Barbadians join former colonies to celebrate Emancipation Day on August 1.

There can be no disagreement the Black race had to endure a form of slavery that to this day weighs heavy on the conscience of world citizens. Some will engage in a spurious rebuttal that the immoral act of chattel slavery practiced on Black people should be distilled using a logic that it was the legitimate activity of the day. What cannot be refuted is that until the Slavery Act 1833 Blacks resident in the Mother Country (England) and its colonies were regarded as chattel. Then there was the apprenticeship period where the former slave masters exploited Blacks because it was determined that it was cheaper to pay a rock bottom wage or provide room and board to the former slave in exchange for labour.  A capitalist thinking?

The benefit of slavery is that the White race was able to accrue great wealth to build an establishment that to this day supports how the so called developed world does business to the marginalizing of minority populations. More fundamentally the period of Black slavery practiced by the British empire created a White supremacy mindset the legacy of which is with us today.  Dismantling the legacy thinking to promote an equal global community continues to be a work in progress. The establishment will not yield to demands from former colonies for reparations. It is not in the nature of man to surrender riches even if ill gotten. The blogmaster’s perspective is that demand for reparation by Barbados and other former colonies is not just about compensation in the form of a money transfer – it represents the opportunity for the former colonist to record on history’s page the egregious business of slavery.

We fast forward to 1 August 2018 and so the struggle continues as we celebrate Emancipation Day. Many Black Barbadians – especially the young – will remember today as a day to recover from attending RISE. How many will participate on the Emancipation walk to Bussa statue?  How many Blacks are aware there is a walk?

To Barbadians every where, the struggle continues to nurture a just society for all. One that we can make proud for our children and future generations to cohabitate on the planet. We must never forget what our Black forefathers had to endure to support what we have been able to achieve to date.

The following is the Emancipation Day message from Sir Hilary Beckles, the Chair of the Caricom Reparations Committee:-

Emancipation Day message from Chair, CARICOM Reparations Committee

Press Release

(PRESS RELEASE VIA SNO) – We join annually with communities across the world in marking the moment in which the crime of chattel enslavement was confronted and uprooted from our existential realities. For us, the moment is August 1st; other dates are determined elsewhere and officially recognized.

Marking the moment in a celebratory fashion remains necessary despite the despicable nature of the gesture of Emancipation, legislated by Britain in 1838. It was an act in which black peoples were finally defined by Parliament as property, and their enslavers deemed entitled to compensation for property loss.

Today is an opportunity for descendants of the enslaved, and enslavers, to reflect upon the causes and consequences of these crimes against humanity, and in particular their significance on how we live today, and will in the future.

Rising up from the barbarity of bondage, we have dedicated our development energies to the advancement of democratizing social values, with a primary emphasis on building societies that are free and fair; upon platforms of multiracialism and multiculturalism.

As descendants, we celebrate the values of human decency left as an additional burden for our ancestors to carry. Every day they imagined would be an Emancipation day. They protected and projected the best tried and tested human values – joys of family life, fine spirit of community living, vitality of food security and material production, moral commitment to equity and justice, and critically the overarching, indispensable importance of freedom as the source of all happiness.

Effectively transcending and conquering the legacies of enchainment, impoverishment and racial denigration continue to elude us. Residual elements of the plantation-based past continue to shape our societies and determine their trajectories.

This year, we find it necessary to litigate the restoration of democratic rights and citizenship, illegally stripped away by the British government from thousands of Caribbean descendants rightfully living in that country since the immigration door was opened to passengers aboard Empire Windrush in 1948.

Last year, evidence of hostility against the Caribbean community by the British state erupted against the background of data, unearthed by historians, showing that the finance bond, by which the British government raised £20 million in 1834 to pay reparations to slave owners, remained active until 2015.

This fact powerfully shows that, for the British state, the slavery world persisted well into the 21st century, putting to rest its argument that “slavery was a long time ago”. These contemporary examples show how the effects of historic crimes still surround our societies. ‘Emancipation’ for us remains a work in progress and in no way can be considered a distant event that is settled and closed.

