โ€œSo you are into this mendicancy as wellโ€ฆโ€ฆwhy not head for the Niger delta and claim some of the land that has oil on it,that rightfully belonged to your great, great, great, greatgrandfather.
After 50 plus years of UWI and the QEH and we are at this stageโ€ฆ..tell me how all those more universities and hospitals are going to help change the ignorant mind set that we are saddled with.
Our ignorant mindset of creating African heroes where non existed,of demonising all things of a melanin poor nature and still begging them and depending on them.
What begging bowl foolishness yuo talking about?โ€

Like you, I am also of mixed heritage but my view on reparations is not one of righting the moral wrongs of the past but to seek justice (equity) for the past โ€˜deliberateโ€™ mistake made by the then British government possibly under Walpole, a man from the gentry class himself.

My position on reparations is that the same way the slave owners were compensated, so too should have been the slaves for their Church-facilitated transition from physical bondage to a continuing state of dependency on the plantation and congenital mental enslavement clearly manifesting itself in todayโ€™s behaviour of most black Barbadians.

The โ€˜physically freedโ€™ slaves were not even given 4 acres far less a Bell(e) Plantation mule.

So why not at least allow the Brits go on a guilt binge to purge themselves financially of their shameful past and pay penance for the sins of their slave owners some of whose descendants make up the modern-day money class like the same Cameron and Benedict Cumberbatch?

The Germans (and their accomplices) did it for the Jews whose recent history of genocide can never outweigh what Africans captured and sold by their own had to endure from the Atlantic Ocean sharks to lynching on the plantations in the West.

So why canโ€™t the Brits do it for Barbados and to a lesser extent Jamaica?

Why canโ€™t Barbadians themselves be prepared to ask for reparations equivalent to what the slave owners got from the British government so as to also purge themselves of the guilt complex of being the descendants of Africans (whose ancestors sold them into slavery for beads and trinkets) and sexually abusive white British males like Johnโ€™s forefathers?

Why canโ€™t reparations be demanded instead of a formal apology from both the British government and the monarchy itself?

But these reparations must NOT be given in the form of cash payments to any government under the current variety of black West Indian politicians.

We all know where that money would eventually end up.

Yes, the same place the grant funding and financial aid given to West African countries where the slaves in the West originated.

Where and when people were / are prepared to sell their own kith, if not kin, for beads, seashells and mirrors we can all look into our own mirror and see others.

Btw, a similarly justifiable case could be made for the Indigenous people of the region.

It would just be a matter of โ€˜repatriatingโ€™ the โ€˜monumentallyโ€™ disappearing wealth of Spain and Portugal and even Jewish Holland (Amsterdam).

Fair is fair Vincy, pelaus even!

My friend we will agree to disagree on this one…..no apology or money can repay the iniquity of the slave trade and the indentured programme……vi et armis of the brain variety.

So you think black Bajans- after so much psychological damage has been inflicted- should not even meekly settle for an apology on behalf of their ancestors in the name of their sweet white Jesus who suffered for them similarly to what their ancestors endured.

What would Lady Karma think of such โ€œsheepleโ€ other than ask Mother Nature to eliminate the subservient brainwashed species through an epidemic of NCDโ€™s and an outbreak of processed food poisoning?

South Africa, now the rainbow nation, had a Truth & Reconciliation opportunity to help heal bleeding racial wounds.
Whatโ€™s wrong with a Bajan version with Jesus as the redeemer before both sub-species disappear, for good?

โ€œIf there is to be reconciliation, first there must be truth.โ€

โ€œDistance from the troubled past is the product of economic and social change more than reflection or the mere passage of time, which may have little effect. To the extent that the basic circumstances of life remain unchanged, time becomes irrelevant; in fact, it may even deepen the hold of former attitudes, turning them into ancient truths. But as the foundations of social reality alter and the circumstances of daily life take on a new character, society can more easily accept hard truths and discard old controversies. It gains an ability to leave its past in the past and move into a different future.โ€

This statement has always intrigued me…… black Bajans- after so much psychological damage has been inflicted…….what was/is the damage and how does it manifest itself?

