Peter Wickham at the 'vanguard' of the Gay lobby in Barbados
Peter Wickham at the ‘vanguard’ of the Gay lobby in Barbados

BU has written and posted extensively about the issue of homosexuality. BUโ€™s position is well documented. We do not subscribe to the lifestyle but will defend the right of the homosexual to co-exist in our society as defined by our society. It has proved and will continue to prove not a simple matter to resolve.

In the case of Barbados the homosexual debate has become interesting on a number of fronts. It is an issue which Peter Wickham has taken to wearing on his sleeve. He uses his weekly newspaper column and the talk show on Voice of Barbados radio to bombard citizens with his view. But guess what, this is his prerogative to take. Perhaps his advocacy would take on credibility if he were to declare his hand.

It is interesting to note that leading up to the last general election Ministers Adriel Brathwaite (Attorney General) and Stephen Lashley (Family and Youth) reaffirmed governmentโ€™s position to support what BU describes as the traditional lifestyle of man and woman, and marriage, man and woman.ย  It is obvious the two ministers felt bold to make public their positions because they believe it resonates favourably with the majority of Barbadians poll or no poll. Where do we go from here if government is not inclined to endorse homosexuality as a normal way of life?

Another other issue comes from the moral relativist position where individuals leverage their right to engage in bisexual relationships. A stroll any evening through the UWI Campus, Samuel Jackman Prescod or Barbados Community College, one is confronted by many young people publicly practicing bisexual behaviour behaviour. Such a position pressures society to demarcate how we want to organize our society. Or should we go with the flow?

The final issue is the full court press by homosexuals to be allowed to participate fully in the Boy Scout movement. Sure we should not discriminate against individuals who may want to play active roles in the movement. Conversely, it is the right of the parent who feels uncomfortable sending their male offspring to a Scout gathering where homosexuals are involved to say, go to hell!

It is evident that the Christian movement in Barbadian has cowered in the face of an aggressive advocacy by the gay agenda lead by Wickham et al. If we have beliefs which are different why the hell donโ€™t we represent those views and not go with the flow? If we believe there is no logical basis to rebut the homosexual lobby let us pack it in and move on.

Finally BU poses the question to the BU theologians โ€“ Was Jesus Christ a homosexual?

  1. LOL…Bush Tea on the “usual suspects” and the “cancerous affliction” of homosexuality. Were you born a fossil or was it something you acquired in middle age? Please tell.

BAF: good to know it’s still working – we’re a little older since we last met and I did wonder.

  2. @David “Was Jesus Christ a homosexual?”

No David. Jesus Christ was not gay.

Because sex is primarily for reproduction, and since Got can make whole people outta a liitle bitty dust, why would he need any kind of sex

Secondly this sex thing is to assauge lonliness and show love.

But God already show love by making us a whole big world, fulla food and water, and gold and diamonds, and all kinda bling. And he already has 7.5 billion children.

David If you had 7.5 billion children David would you be lonely?

If you had 7.5 billion children (nuff nuff of whom real unruly) would you have time for sex life?

  3. AndDavid please remember that there is a major division between Christiany and Islam about after life sex.

Christianity: There is no marrying (sexing) or giving in marriage (sexing) in heaven.

Islam: 27 virgins for each martyr.(nuff, nuff sex)

  4. @JUST ASKING May 26, 2013 at 11:20 PM ..Homosexuals are not like us at all : They are chocolate channel diggers etc.”

Just Asking is so aggressive in his condemnation n of homosexuals, that it makes me feel that JUST ASKING is a buller…deep, deep in the closet

  5. David

I’m just beginning to wonder whether you’ve wilfully taken us dancing down a blind alley. The post refers to BU’s view that gays should co-exist in our society “as defined by our society” – which, of course, buggers up all the issues since society has determined for now that there can be no co-existence in the sense of mutual toleration and understanding. So do we stay as we are fossilized with all our bigotry, ignorance, Pharisaism and superstition?

