  1. “And the Elohim said, Let ‘US’ make mankind in our image, after ‘OUR’ likeness”. Proof positive God had a wife or female deity as his partner.

    We await Zoe’s intervention before weighing in. We have the greatest respect for that biblical historian Professor Francesca Stavrakopoulou.

  2. Certainly you guys have not seriously read or understood the OT, WHICH CLEARLY POINTS OUT THAT ISRAEL OFTEN WORSHIPPED FALSE GODS. AND THAT THIS WAS PROPHESIED TO HAPPEN.

    IT WAS ALSO PROPHESIED, AND THIS PROPHESY HAS BEEN PROPHESIED THAT ISRAEL WOULD TWICE BE REMOVED FROM THEIR LAND BECAUSE OF THEIR IDOLATRY

  3. should be IT WAS ALSO PROPHESIED, AND THIS PROPHESY HAS BEEN FULFILLED THAT ISRAEL WOULD TWICE BE REMOVED FROM THEIR LAND BECAUSE OF THEIR IDOLATRY

  4. Genesis Chapter 1, verse 22 “And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.”

    Note that the Lord God said “the man has now become like one of “us”

  5. you guys quote the bible but are you not African decent? , this is what puzzles me you whine and complain about what the white man has done to you…… yet you espouse the bible instead of the religion of your heritage please be consistent with your bitching

  6. Every ancient civilization, BAR NONE, who worshiped FALSE deities, gods, all came crashing down, utter RUINATION.

    What does this historic reality confirm?

    That the ONE and ONLY true Almighty God, as He revealed Himself in His divinely Inspired Word, the Bible, IS* the only Creator of all things.

    He is a respector of NO ONE, that’s why He judged Israel, the Jews severly whenever they turned their hearts from Him, and went into rampant IDOLATRY, worshiping FALSE, demonic deities.

    Therefore, the historic facts and evidence, over the course of human existence, empirically confirm, logically and coherently that there IS* only ONE true God; all other mythological deities, are just that MYTH!

  7. Proof positive of the historic Biblical account of the Red Sea crossing, and the DESTRUCTION of Egyptian chariot wheels at the bottom of the red Sea.

    Seldom has there been such an overwhelming response to a video offered in the WND Superstore. But it’s understandable, seeing as this documentary presents stunning visual evidence of Egyptian chariot wheels at the bottom of the Red Sea – archeological finds that support the biblical account of the miraculous parting of the Red Sea described by Moses in the book of Exodus.

    Journey with Rood and an international team of scientists and explorers as they document the most exciting archaeological finds in history. You will sail the ancient “Yam Suph” (modern day “Gulf of Aqaba” aka the “Red Sea”) where hundreds of Egyptian chariots have been strewn across the sea floor. Robotic submarine cameras will lead you through an underwater battlefield where the coral-encrusted remains of Pharaoh’s army still litter the ocean floor like an ancient chariot junkyard. This will be the beginning of the greatest adventure of your life.

    You will never be the same after experiencing “The Red Sea Crossing!” The DVD offers both English and Spanish versions on one disc.

    If you’re not familiar with Rood’s amazingly insightful teachings of Hebrew roots, there’s plenty more that will “blow you away,” says WND founder Joseph Farah. Rood has earned a reputation as the “Messianic Matador,” who waves his tattered red cape in the face of the religious “bull” of his generation. His television series, “Prepare for A Rood Awakening from Israel,” has been heralded as the most energetic exposition of scriptural truth to come out of Israel in over a millennium.

  8. Almighty God, at His appointed time, is allowing archeological finds at this TIME in our history, to confirm amazing FACTS and evidence that His Word, the Bible, IS* true!

    ARCHAEOLOGISTS FIND ‘HARBINGER’ FALLEN BRICKS
    2,700-year-old Israel ruins linked to Assyrian attack, destruction
    Published: 08/28/2013 at 8:38 PM

    Bricks (Tel Aviv University)

    “The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.”
    – Isaiah 9:10

    Get Prophecy For Free

    Isaiah 9:10 is the key verse around which the bestselling Christian book in America over the last two years was written.

    It is also the key verse around which the bestselling faith movie in America over the last two years was crafted.

