The 50th Anniversary Letter

50thAs part of the 50th Anniversary celebration the following letter will be mailed to Barbadian households. On the face of it there is nothing wrong with the Prime Minister communicating with his people about what it should mean to attain Golden Jubilee status (50 years of Independence). The question Prime Minister why not communicate with the same vigour about other matters of public interest.  This is the reason many are disappointed and have labelled you as just another politician who has seen an opportunity to pursue political self interest.  Almost 8 years in office and how many press conferences have you held? How many Q&A briefings after Cabinet meetings?

3- PM sends a letter for Barbadians to join in 50 years of celebration amidst all that island faces. What an insult to add to peoples already bleeding injuries. This is what is important to the Prime Minister. All other matters are not the concern of Barbadians. So Piss Poor.

  • Any idiot (well perhaps AC excepted) can write a letter, have it vetted, and, after multiple reviews, come up with a reasonable document that sends a decent message.

So far, this PM has not managed a single public presentation where he has not come across as a complete jackass…
Starting when, on winning elections, he pronounced on ‘vote buying…’; peaking with having a list of CLICO policy owners; and up to his idiotic speech on the very launch of the year-long celebrations, the man has confirmed his unsuitability for ANY leadership position.

Obviously somebody advised him to stop making himself look foolish by trying to speak to the public ..and to have his staff send these letters instead…
After all, it is better to be silent and be considered a Froon, than to come in public and confirm it….

Is that the same signature as the one on the CAHILL document sent on the PM’s behalf about the agreement that ‘had not yet reached his desk’…?

Clearly we can now see what is happening… Just like with Caswell’s signature, Public servants are sending documents as they please and attaching signatures gleaned from the Driver’s License scan to authenticate these documents.

Perhaps Froon was being honest about his ignorance about CAHILL after all…

Soon we shall likely see a document from Caswell declaring his union’s support for the 50th anniversary celebrations and endorsing the “excellent work being done” by Froon and his band… duly signed…. LOL ha ha ha

    (a) ” 50th Anniversary of Independence Secretariat”
    (b) ” ?????Natural Heritage Department.” ( first word illegible)

This government found it difficult to maintain employees of Beautify Barbados, but could form ,no doubt high paying jobs, for a song and dance.

  • I also noted the “transition to real independence” and concluded that it was a veiled reference to becoming a republic. Does this mean that Errol Barrow failed to get true independence for the country?

On another note, perhaps the academics can explain whether the use of “signature moment” is more appropriate than “signal moment”. Just asking!

  • LOLL, are we serious….If in fact there is some alleged fraudulent cut & paste taking place wid “Public servants … sending documents as they please and attaching signatures gleaned from the Driver’s License scan to authenticate these documents” how in the name of commonsense will we be able to glean that the sig. is fraudulent if the damn thing was originally AUTHENTIC????

Does the PM or other people sign docs which they know are in the public domain differently than those more securely held….I think not!

Many smart people use various tactics (like that basic one) to try keep their signature ‘safe’ but how widespread is that and how effective are the tactics really if a scammer is truly skilled ?

So do we perceive that a PM whose sig, is all over the place, can really forestall that level of basic fraud!

Obviously there are other checks and balances (level 1, 2 and forensic as the experts say) to be able to determine if documents are valid but in this modern electronic era where ‘everyone can be a CIA document spook’ comparing on face value a possible stolen signature is NOT one of them.

    Just saying.

    @ David

Although this article is not about “Barbados moving to a Republic,” your above comments caused me to remember certain comments General Secretary of the DLP, George Pilgrim made relative to the 50th anniversary celebrations and republic status.

According to the Monday, March 23, 2015 edition of the “The Guardian,”:

“Freundel Stuart, the prime minister, tells colleagues that island nation will have its OWN HEAD OF STATE by 50TH ANNIVERSARY of INDEPENDENCE in 2016.”

“GEORGE PILGRIM, GENERAL SECRETARY of the DLP, CONFIRMED the DEVELOPMENT and said the CHANGE was EXPECTED to COINCIDE with the 50th anniversary of Barbados’s independence in 2016.”

Pilgrim further mentioned that a draft bill proposing the Queen’s removal will be voted on by Parliament.

“We don’t expect any opposition coming from the opposition party.” “This will move the country through to the next major step in the process of nationhood,” he added.

David, why would George Pilgrim reveal this information (as reported in the international press) if the DLP was not planning to move Barbados to republic status in November 2016?

It makes sense……. Barrow is REMEMBERED for moving Barbados to INDEPENDENCE in 1966. Therefore, 50 years later, Stuart wants to be REMEMBERED as the PM who moved Barbados to REPUBLIC STATUS.