  6. people cannot justify mankind different behaviors by the world standards or by heaping false teachers to themselves, we have to get to Jesus Christ in order for us to know the law of the Spirit in Christ Jesus and then He will give us teachers to articulate His Word soundly, Jeremiah 3:15 and I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding
People do not know their God, King James 2000 Bible
Yea, the stork in the heavens knows her appointed times; and the turtledove and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the law of the LORD.
    New International Version
For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

  7. BU is trying to bring awareness to an issue which will eat us down the road if we do nothing.

The “existing position” to which I refer is where homosexual acts even between consenting adults in private are criminalised by statute, but not enforced while we hypocritically maintain a stance of “Look, see, we are against homosexuality in keeping with the words of prehistoric flat-earthers!

    โ€˜Sex and Cultureโ€™

Oxford anthropologist J. D. Unwinโ€™s work on the rise and fall of civilizations, publish in 1934, that can easily be, perhaps the definitive work on this subject, reveal interesting facts and evidence.

Unwinโ€™s painstaking research in his study of 86 human civilizations, ranging from tiny south sea island principalities, to mighty Rome, found an underlying malady that ultimately led to the failure, of them all!

Invariably, Unwin found that when a society imposed limits on its โ€˜sexualโ€™ practices and expression, that those sexual constraints correlate directly to its theological and religious commitment, and achieved greater social development; whereas, the most primitive societies that only had rudimentary spiritual beliefs, and did not achieve such greater social development, as did those, that adopt what Unwin dubbed โ€œabsolute monogamyโ€ who proved to be the most vigorous, economically productive, artistically creative, scientifically innovative and geographically expansive societies on earth. (Brian Fitzpatrick, Copyright 2010 WorldNetdaily, p.38)

Absolute monogamy is a very strict moral code. Sex can only occur within one-man/one-woman marriage. Premarital sex and extramarital sex are not tolerated and divorce is prohibited.

Whether monotheistic or polytheistic, they believe devoutly in God or gods, and they order their society according to divine moral law.

Unwinโ€™s contemporary, British historian, Arnold Toynbee, was much more explicit about the centrality of religion in history. Toynbeeโ€™s master-piece, his 12 volume โ€œStudy of History,โ€ charted the rise and fall of 26 civilizations. In Toynbeeโ€™s view, โ€œThe course of human history consists of a series of encountersโ€ฆin which each man or women or childโ€ฆis challenged by God to make the free choice between doing Godโ€™s will and refusing to do it.

Why exactly does absolute monogamy, the Pauline moral code, bring vitality to a society? Absolute monogamy fosters cultural growth by solving what anthropologist Margaret Mead called the โ€œcentral problem of every societyโ€

-that is, to โ€œdefine appropriate roles for the men,โ€ Monogamous civilizations require men to choose either lifelong celibacy or the responsibilities of a husband: fidelity, breadwinning and fatherhood. Most men choose to marry, to their good fortune, because married men tend to be healthier, happier and more productive than bachelors.

Those committed husbands create stable marriages, which offer the greatest opportunity for raising healthy, productive children who can keep a society strong and growing.

Likewise, the great economist Joseph Schumpeter attributes the success of capitalism not to the entrepreneurโ€™s lust for money or status, but to his love of family. To Schumpeter, the central pillar of any healthy civilization is the self-sacrificing married man who doesnโ€™t spend his income of his pleasures, but prefers โ€œto work and save primarily for wife and children.

And in โ€œFamily and Civilization,โ€ Harvard historian Carle Zimmerman concludes that โ€ the creative periods in civilization have been based uponโ€ the strongest form of family, which he terms the โ€œdomesticโ€ type.

The domestic family affords a comparatively stable social structure and yet frees the individual sufficiently from family influence to perform the creative work necessary for a great civilization. (Ibid., p.39).

Homosexuality and the End of Civilization.

    WorldNetDaily โ€“ November 9, 2010

โ€œAre Americans playing around with the end of civilization?
Forget socialism and inflation; something else is already causing society to unravelโ€

โ€œFor a long time it was an article of faith among Christians, conservatives and other traditionalists: They believed that when homosexuality becomes widely accepted and even celebrated in a society, that society starts to die. But such a notion, at least according to todayโ€™s secular progressive culture, is worse than a bad joke. Itโ€™s bigoted. Itโ€™s paranoid. Itโ€™s insane. Or is it? The November issue of WNDโ€™s monthly Whistleblower magazine, titled โ€œAMERICAโ€™S GAY OBSESSION,โ€ says itโ€™s not only not bigoted, paranoid or insane, but itโ€™s absolutely historically true โ€“ and moreover, is where America is rapidly heading unless it reverses course. Hereโ€™s how one article from the issue, โ€œThe end-of-civilization questionโ€ by Brian Fitzpatrick, starts off:โ€