    And now archaeologists have found some of the 2,700-year-old ruins that the obscure verse of the Bible is about.

    “The fortifications appear to protect an artificial harbor,” Tel Aviv University’s Alexander Fantalkin, leader of the excavations at the Ashdod-Yam archaeological dig, said about the discovery. “If so, this would be a discovery of international significance, the first known harbor of this kind in our corner of the Levant.”

    The find was announced at the end of the first excavation season at Ashdod-Yam in the contemporary coastal city of Ashdod, just south of Tel Aviv. At the heart of the fortifications is a mud-brick wall measuring more than 12 feet wide in some places, and 15 feet high. The wall is covered in layers of mud and sand that stretch for hundreds of feet on either side.

    When they were built in the 8th century B.C., the crescent-shaped fortifications would have defended an inland area covering more than 17 acres.

    Such a discovery might not have meant much to American Christians before January 2012, when “The Harbinger” by Jonathan Cahn was released, or before March of that year when a followup documentary “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment” came out.

    But, since then, millions of American Christians have become familiar with the Isaiah 9:10 story, which explains how ancient Israel was initially attacked by the Assyrians as part of a limited judgment of God. But instead of repenting of their wicked ways, the Bible explains, Israel responded by putting its faith in its own ability to rebuild and rejecting repentance and rededication to God.

    That spelled the eventual end of the Northern Kingdom of Israel, as Assyria conquered the nation and scattered, killed or took captive the population.

    The premise of “The Harbinger” and “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment” is that history is repeating itself in America today – since the limited attack of 9/11 – in a profound way, even with American leaders repeating the actual words of Isaiah 9:10 in responding to the cataclysm.

    “I truly believe God is using Jonathan Cahn as a prophetic voice today – once again giving His people a chance to repent and return to Him,” said Joseph Farah, producer of “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment.” “So much has happened since September 11 that defies coincidence. And now we have this 2,700-year-old archaeological discovery in Israel as an additional reminder.”

    “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment” was inspired by Jonathan Cahn’s “The Harbinger,” a book that has been on the New York Times bestsellers list since it was released Jan. 1, 2012. “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment” has been the bestselling faith movie or TV show, according to Amazon.com for 68 weeks since April 2012.

    WND Films, which released the movie, has since produced a trilogy of shorter teachings by Jonathan Cahn – with more planned.

    “He is a respector of NO ONE, that’s why He judged Israel, the Jews severly whenever they turned their hearts from Him, and went into rampant IDOLATRY, worshiping FALSE, demonic deities.”

    Zoe, how can you be so ‘non-sequitur’ doh?
    One the one hand you argue that Jesus is God and no one can visit or live with the Father except through Him Jesus who is the Son and the Father all in one paradox of confusion.
    On the other hand you argue that the Jews are God’s chosen people and would be inheriting the kingdom of God called the Promised Land. But we all know that Jews don’t recognize Jesus as their God or even give two hoots about his Word since they do not read or adhere to the New Testament.

    So sort that one out for us. Untangle the web you are weaving to entrap your conflicted self.

  10. Miller,

    “Zoe, how can you be so ‘non-sequitur’ doh?

    “So sort that one out for us. Untangle the web you are weaving to entrap your conflicted self.”

    Nunaki, I’ve already, here on BU, answered in much detail to such questions as posed above; and will not be going into it again.

    Ya see Miller, you ARE a ‘de pseukikos anthropos’ a naturally DEAD man spiritually, and CANNOT, DOES NOT, WILL NOT grasp nor understand the things of the ‘Spirit’ of Almighty God, because there are FOOLISHNESS to such spiritually ‘unregenerate’ men.

    Oh’ Miller, secular intelligence, IS* utter nonsense, to the things and workings of Almighty God.