Bim is a very fascinating country to some one who entered it when their thinking was already shaped by life i.e. attending mixed gender schools with all complexions, enjoying relationships with individuals of all complexions at all levels, having christian educated parents who encouraged reading and thinking for one self who even accepted my agnosticism at an early age. Only to come to a narrow minded, classist, apartheid structured society which is what Bim was in the 50’s.

I do not fault your thinking as it was based on a different type of socialisation which informed your thinking and many others.

โ€œOnly to come to a narrow minded, classist, apartheid structured society which is what Bim was in the 50โ€™s.โ€

“Bim” is still a โ€œnarrow minded, classist, apartheid structured societyโ€ except the old white/coloured/black divisions have been replaced with the wealthy elite isolated from those in the heights/terraces who in turn have โ€˜distancedโ€™ themselves from those in the old villages aka hoods aka ghettoes.

To show you how things have not changed just look at what played out recently where a black joker going by the name of Jester Physical deficit Ince is โ€˜forcedโ€™ to apologize to a so-called Bajan white man despite stating upfront he doesnโ€™t care who is offended when he refers to the private sector as โ€œparasitesโ€.

Now who or what is more powerful? The words by spoken by an arrogant uppity two-bit bullshitter or the instructions given to the Primus inter primal idiots to make the semi-literate senator write an apologetic letter of submissive subservience to the main representative of the Bajan money class?

A man of real conviction to his principles would have stuck to his guns the same way Stinkliar is sticking his up the rear of the union leaders and the Bajan working class.

Interesting points you make,I hope you understood that religion was included in the narrow minded lot.

I will point out however that Herbert was but the head of a far darker body than him who demanded an apology/distancing itself from govt/PM and as usual cannon fodder will be used to bite the dust with a hastily scribbled letter and told to sign, one understands.

Suffice it to say that this myopia will pas in a couple of generations.

Vincent…….ya trying too hard to demonize black people and make it seems that “melanin poor” were not and are common class thieves, if they are goving back, UK, US, Germany, Holland, Belgium and France to bkack people. ..they are only giving back what they stole, they are still common class thieves and always will be….stealing and then claiming to be wealthly and saviours….and respectability does not make them any less common class thieves.

    Ya cant win that one.

There have always been African heros….just like John….you just dont want to hear about any.

You much prefer hear about the common class white thief as hero and savior of black people, makes you feel better….that myth.

The biggest problem with black bajans, black americans most of them, black Brits, most of them……black Africans, the black race……is mental laziness….their inability and refusal to flex brain power….fpr self preservation.

That is what Vincent’s “melanin poor” will always have on them….the instinct for self preservation.

It’s like a disease on the island that stagnates progress, the refusal and inability to think years and decades into the future for the greater good……for their own good.

Vincent….take a good look at the savage white animals and common class thieves you like to defend and apologize for….

“The Europeans even disrespected her humanity to the extent of displaying her brain, skeleton and sexual organs in a Paris museum until 1974.

On 29 October 1810, Saartjie โ€œSaraโ€ Baartman, a nineteen year old Khoisan woman from Cape Town to London to be exhibited for entertainment purposes. Though she was illiterate, history alleged claim .
English ship surgeon named William Dunlop who was a friend to Pieter Willem Cezar and Hendrik Cezar. Pieter Willem Cezar had bought Sara Baartman as a slave at sixteen and she worked for Pieterโ€™s brother, Hendrik. It was here that she was named Saartjie, the Dutch form of Sara. The history of colonialism was so unfair to her that she was stripped of her identity and her bodily integrity. Her story is the full representation of the evils of a hybrid of colonialism, slavery, racism and sexism. The Europeans even disrespected her humanity to the extent of displaying her brain, skeleton and sexual organs in a Paris museum until 1974. She only got a dignified burial almost two centuries after her death, in 2002.