โ€œMost societies throughout history, even the wealthiest and mightiest, have eventually collapsed and died. Why? Why donโ€™t they just continue to evolve and flourish forever as their knowledge and technology grow? What allows some cultures to continually bloom, and others to wither?โ€

โ€œThis question โ€“ normally one of mere historical and academic concern โ€“ is increasingly relevant to millions of Americans as they behold their beloved nation struggling in the grip of unprecedented financial, political, cultural and moral conflict. Indeed, many are warning that America is not immune to the forces and influences that have caused other great empires to self-destruct. In particular, traditional-minded voices point to the rapid growth in America of homosexuality โ€“ not only its prevalence, but its virtual celebration โ€“ as eerily reminiscent of Sodom and Gomorrah, the ancient cities whose destruction due to rampant immorality is described in the Old Testament of the Bible.โ€

โ€œFrom the time of this nationโ€™s founding all the way up until the current era, mainstream Americans held the Bible to be their ultimate guidebook, and the โ€œJudeo-Christian valuesโ€ it espoused as their highest principles. Today, however โ€“ especially throughout the elite realms of academia, science, government and the news and entertainment media โ€“ the Bible no longer retains the stature and universal credibility it once did. In its place, we listen to sociologists, scientists and other researchers and โ€œexperts.โ€

โ€œBut what if the findings of โ€œexpertsโ€ โ€“ not necessarily those in thrall to irrational socialistic and atheistic philosophies, but those more in sync with the basic values that founded America and Western Civilization as a whole โ€“ lined up perfectly with those of the Bible? Such would present a powerful message โ€“ and warning โ€“ to the current generation of Americans, particularly regarding the dangers of sexual anarchy and homosexuality.โ€

    Continuing from this mornings post:

    Reasons for decline

If devotion to God, a Pauline moral code, and strong marriages and families are the keys to cultural success, then what causes civilizations to decline?

Zimmerman warns of โ€œperiods of family decay in which civilization is suffering internally from a lack of a basic belief in the forces which make it work.โ€ Unwinโ€™s explanation would be that if people lose their faith in God, they tend to lose their motivation to live by the strict moral code.

In โ€œThis Present Age,โ€ sociologist Robert Nisbet writes, โ€œWhat sociologists are prone to call social disintegration is really nothing more than a spectacle of a rising number of individuals playing fast and loose with other individuals in relationships of trust and responsibility.โ€ Moral standards begin to erode when a societyโ€™s members chafe at the disciple imposed by absolute monogamy and begin to gratify their personal impulses without regard for the consequences inflicted on others.

In other words, in an amoral, hedonistic society, you canโ€™t trust the people you need to trust, not even your spouse. Moreover, if people can make and break relationships at will, with no legal repercussions or social stigma, they are much more likely to abandon their marriages โ€“ at their childrenโ€™s expenses โ€“ when the going gets tough. Husbands with roving eyes are much more likely to trade in their wives for new models.

Thus, the founder of Harvardโ€™s sociology department, Pitirim Sorokin, warned that if individualistic selfishness and self-seeking are not checked, a society will lapse into a state of โ€œsexual anarchy.โ€ In โ€œThe American Sex Revolution,โ€ Sorokin writes that โ€œboth man and society are degradedโ€ as culture becomes โ€œsexually obsessed.โ€

The members of such a society are habituated to look at the opposite sex as mere instruments for pleasureโ€ฆto these individuals, talk of human dignity, religious and moral commandments, and rules of decency is just boshโ€ฆthe society degrades the values of womanhood and manhood, of motherhood and family, and even of love itself.

