE PAST 60 YEARS, ENGAGED IN A KNIFE FIGHT WHERE THE ONLY RULES ARE THOSE OF SAUL ALINSKY AND THE CHICAGO MOB.

I don’t find anything “dignified,” “collegial” or “proper” about Barack Obama’s lying about what went down on the streets of Ferguson in order to ramp up racial hatreds because racial hatreds serve the Democratic Party.

I don’t see anything “dignified” in lying about the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi and imprisoning an innocent filmmaker to cover your tracks.

I don’t see anything “statesman-like” in weaponizing the IRS to be used to destroy your political opponents and any dissent.

Yes, Obama was “articulate” and “polished” but in no way was he in the least bit “dignified,” “collegial” or “proper.”

THE LEFT HAS BEEN ENGAGED IN A WAR AGAINST AMERICA SINCE THE RISE OF THE CHILDREN OF THE ‘60’S. TO THEM, IT HAS BEEN AN ALL-OUT WAR WHERE NOTHING IS HELD SACRED AND NOTHING IS SEEN AS BEYOND THE PALE.. IT HAS BEEN A WAR THEY’VE FOUGHT WITH VIOLENCE, THE THREAT OF VIOLENCE, DEMAGOGUERY AND LIES FROM DAY ONE – THE VIOLENT TAKE-OVER OF THE UNIVERSITIES – TILL TODAY.

The problem is that, through these years, the Left has been the only side fighting this war. While the Left has been taking a knife to anyone who stands in their way, the Right has continued to act with dignity, collegiality and propriety.

With Donald Trump, this all has come to an end. Donald Trump is America ’s first wartime president in the Culture War.

During wartime, things like “dignity” and “collegiality” simply aren’t the most essential qualities one looks for in their warriors. Ulysses Grant was a drunk whose behavior in peacetime might well have seen him drummed out of the Army for conduct unbecoming.

Had Abraham Lincoln applied the peacetime rules of propriety and booted Grant, the Democrats might well still be holding their slaves today.

LINCOLN RIGHTLY RECOGNIZED THAT, “I CANNOT SPARE THIS MAN. HE FIGHTS.”

General George Patton was a vulgar-talking.. In peacetime, this might have seen him stripped of rank. But, had Franklin Roosevelt applied the normal rules of decorum then, HITLER AND THE SOCIALISTS WOULD BARELY BE FIVE DECADES INTO THEIR THOUSAND-YEAR REICH.

TRUMP IS FIGHTING. AND WHAT’S PARTICULARLY DELICIOUS IS THAT, LIKE PATTON STANDING OVER THE BATTLEFIELD AS HIS TANKS OBLITERATED ROMMEL’S, HE’S SHOUTING, “YOU MAGNIFICENT BASTARDS, I READ YOUR BOOK!”

That is just the icing on the cake, but it’s wonderful to see that not only is Trump fighting, he’s defeating the Left using their own tactics. THAT BOOK IS SAUL ALINSKY’S RULES FOR RADICALS – A BOOK SO ESSENTIAL TO THE LIBERALS’ WAR AGAINST AMERICA THAT IT IS AND WAS THE PLAYBOOK FOR THE ENTIRE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION AND THE SUBJECT OF HILLARY CLINTON’S SENIOR THESIS.

It is a book of such pure evil, that, just as the rest of us would dedicate our book to those we most love or those to whom we are most indebted, Alinsky dedicated his book to Lucifer.

Trump’s tweets may seem rash and unconsidered but, in reality, he is doing exactly what Alinsky suggested his followers do. First, instead of going after “the fake media” — and they are so fake that they have literally gotten every single significant story of the past 60 years not just wrong, but diametrically opposed to the truth, from the Tet Offensive to Benghazi, to what really happened on the streets of Ferguson, Missouri — TRUMP ISOLATED CNN.. HE MADE IT PERSONAL.

