2016 Crop Over Festival – One Big Party
The 2016 Crop Over Festival is quickly approaching its grand finale (Kadooment). A key ingredient that helps to make the festival is the music. There are the many genres -calypso, traditional soca, bashment soca. To support the music are the parties galore: Fyah De Wuk, Jalapeno Sunrise, Caesar’s Army Ambush BIM, Jalapeno Sunrise, Puff of Colour and several others.

Calypso / soca, Bajans on par with Trinidadians, Singing , arranging and the musicians are tops.

Bajans should really boycott this tired, ignorance.
It will clearly be a propaganda device to distract from current circumstances.
We suggest the government could offer up themselves and they corporate masters for the burning of Mr. Harding. Since they have brought hard, hard times.

Well let the culture of merriment inform the political culture at the point where you burn a man as a representation of hardship.
What use is cultural expression unless FJS and company could be made to stand in for Mr. Harding this year, for once. LOL
Surely this will deepen Crop Over as a cultural expression. LOL

The problem with Crop Over is that it is fake
Only the Catholic islands have authentic Carnival. That means Trinidad, St Lucia, Grenada, and the Leewards.
Jamaica and Barbados have fake festivals of recent invention.

@Chad one short of 100K, why are you such a curmudgeon? Perhaps we do not say goodbye to the flesh as do those in the Catholic religion, but the Crop Over festival is founded in the best traditions of our ancestors. It is not “fake” as you assert, whatever that means!