It is specifically for these reasons that we celebrate Emancipation day as a moment in which we demand reparatory justice. The Caribbean calls upon the enslaving governments of Europe, and their national institutions, all enriched and empowered by their crimes against humanity, to return to the region in order to participate in cleaning up their colonial mess. The advancement of economic growth is dependent upon it; social justice is dependent upon it; and a 21st century humanity is dependent upon it.

As we confront the future, let us be guided by Sir Arthur Lewis, who stated in 1939 that the 200 years of unpaid labour extracted by the British from the enslaved people of the Caribbean is a debt that must be repaid to their descendants. This is important, he asserted, if we are to have a fair shot at sustainable development. Pushing ahead with a self-emancipatory agenda is critical, but we must do so fully conscious of this broader context of our development efforts.

Blessings to all on Emancipation day.

  1. What is the Opposite of Capitalism?

    Statism, in any form!

Statism is the concentration of power in the state at the expense of individual freedom. Capitalism is the only system which protects individual rights and freedom, but the variety of political systems which violate individual freedom are numerous: Socialism, Communism, Fascism, Nazism, absolute Monarchies, Military Dictatorships, Theocracies, or the Welfare State are all systems which infringe upon individual rights, which means they institutionalize the initiation of force against their citizens.

It must be realized that there are only two fundamental political philosophies: those who are for freedom and individual rights and those who are against them. The types of political systems who are against freedom and individual rights are numerous, for there are many ways to violate the rights of man, but there is only one political-economic philosophy which upholds that the rights of man are absolute and immutable— Free Enterprise (Capitalism).

    PLT wrote
” The foundation of much of White wealth in Barbados was the theft of labour from enslaved people of African descent for over 200 years.” No dispute.
    PLT also wrote
“to (sic) educated not to know that none of that capital stayed in Brazil. Little of it stayed in Barbados either. No dispute.
So are all, most or even a significant percentage of white Bajans wealthy today or were they once wealthy?

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Numbers are a bitch!!

    Walter saw that yesterday!!

PLT is numerate (like Walter) so he should be able to quantify the wealth of which he speaks!!

  3. Follow the money. Calculate how much £20 million in 1833 is worth in today’s currency. Dig into the history of specific investments in the key technologies of the industrial revolution.
    ++++++++++++++++++++

The monies coming out of compensation was invested into schools, churches and education.

The Anglican Church (as trustee?) was a major beneficiary of the lands, labour and material invested in the education of the freed slaves.

  4. How Very Interesting that the Enslavement of One Race is Being Erased to Perpetuate the Ideology of Hate & Divisiveness
Self-aggrandisement by the Socialist/Communist Professors those of the likes of the Beckles in our University while Enhancing their own Narrative.

They Came as Slaves: Human Cargo Transported on British Ships Bound for the Americas.
They were shipped by the hundreds of thousands and included men, women, and even the youngest of children.

Whenever they rebelled or even disobeyed an order, they were punished in the harshest ways. Slave owners would hang their human property by their hands and set their hands or feet on fire as one form of punishment. Some were burned alive and had their heads placed on pikes in the marketplace as a warning to other captives.
We don’t really need to go through all of the gory details, do we? We know all too well the atrocities of the African slave trade….

But are we talking About African Slavery?

    A MUST WATCH

John how can we advance the Barbados society given the fault lines which exist along racial lines. We know crypto racism exist.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

It is all in the mind.

Barbadians have interbred to the extent where it is idiotic to identify white and black.

    It is all about broughtupsey!!!

Family and Christian Values that once were important need to be explored.

    Right now, anything goes!!

But that starts within, it can’t be legislated, ordered or imposed.

Perhaps if corrupt leaders were the exception and not the norm our expectations of ourselves might be higher!!

  7. But John
if LITTLE of the wealth made off the backs of slaves stayed in Barbados….

  8. John if what you opine is true, explain the ongoing debate surrounding Herbert Rogers saga. Do agree the public discussion is being stoked along a race line?