The woman who lost everythingโ€ฆeven her name

Sara Baartman was born to a Gonaquasub group of the KhoiKhoi in 1789 at the Gamtoos River which is found in South Africaโ€™s Eastern Cape. Her first major loss was that of her mother who died when Sara was just two and her father, a cattle driver died when she reached adolescence. She got married to a Khoikhoi drummer and had a child together. The child died soon after death. With the coming of colonialism, came conflicts between the natives and the settlers. Her husband was murdered by the Dutch colonists, her first loss to a system that would take her life from her. After working for the Dutch in Cape Town, she allegedly signed the contract which would take her to London to perform. What made her special? BBC says she had what was called โ€œsteatopygiaโ€, resulting in extremely protuberant buttocks due to a build-up of fat. What she had, most women can only dream of but at this point, the Europeans were eager to gobble up anything that asserted their superiority and somehow, Baartman was used in that narrative. They used her as a confirmation of the dark skinned peopleโ€™s inferiority; their insatiable appetite for sex as shown by the size of their buttocks and their genitalia. Promoters even described her genitals as resembling the skin that hangs from a turkeyโ€™s throat.

Baartman was first displayed in Piccadilly where descriptions of her treatment reported how she was exhibited on a โ€œstage two feet high, along which she was led by her keeper and exhibited like a wild beast, being obliged to walk, stand or sit as he orderedโ€. The Guardian rightly says, โ€œThe crowd viewed her as little different from an animal.โ€ Like an animal, she was sold four years later to Paris where she was under the control of a wild animal exhibitor in a travelling circus. That she was now a part of his โ€œshow animalsโ€ leaves a bad taste in the mouth. It is in Paris that Napoleonโ€™s surgeon, George Cuvier saw her and developed a โ€œscientific interestโ€. His idea of science was proving the superiority of the white people. In fact, he described Saraโ€™s movements as having โ€œsomething brusque and capricious about them that recalled those of a monkeyโ€. Men like Cuvier propounded the idea of a Homo Sapiens Monstrous; more ape than human, devoid of the intelligence and emotional capabilities the whites were endowed with. The Edinburgh Review in 1863 is famed for writing, โ€œThere is no vast difference between the intelligence of a Bosjesman and that of an oran-utan, and that the difference is far greater between Descartes or Homer and the Hottentot than between the stupid Hottentot and the ape.โ€ Such depiction of Africans (particularly the Khoisan) as the most developed ape but least developed human was common.

When Baartman died of what is presumed to be pneumonia, syphilis and alcoholism, George Cuvier made a plaster cast of her body before dissecting it. Her preserved brain and genitals were placed in jars and displayed at the Museum of Man in Paris. They were only removed in 1974 and she got a proper burial 187 years after her death. Her story is so emotional that when the world heard of Beyonceโ€™s plan to write and star in a movie based on Baartmanโ€™s life, there was a massive backlash. Jean Burgess, a chief from the Khoikhoi group Baartman hailed from is on record for saying Beyonce lacked โ€œthe basic human dignity to be worthy of writing Saraโ€™s story, let alone playing the partโ€. Similarly, a Kim Kardashian photo-shoot which mimicked contemporary drawings of Baartman was widely criticised. The looks of black women are a thing of politics with body-shaming and commodification forming the lens through which they are viewed. Baartman probably suffered the worst forms of subjugation and dehumanisation at the hands of Europeans. This culture of using looks to perpetuate black women oppression should come to an end. Baartmanโ€™s story should not be re-enacted in modern society two centuries after her unfortunate death.”

It is actually a bit more complex that this…

An animal breeder, in order to produce top quality stock, seeks out the very best attributes among his animals to be used as breeding stock ….and, after many generations, will develop a set of highly specialised animals whose characteristics are ofter very near to his targeted ideals.

Consider then, a situation where a set of people were – for four hundred years, controlled and bred, viet armis, for attributes of subservience, low esteem, inferiority syndrome, and worthlessness.
Consider that any sign of self assertion would have been immediately executed. …Any sign of defiance snuffed out with the vilest of terror. ….And any sign of intelligence ridiculed and put to nought.