Then, just as Alinsky suggests, he employs ridicule which Alinsky described as “the most powerful weapon of all.”… Most importantly, Trump’s tweets have put CNN in an untenable and unwinnable position. … They need to respond.

This leaves them with only two choices. They can either “go high” (as Hillary would disingenuously declare of herself and the fake news would disingenuously report as the truth) and begin to honestly and accurately report the news or they can double-down on their usual tactics and hope to defeat Trump with twice their usual hysteria and demagoguery. The problem for CNN (et al.) with the former is that, if they were to start honestly reporting the news, that would be the end of the Democratic Party they serve. It is nothing but the incessant use of fake news (read: propaganda) that keeps the Left alive.

Imagine, for example, if CNN had honestly and accurately reported then-candidate Barack Obama’s close ties to foreign terrorists (Rashid Khalidi), domestic terrorists (William Ayers & Bernardine Dohrn), the mafia (Tony Rezko) or the true evils of his spiritual mentor, Jeremiah Wright’s church.

Imagine if they had honestly and accurately conveyed the evils of the Obama administration’s weaponizing of the IRS to be used against their political opponents or his running of guns to the Mexican cartels or the truth about the murder of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and the Obama administration’s cover-up.

So, to my friends on the Left — and the #NeverTrumpers as well — do I wish we lived in a time when our president could be “collegial” and “dignified” and “proper”? Of course I do.

THESE AREN’T THOSE TIMES. THIS IS WAR. AND IT’S A WAR THAT THE LEFT HAS BEEN FIGHTING WITHOUT OPPOSITION FOR THE PAST 50 YEARS.

So, say anything you want about this president – I GET IT – HE CAN BE VULGAR, HE CAN BE CRUDE, HE CAN BE UNDIGNIFIED AT TIMES. I DON’T CARE. I CAN’T SPARE THIS MAN. HE FIGHTS FOR AMERICA!

    @ John
Your source for news about Trump is Fox News?
    Hahahahahahahahaha……..

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So which of the generic politicians from the Democratic Party do you think will beat Donald Trump?

  21. @ John:

Get a grip, John. Do you really believe that blacks and latinos are better off today under Trump, when in terms of real wages there has been no measurable, discernible progress, for decades in the USA? (Go ahead and blame Obama!).

Do you not have any concept or concern for economic and social justice (especially in a context of undisputed, increasing inequality in the USA, – the 1% vs. the 99% – fueling populist candidates such as Senators Sanders and Warren)?

Trump’s economic policies have disproportionately benefited whites – his political base/constituents – more so than blacks and Latinos in the US. He is concerned with white “America First”. If blacks and latinos, like Lazarus at Dives’ table, somehow get a crumb, he will then trumpet this as how great he is for blacks and latinos. Remember how he tossed out paper towels to the survivors of the hurricane in Puerto Rico – those Puerto Ricans are in Trump’s world view probably not American(s), just like “Mexicans”, and other immigrants of color.

None of this can be seriously disputed.

Kindly therefore point to some hard data specifics rather than repeat Fox, Republican, uncontrolled, right wing anal driveling.

Let us resolve to refrain from such “putrid nonsense”. As the late Dr. Waldo Waldron Ramsey would have said, it simply “boggles the mind”.

  22. @John

With two Senators expressing concerns McConnell as the whip must exercise good judgement?

  23. When Blacks in USA were fighting for equal rights and was deemed subversive to the powers that be, the African states were silent as they received Aid from USA and were paid to shut up as quid pro quo.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Not if Pelosi doesn’t deliver.

If 3 Democrats in Congress can make the vote against impeachment a bipartisan one, how many Democrat Senators are feeling the heat?

McConnell just needs to watch as events unfold and make his play.

  25. He is playing a dangerous game. The Senate is configured to be independent in an impeachment trial even if there is the argument that the congress was not. For some of his senators to be publicly stating their minds are made up says what?

Get a grip, John. Do you really believe that blacks and latinos are better off today under Trump, when in terms of real wages there has been no measurable, discernible progress, for decades in the USA?