  9. It has a lot to do with the distribution of the capital flows back to imperial centres of power. In the cases of Portugal, Spain and to a lesser extent France, the profits flowed disproportionately to the crown. Even in this case excessive wealth concentration is a very bad thing for economic development. In the British empire the profits from the slave and sugar trade were much more widely spread among the old landed and upcoming mercantile classes; they were then able to invest this capital in innovation much more productively than occurred in Portugal, France or Spain. The British case was also differentiated by the huge compensation paid to enslavers by the Slavery Abolition Act of 1833. The British government paid £20 million to fund the Act in 1833; this was equivalent to approximately 40% of that government’s total annual expenditure.

    +++++++++++++++++++

    Please quantify!!

America lost 500,000 of its sons and daughters ending slavery.

Yet, it is the most prosperous nation on earth!!

The Roman, Greek, Egyptian, Persian etc etc empires all had slavery but they are dust today!!

Technologically for the time these empires were cutting edge!!

The ending of slavery is one way that differentiates the societies of the past with those of the present.

The logical conclusion is that slavery on its own cannot sustain any longterm development.

The reason is simple …. either the oppression will cause rebellion or feeding, clothing and good treatment will lead to a population explosion that makes a society uneconomic.

… in other words the profits are either eaten or destroyed!!

  10. Beware One of the Adversary’s Fondest and Most Effective Tool Is Racism!

We have to recognize the Culprit and Rise above the Tide including those who uphold his ideology of Divisiveness! …The Adversary was a liar from the Beginning of time, and this is Evils Game, Always was and Still Is. Racism is one of his most deceptive tools. Do Not Allow the Race Game to reign on your parade; you are far too valuable to fall pray of its Snares… Just the thoughts from a person whose Ancestors were Slaves on Both sides of their lineage.

“The Foundation For ALL Tyrannies Is The Removal Of Free Agency”. The Adversary does not rest, his aim was and always to take away the Agency of man.

It’s time to Connect the Dots and see who is really behind Socialism et al, as well as the color of every tyranny known to mankind. This is the Adversary’s game…. Always has been.

This is not Black versus White, or Left versus Right or Jew versus Palestinian, this is a Good versus Evil, Freedom versus Tyranny and the culprit from the beginning of time has always been the Adversary. We have our eyes so clinched where they want us to in stirring up racism that we are forgetting the others that suffer Great Atrocities right now in real time, being slaughtered by the thousands. After the WWII genocide, we kept saying “never again”. But since then there has been Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and the Christians Middle Eastern territories. Even Saddam, as horrid as he was, never performed such atrocities. These people have lived there with their beliefs since the 5th century or earlier. Now convert to Islam or die. Are they less worthy of our outcries???

A Rose by another name will still smells as sweet in much the same way Slavery to a Slave is STILL SLAVERY!

The Chiefs in Africa used to war with each other and would sell their Captives to European Traders to get them out of the Country so they would not have to fight them again.

The Europeans engaged in the Slave trade as TRADERS they did not go into Africa and Conquer and capture Slaves.

Have you heard about modern day Slavery in Africa? What do you call when Muslim Extremist in Africa raid villages and capture children and make them solders to fight their cause?

Have you read of Boca Harran taking young women from their tribes and selling them as SEX SLAVES…Is that a different kind of Slavery??

This is Satan’s game, he was a liar from the beginning of time…The Adversary plans to destroy Liberty and Freedom-Economic, Political, and Religious, and set in place thereof the greatest, most widespread, and complete Tyranny that has ever oppressed men. He is working under such perfect disguise that many do not recognize either him or his methods and he has been at it since the beginning of time.

It is well to remember that Slavery in any shape form or colour whether from Ireland, Scotland and England or Africa is Anti-Christ, for where the Spirit of the lord is there is Liberty … 2 Corinthians 3: 17 and the opposite is Tyranny, Bondage and Slavery.

  13. Ducking and diving and jumping from one spot to the next in order to justify the whole slave regime won’t wash. Nor will playing the ‘good slave master’ tune about ‘educating the freed slaves’. How is it that after 200 years of enslavement, the English plantation owners, suddenly decided that the freed slaves didn’t need compensation for the crimes against humanity they had committed against them but instead needed to be ‘educated by the church’?