Four hundred and eighty years down the road, it is only logical that we must expect to find a society of brass bowls resulting from this experience. Even where attempts are made to escape from the brass bowl trap, you will find that the albino-centric philosophy has been so deeply engrained into us, that even instinctively intelligent people like Miller will STILL find themselves measuring “recompense for genocidal actions” in terms of money.
The very albino-centric system of materialism that was the root cause of our four hundred years of misery, continues even now to guide our thinking and to dominate our imaginations.

The biggest problem with Blacks then, is that we have been driven SO FAR away from our natural philosophical moorings, that we are now more lost than ANYONE ELSE in this God-forsaken world of shiite. Our trying to emulate the misguided philosophies of other peoples has been as useful as an eagle trying to beat an elephant at arm wrestling.
Instead of soaring at majestic heights above the brass bowl shiite, we have been trying to succeed at the impossible …against the unmovable… to achieve the meaningless.

    Pure brass bowlery…..

If no claim is filed then no reparations will be received.

If a claim is filed then there is 50% 50% chance of winning or losing
but legal battle is consuming and someone needs to be willing to make the sacrifice and feel a calling in order to undertake the task.

Britain has a weak moral argument but idiots like Vincent are feeding their spies mindless responses to copy in court as a defence and he should learn to keep his trap shut.

As Brits say in war “Loose Lips Sink Ships”.

Whenever Britain start losing they change they rules, after industrialising slavery for their new world colonies they wanted to prevent other nations copying slavery and flourishing.

After “banning” slavery they started opium wars and colonised Africa and Asia and started apartheid and global racism. When America banned slavery they started segregation and jim crow.

There is still racism, such as wars against muslims in olden days would be called white wars against blacks and browns. Talk about muslims selling Africans into slavery is missing the fact that the slaves were muslims and slave traders were Christians and Jews.

So what is so morally wrong with Bajans and other Caribbean blacks getting a few crumbs from the Massa table? Why not see the money or its material worth not as reparations but, as the Mighty Chalk Dust puts it, their fore parents back-pay?

Didn’t their own kith and kin sold them down the Niger and Volta rivers for the white man beads, whisky and mirrors?

The challenge for blacks to overcome before any form of genuine liberation is that they must learn first to feed themselves and stop relying on other races to that. That plantation dependency syndrome still exists today.

Secondly, they must stop accepting other peopleโ€™s gods and idols as their religious icons including your BBE.

We are putting it to you, Bush Tea, that until blacks learn to stop worshipping an albino-centric god in the form of a fictitious Da Vinci painted Jesus who always loves to receive greenbacks from the same stupid brainwashed blacks they will always be over-burnt brass bowls.

After 150 years after emancipation โ€œthem white peopleโ€ still really laughing at wunna blacks given Jesus greenbacks.

If they are looking for a god to guide them why not look above to the force of Light which has given them their black skins and kinky hair in the first instance instead of a Jewish concocted vindictive megalomaniac mass murderer called Yahweh who in a fit of pure lecherous voyeurism and wickedness to outsmart his nemesis in evil created a white Adam and a black big bottom sweet p Eve.

Vincent and MoneyB can talk all the shit they want, but all the enslaver countries must be held responsible, there will be a huge accounting.

“The remarkable overlooked story of more than 2,000 African-Caribbean soldiers imprisoned in a medieval castle in the 18th century is to be told in a new exhibition by English Heritage.

It comes after more than five years of painstaking research into the men โ€“ and 99 women and children โ€“ who were transported from St Lucia in 1796 to Portchester castle, which overlooks Portsmouth harbour.

All were black soldiers and their dependants, freed from slavery by the French in 1794 and fighting for France against the British.

Among the names were Louis Delgrรจs, General Marinier and his wife Eulalie Piemont and Charlotte Pedre and her husband Jean-Louis Marin. Curator Abigail Coppins said that discovering individual identities had been astonishing.