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Why do you think Trump’s approval among Blacks and Latinos is rising?

What effect will the lowest rate of unemployment among Blacks and Latinos have?

Trump represents the “proletariat”, the working class whose numbers are swelling as the economy grows.

The 20% elite he will never get, they control the press … CNN, NBC, etc etc … which brainwashes you.

In 2016 he got ~50% of the electorate with many Dems and Republicans preferring not to vote as both candidates were toxic.

He got both Democrats and Republicans, Americans if you like.

Trump has done what he said he would do.

    Voters in both camps see.

That ~50% has the potential to rise as high as ~80% but of course it won’t, there will be diehards.

But it is unlikely it will fall.

Barring the unforeseen, he will win in a landslide.

If you see the Democrats embracing something close to “Make America Great Again” they may have a chance of avoiding being swept from power but Crazy Bernie and that thinking is more likely to ensure its demise.

Remove the emotion and brainwashing and think objectively.

  27. @ John:

Senator McConnell has a low approval rating – in the mid 30% – among potential Kentucky voters. This means that he will be in a competitive race with Ret Lt Col Amy McGrath (USMC retired) in seeking re-election this year.

He therefore has to kiss Trump’s ass whenever and wherever possible, and deliver whatever Trump needs, if he is to get Trump’s much needed campaign support.

All this, notwithstanding the fact that Trump has been the greatest betrayer of so-called American democratic values and the US Constitution, indeed the greatest traitor in History since Judas Iscariot.

Do you wonder that “Christianity Today” and other sometimes right thinking persons have repudiated POTUS?

  28. I LAUGH REAL LOUD WHEN I HEAR PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT “Christianity Today” ESPECIALLY WHEN MOST FOLK ARE NEITHER CHRISTIANS OR CARE ABOUT CHRISTIANITY

DOES “Christianity Today” RENOUNCE GAY MARRIAGE AND ABORTIONS UP TO TERM AND THE OTHER MOST UN CHRISTIAN THINGS PROMOTED BY THE DEMOCRATS ESPECIALLY UNDER THE PERFECT SINLESS BLACK PRESIDENT?

LET US CONTINUE TO HATE TRUMP AND WISH FOR HIS DEMISE BUT LEAVE OUT THE “Christianity Today” BULLSHIT TALK

  29. @ John:

“Trump represents the proletariat ….”. (LOL)! You are good. COMIC RELIEF. The billionaire as representative of the proletariat?

See Herbert Marcuse and others on “false consciousness”.

Dream on, John; keep dreaming; it is your dream. But, others’ nightmare.

Surely, stoogeism must have its limits? Trump will certainly curry favor with a number of forgetful stoolies, but the majority of blacks will hopefully see him for what he is.

Also, go look at the small businesses and proletariat class employees he stiffed in his various bankruptcy filings. I guess he discharged those debts for the benefit of the proletariat.

Old LBJ signed into law about 250 give away programs that makes things worse today. How did “Great Society” work out? Just another gaping hole in the hull of our Ship of State. That’s the way it started, Exactly what he did, created the welfare state. WORST CRIME EVER COMMIT ON THE BLACK POPULATION. WELFARE was started by Johnson AS A WAY TO GET VOTES. That is EXACTLY why LBJ pushed his “war on poverty” and “Great Society”; to make sure that poor minorities voted DEMIKKKRAT for the next century or two. DEMIKKKRATS moved them from working on the plantation for “masa” in the big house to the “hood” getting welfare from “masa” in the White House.

Johnson made it LEGAL to STEAL from working AMERICANS, and GIVE to the lazy for VOTES. Johnson said: we will have those n word voting for us for decades. LBJ Screwed up our whole country. Forced families to be single mothers to get welfare that was the destruction of Black Families and the Ripple effect of what we are witnessing of Fatherless homes!

LBJ WAS IN ON TRYING TO LEAD THIS COUNTRY INTO SOCIALISM!!