In any event, the main issues which you are still in denial over are:
    a) Atlantic Chattle slavery was a unique crime against humanity committed by European royal families and capitalists against millions of African people, for which to this day, they have never been held to account
    b) This crime and the proceedings from it enriched many in Europe and led to Europe’s economic transformation

These are the issues on which the denials have to end.

  16. Chattle slavery ended but then came the race to enslave black minds before they knew or realized what was happening, using the fraudulent church and bible, with a heavy dose of miseducation, brainwash education….and it succeeded…for decades post 1948..until present.

  17. There is no such thing as slavery in general. Slavery is an economic relationship between people which takes place within a particular economic system. The nature of the economic system determines the impact of slavery. Therefore slavery in Rome or the Arab world has nothing whatsoever to do with Atlantic Chattle slavery which was part of the birth of the modern capitalist global economic system.

You are being obtuse. I quantified what the British government paid to the enslavers. Your allegation that more than a minuscule percentage of this was invested in schools and churches is so ridiculous as to make one doubt your sanity because it would mean that you are alleging that the church was the major enslaver. The profits from the sugar and slave trade are matters of public record.

But we do agree that the enslavers of the American South wasted oceans of blood trying to defend enslavement. Some of those enslavers were descendants of Bajan Whites who had emigrated to the Carolinas. If you wish to understand how American as well as British capitalism was built on top of slavery read ‘Empire of Cotton: A New History of Global Capitalism’ by Sven Beckert. https://www.amazon.com/Empire-Cotton-History-Global-Capitalism/dp/024101171X

“The contribution from slavery cannot explain the economic prosperity of the West.”
So why did Europeans (Westerners) engage in such an Unchristian heinous act for 300 years?

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

You are asking the wrong question!!!

    You need to ask:

“How is it that it only took less than 200 years for the unchristian and heinous institution that had been the norm for thousands of years to be ended by so few?”

Churchill said “never in the history of human conflict has so much been owed by so many to so few”!!

He saw the need to limit his statement to human conflict.

Slavery was the norm, no one had ever fought to end it.

It was put out of its misery by first, the stroke of a pen!!

We should be trying to understand who were the wielders of the pen and why they did it!!

Understand the contribution of the few to the many!!

It is all in the mind!!

Then we might realise that Barbados is a World Heritage Site, every single blessed square inch!!

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++
You are acting ingenuous John, but you are keenly aware that some of the wealth that stayed in Barbados was the land itself. You are perfectly aware how White Bajans conspired to prevent Black Bajans from acquiring land. This was small potatoes compared to the wealth that ended up in Britain, but since your extended family owns thousands of acres of land in Barbados your whining rings a little hollow.

  23. I’m all in favour of moving forward harmoniously but we can only do that when we are all prepared to face certain truths.

As an African Bajan, I am ashamed that in my country, certain people can’t go to jail regardless of what they do while others can get lost away for the minutest of crimes. I’m ashamed that we still have this two tier system of rights as human beings and that it’s the majority who get the rough end of the stick. But I understand that all of this is rooted in the fact that we are still operating the old slave system put here by the English plantation owners.

In my opinion, moving forward together is going to require a shift in mindset and a willingness to accept that Barbados has to be for all Bajans and can’t continue to just be for the tiny minority. It also means acknowledging that crimes have been committed and some people have benefited and continue to benefit from them. When somebody sticks to denying even these basics, I’m not sure that they really want Barbados to move forward. Maybe it suits them the way it is.

  24. Yes, interdependence is a good word. Unless we are able to dismantle the establishment and unfreeze behaviors this will be a perennial discussion. We have to decide. As Peter said, we have to take the fight to the establishment, the establishment will want to naturally defend.

  25. Peter, land that has been encumbered in litigation for over a decade.

  26. “it would mean that you are alleging that the church was the major enslaver.”

That is no allegation..it is a well known fact and undeniable truth, the church benefitted tremendously from slavery, all those demons in the church were enslavers, the head of the anglican church was one of the demon Henrys or James of buckingham palace followed by many more demon Henrys and James…

..the church..both flavours…were adamant that slavery should not end and refused to apologize for their roles in keeping African people enslaved for many, many decades ..so yes, the slave money used to build churches and schools for unaware, beaten down blacks post slavery…was with the vile intent to enslave their minds instead of their bodies, which was no longer useful..not enough money to be made in breaking black bodies anymore, but many billions to be made destroying black minds.