She said: โ€œAt a time when the entire black population of Britain was roughly 10-15,000 our exhibition completely turns the tables of the views of the period.

โ€œThese were not slaves, but free men and women, fighting and in some cases dying for a cause they believed in. Research is on-going but these names and this exhibition restores a forgotten chapter of black history in Englandโ€™s story.โ€

The story of the prisoners of war is fascinating and little-known. After the French Revolution, slavery had been brought to an end on the islands of Guadeloupe, St Lucia and St Vincent and many of those families joined the fight against the British.

In 1796, Fort Charlotte, a fort on St Lucia, surrendered to the British, which meant more than 2,000 African-Caribbean soldiers and their families came into their care.

As was the convention of the time they were treated as prisoners of war to potentially be traded in exchange for British PoWs.

Guardian Today: the headlines, the analysis, the debate – sent direct to you

They were brought across the Atlantic in a convoy of ships, arriving on the Solent as winter began setting in. It would have been a complete culture shock. If the contrasting weather and diet were not bad enough, they were also bullied by European prisoners already being detained in the castle.

Coppins said there were attempts at compassion with, for example, the prison doctor insisting on the prisoners being fed more potatoes because it was the nearest he could think of to yams. At some point they were moved from the castle to two brand new prison hulks, Captivity and Vigilant, moored close by.

By the end of 1797, most of the PoWs appear to have been dispersed, with some going on to form part of a battalion of black pioneers which saw action in France, Italy and Russia. Some even ended up fighting for the British navy.

Coppins first came across the story by accident. โ€œIt was a long cold winter and Iโ€™d been repacking the archeological files from the castle and Iโ€™d had enough of Roman animal bones,โ€ she said.

She turned her attention to the Napoleonic period, when the castle was used as a detention centre for prisoners of war. โ€œWhat little I did find out stopped me in my tracks … I just hadnโ€™t realised how many different nationalities were imprisoned or interned at the castle.โ€

Sifting through archives, Coppins has managed to put names to people who have fallen through the gaps of history.

The most famous of the names she has discovered is Captain Louis Delgrรจs, who later became leader of the resistance movement in Guadeloupe, fighting the reinstatement of slavery by Napoleon.

He and his followers died in horrible circumstances in 1802. Facing defeat, he ignited his gunpowder stores knowing that they all would be killed but it would also kill many French soldiers.

Coppins said discovering the identities was an important exercise. โ€œIt is almost impossible to find images of the soldiers but by giving them names you give them their place in history and their relevance.โ€

WW you misread, it was about 555 on his people’s gangsterism which indeed kills many times more black people. It was not about total numbers murdered. Each community kills more of their own than outsiders.

  29. 555,
U nor no one can tell me what topic to discuss with others on here.

Secondly, the stated topic is a total waste of time and thought—unproductive. Who the hell would be so stupid as to pay U for something U did NOT suffer. 31. If you consider the interesting case of Louis Delgres, a mulatto who took up arms against the French in Guadeloupe you will come to some very interesting conclusions … an absolutely fascinating period of World History.

Guadeloupe could have become another Haiti in the Caribbean had he won over the French General, Richepanse and there would have been two and not one human disasters.

The French “abolished” slavery in 1794.

    Guadeloupe and Haiti “benefitted”.

But their economies were destroyed and the enormous volumes of sugar which Haiti produced disappeared overnight.

The law of supply and demand kicked in and sugar prices soared.

The French then reinstated it in 1802 as the economies of these two sugar colonies had been effectively destroyed and the profits beckoned.

Barbados benefitted because the price of sugar increased three times and for a brief moment in time sugar actually became profitable ….. in fact extremely profitable.

It was like what was happening to Cotton in the South at the time with invention of the Gin in 1793, huge profits.

France at the time “owned” Louisiana which could have benefitted France from the profits in cotton.

The only problem was the Revolutionary War, 1791 to 1802.

The Royal Navy prevented France from benefitting from the exports of sugar (Caribbean) and cotton (Louisiana) and starved it of the profits that could have been used to finance its armies.