  11. Re Jesus who is the Son and the Father all in one paradox of confusion.
    ===============================================================
    Nowhere in the BIBLE does it say that Jesus is BOTH the Son and the Father all in one.
    Any confusion here is in your inability to understand what is clearly written.
    Re On the other hand you argue that the Jews are God’s chosen people and would be inheriting the kingdom of God called the Promised Land.
    ===============================================================
    The Scriptures teach that the Jews are God’s chosen people. This choice has nothing to do with many of the Jews lack of acknowledgment of Jesus as their God or their adherence to His Word. This is no difference to Bajans who CHOOSE THE BLP OR THE DLP despite the junk they do the people.
    The promise of God that the Jews would inherit the land of promise was indeed fulfilled when the Jews conquered the land under Joshua and remained in the land until removed by the Assyrians and the Babylonians, and later again they were dispersed by the Romans.
    Jeremiah, Isaiah and Ezekiel particularly, and nearly all of the so called minor prophets predicted a time when the Jews would be regathered into the land. This began in 1948. Scriptures also teach that at the glorious appearing of Christ, THAT IT IS AT THAT TIME THAT THE JEWS WILL REPENT AND ACCEPT JESUS AS SAVIOR AS LORD AND SAVIOR.
    It helps to read a book, and understand its contents before talking rubbish.
    It helps to study a subject before you can opine intelligently thereon.
    If you don’t accept the Bible as truth, that is your right.
    If you don’t understand the Bible, this does not mean that others who do have a conflict. It is you that is confused.

  12. Who do de voodoo. Robert , my granny was a Ross and we worshiped at the kirk of st Nicholas for hundreds of years, My take on religion in general is it is like life insurance, if there is life after death, great my prayers aren’t wasted. However if I just rot away, what have I lost a little bit of time. My problem is when some of these pin heads think I should meet my maker ahead of my time to fulfill their presumption on what they should do to be able to meet theirs.

  13. @ Zoe | September 19, 2013 at 10:16 AM |

    Zoe, the miller is indeed a confused convoluted idiot; a real “de pseukikos anthropos”.
    Why not help us see the Light and answer in a simple ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ the following questions:

    Is Jesus God?

    Can the Jews get to heaven unless they accept the same Jesus as their Lord & Saviour?

    It is possible you might have answered these questions before. But for the sake of idiots like me there is nothing wrong with repeating yourself. After all you were told that to be a true Christian you should “turn the other cheek” and ‘forgive wicked people like me 70 times 7’.

  16. JESUS CHRIST IS NOT MY GOD AND SAVIOUR. JESUS CHRIST IS NOT GOD! JESUS CHRIST WAS MADE A GOD BY MEN! CHRISTIANITY IS ONE BIG FARCE! ONLY SIMPLE MINDED PEOPLE WHO ARE AFRAID OF THINKING FOR THEMSELVES ALLOW THEMSELVES TO BE BRAINWASHED!

  17. 2 Timothy 2
    15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
    16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

  18. the concept of god was borne out of seflrighteousness and control .no other deity or deities on this earth have been able to match and keep up with this everchanging god…….a god of Warth! A god of Love! A jealous god! A god of vengenance .A god who know all and sees all.Only such confusion and contradictions could have been conceived in the heart of man in the creation of god.

  19. 1 Timothy 1
    1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;
    2 Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
    3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
    4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
    15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
    1 Timothy 2
    3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
    4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
    5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
    6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
    1 Timothy3
    16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
    1 Timothy 4
    4 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
    2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

    10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

    1 Timothy 6
    3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
    4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
    5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
    2 Timothy 1
    2 To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
    10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
    2 Timothy 2
    10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
    2 Timothy 3
    15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
    2 Timothy 4
    4 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
    2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
    3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
    4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
    5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

    Titus 1
    4 To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
    Titus 2
    11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
    12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
    13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
    14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
    4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
    Titus 3
    5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
    6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
    7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

  20. Of course the Jews worship idols, read the Book of Jeremiah, & you will understand why GOD destroyed them, and scattered them throughout the other nations. That is why Jesus had to come into the world to draw all persons unto HIMSELF, including JEWS.

    “ONLY SIMPLE MINDED PEOPLE WHO ARE AFRAID OF THINKING FOR THEMSELVES ALLOW THEMSELVES TO BE BRAINWASHED!”

    You see now why white people would laugh at stupid black people with their talk of REPARATIONS for being kept in slavery?
    All the English have to do is quote the King James version of the book called the Word of God to justify the institution of slavery. If the Bible is truly the word of God as these black people believe then they should accept their lot- both past and present- and see it as their duty and decision of their Sweet God Jesus who instructed as follows:-

    “However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way”. (Leviticus 25:44-46).