I would watch out for the next nasty intent and work hard to dismantle those still existing destructive vehicles, if yall know what’s good for you..

As usual you are wrong. 620,000 soldiers died in the enslavers heinous attempt to preserve slavery through Civil War. Countless civilians also died directly as a result of the war, so the enslavers have oceans of blood on their hands in addition to the blood of enslaved people that they spilt with their evil ways.

The Empire of Cotton was destroyed by the arrival of steam power for ocean voyaging ships which removed the market for sails made of cotton. Please read the book.

  29. Wealth is just like electricity. At any point in time it can be produced and distributed but storing it while not impossible is not so easy. When the generator stops working then there is no more electricity. Electricity used yesterday cannot be recycled for use today.

I can barely add and subtract but 25% of 10 000 = 2500 while 5% of 250 000 = 12 500. In any event I am told that little of the wealth made off the backs of slaves stayed in Barbados. In 1966 the GDP of Barbados was $123.6 million USD and in 2016 the GDP of Barbados was $4.568 BILLION USD.

I think we are wasting time worrying about the past while the future slips out of hands. There isn’t a white person on Earth who can give me what I want.

  30. Barbados was primarily a slave port, where slaves passed through to Americas and some stayed.

Bajans need to identify and link with all Africans across the diaspora and in Africa.

The Slave Trade was financed by Share Trading which financed Atlantic Slave Trade Triangle and Global Trade Capitalism

The emphasis on Slave Trade was more on Trade than Slave.

Slaves sold for $1,000 (check posters) (worth $70,000 today’s value)

Slave Women were used for breeding up to 15 children from age 14.

  32. Slaves or Indentured Servants?…

There has been a lot of whitewashing of the Irish slave trade, partly by not mentioning it, and partly by labelling slaves as indentured servants. There were indeed indentureds, including English, French, Spanish and even a few Irish. But there is a great difference between the two. Indentures bind two or more parties in mutual obligations. Servant indentures were agreements between an individual and a shipper in which the individual agreed to sell his services for a period of time in exchange for passage, and during his service, he would receive proper housing, food, clothing, and usually a piece of land at the end of the term of service. It is believed that some of the Irish that went to the Amazon settlement after the Battle of Kinsale and up to 1612 were exiled military who went voluntarily, probably as indentureds to Spanish or Portuguese shippers.

However, from 1625 onward the Irish were sold, pure and simple as slaves. There were no indenture agreements, no protection, no choice. They were captured and originally turned over to shippers to be sold for their profit. Because the profits were so great, generally 900 pounds of cotton for a slave, the Irish slave trade became an industry in which everyone involved (except the Irish) had a share of the profits.

Ireland became the Biggest Source of Livestock for the English Slave Trade.

Few people today realize that from 1600 to 1699, Far More Irish were Sold as Slaves than Africans…

There were Horrendous Abuses by the Slavers, Both to Africans and Irish.

  34. ” White Bajans are the ones who are putting this huge impediment in the way of our common progress by spinning lies about our past.” You can’t be serious! 35. Just like this liar freedomcrier, will go on websites and copy their lies and push them on BU..this is a NYTimes article debunking the lies that the Irish were slaves in the US, they were not, indentured servitude was no picnic, but it was not slavery…..yet the liars still post the myth despite them being repeatedly asked to stop.

    “By Liam Stack
    March 17, 2017

It has shown up on Irish trivia Facebook pages, in Scientific American magazine, and on white nationalist message boards: the little-known story of the Irish slaves who built America, who are sometimes said to have outnumbered and been treated worse than slaves from Africa.

    But it’s not true.

Historians say the idea of Irish slaves is based on a misreading of history and that the distortion is often politically motivated. Far-right memes have taken off online and are used as racist barbs against African-Americans. “The Irish were slaves, too,” the memes often say. “We got over it, so why can’t you?”