The predictable result? Divorce, desertion, and deviance become commonplace when โ€œwhat is considered morally reprehensible is now recommended as a positive value; what we once called demoralization is now styled moral progress and a new freedom.โ€ The parallel to the men Paul wrote about, who approve of others who commit heinous sins, is striking. Where as Sorokin described this condition as โ€œmoral schizophrenia.โ€ Paul said nations on this condition where on the brink of divine judgment. (Brian Fitzpatrick, Copyright 2010 WorldNetDaily, p. 39)

The discourse from Romans, which any person with a modicum of commonsense re language, ( NOT Obama) though he claims to be a Christian, has openly stated that here in Romans, which DEALS specifically, HOMOSEXUALS and LESBIANS; IS AMBIGUOUS, OBSCURE, unclear, uncertain, really OBAMA, you FRAUD, โ€œโ€ฆ.the same WAY MEN also abandoned NATURAL relations with women, were INFLAMEDโ€ฆ.committed shameful ACTS with OTHER MENโ€ฆโ€

NO Government, who PLAYS with so-called political โ€˜expediencyโ€™ social, or otherwise, re what Almighty God CALLS an โ€˜Abominationโ€™ Homosexualism and Lesbianism, will be EXEMPT from His Warth and ultimate Judgement, one way or the other, be WARNED, it IS* coming SOON!

Think on this: โ€œDo not lie with a man as one lies with a woman: That is detestable.โ€โ€ฆโ€Because of this, God gave them over to SHAMEFUL LUST(Homesexuality). Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations(Heterosexual) for unnatural ones(Lesbianism). In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women (Heterosexual)and were inflamed with lust for one another(Lesbianism). Men committed SHAMEFUL ACTS with other men,(Homosexual) and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a DEPRAVED MIND, so that they do what ought NOT TO BE DONE. โ€ฆ Although they know Godโ€™s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.โ€

โ€ฆ โ€œTherefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus โ€ฆ who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.โ€ (Leviticus 18:23: Romans 1:36-32; 8:1, 4)

No need for all that long talk and tainted research….

There are unassailable spiritual LAWS in place, and there are unavoidable consequences for breaching these laws.
Just like there are natural PHYSICAL laws in place with known consequences for breaching them.

If you maintain an unsanitary environment, you can always tell by inevitable signs of increased disease and illness. If ignored, death follows on a large scale. …HOWEVER…
If the logical assessment is made, and the environment cleaned up, recovery takes place – sometimes completely.

SIMILARLY, when spiritual laws are broken, spiritual defects, usually affecting the mind, spirit, and mood, become prevalent. If we ignore these signs, we go on to suffer the decline of the social structures of civilization. “Spiritual defects” include such things as depression, drug addiction, unnatural attractions, spiteful and hateful criminal violence and irrationality (what Bushie refers to as brass bowl behavior).

If we recognize these signs and CHANGE our spiritual environment then there WILL BE social recovery, however if we ignore these signs – or worse accept this situation as “normal and acceptable” then the process naturally moves on to social destruction.

Wuh any idiot can see that this is where we are all headed…..but it takes a bit of wisdom to understand WHY…..

“God created man after his own image….”

When BBE designed this existence of ours, the physical was made to reflect almost EXACTLY what holds for the spiritual realm. It is all right there before our eyes…..if we only had eyes to see… ๐Ÿ™‚

I have said it here already that the widespread acceptance of homosexuality is the beginning of the end of civilization. Those who support homosexuality can defend their position with all kinds of fanciful arguments that may be valid and logical but yet immoral. Homosexuality and the concomitant rise of women to positions of power in societies represent the perfect recipe for decay and decline. In the midst of the chaos and confusion and the upside/downside up position of the world as it stands , I exhort you to take heed to these words: ‘ Man know thyself ‘

  18. Gabriel Tackle,

It seems Drexel Gomez is taken more seriously in the Caribbean than he is in his native Bahamas. To me he is a comical spectre of an African man dressed in a medieval European outfit, quoting an early modern English translation of an ancient middle eastern collection of myths and fairy tales.

No, it was not desperation that led us in the Bahamas to remove criminalisation of homosexual sex. We are in fact the least desperate people in the region, as you must know, which is why we do not migrate from our country. It was rather exposure and common sense. Just the kind of thing that makes the opinions of the likes of Drexel Gomez so irrelevant.