    “Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ.” (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)

    “Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (1 Timothy 6:1-2)

    We wonder if Georgie Porgie would still insist we have failed to understand the bible and those slaves referred to were not really slaves but “house servants”.

  22. We wonder if Georgie Porgie would still insist we have failed to understand the bible and those slaves referred to were not really slaves but “house servants”.
    YES YOU HAVE FAILED TO UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE
    YOU HAVE TAKEN TEXTS OUT OF THEIR CONTEXT

    YOU HAVE FAILED TO STUDY AND THEREFORE CANNOT RIGHTLY DIVIDE THE WORD OF TRUTH

  23. Hmmm…..the Bibical zombies like GP and Zoe are pathetic. Keep your ideology to yourselves. The Negro is doomed as long as he or she believes the religion and Bible his slave masters gave to him. For over 300 years they are waiting for the coming of their God man Jesus and still waiting. Some idiots like GP, Zoe and Bushie waiting for the end of time to come when their sweet Jesus God man arrives from the skies .

  24. And Miller

    Don’t forget Philemon.

    Island Gal

    Right on.

    Quoting Biblical texts is merely pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps. It proves nothing except that someone said it.

  25. Lawson

    Yes. Religion as fear (of hell) and greed (for Heaven). Nonsense. That is NOT religion. How can it be? As for death, yes you are right I think. We “rage against the dying of the light” and then shoot into the sun – and that’s it. Yeah. At least that will do for now. In the meanwhile we live in our sense of consciousness and religiousness burgeons as the fragrance of a rose.

    Zoe

    Miller has more ‘spirituality’ than you will ever know in your phony kingdom and your parroted words.

  26. Quoting Biblical texts is merely pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps. It proves nothing except that someone said it.
    WHAT ABOUT ALL THE POETRY AND STUFF WE LEARNED AT SCHOOL
    WHAT DOES QUOTING THAT DO?
    QUOTING KENNEDY OR CHURCHILL OR ANY ONE ELSE
    WHAT DOES THAT DO

  27. GP

    The quotation types you mention are not usually recited to assert the truth value of the quotation though they may amount to guidance or ‘rules’ of prudence. An Oscar Wilde quote, for example, is there for its wit and because obliquely it has something to say about life and the sort of people we are . Similarly, Churchill’s “We shall fight them on the beaches…we shall never surrender” is a call to arms and fortitude.

    By contrast most Biblical quotes, at least in the way you are using them, are set up to assert the truth, the unvarnished truth, of what is asserted. As such, they are treated as universals. Your opponents would say that there is no such thing as “unvarnished truth”. There is your truth and my truth since, that is, we are not talking about the propositions of Euclidean geometry or, propositions of the kind ‘2 plus 2 make 4’. The answer will always be four despite the whine of the amateur for three or the cry of the critic for five (as they say).

  28. The chief god was Anu, then there were his sons Enki and Enlil and their wives, all gods. Anu and his wife, a god of medicine, made man in their own image. The bible is a plagiarized manuscript from the ancient Sumerians, Hindus, etc. writings, cobbled together to control and keep down the masses.

    There was no jesus christ, for christ sakes. Some say he was from Gallilee, others from Nazareth, when he was a figment of the imagination.

  29. Ishtar and Tammuz are having a delighted laugh right now! She finally rescued him from the Underworld! Good news all round and cheers to next year’s harvest!
    People attempting to prove the truth of the Bible by quoting it at you as fact is so idiotic; yes, pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps is the best description of this demented and infuriating activity thank you Robert Ross! There’s plenty of information available about pre-monotheistic religions in this part of the world, more details about these recent finds would clarify who the images are meant to be. Agree with you islandgirl re Nature and thanks for the Yanomami info have been following that story for a long time. However, if people have decided either through being forced to accept or by choosing to accept, to follow Christianity, there is no point trying to shatter their faith, I just wish they could shut up about it and get off the proselytising. The warnings! Threats of doom and gloom! Mind you, it would be amusing to watch certain people coming to grips with the Orishas…..
    Of course all religions are “scary” as it involves people trying to come to terms with the scariness of life on earth. Its dangers such as illness famine wars, earthquakes and hurricanes let alone brevity are enough to drive us all to control and propitiate the forces of Nature and thereby invent more and more complex systems to protect ourselves.
    As it happens, I was just thinking before I saw this post, about the caves at Lascaux. You had to crawl on your belly supported by your elbows through a very tight-fitting tunnel in total darkness for a long way till you reached an inner chamber which was lit by flaming torches. There you saw in the wavering torchlight images of beasts cavorting on the walls and the hunt. Handprints represented a button like that to call an elevator; you pressed your hand to the print which would then transport you into the Otherworld where you would experience insights as part of your initiation. Psychotropic drugs were possibly part of it. The analysis is extrapolation but based on the way similar sites have been used by shamanic cultures.
    Pretty scary especially for someone like me who is claustrophobic!