It is interesting to note that the yearlong celebrations can be described as a “DLP thing” and not a national event, since the organizing committee is predominately DLP and does not include members from the civil society or the Opposition.

Prodigal, Barbadians are only getting what they deserved. They elected this DLP administration will full knowledge of what they did and what they were capable of. Nothing but to lie to and deceive the innocent and naive people.

You were one of a very few who saw through the whole Fumble & Co scam but where did it get you for outing the liars and crooks other than being branded a prophet of doom and gloom?

How could Bajans reelect a government headed by a man who made it clearly known he is an intimate friend and admirer of Leroy Greenverbs Parris?

It’s a pity the innocent fools have to pay for the wicked guilty.
But I am aware you are a person who holds strong to the view as expressed in your book of guidance that whatever a man sows so shall he reap. In other words karma is a bitch that bites the wicked in their tail.

Fumble the liar has achieved his lifelong ambition of being someone of ignoble importance. It’s time for his exit. Liars and deceivers end up only one place. In a reincarnated web of spinning top in hell:

    “All the world’s a stage,
    And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages. At first, the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse’s arms.
Then the whining schoolboy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress’ eyebrow. Then a soldier,
Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honor, sudden and quick in quarrel,
    Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon’s mouth. And then the justice,
In fair round belly with good capon lined,
With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,
    Full of wise saws and modern instances;
And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slippered pantaloon,
    With spectacles on nose and pouch on side;
His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank, and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion,
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.”

During his last budget presentation, Sinckler announced that EFFECTIVE January 2016, the VAT threshold would be increased from $80,000 to $200,000 per annum. As at today, Wednesday, February 24, 2016, the government has not taken the necessary legislation to parliament to be DEBATED and RATIFIED. “Minister Kellman’s quick and arrogant dismissal of the recent Poll results, tells us what Kellman and his government think of Barbadians.”

If you were to read Kellman’s comments relative to National Housing Corporation’s debt of over half billion dollars, you would also give you another idea what he thinks about Barbadians.

In the Sunday, February 14, 2016 edition of the Sunday Sun, the minister is reported as having said: “You DO NOT have the BANK FACILITIES. You do not have the LOAN FACTOR [nor] SUBSIDIES coming from Government but yet the projects are being completed. They might not be completed at the pace that people would expect but it is one thing to think anything from a theoretical point of view but I have to be very practical,” he said, noting that progress was ATTRIBUTED to more EFFICIENT MANAGEMENT.

The new report went on to state that Kellman said the DEBT WAS NOT CREATED by the CURRENT BOARD.

Kellman says he is an accountant, but even a 17 year old who has done CXC basic accounting would know that, if the NHC gave away units free of cost, thereby reducing income by significant amounts, and in the absence of bank facilities, loans or subsidies, the corporation would OWE suppliers for materials if it completed the projects or OWE third party contractors for constructing the projects. In other words, under both circumstances, the NHC completed these projects “on credit.”

Mr. Kellman should tell Barbadians how was the over $40 million the NHC received in monthly advances WITHOUT PARLIAMENTARY APPROVAL, was disbursed.

He should also account for the $87,945,336.13, which, according to items 2.40 and 2.41 on page 26 of the Auditor General’s Report 2014:

“There were a number of advances for the financial year for which THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE that they were made from any capital appropriation.”

“There was no EVIDENCE that these ADVANCES were VOTED by Parliament. It should also be noted that these entities are wholly owned by the Crown and HAVE LITTLE OR NO MEANS OF GENERATING INCOME TO REPAY THESE ADVANCES.”

Is this what you call efficient management, Mr. Kellman?

  • Wunnah see wuh I tell wunnuh? The ac consortium is nuff, nuff idiots, hear.

If BU’s CAHILL INFORMATION is FRAUDULENT, then “those who might have ACCESS and PARTICIPATED in such FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY” would not have ANY REASON to FEAR David being a “snitch” and suggest that “he can no longer trusted.”

As such, common sense would suggest that if the “participants” believe David is indeed a snitch and can no longer be trusted, it obviously means the information they gave him HAS to be AUTHENTIC, and they may be experiencing some anxiety because he RIGHTFULLY exposed the documents for Barbadians to read.

Additionally, no one from this DLP administration (well….. except the ACs) has gone to the media or any other forum to refute CAHILL allegations or presented any proof to substantiate that the CAHILL documents are fraudulent.

HENCE, UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES, WE CAN CONCLUDE THAT ALL INFORMATION PRESENTED TO BU PERTAINING TO CAHILL IS AUTHENTIC.

