I have been reading this administration’s “Barbados Sustainable Recovery Plan (BSRP) 2018” and found it to be very interesting.
Despite the fact the DLP’s previous economic initiatives failed to achieve the desired objectives, by introducing the document at this time, especially taking into consideration the BSRP was endorsed by the Social Partnership…….. they have provided Barbadians with an actual detailed document to peruse.
I believe the DEMS have “politically out foxed” the BLP, UPP and Solutions Barbados.
Perhaps you could post an article for “discussion.”

• Social sector reform in critical areas such as health, education, sanitation and social care.
• MEANS TESTING in accessing social services.
• Implementation of the new national energy policy to accelerate the Government’s plan to make Barbados energy independent by 2035.I have often suggested in this forum that “means testing” should be used to determine who qualifies for accessing the social services. And this was always criticized by BU’s resident DLP yard-fowl “ac,” who also mentioned it would be an expensive undertaking.
However, since her DLP administration has included “means testing in accessing social services,” in its recovery plan, it would be interesting to read “ac’s” thoughts about it at this time.

A ‘PLAN” is defined as ‘A detailed proposal for achieving an objective’.
What the civil service technocrats have produced is a list of objectives. It is not a plan because there are no details on how the objectives are going to be achieved.
Because Fumble’s Fools have never managed, planned or achieved anything in their collective lives, they are of the opinion, and have been braying loudly, that what they have been presented by their PSs is a plan.
That is not the case.
They did not have a plan in 2008 and they do not have a plan now.
Further, ‘no battle plan survives contact with the enemy’.
In business parlance that translates to ‘no business plan survives rapidly-changing economic realities’. That is why managers are required to manage businesses and economies. People who are widely informed and aware, trusted, can think clearly in the heat of pressure and can react quickly but rationally.
That last statement described no-one in Fumble’s group of Fools.
There was never any chance of economic recovery under Fumble’s Fools.

How will the actions items be funded? How will the existing model be modified? BU stayed on other blogs the so-called recovery plan was always meant to be used as a tool in the upcoming political campaign to highlight that the private sector is onboard. As always it is about political gamesmanship over national interest.

You have to go to corporate affairs and physically pull the file after paying that small amount, if course they might not have any more documentation. …. although they are supposed to file everything except for silent partners, by law.
…….it is public information and should not be hidden from the public.,, the ministers as usual are up to no good, hopefully they all go to prison….off or on the island.

Charles Herbert has stated clearly and publicly that there is no plan, only a ‘wish-list’.
Further, he has stated that no MP or Senator has been involved in the process so their knowledge is limited to non-existent, despite statements in parliament to the contrary.

I am on all fours with you on this one again.. It is lacking in outlining the possible stumbling blocks and how they intend to surmount them. The HOW section is missing. There are no projections on what the economic and political environment is likely to be.
Is there a plan to get the buy-in of the four stakeholders including the Media. Who can make or break the implementation process? The media helps to formulate public opinion . They provide the narrative.

We recall the days when Thompson and Kellman sat in Parliament as though they were enemies. Abed, Tannis and Randal Rouse cuss the DEMS as they jumped off the DLP’s ship, Sinckler and David Estwick are at “logger heads,” Donville and Kellman are “chomping at the bit” for leadership……….. while the remnants of the “Eagar 11” have not settled as yet in George Street.

The adjustments the current effectual nincompoop administration is trying to do to the economy in its 6th & 7th incarnation (without the main ingredient of the plank of confidence) of some imaginary resuscitation/recovery plan to avoid devaluation should have been done since2014 when the rut have started to set in.
Devaluation is the only undertaker in town to take the economy to a different place of reality hoping for the passing of another soul of a body in which to born again.