  30. millertheanunnaki | September 19, 2013 at 3:15 PM |

    All the English have to do is quote the King James version of the book called the Word of God to justify the institution of slavery.
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Any translation of the Bible into English prior to the 1611 translation would have described slavery which as you quite rightly state was an institution …. and had been for 1000’s of years.

    If you look at how the Bible came to be translated into English you will realize that the experience would ensure the radical changes such a translation would eventually bring to mankind.

    It was not only into English that the translation was made.

    The translations brought to the common man God’s Word in his (the common man’s) own language.

    If you follow closely what happened subsequently in history you will see that it was men and women who adhered to the Bible’s message and listened to God’s Word who brought about the abolition of the institution of which you speak.

    It took just over 200 years from the publication of that English translation for the abolition of the institution of slavery in English possessions …. but the world was receptive.

    The world followed so that today you will find the thinking which gave rise to slavery being an institution is no longer accepted.

    The history of the abolition of institution of slavery in those 200 years subsequent to the 1611 translation is for me the clearest evidence of God’s Word changing man’s heart …… on a truly massive scale.

  31. @Miller, Ross and my darling Islandgal. I have to agree (in principle) with what you have said.

    @the relgious nutters here. I believe in God and I am a Christian who practices the teachings of Christ and I believe that he is indeed the son of God. For the rest of it, that is a matter of personal conviction. I hve not been in a church, other for weddings and funerals and christenings, in decades.

    Now, God is supposed to have created man in his own image and to have provided Adam with Eve as a wife. Since God created Adam in his own image, who do you find it so hard to believe that he might also have created Eve in the image of Mrs God? After all, how many women do you know that would allow their husbands to ignore the rights of women?

    To take my argument further, in what part of the world are women seen as inferior to men – where they are stoned for adultery or for having sexual congress with men not their husbands even if it is rape and must conceal their faces and even their legs from all but their husbands? Look to the Middle East! And precisely where did the erradication (by men) of Mrs God come from?

    Then too, according to the nutters, marriage is an estate ordained of God between a single man and a woman, despite the fact that Abraham had several wives and so did everyone else at that time. And concubines!!!! As for Kings David and Solomon, well let us not even attempt to go there. But I have always found this view of the nutters to be perverse, because religion has always reflected the best interests of society – like the ban on pork because of the then lack of refridgeration and the mixture of milk/cream and fruit etc.

    Today, marriage is largely an economic necessity, as tax concessions and child allowances and housing given in some Western countries make it so that parents don’t in many cases, even have to work. Which explains who in the UK, for instance, you see all these young women trailing around pregnant and with three or four children in supermarkets. SWMBO laughed when I saw one such young woman and remarked, “Three cash crops and another one almost ready for harvest.”

    So, given their views that God has ordained one woman for one man (divorce proceedings aside) according to them in a time when men had several wives, surely they would welcome the fact that, prior to the writing of the Old Testament, God himself had one wife, Mrs God and they would uphold this fact to support their theory as to the intentions of the Creator.

    What I also find perverse is the fact that some men will (and did) have multiple wives. And I say that on a purely sexual basis. For, the man is not born who can keep up with a woman in the sexual stakes. So, I am happy with just the one – it would kill me with exhaustion to have more than one, not to mention the fact that SWMBO would also kill me for taking another. BUT, the denial of the capacity of women as being superior to the capacity for men is simply silly.

    Anyway, I am going back to work. SWMBO is quite content that there may have been a Mrs God.