THE SOCIALIST DEMOCRATS WANT TO DESTROY AMERICA
    SAVE AMERICA FIRE THE DEMOCRATS
    SAVE AMERICA VOTE TRUMP 2020

  31. In terms of our “perfect” “sinless”, black President, I have often disagreed with his policies, but he was/is infinitely preferable to the present Tramp-in-Chief.

Kindly also note that a substantial number of Republicans in the elites (including Log Cabin Republicans) support gay marriage and abortion rights.

It is therefore uninformed BS to blame Democrats for wrongheaded decisions by SCOTUS in legalizing gay marriage. Ditto abortion rights, although there is some evidence pointing towards the eventual reversal of Roe v. Wade and limitations on abortion rights.

Re same sex marriage, I personally, still stand with the BCP, which contemplates marriage between a man and a woman. But that is my personal preference.

However, you seem arbitrary and selective —- when “Christianity Today” supported the Tramp-in-Chief, his sympathizers praised them. When they courageously reversed their position – the lowly worm somehow turned – you go ballistic. What a double standard. What selective, partisan nonsense. Another example of asinine drizzling,

  34. The charges come from John Guandolo, the founder of Understanding the Threat, an organization that trains and consults with federal, state and local leaders and agencies “to defeat the jihadi threat.”

In an interview with Jamie Glazov on the “Glazov Gang,” Guandolo said, “I think if you’re going to stand beside John Brennan like a number of people have and they’ve officially put their names on a list, your putting yourself in the enemy camp.”

He continued: “John Brennan what he’s guilty of is sedition, and I would argue treason. This isn’t something that happened in the last two years. He’s made an entire adult life time of this.”

TRENDING: Video shows Apache attack helicopter light up sky over U.S. Embassy in Iraq

Guandolo noted that Brennan admitted voting for the Communist Party candidate in the 1976 election, Gus Hall.

“And then you look at the organizations he has supported,” Guandolo said. “Numerous Muslim Brotherhood jihadi organizations in the U.S. that he’s supported, and his behavior toward our system and toward the leadership, specifically the president of the United States.”

Guandolo graduated in 1989 from the U.S. Naval Academy and took a commission in the U.S. Marine Corps. In 1996, he began working at the FBI’s Washington headquarters.

He worked in the Counterterrorism Division, developing an expertise in the Muslim Brotherhood, Islamic doctrine, the global Islamic Movement and terrorist organizations, including Hamas and al-Qaida.

He was declared an Islam subject matter expert in 2006, and he eventually created the FBI’s Counterterrorism Training Program, focused on the Muslim Brotherhood and Islamic doctrine.

Brennan, since leaving the CIA, has been a severe critic of President Trump. The New York Times reported U.S. Attorney John Durham is investigating Brennan’s role in the 2016 election, seeking his emails, call logs and other documents.

The federal prosecutor wants to find out what Brennan told other officials, including former FBI Director James B. Comey, about his and the CIA’s views of the debunked Steele dossier’s assertions about Russia and Trump associates.

The Times noted Trump has accused Brennan of being part of a “deep state” cabal that tried to sabotage his campaign.

Durham is also examining whether Brennan privately contradicted his public comments about the dossier and Russian interference, including in May 2017 testimony to Congress.

    Sorry about the ‘bad information’

Brennan, now a CNN commentator, has accused Trump of treason, alleging he was an agent of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

But he was forced to backtrack when special counsel Robert Mueller concluded that there was no collusion with Russia by the Trump campaign.

Brennan told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” at the time: “I don’t know if I received bad information, but I think I suspected there was more than there actually was.”

The Washington Post reported that in August 2016, Brennan requested a meeting with President Obama after compiling claims of Russian interference in the election.

That same month, Brennan briefed then-Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid about the Steele, which was funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee. Reid then transmitted some of the information in a letter to the FBI.