Bahama……………….most black people still do not want to believe the translation of lies, myths, exploitation and degradation that is in the form of the bible, what you said would not register in their consciousness, not in this century anyway and particularly not in Barbados. Our black males are the worst culprits making it even harder for the race to move forward, the mindless slavishness they display to the scripture of lies is more than race damaging. They can quote you the bible scripture and verse, without understanding one iota of what they quoted verbatim.

  20. David,

Why do so many discussions about homosexuality have begin with a self-exclusion clause, like yours claiming not to “subscribe” to the lifestyle? It calls to mind liberal whites who were nonetheless fearful of being called “nigger lovers” by racists in the US south. So they had to begin with a disclaimer like “I am not saying blacks are equal to whites, but……..”

It really is sad and pathetic and seems like deep intellectual cowardice in the face of ignorant Christian mobs.

Either you agree that society COMPLETELY stops intruding in the matter of who someone chooses to sleep with (both in terms of making it illegal, and sanctioning stupid, idiotic religious people enforcing their stigma against it) or you do not. Make up your mind, so that those of us on the side of reason know how to categorise you.

Another example of the observation that a prophet is not without honour save in his own country.Drexel is not only a thorn in the side of sexual deviants but of the political directorate in the Bahamas and as witnessed some years ago in Barbados.
The white Bay Street boys of old set up the Bahamas economically and the proximity of the island chain to the US has made it a shoo in for casino gamblers and hidden wealth. With that came the debauchery, drugs and sexual deviance for which you are notorious. In all this however, the message still is that homosexuality is an aberration. It’s unnatural and it’s disgusting .Why is it that in every homosexual relationship, one assumes the role of the male and the other the female.I repeat it’s an aberration. It’s sickening and dross.

    Children โ€“ the real victims!

The immediate victims of sexual anarchy, of course, are children.

Barbara Dafoe Whitehead writes: โ€œAfter decades of so-called family diversity, the evidence from social-science research coming in: The dissolution of two-parent families, though it may benefit the adults involved, is harmful to many children, and dramatically undermines our society

What exactly happens when we take fathers out of the family picture? The National Fatherhood Initiative tells the sorry tale: โ€œChildren who live absent their biological fathers are, on average, at least two to three times more likely tom be poor, to use drugs, to experience educational, health, emotional and behavioral problems, to be victims of child abuse, and to engage in criminal behavior than their peers, who live with their married biological ( or adoptive) parents. (Whistleblower, November 2010, p.40).

How long does it take for CULTURAL disintegration to set in?

Unwin observed that civilizations cease to grow within three generations after retreating from absolute monogamy. If they fail to return to monogamy, they will continue to slide into individualism and hedonism, and civial disorder will ensue.

Likewise, in his โ€œSocial and Cultural Dynamics,โ€ Sorokin who studied 1,623 โ€œinternal disturbances in Greco-Roman and European history,โ€ found that sexual permissiveness almost always precedes or accompanies โ€˜an explosion of sociopolitical disturbances.

Such selfish, undisciplined societies meet ugly fates. Unwin found that every society, without exception, that rejects absolute monogamy either becomes a stagnant backwater or collapses altogether.

Toynbee famously wrote, โ€œCivilizations die by suicide, NOT by murder.โ€ And Sorokin warned that America, in the 1960s was committing national suicide by sexual indulgence, predicting that as sex outside of marriage became more commonplace, Americansโ€™ birthrate would decline even as illegitimacy increased.

Unwin might agree with Toynbee that some civilizations die by suicide, but he would also point out that many civilizations do indeed die by murder. Civilizations that have turned permanently from absolute monogamy have often been conquered and absorbed by more vigorous civilizations, he documents. For example, after the first great Western civilization, Grece, was conquered by Rome in the second B. C.

After all, writes Anne Glyn-Jones in โ€œholding Up a Mirror: How Civilizations Declineโ€: They were, in Roman eyes, an effete and effeminate people who deserved nothing better.

Where then does homosexuality fit into cultural decline? Is it just a rightwing โ€œold wivesโ€ taleโ€™ that an increase in homosexuality signals the decline of a civilaztion โ€“ or is it actually true?