Nelson sealed France’s fate at the Battle of the Nile, August 1st 1798 when he defeated and destroyed the French fleet that was supporting an invasion of Africa in Egypt.

There was brief lull in hostilities between 1801 and 1802 while the Treaty of Amiens was negotiated.

That is the time Napoleon sent two generals to the Caribbean to re-impose slavery and thus benefit from the profits the collapse of the Haitian economy had produced.

He could only because there was no war and more importantly, no Nelson.

Leclerc was defeated in Haiti by Yellow Fever but Richepanse won in Guadeloupe and slavery was re-imposed.

Martinique had been in English hands from 1794 and slavery remained under the British.

Hostilities were recommenced in 1802 … Napoleonic wars … and France was once more cut off from its empire in the New World.

    ….. that man Nelson!!

So …. how to finance the armies????

…. big big problem for Napoleon … but he clearly solved it as hostilities continued through to 1815 culminating at the Battle of Waterloo.

    How?????

Simple …… in 1804, he sold Louisiana to the United States of America and gave up ambitions of an American/Caribbean empire for France.

He got the cash he needed.

His biggest victories followed in Europe but in the end it was Nelson’s victories, first at the Battle of the Nile on 1st August 1798 and then Trafalgar in 1805 that would bring Napoleon to his knees.

I have often wondered if Nelson’s contribution to the destruction of the French on 1st August was not commemorated in the date chosen by the British Parliament to grant freedom to its slaves.

Emancipation Day may actually be Nelson Day!!

Probably not … but who knows!!

  32. Barbados’ output of Sugar is a pinprick … determined entirely by its minute size.

But, for one brief moment in History, it’s size was effectively trebled and it must have been awash with cash.

It is this brief moment in history that emancipation and the immense investment it entailed in educating and converting the slaves became feasible.

Those profits were ploughed back into the various British overseas dependencies.

You will see all of a sudden, whereas the Anglican Church had been routinely baptizing slaves until the 1790’s, there was a surge in baptisms.

There were at the time in excess of 80K slaves who could neither read or write and were not Christian.

Freeing all without the supporting educational infrastructure would no doubt have led to another Haiti in the Caribbean.

That’s where the 20 million Great Britain Pounds went.

Barbados actually benefitted from the debacle of Haiti and the French experience with slavery!!

Louis Delgres sacrifice was also to the benefit of Barbados.

  33. I have been through the process of Baptism and am a Confirmed Anglican.

I realise the difference in paths to Christianity between the original Quaker thinking and the Anglican way.

The Anglican way is founded on theology and dogma, the Quaker way is more intuitive,

That difference I think is the reason some people believe “blacks” were programmed by the Anglican Church.

In fact, both the Methodist and Moravian way are very similarly structured and disciplined.

The result should be the same … a Christian should be a Christian regardless.

I think however that people get taken up learning the dogma and can miss the whole reason … kind of like being unable to see the forest for the trees.

  34. If you really want to understand the immense investment in Barbados and other British Overseas Dependencies like Jamaica, Antigua, Mauritius etc etc. just look at Haiti!!

Haiti received little investment, in fact it was made to pay reparations to France!!

There was no large scale education effort to uplift their people.

The French colonies, Martinique and Guadeloupe remain Departments of France and are highly developed.

    … again … huge investments.

    Haiti received little.

Do the comparison, it doesn’t take more than a second.

In fact, just compare Martinique and Guadeloupe with Haiti.

One could easily conclude that slavery benefitted Martinique and Guadeloupe and independence killed Haiti.

The truth is probably more along the lines that Martinique and Guadeloupe were subsidized, just as Barbados, Jamaica, Antigua, Mauritius etc etc were …. and are.

…. and yet it was Spain and Portugal whose colonies received probably more than 2/3 of the African slaves.

But ….. Spain and Portugal are dead horses economically!!

Slavery did not benefit them which suggests slavery itself was uneconomic in the long run.

The short periods in which it may have made financial sense were just too short.