  32. @Islandgal. Been away on vacation.

    You know, with the divorce rate worldwide, I think it is time the nutters altered their views on marriage at least from one man and one woman to “One man and one woman – at a time”. Makes more sense, surely.

  33. In Robert Graves’ book ‘King Jesus’ Graves has the advent of Jesus as designed to kill off the female (goddess) and the works generally of the female. In Gospel terms it makes a kind of sense.

    Oh Amused…how nice. You’re back or out or simply in again. X

  34. Amused

    Sorry…it just occurred to me that we seem to have sojourned in a certain place for roughly the same period. I returned Wednesday.

  35. RE Pat | September 19, 2013 at 7:11 PM |
    There was no jesus christ, for christ sakes. Some say he was from Gallilee, others from Nazareth, when he was a figment of the imagination.
    ====================================================
    There really is no contradiction in saying Jesus came from Nazareth and also from Gallilee since Nazareth was a town in the province of Gallilee.Its like me saying that I was born in Bridgetown instead of lower Bay Street.

    That Jesus was a historical person was attested to by the Roman historians Tacitus and Josephus

    The Roman historian and senator Tacitus referred to Christ, his execution by Pontius Pilateand the existence of early Christians in Rome in his final work, Annals (written ca. AD 116),book 15, chapter 44
    Virtually all modern scholars of antiquity agree that Jesus existed,[1][2][3][4] while expressing a wide spectrum of opinions on how accurately the views of the historical Jesus are reflected in the picture presented by the early Christian movement.[5] Biblical scholars and classical historians regard theories of his non-existence as effectively refuted.[6][7][8] Scholars differ on the historicity of specific episodes described in the Biblical accounts of Jesus, and the only two events subject to “almost universal assent” are that Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist and was crucified by the order of the Roman Prefect Pontius Pilate.[9][10][11]Most scholars agree that Jesus was a Galilean Jew who was born between 7 and 2 BC and died 30–36 AD,[12][13][14] that he lived in Galilee and Judea, did not preach or study elsewhere,[15][16][17] and that he spoke Aramaic and perhaps also Hebrew and Greek.

  36. this verse in 1 Timothy 3: 16 is a perfect synopsis of the life of Christ

    And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

  37. 1 Timothy 4:10 is particularly remarkable as it agrees with the scoffers who say that Christ is not their savior. I love this verse!

    10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

    HE IS THE POTENTIAL SAVIOR OF ALL MEN I.e HIS DEATH WAS SUFFIENT FOR ALL
    BUT ONLY EFFICIENT FOR THOSE WHO BELIEVE.

    He died for all whether you like it or not! What potential!
    But his gift is SPECIALLY FOR THOSE WHO GRASP IT AND BELIEVE.
    Its like the sun . It shines everyday and therefore has the potential to help you convert certain precursors to vitamin D in the skin…it shines for all men but specially for those who go outside. In some countries folk are vitamin D deficient because they spend little time in the sun as there is little sunlight. Several folk refuse to bask in the sunlight of the provision of the salvation Christ has provided. What a shame!

    I am so happy to be a nutter. I have accomplished so much as a nutter, that I shudder to think how much I might have achieved if I was not. LOL

  38. ” Several folk refuse to bask in the sunlight of the provision of the salvation Christ has provided. What a shame!”

    Shame??? Keep your hocus pocus crap GP to yourself and enjoy it! Some people have imaginary friends and hear voices and call it their God speaking to them. So are the patients at Jenkins!