Brennan already has been investigated for testifying falsely under oath before the House Intelligence Committee that the Steele dossier played no role in the intelligence community’s much-touted conclusion that Russia interfered in the 2016 election.

Brennan further declared he did not know who commissioned the dossier, even though senior national security and counter-intelligence officials at the Justice Department and FBI knew the previous year it was funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

Brennan has been accused of lying on other occasions.

After Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., accused the CIA of spying on members of the Senate by hacking into computers used by her intelligence committee’s staffers, Brennan said, “Let me assure you the CIA was in no way spying on [the committee] or the Senate.”

However, a CIA inspector general’s report found the CIA was indeed spying on the Senate, and Brennan was forced to privately apologize to intelligence committee members.

Brennan also claimed in a 2011 speech that there had not been “a single collateral death” from U.S. drone strikes because of their “exceptional proficiency [and] precision.’”

However, the Bureau of Investigative Journalism found that one U.S. drone strike alone had killed 42 Pakistanis, “most of them civilians.”

Brennan is regarded as the architect of the now debunked Trump-Russia collusion claim. But he apparently doesn’t understand the foundational premise of the American justice system, innocent until proven guilty.

In an interview with MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” he said “people are innocent, you know, until alleged to be involved in some kind of criminal activity.”

An allegation is made, media runs with the narrative, the seed of possibility of guilt is implanted in the minds of zombie Americans, and the accused is maligned forever – no court required. Simple. And now, none other than former CIA Director John Brennan clarifies exactly how the deep state sees ‘due process’…”

NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo Vetos Bipartisan Bill to Let Judges Marry People Because It Would Extend to Trump Appointees
    By Connor MannionDec 23rd, 2019, 2:25 pm

New York’s Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo has vetoed a bipartisan bill giving federal judges the ability to marry people because he disapproves that the law would extend to Donald Trump appointees.

The legislation was sponsored by Democratic state Sen. Liz Krueger and passed both branches of the New York State Legislature by wide margins. It passed the Democratic-controlled state Senate by a 61-to-1 vote and it passed the Democratic-controlled state Assembly by a 144-to-2 tally.

“I cannot in good conscience support legislation that would authorize such actions by federal judges who are appointed by this federal administration,” Cuomo’s veto message said, according to NBC News.

“President Trump does not embody who we are as New Yorkers,” the Democratic governor added Friday. “The cornerstones that built our great state are diversity, tolerance and inclusion. Based on these reasons, I must veto this bill.”

The bill would have allowed all federal judges in the state of New York to officiate weddings.

Krueger said in a statement that “I didn’t consider this to be a major issue.”

“Four years ago, we gave the governor the ability to perform marriages,” she continued. “Two years ago, we gave legislators that ability. Marriage in New York is inclusive, equal, and open to all who want it. So when it was suggested to me that we expand it to federal judges, I thought, ‘Why not? The more the merrier!’

  42. Vox Says Trump’s Judges ‘More Qualified’ Than Obama’s
The notoriously liberal online publication ‘Vox’ has made stunning admission, effectively admitted that Trump’s judicial appointees are more qualified than Barack Obama’s were.

    As Breitbart reports:

President Donald Trump boasts that he is nominating judges to the federal bench at a faster pace than President Barack Obama did. It turns out that Trump’s judges are not only more conservative, but also more qualified, too.

    As Vox.com noted last week:

There’s no completely objective way to measure legal ability, but a common metric used by legal employers to identify the most gifted lawyers is whether those lawyers secured a federal clerkship, including the most prestigious clerkships at the Supreme Court. Approximately 40 percent of Trump’s appellate nominees clerked for a Supreme Court justice, and about 80 percent clerked on a federal court of appeals. That compares to less than a quarter of Obama’s nominees who clerked on the Supreme Court, and less than half with a federal appellate clerkship.

In other words, based solely on objective legal credentials, the average Trump appointee has a far more impressive résumé than any past president’s nominees.

It seems that even liberals can’t deny the superiority of Trump’s judicial appointments.
