Once again, we are forced to briefly focus, on Trinidad and Tobago. The question now occupying our minds is whether there is any hope for the proper governance of the twin island state. For Trinidadians to pretend that the high level of open corruption is just a “Trini ting” is to inflict serious damage on their country and rob its future generations of any hope of living in a vibrant politically progressive society. Trinidadians are sipping a diabolical cocktail of government orchestrated corruption and a crime rate that is obviously out of control, where witnesses to crimes ,are executed almost daily ,before they can testify in court.

Our concern today is focused on Mr. Anil Roberts the now former Sport Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, who has been forced to resign not only from his ministry but from parliament itself. He is the latest embarrassment to the cabinet and government of Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, who now certainly has the unenviable distinction of heading the most corrupt government in the history of Trinidad and Tobago. Her government is corruption on steroids!

We issue warning that unless the political corruption, mal governance and crime are addressed; our beloved and fun loving brothers and sisters would wake up and find that their country has deteriorated beyond repair.

Unfortunately, we cannot endorse the Opposition Peoples National Movement (PNM) because the PNM has the blood stains of corruption all over it. While we will not pre-judge Dr. Keith Rowley, its current leader, and some say prime minister in waiting, we cannot bury our heads in the sand and pretend that the PNM is not fundamentally and historically complicit in all that is wrong with Trinidad and Tobago.

However, we firmly believe that when the people vote their will must not be ignored. Indeed the religious amongst us maintain that the voice of the people is the voice of the lord. While we will not be drawn into the lord’s role in electing corrupt, visionless leaders and their self serving sidekicks and lackeys, we nevertheless respect the right of our essentially Christian region to involve their god, Allah, Jah or any other deity they consider proper and necessary for their spiritual well being.

What concerns us even more, is the spectacle of Mr. Jack Warner, Kamla’s former point man and political racketeer extraordinary being a beacon for transparent and honest government. We are convinced that the only things transparent about Jack Warner are the spectacles on his face. This recent epiphany of Jack Warner from corrupt public official to a warrior against the transgressions of Kamla and company clearly shows the depth of skullduggery in which TandT has now found itself. This more than anything else tells us that unless there is some immediate shift to proper governance, the days of our fun loving brothers and sisters are certainly numbered.

    A very concise and thought provoking dialectic.

    Anil Roberts forced to resign not just from the Cabinet but also from the parliament of Trinidad and Tobago, from the fall out for doing what was good and proper in attempting to prevent the corporate name of Trinidad and Tobago from being so abused misused by a cricket franchise that is owned by a foreign person or foreign persons who hardly know much about Trinidad and Tobago??

    Let us say that were we part of the management of the government of Barbados today, there would have been no such thing as the Barbados Tridents in the CPL.

    PDC, I have a problem with the manner in which you use the word Foreign with such a negative tone. You seem to be of this false and twisted assumption that everything foreign is bad for the Caribbean. The ignorance in this kind of thinking has obviously pervented many people in the Caribbean from discovering the error in their ways. The bigotry you expressed by some in the Caribbean, is no more different than the bigotry, you often observed in the backwards thinking Whites in America.

    Too To To Much is wrong in the Caribbean and the Niggers in office love white money and they will sell out their own people until the Madoff and standfords boys show up. They Join with the white or alike crew and make nasty deal behind the back of the people , They bring their own modern day brand of Slavery , money laundering and mixing of funds .
    Banking on the top floor of the Bank of Sir Ham and Sir Cow with TnT names that have “oo” like school , pool , scoon,fool, mansoon, lawyers shot dead and others in TNT .
    Full audits must be done and apply the laws before the crooks even got to office, ,Many rules where change to help hide the crooks , Crooks making laws is not the way things are to be , Apply the law , but no laws the crooks made .

    You’re dercy the governance in Barbados, but do you remember when a lot of Trinidadians used to come to Barbados to buy their car parts in the 1980’s because it was cheaper at the time? This may been a distant memory now, but I am quite sure a lot of Trinidadians were of the same opinion about Barbados back in the 1980’s. We could critique the way in which our governmental institutions are run in Barbados all we wish, but if we’re not providing workable alternatives to address the current state of affairs in Barbados, we’re in essence contributing to the problem. Lip-sevice that’s all it is Well Well!

    Dompey…..i am not sure what you are trying to say, but so far Kamla has fired quite a few of her corrupt ministers whether she was forced to or not, she did it, she threw out the political garbage, can you say the same for the DLP/BLP government in Barbados…that was my point.

    in the 1980s is when the fraud kick into swing , Right after Beatrice Henry wrote her Will and leave Family Lawyer with nothing for years of service . Mind you Sleepy Smith had to call Beatrice Henry Aunt and she paid him and gave him work all her Life ,This also included the Clarke Family , dealing land and law. To this day the same White Bitches here in Barbados and England still holding on the fraud to the grave, His SON in England refuse to give us copies of the paper work that We had paid for even after his father has past on about 3 years now.
    In the time of Owen , Mia , Sir crooks ass Henry Forde and most of the Fordes in Government and law are crooks. land tax Forde, lawyer Forde, rent collector Forde, Minister of a CHURCH Forde, and their blood line.