  42. Where is HEAVEN

    Here’s The One True Way To Heaven..By POPE francis1
    People ask me all the time about the Christian path to heaven. How can we get there? What acts must we perform? Some think the answers are unknowable. Others believe the divine kingdom may not exist at all. But let me assure you, heaven is a very real place. I’ve been there plenty of times, and it always starts with me getting into a van with a bag of mescaline and just flooring it out west into the desert sunset.
    That’s your straight shot into the city of Our Heavenly Father right there. No question about it.
    The colors you see. The truths you learn. It changes you, man. But the changes are all for the better. You see past all the bullshit society has imposed on you—all its illusions. You realize there’s this whole cosmic dance going on behind the scenes, something perceivable only by opening your mind’s eye. And if that isn’t the holy place where the faithful behold the face of God, well, I don’t know what is.
    There are loads of jumping-off points for heaven: Yucca Valley. The Mojave Desert. Burning Man. I’ve been to them all. Regardless of where you start, just check your emotional baggage at the door, eat a few buttons of mescalito with a good pal, and let the vibrations of the galaxy wash over you.
    You may also want to confess your sins to a priest and ensure your soul is in a state of grace with God, but that’s totally up to you.
    The road to paradise is never easy to traverse, not for the most pious of pilgrims. You have to rustle up gas money, pack a bedroll, bring plenty of water, and get recreational supplies from that asshole chemist in Mesa Alta—the one who definitely shorted you half a gram last time. Reaching that glorious abode where the blessed dwell in the company of angels takes some serious effort, and, hell, I’ll say it, a set of steel cojones the first time you try it.
    Once you get there, though, you’ll realize all that legwork was worth it. Case in point: the time I ascended to the heavenly firmament out in Joshua Tree with this really chill chick named Grace. We had gotten a recipe for some cactus tea, and brother, when it kicked in, it kicked hard. All at once, the same vision came to both of us: A leopard with the wings of an eagle appeared in a flash of blinding light, leapt in our direction, and with a single thunderous roar revealed the stitches that hold together the very fabric of this universe. In that instant of clarity, we both got this crazy idea to just strip off our clothes, set them aflame, and trek out into the forest like a couple of Adam and Eves.
    Without a doubt we reached that holy place that is open to all of mankind through the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross and the consumption of powerful hallucinogens.
    Grace and I shacked up for the next week or so. She was brilliant and beautiful, and the next night she introduced me to a part of heaven I never even knew existed. Because, Christ, you haven’t really known paradise until you’ve done angel dust, gotten into your pickup truck, and gone racing 100 mph down Route 82 with a gorgeous girl like that sucking you off. That’s your heavenly reward, my friend. Pure and simple.
    Here’s a word to the wise, though: There are angels in heaven, but there are sure as shit just as many demons. I’m talking about voices in your head, bugs crawling all over your skin, your friends turning into melting wax statues. I’ve even lost some of my best buddies to heaven—Mark, Gus, Eric. All great guys who deserved better than to go down swallowing their own tongues.
    Even a man of great faith can be terrified when he sees stuff like that.

    To make your trip to paradise a little less scary, take along some experienced friends your first time. That way, if things go south, they can dump you outside the emergency room. Also be sure to steer clear of the Nevada State Patrol. I speak from personal experience when I say those guys would rather see you in hell.

  43. I really don’t know why that pompous fool Doctor is quoting other people writings here. He should read it to himself because he is the only one who understands and believe in that nonsense. There must be a verse for nutters like him. Trying to show off to people that he can quote the Bible. GP take that book and dump it please. It will send you nearer to Jenkins!

  48. Ephesians Chapter 2

    1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

    2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

    3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

    4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

    5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

    6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

    7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

    8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

    9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

    10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

  49. Cud dear GP do u think that a mere mortal soul can discern all them chapters and verses. Even yourr bible admonis us for not beliving the things that can be seen. and pretending to belive those things that can.T be seen………..like heaven and helll……and ressurrection…….and tranfiguration…..and turning water into wine. healing a blind man…..and healing a woman with an issue of blood. for ac heavean is the inner soul that dwells within that gives one a peace that passeth all understanding

  50. yES AC YOU CAN

    MANY SIMPLE PEOPLE CAN AND HAVE

    ITS SO VERY SIMPLE…………YOU BELIEVE

    JUST LIKE WHAT THEY TAUGHT YOU IN SCHOOL AND YOU BELIEVED IT

    WELL AT LEAST I BELIEVED WHAT THEY TOLD ME IN SCHOOL

    2 COR 5: 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight:

  51. @ GP

    Hi Doc. Nice to see you still trying to knock some sense into these non-believers here on BU. However, it seems to me that you may be just bashing your head against a brick wall as far as getting them to see the light. Remember the forces of darkness turn away from and shun the light.

    But, as I said its nice to see you here. Keep the faith.