  35. 100 million blacks in Caribbean and USA are slave descendants and victims of legacy of slavery.

I never met a white who was superior to me and I never met a black who I could deem to be inferior because they were born black.

European justification of crimes of slavery with white supremacy do not have any grounding in truth.

Crimes include kidnapping men women and children, whippings, murder, brutality, rape, lynchings, forced labour, breeding of humans to be slaves, physical and psychological torture and more.

If UK Courts deem their crimes and mental sickness to be outside statue of limitations and their financial gain copacetic, then they can’t cry when they get lynched and people have a picnic.

There as to be an accounting…none of these enslaver countrues turn the other cheek for anything, they create wars and genocide for the smallest slight, grudge or for nothing at all, pure greed and self enriching….and prolong it into decades or hundreds of years for spite….

There will be no forgiveness of this enslaver countries by black people…there has to be an accounting…they dont get to continue a destructive murderous genocide of the black race, created by their ancestors and maliciously continued by each successive white generation for hundreds of years after, refined into more destruction of black people for decades after, currently planning more destruction for their own survival….and then get to walk away

John…..your bullshit comparision goes like this…the US, not so much, but UK definitely is famous for using brainwash education and lies to still control the minds of weakminded descendants of slaves….up to this day….something like what you keep attempting but is an abject failure at.

….the Haitians are currently being kept ignorant and in poverty by enslaver countries ALL of them, including the US, aided by their corrupt black leaders…because there are plans to rip off more of their natural resources buried under the earth in Haiti….which is key to another of their evil plans to steal wealth from black people to survive…..they are common class thieves, remember, they dont even try to stop the habit..

…they are just biding their time, but Haitians are a resilient people….what would kill bajans…strengthen Haitians, besides, most Haitians are bilingual and I have met some absolutely brilliant Haitians who emigrated to US.

It’s too early in the morning to be full of shit, if Barbados had trillion dollar natural resources….all would be stolen by enslaver countries, not even yall halfassed minority whites on the island would get anything….ya would be reminded that ya are the descendants of indentured servants not worth much of anything.

Thieves do not stop stealing, even if it is something small, they must steal it fir their survival.

Strong people are needed to negotiate any accounting and reparations for crimes committed by the current generation of whites in charge and in control of world policy….crimes which are merely a refined version of the brutal criminal acts started by their ancestors centuries ago against blacks…..the crimes can easily be linked.

People with dollar signs in their eyes are useless, that is all they think abouy.

If the people now doing the negotiations would stop thinking reparations in the form of paper money which they would find would be worth NOTHING by the time they receive it….these dudes had hundreds of years worth of practice to switch scams and thiefing methods, most black people only perfected being slave like and destructive to each other….so there is no match there…

So as I said, if the negotiators for reparations would focus less on money as repayment and on more important issues for enslaver countries to be held accountable by releasing the current controls on small and big majority black countries, make banning all enslaver countries from the African continent permanently a part of any agreement, ban them all from touching any resources in Haiti, permanently or any other Caribbean islands……

    I cannit repeat that enough.

……ban the buckingham palace parasites completely from continuing to spread their centuries old poison in majority black countries….

    that is a start.

That is more important and will always be more important than money…..fresh start, stand on your own too feet, rid yaselves of the bloodsucking centuries old parasites on your backs who are calling you beggars….while stealing all you got, despite there being very little left to steal and suck.

How ya like that one Vincent and John.

Ok…let me make it clear. ..

For reparations…..start banning whites from the major decision making and the very lives of black people…no money needed to make that happen……let’s hear them BOO at that……how could they, it will cost them nothing l.

All the enslaver countries ban and deport anyone who is a threat to them real or imagined….they are and have been a major threat to blacks for centuries…..and continuing…….

….giving aid is a trick to keep holding on and bloodsucking…ban them from the lives of blacks and ask not for a penny..

Interesting read from a UK-Bimmer…..Mr Junior Campbell.