A small group of Irish and American scholars has spent years pushing back on the false history. In 2016, 82 Irish scholars and writers signed an open letter denouncing the Irish slave myth and asking publications to stop mentioning it. Some complied, removing or revising articles that referenced the false claims, but the letter’s impact was limited.

A meme made from the 1908 Barbados photograph uses several false claims about Irish-American history to criticize African-Americans.
    Fact vs. Fiction

The Irish slave narrative is based on the misinterpretation of the history of indentured servitude, which is how many poor Europeans migrated to North America and the Caribbean in the early colonial period, historians said.

Without a doubt, life was bad for indentured servants. They were often treated brutally. Not all of them entered servitude willingly. Some were political prisoners. Some were children.

“I’m not saying it was pleasant or anything — it was the opposite — but it was a completely different category from slavery,” said Liam Hogan, a research librarian in Ireland who has spearheaded the debunking effort. “It was a transitory state.”

  36. The Empire of Cotton was destroyed by the arrival of steam power for ocean voyaging ships which removed the market for sails made of cotton.

    +++++++++++++++++++++

The market for cotton was a mass market, not sails!!

Cotton only became really valuable after 1795 when the Gin was invented.

That’s the year after which you will find that most slaves were imported to America.

At that time the few had been after the ending of slavery for years.

“But cotton was not to any appreciable extent a production of the Southern States anterior to the Revolutionary War, and its use as a material to be spun and woven , with its relative value as an article of national wealth, was hardly thought of in comparison with hemp and flax.”

“In 1784 an importation of eight bags of cotton at Liverpool was seized , on the assumption that so large a quantity could not have been of America n production.”

Peter, you are letting the imprecision of historians supplant the rigor of numerical analysis you got in Math!!

Start organizing whatever history you believe in chronological order (put a number) and then you will see the Historians you believe are out to sea.

  37. It clearly shows how whites spin lies to demean and degrade the efforts of African descendants out of spite, jealousy and their nasty parasitic nature.

    Same applies to you Walter!!!

The answer to the your first test in numeracy skills regarding the numbers of blacks lynched would more than likely have been along these lines.

Few if any in Barbados, “the cradle of truth” and in the US if you wanted to go there, probably few if any up to the 18th century!!

A lawyer can’t help you ,,,, but your math skills can!!

“… labelling slaves as indentured servants.”
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
This is a perfect example of the lies that some White people spread which hamper progress in Barbados. The legislation that gave legal standing to enslavement in Barbados was the Barbados Slave Code of 1661; the full title was ““An Act for the Better Ordering and Governing of Negroes.” It had been preceded in 1636 by a resolution of Barbados Council that Negroes and Indians should be life-long slaves but by 1661 genocide had taken care of the “Indians,”

In other words it was not possible within Barbados law to enslave an Irish, Scottish, or other person who was not a “Negro.” Period.

This lie is spread by White supremacists who are trying to marginalise the experience of enslavement. It is an evil and deliberate untruth.

Indentured servitude was a horrendous evil in its own right, but it was NOT enslavement. There is no reputable historian anywhere in the world who buys into this awful untruth.

  40. so if i am understanding John correctly, Blacks should thank those who ended black slavery instead of castigating those who started, participated in and profited from the Atlantic slave trade for almost 300 years?

  41. “A meme made from the 1908 Barbados photograph uses several false claims about Irish-American history to criticize African-Americans.”
    Fact vs. Fiction

Even the NYTimes realized that somebody in Barbados with that 1908 photograph and with an even nastier racist agenda is still pushing that lie worldwide that the Irish were slaves, false claims are lies and it’s frauds like freedomcrier who continue to push lies to destroy any progress the black population is trying to make to free their minds and take back what was stolen from them..

John is Jack Bowman and should also be banned for guilt by association. I spent about a month arguing with John trolling about reparations a year ago, If I knew he was Jack I wouldn’t have bothered.

The world should thank those who ended slavery …. but if the thread is followed through them it will lead to the Bible …. God!!

The Quakers only exist as a result of the Reformation and the advent of the Bible, God’s Word, in a form all mankind could read and attempt to understand on their own.

The world should glorify His name and honour Him in every human undertaking!!

