  9. Chefette employers are no good, but what about that posh hotel chain, Mango Bay, who gets all these awards but keeps all the money for themselves and won’t give the staff a penny in service charge while the union bosses are always on the scene for lunch ajd big mout drinks. BWU stinks.

  11. No one should be surprised that people who know the truth about what these politicians/public officials/court officials like David Simmons (retired) have been doing for years, have absolutely no respect for him and dislike the man simply because he cannot be trusted, for years him and his slimy, dishonest, rotten ilk have been playing both sides against the middle, pretending to uphold law and order in Barbados while breaking them all, selling out the country to the highest bidders for their own personal gain, allowing minorities to get away with all manners of criminal acts on the island and also in Simmons’ case allowing the lawyers on the island to run amok unchecked for years committing crimes against their clients because he was unable to do anything about them, simply because he was/is the biggest criminal as Chief Justice and all the lawyers in Barbados knew/know.

David Simmons was the Member of Parliament of St Thomas at the time when the owners of Hopewell Plantation in the same St Thomas , the Coziers I believe, unfairly re-took lands that were acquired by some of his plantation workers through the Freehold Tenantry’s Act , because those locations, on a ridge had a commanding view of Bridgetown and the south of Barbados ; prime property. Lands that the developers , Coziers ,I think , could sell later at over $100 per square foot, instead of the 10 Cents per square foot that it was bought under the Tenantry Act.
David Simmons was also the lawyer representing Hopewell Plantation and the Developers ,Cozier and Co , I think.
Talk about running with the Hares and Hunting with the Hounds ? No wonder when asked what were his views of the recent death of a lawyer in T&T, a gentleman replied, ” A good bloody start!”

I am not acting under the direction of Sir David Simmons and I am not sure if he would want me to defend him in this forum. However, you just wrote a vicious lie about him. I was his personal assistant at the time. When David Simmons learnt that his constituents were being unfairly treated, he and I went house to house and spoke with the affected persons and explained their rights. We discovered that many of the persons, of whom you speak, had given up their rights in exchange for a free inferior parcel of land and had already signed on the dotted line.

Also, Sir David was trained as a barrister and he never got involved in that type of legal work. Even when I applied for a mortgage, he asked another lawyer to handle the matter for me as a favour to him.

I don’t know if you have reasons to dislike Sir David, but it is unbecoming of a colonel to manufacture untruths to seek to discredit him.

You really owe BU an apology for posting that falsehood.

That’s what happens when third hand information is passed down as coming straight from the horses mouth. My sincerest apology to all concern.