  52. But u know what GP the things that were taught to me in school those principals and teachings can be converted and applied to everyday issues. for e.g i was taught the sun rises in the east and there is evidence which can been seen. no need to decipher orwait for delivered promise to belive. BTW are you saying that heaven or a glimpse can only be ascertained through faith which is an intangible force Through which the mind perceived as being real

  53. HI hOODIE

    AC THIS THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION
    Hebrews Chapter 11

    1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
    3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

    5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

    6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

  54. On FAITH ac belives that it subjected to the POWER of Positive thinking, It is basically a philosophy that awakens and propels the mind in to rationalising that the impossibiliies are possible . Jesus did address the issue of faith . in one of his parable , liken it to a grain of mustard seed, there is nothing hocus pocus about FAith even though CHristain teaching would prefer people to bel;ive that Faith only come through the word of the holy scripture, i submit to you that there are many aethesist who have used faith in there everyday life to propel them to great heights.

  55. my point to u GP is that not all religions or religionist read or ascibed to the teachings of the bible and therfore having the belief of FaITH can be acquired through other principles of teaching
    if as the bible states Faith comes by hearing one would assume a person can be taught to have . howeverthe bible also states that acessing the tools and ingredients necessary to acquire faiith can only be received through the word of GOD which ac would disagree,
    it takes great faith for a woman to go through child labour repeatedly knowing that in a split second her live can be over and might have never even open a bible or entered a christain church or prescribed to biblical teaching, if that is not faith then what is it,

  56. ANIMALS GO THRU CHILD BIRTH WITH OUT FAITH
    CHILD BEARING IS A NATURAL THING
    IT WAS ALWAYS MEANT TO BE

    YOU EITHER BELIEVE THE BIBLE OUR YOU DONT

    IF YOU DONT THATS OK

    BUT BIBLICAL FAITH IS DEFINED IN HEBREWS 11 AND ROMANS 10

  57. YES child bearing is natural. however there are risk involved .howeverv there must be a great level of faith upon which a woman draws in order to go through the pain and thevfear of not knowing the endresult. as a womanwho have been blessed i do recall a sense of fear and worry with each child i bore. so then what else coukd it be than having a reservoir iof faith that would not inhibit my motherly instinct from wanting to have another child.

  58. THIS SHOULD BE FUN
    God is never wrong
    A king who did not believe in the goodness of God, had a slave who, in all circumstances would always say “my king, do not be
    discouraged, because everything God does is perfect. He makes no mistakes!”

    One day they went hunting and along the way a wild animal attacked the king. His slave managed to kill the animal, but could not
    prevent his majesty from losing a finger.

    Furious and without showing his gratitude for being saved, the nobleman asked “Is God good? If He was good, I would not have been attacked and lost my finger.”

    The slave replied: “My king, despite all these things, I can only tell you that God is good, and he knows why these things happened. What God does is perfect. He is never wrong!”

    Outraged by the response, the king ordered the arrest of his slave.

    Later, the King left for another hunt, this time alone. He was captured by savages who engaged in human sacrifices.

    On the altar and ready to sacrifice the nobleman, the savages discovered that their victim did not have one of his fingers. According
    to them, only a whole person with all his/her parts intact could be offered to the gods. The King without a finger was deemed an abominable sacrifice for their gods. So they released the King.

    Upon his return to the palace, the King authorized the release of his slave. He received the slave affectionately. “God was really good to me! I was almost killed by the wild men, but for lack of a single finger, I was let go! But I have a question: if God is so good, why did he allow me to put you in jail?”

    The slave answered, “my King, if I had gone with you on this hunt, I would have been sacrificed instead because I have no missing finger. Remember everything God does is perfect. He is never wrong. He made you keep me in jail so I would not be with you on the hunt.”

    Often we complain about life, and negative things that happen to us, forgetting that nothing is random and that everything has a purpose.

    Every morning, offer your day to God, don’t be in a rush.

    Ask God to inspire your thoughts, guide your actions, and ease your feelings. And do not be afraid. God is never wrong!
    You know why this message is for you? I do not know, but God knows, because He never makes mistakes…….

    What you do with this message is up to you.

    May God put in your heart the desire to send it to someone.

    God knows why He chose you to receive this message.

    Please bless someone with it.

    God is never wrong!