Will Durant, author of the 11 volume series โ€œThe Storyt of Civilization,โ€ observed that homosexual behavior becomes prevalent as socities go into decline. Unwin noted that โ€œthe historical evidence [suggest] that homosexuality is a habit that appears in a societyโ€ฆthat has been absolutely monogamous, and is relaxing.โ€ And Zimmerman wrote that โ€œHomosexuality is always present in society, but in trustee and domestic family types it is strongly repressed. In late atomistic family systems it becomes much the fashionโ€ฆโ€

If Durant, Unwin and Zimmerman are correct, the increasing prominence of homosexual behavior and its radical legitimization โ€“ almost to the point of veneration โ€“ in American society confirms omninously that the nation has strayed too far from the โ€œstraight and narrowโ€ moral path that invigorates civilizations.

America currently is choosing whether, and how much, ti embrace and normalize homosexuality. Before deciding to bring homosexuality even further into its cultue, Americans should take careful note at the homosexual political and cultural agenda in light of Unwinโ€™s and othersโ€™ revelations. (Ibid, p. 40).

  26. Gabriel Tackle,

You clearly take more of an interest in the sexual roles and practices of homosexual males than I do. I consider it neither interesting nor relevant what gender roles are assumed in various relationships. I will observe, however, that sex is a complex thing and heterosexual couples have been known to indulge in the odd act of roleplay etc. It neither titillates me to engage in discussion/speculation here, nor does it provoke me to condemn it as an aberration.

To me ignorance, of the kind you display, is the worst of all aberrations, precisely because it is so infectious around people who are even less informed and thoughtful. As to your shallow foray into Bahamian history and the half-baked conclusions you invite us to draw from it, I can only observe that it is in line with the kind of thinking that idiots like Drexel Gomez promote: that the world was made in seven days by a giant fairy in the sky.

    Radical and Subversive Agenda.

On its website, the Human Rights Campaign claims to be โ€œthe largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans.โ€ Their official narrative is that homosexuals are an oppressed, victimized minority group and that activists are merely working to secure civil rights and social โ€œequalityโ€ โ€“ hence the adoption of the โ€œ=โ€ sign as their symbol. But civil equality is only part of the agenda. Homosexual activists are also enacting a radical socio-cultural agenda that would shock Unwin and other classic historians and social researchers.

As homosexual activists have grown more sophisticated in recent years, they have stopped placing some of their more objectionable demands before the public. For example, the North American Man-Boy Love Association is no longer welcome at most โ€œgay prideโ€ parades, as it once was. ( Authorโ€™s note: That dosenโ€™t necessarily mean โ€œgay rightsโ€ activists have rejected pedophilia, or even NAMBLA. At the 2008 National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association Convention, I saw a man proudly sporting a NAMBLA tee-shirt at the mixer on the first evening of the event. Organizers failed to kick the man out and noboy seemed to notice that anything was wrong.)

Since their long-term activist agenda was more plainly expressed in platforms puvlished in years past, here are selected planks of homosexual rights platformds published in 1972, 1987, and 1993, focusing on positions relating to the three pillars of a healthy and growing civilization identified by Unwin: 1) strong marriages and families, 2) striong sexual restrictions, and 3) religion.

    Marriage and family

    * We demand legislation to prevent discrimination against Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgendered people in the areas of family diversity, custody, adoption and foster care and that the definition of family includes the full diversity of all family structures.

    * Repeal all legislative provisions that restrict the sex or number of persons entering into a marriage unit.

    * Unrestricted, safe and affordable alternative insemination.

Homosexual activists would radically redefine the family to embrace virtually ANY combination of people imaginable, from threesomes and foursomes to families with no identifiable father and families without a mother. In effect, the word โ€œfamilyโ€ would become meaningless. Are these the types of aggregations likely to produce children who can keep a society growing?

    * Anti-homophobic curriculum in the schools.

    * And end to discrimination based on sexual orientation in all programs of
    the Boy Scouts.

Activists would coerce educators into promoting a gay-friendly curriculum in schools, a goal that have already achieved in many parts of the country. they would also force private institutions like the Boy Scouts to go along with the program so children would not be taught that homosexuals behavior is wrong.

Many commentators have suggested that allowing homosexuals to marry each other would encourage them to turn away from promiscuity for which their subculture is infamous. But adapting the homosexual lifestyle to monogamous marriage is NOT what most have in mind; on the contrary, many wish to change marriage to suit the homosexual lifestyle. According to prominent homosexual columnist Michelangelo Signorile, โ€œgaysโ€ would seek instead to make adultery acceptable by redefining the โ€œarchaic institutionโ€ of marriage.