But it is clear to me that some black Barbadians prefer to propagate a simplistic, “white people hate we” narrative because it serves their commercial, political, religious, academic, gender and other racketeering agendas.

What I am beginning to appreciate more recently too though is that some black Barbadians also spout that kind of homogenizing, reductive ‘blacks vs whites’ dogma somewhat unconsciously. That is to say, they are not entirely aware of what the things that they are saying mean.

It is a question of cognitive and affective capacity. The late Rev Andrew Hatch once made a related point during a conversation he and I had about why some Anglican, Catholic and other ‘mainstream church’ clerics continue to perpetuate ideas that they have long started to secretly question or even rejected entirely.

He said it was a question of energy. He basically said that I was able to put together the kind of historical, philosophical and theological analysis and argumentation that I offer in my book, The Bible: Beauty and Terror Reconciled, because I was a young man.

So, I agree with the point about youth making a difference. There is a biological dimension to racial and other forms of bigotry, a point borne out by the current discussion and debate here in England over the significance of the youth vote in the recent general election and in the European Union – EU Referendum that preceded it.

However, I don’t think that this is the full story.

I believe the issue of political partisanship and skulduggery is also a significant factor.

Was it Sir Lloyd Erskine Sandiford who said that ‘politics is pervasive’?

He should also have said it is peculiarly perverse and pernicious, selectively raping segments of the electorate routinely.

The tragedy is that those being raped come to think that this is a normal, acceptable state of affairs. That to expect more is illusory.

George Lamming made a related point at a regional conference a few years ago, as he criticized all the regions political parties. As reported in the Nation (I think) Lamming said “political parties sow seeds of corruption and probably do more harm than good”.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the fifth Assembly of Caribbean People conference at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Cave Hill Campus, he said that “it was the party that must be removed if Caribbean islands were to go forward in a more stable climate.”

โ€œIt is my view that the political party, as it operates, is the source of public corruption. It is the source of a waste of human capital. It is the major obstacle to any rational and serious debate about politics,โ€ he said.

So I agree with you that education is needed John A Watson. But sadly, what is being dished out by UWI right now is more often ‘indoctrination’ than education, at least where the teaching of history is concerned.

And none of you should be surprised to learn who I believe is responsible for that primarily.

One last point. I recently attended a public event featuring the Greek economist and former minister of finance Yanis Varoufakis, where he spoke about “the banality of evil” that characterized the EU bureaucrats he had to deal with as he engaged with them over a solution to Greece’s debt crisis.

Lets call it the “bananity” of evil, in the Caribbean context. This failure of imagination and creativity, a failure of energy, fundamentally, is not just a consequence of age. It is a failure of courage.

The phrase “banality of evil” was coined by Hannah Arendt, author of “Eichman In Jerusalem”, and one of the main characteristics she attributed to the Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichman, whose trial she was covering, was his crowd-following “ordinariness” or normality.

Barbados’ political culture is currently under the sway of many ordinary, cowardly “Eichman-like” negrocrat Nazis.

it would make more sense in back minds if Vincent`s whining comment was changed to…..

But it is clear to me that some black Barbadians prefer to propagate a not simplistic, but utterly truthful โ€œwhite people hate we….but love to steal everything from we, love to pretend they superior to we, love to think they know what is best for we, while enriching themselves……… because it serves their commercial, political, religious, academic, gender and other racketeering agendas.

that addition would maybe open black leaders eyes to the centuries old blighted scam against their people…..and prompt them to do something about and in so doing create a way for black people to help themselves..

Vincent is not here to see black people be autonomous, he is here to oversee the repeated cloning of the black slave society created by enslaver countries.

they are not through enslaving and stealing yet, they can see no other way to survive.

the idiot trump is one such example of racism, greed, hatred, violence and stealing everything from blacks, even credit, read Obama, they have the popularity and support of millions of like minded whites because it conforms to the racist, hateful, greedy, criminal philosophy of 80 percent of the world`s white population who view this criminality as a means to an end for their own survival, no matter who dies, is brutalized or robbed.