  45. The Quakers were merely instruments of His will!!

“You are asking the wrong question!!!
    You need to ask:
“How is it that it only took less than 200 years for the unchristian and heinous institution that had been the norm for thousands of years to be ended by so few?”…”

Unlike you, we do not have a plaster for every seeping sore on the ‘whitened’ body of Mr. Morality.

But we would like to riposte in the most gentlemanly of style by asking a follow-up question:
So why did the same loving caring English Christians who fought relentlessly to free poor uneducated black slaves turn around and headed to Australia to steal the lands from the aborigines by way of the horse and bullet?

We would not even ask you to explain the massacre of native North Americans not through chattel slavery but through the barrel of the gun all in the name of your conquering white god and loving son Jesus.

  48. When we Erase History we will not learn from those who have gone before… Sanitation of History is by no means a Small thing to simply be ignored, it leaves coming Generations is absolute Ignorance to be manipulated to repeat the mistakes that we can learn from those who went before us.

The Left is famous for Rewriting and Erasing History. That is the Practice of Leftism not Conservatism!! The Idea of Conservatism is to Conserve, Preserve and Encourage that which is Good! Disinformation Is Poison Period! It is Shocking and Sad how people like to Erase and Rewrite History to Suit their own Narrative.

The New York Times is a Leftist organization just like (99% of the MSM.) Take a Hike you are the one and your ilk are Propelling the Divisiveness, Racism and Hatred bout hay and you do not even live here…Back to …. off and learn some Real History.

All Barbadians born on this beautiful gemstone, of Barbadian heritage have ancestors who were slaves originally; the Chisel of Oppression Carves us all from the Same Stone. Everyone in Barbados whether they think they are white or whether they think they are Black have other Races in them. If you think otherwise simply open the phone book and see the names listed of the Black Irish that most are unawares of their Heritage.

“Curiously, of all the Irish shipped out as slaves, not one is known to have returned to Ireland to tell their tales. Many, if not most, died on the ships transporting them or from overwork and abusive treatment on the plantations. The Irish that did obtain their freedom, frequently emigrated on to the American mainland, while others moved to adjoining islands. On Montserrat, seven of every 10 whites were Irish. Comparable 1678 census figures for the other Leeward Islands were: 26 per cent Irish on Antigua; 22 per cent on Nevis; and 10 per cent on St Christopher. Although 21,700 Irish slaves were purchased by Barbados planters from 1641 to 1649, there never seemed to have been more than about 8 to 10 thousand surviving at any one time.

What happened to them? Well, the pages of the telephone directories on the West Indies islands are filled with Irish names, but virtually none of these black Irish know anything about their ancestors or their history. On the other hand, many West Indies natives spoke Gaelic right up until recent years. They know they are strong survivors who descended from black white slaves, but only in the last few years have any of them taken an interest in their heritage”.

It is Important to Remember that “The Foundation For ALL Tyrannies Is The Removal Of Free Agency”.

Thank you for the link to the article “THE GROWTH OF THE COTTON INDUSTRY IN AMERICA.” It entirely disproves your allegation “that the Civil War destroyed the Empire of Cotton.” It shows conclusively that after the devastation wrought by the Civil War, cotton production in the USA has regained pre-war levels as soon as 1870.

It is so considerate of you to provide historical research which proves me right.

  50. ..you already know who the lying demons are on BU..we know their intent, they are not bright enough to get away with it, but those vulnerable blacks who work in their filthy households will bear the brunt of their misinformation and miseducation campaigns.

I remember a reparations thread that garnered over 900 comments of resistance to reparations from one small usual bunch of idiots, including the other fraud Vincent Haynes, they were so adamantly against reparations for African descendants, but once they heard about medical marijuana, they all wanted to jump in front claiming the usual thieves and minority crooks on the island should be allowed to be at the forefront of marijuana production..

…ah wonder if that is why Herbert et al are holding a drug trafficking charge today……from jumping in front to exploit the medical marijuana so that blacks on the island are once again disenfranchised…lol

the problem with that, they have already exploited the drug and gun trades for decades, what more do they want…apart from all of them being locked the hell up.