In the end, the word โ€œmarriageโ€ would become meaningless as well, just as other countries have already discovered that making marriage available to homosexual couples undermines the institution of marriage for all people.

โ€œScandinavian gay marriage has driven home the message that marriage itself is outdated,โ€ says anthropologist Stanley Kurtz, โ€ and that virtually any family form, including out-of wedlock parenthood, is acceptable. Kurtz notes that after 10 years of legalized same-sex marriage in Scandinavia, โ€œmarriage parenthood has become a minority phenomenon.โ€ He also reports that growing numbers of heterosexual couples are having families without bothering to tie the knot, and thar the number of children being raised in fatherless homes is climbing quickly because the rate of breakup of unmarried couples is two to thee times the rate of divorce among married couples. (Ibid., p.41)

    Radical ans Subversive Agenda.

Sexual restrictions and the Pauline Moral Code

    * Repeal of all sodomy laws and other laws that criminalize private sexual expression between consenting adults.

    * Repeal all laws governing the age of consent.

The radical homosexual agenda would cast out the Pauline moral code altogether by removing all restrictions on sexual expression except rape. Incest, polygamy, fornication, adultery and sexual practices too repugnant to describe in print would become normalized socially and even protected by law.

Children would lose the protection of laws that shelter them from sexual predatory adults As long as a child โ€œconsentsโ€ to an adultโ€™s advances, the predators would have nothing to fear. (Ibid., p.41)

Natural Law is given to us from our Creator, Almighty God, as there can be no OUGHT* unless it is first grounded in an IS*!

People tend to think they own the earth and should govern it and one another. As a result, both the earth and its people are still traveling a deadly path caused by their dependence on self-rule.

Scientists and laypersons know that to succeed they must conform to natureโ€™s laws of physics. So with the plethora of wrong results occurring daily, they should welcome news of a formerly unidentified natural law defining mankindโ€™s right behavior.

Decades ago Richard W. Wetherill identified that law and called it natureโ€™s law of right action. It requires rational, honest behavior, and people need to know that their well being and their very lives depend on adhering to it.

Ordinarily principled people tend to be admired and respected when, in fact, it is natural-law principles that deserve admiration and respect; not people acting in accord with them.

Generally speaking, people feel free to satisfy their noble or ignoble desires and ambitions until they learn that rational, honest action is the requirement of this natural law; action lacking appeal to persons seeking acclaim. But Wetherill often said that America is the one nation where natureโ€™s law of right action could safely have been declared, discussed, and finally implemented.

Apparently irrational, dishonest behavior will continue until more people discover they are pitting their objectives against the higher power of a created natural law.

Those who do adhere to creationโ€™s law of right action are peaceful and productive members of society. They have learned that the formula for success in human endeavors is to conform to all applicable natural laws, especially natureโ€™s law of right action described in the several Natural-law Essays at our website: alphapub.com.

If you are happy to be a citizen of country that legalises man lying with man then that’s fine. Equally Barbadians don’t need a Bahamian without a moral compass, telling them what laws and society it should fashion for itself in relation to faggots.

  33. The Dummy @ Dumo

I am not sure what or where Dumo is, but the first part of your name is certainly descriptively apt.

Sounds like you and Gabriel belong in Jamaica, a place brimming with “prophets” like Drexel Gomez and apparently so blessed by their righteousness that you can hardly keep the folk from fleeing to other people’s countries.

You claim I have no “moral compass” yet presumably subscribe to a belief system that defines morality by reference to a mythological being whose word is more compelling than the individual conscience.

  34. Bahamared………….plenty men in Barbados have a lot to hide, it would not be in their best interest to be known or seen as homosexuals, what happens in the dark, well that is another matter, but these guys have a front to put up and maintain………..maybe it is better that way. What sickens me is when the ‘straight’ males attack small boys and they are not even locked up, then they go to church and sunday and espouse what good christians they are……..or when their wives come home unexpectedly and catch her ‘straight’ womanizing husband in bed with a man. Most of them are the same ones completely against gays, a case of they protest too much.