Because all the proof of the scam published by BU is correct and true.
Face it AC/ac you’re handlers have misrepresented everything related to this Cahill monstrosity and you the mouthpieces of the lame duck ministers have been duped also.

  • And the same dismissive Minister of Housing is about to purchase land in the Church Village area to establish yet another White Elephant, like those at the Grotto, Coverley etc etc. I would advise the squatters in the Belle and elsewhere to move onto the lands at Church Village as soon as Kellman purchases it. A precedent has already been set pertaining to squatting in Church Village. Leroy Parris has some $5Million of poor Bajans money squatting in the vaults of the Central Bank.
Who owns the land around Church Village which is being offered to Kellman? Indian, Dlp-ite or Bizzy?

Since Leroy Parris has finally been seen by the high court as using fraudulent means to steal policyholders money and bank it in various commercial banks and the central bank…..will the DPP and police now get an arrest warrant for that thief and arrest him for theft and fraud, they can only file so many appeal documents, until the court says….no more, give the Clico judicial managers the money for the policyholders and lock Parris the hell up.

  • I want to be fair to Senator Watson. Barbados Today is well known for taking a comment and completely turning it around to mean something else. I think they must have after-hours sessions when they take turns to find a twist. I would never make a statement of any kind to that publication, and even though Senator Watson was a little naïve in his comments, I do not believe that he is “All for WTE in the form of plasma gasification for Barbados”, or words to that effect.

  • What has he looked at ???? A desktop study??? There is no other plasma gasification plant this size any where in the world that is operational NONE!!!!!!!!!
He is right about a few things 1.there isn’t enough garbage to feed the beast.
    2. The substantial maintenance will be enormously expensive as it won’t work
Clearly he hasn’t been watching AIR products Tv1 TV2 in the UK…..
Plasma gasification at this scale is totally unproven … Arewe to be the guinea pig plant for alter NRG??? Who have stepped away from Cahill.
Clearly he has no clue about the use of plasma gasification at this scale
Other key questions are. why did he look at the Cahill project ?? And what did he look at???
There is not enough info for any meaningful review to take place.

Did you also note that, along with confirming the original order for holding the $4.5 million at Scotia Bank along with the $3.3 million that DT was primarily responsible for placing in LP’s coffers in the first place, that the Judge has removed DT’s estate from consideration for returning part of the 3.3 million, at least, to CIL.

I wonder how that will go down for LP?

Will we see a future headline where LP will ask for the DT estate to pay the funds which DT might be considered to have extracted from it? After all DT will have been asked to pay that amount twice if he loses the 3.3 M along with the fees already paid to DT.

Will he willingly bear the brunt of the judgement or will there be some other accomodation made?

Is there something more in the mortar here than the LP pestle?

Did the Nation report fully and accurately the various aspects of the judgements so far?

Also, could any other party, eg. the BLP, be expected to pursue the DT estate aspect of this matter in the court of public opinion on the basis that LP did not, on his own, cause the 3.3 million to magically move from CIL to LP’s now frozen account, with some attrition on the way, that somehow might have found its way into DT’s estate coffers and now seems to have been excluded from the calculations.

I suspect that the game is now afoot.

  • I forgot to add above that it seems to me that the opposition parties now have enough ammunition on this matter to keep the Government on the defensive until whenever elections are called and thereby consign the republican talk to the dustbin, if they are so disposed.

Are we there yet…very good questions indeed, I did not bother to mention it and like you will watch the outcome, one can also get a copy of Justice Gibson’s decision to read what the Nation Newspaper nelected to say on that Thompson Estate matter, since it’s now public record.

Don’t hold your breath on oppostion leader Mia doing or saying anything to rock the Leroy Parris boat re who will pay for what, seeing as she is god mother to Thompson’s kids, at least one or two of them and Mia, Harris, Parris are all be in bed together……they will be busy dancing around the whole issue with legalities.

I do believe they are all B & DLP extremely afraid of each other and just watching to see who will unleash first…lol

    ………………………………………………………………………………………
Having Engineering qualification in Barbados does not stop some of them from talking crap. Take the engineer ,who a few weeks ago advocated the banning of all American type toilets , because of its design, with a fallible flapper valve. He was taken to task by two hands-on technically qualified Plumbing Technicians, and quite rightly so.
Over the last week we heard Ministers Kellman and Lowe, severely criticising some of the best trucks to come out of the United States, just because their Government failed to carry out its due-diligence procedure when purchasing equipment, and subsequently neglecting to properly maintain same equipment.