My friend you are knocking your head against two stones and a piece of wood if you would pardon the piece of pun and scathing innuendo of the Bajan ignorance and hypocritical discourse passing for intellectual debate.
Barbadians all over the Western world especially in the other Caribbean territories are known for their male homosexuality immortalised in that song about not bending down if you go down St. James in Barbados aka Bullbados.

At home, however, their continual denial and closeted cover-up is akin to the stupid Jamaican โ€˜kill-batty-manโ€™ culture. Jamaica is a country with rich cultural diversity as personified its national motto โ€œOut of many Oneโ€; but also known (unfairly so) throughout the West as a place that breeds criminals and gangsters. Now where do these criminals and gangsters end up if not in jail where homosexuality and its batty boy culture is the staple meal of the night?
Check any prison in the UK, Canada of USA and more than likely the majority of foreign criminals from the Caribbean are of Jamaican descent.

Barbados has a similar problem with its closeted Anglican past. Male homosexuals hiding behind โ€œChristianโ€ robes and denouncing openly gay people is the height of hypocrisy so strongly despised by their so-called teacher and guru Jesus. Ask one of your compatriots Drexel formerly of Barbados what is meant by the adage: โ€œHe who is without sin, cast the first stone!โ€

Black people of all people should be the very last to be on the nasty totem pole of prejudice and discrimination against other minority groups.
But what do we have in a country that has a significantly large black population that incessantly boasts of its high standard of education and social achievement and development?
A people represented by the likes of DR. The Honourable and Just Asking climbing to the very apex of that intellectually crappy pole to signal their intention to carry on from their former oppressors who โ€œhatedโ€ and abused them just because of the colour of their skin.

Itโ€™s really an most unfortunate intellectual disappointment and psychological blow when blacks can believe they were made in the same image of some God marketed by the European and who recommended slavery to be their lot but canโ€™t accept that the same viciously morally vacillating deity (one of the thousands in power at any one time through the religious precession of the ages) also created homosexuals in all races, cultures and creeds.

Here is a country Barbados whose civil administration is being directed by a person equivalent to the Bishop, speaking clerically of course. But what do we have in the open nothing but a set of closet denials about the manโ€™s orientation, lack of female company and triggers of nocturnal emissions.
Typically Bajan, indeed! Itโ€™s alright to be gay even if totally incompetent as a leader (let us put it nicely and politically correct) once you remain in the closet somewhere in dark alcoves of Ilaro Court. But dare one to openly profess to oneโ€™s sexual orientation and you might find yourself leading the charge on the Opposition benches for life.
Bajans are good copycats of most things British let them also embrace Britainโ€™s tolerance towards people with divergent sexual orientation whether it be โ€œHe, She or Transgenderโ€ and introduce laws to reflect this acceptance of lifeโ€™s reality in the same way racial discrimination especially against blacks was so outlawed.
    T
he quicker the younger generation seek to leave this myopically backward thinking place to escape the bondage of mental slavery in this 21st Century the better it would be for the intellectual gene pool of the Bajan as a brand name as a nation state and cultural entity.

My understanding of this Homo business is that it refers to two men or to two women. One is the dominant partner the other is the submissive partner whether its two males or two females. It’s not rocket science,it’s very obvious to most folk. It’s also obvious that homos do not accept criticism of their lifestyle and resort to violence when cornered by fact. They are loners and will be so as long as the majority of mankind is hetero, the state of normality.

  45. I heard Didi on radio couple weeks ago espousing the same views as bahamared. All of a sudden those who oppose BULLING are idiots and not with it. As we all know –Anus was not made for Penis ,

THEORY : The decision to become homosexual is just a serious weakness in some boys/men who feel incapable of a girl liking them so they came to the conclusion that they would have to be female and believe that if a girl did not like them, a man would like them.

Every thing is wrong with Penis in Anus. Anus was not made for Penis.
Everything is wrong with Penis in Anus and Penis in Anus should not be encouraged. This foolishness bout what people do in their bedrooms is their business is nonsense

Well KEEP IT IN THE FRIGGING BEDROOM—DONT FLAUNT YOUR BULLING ASS IN PUBLIC—DRESSING LIKE DIDI —in women’s clothing.
DIDI should be arrested and charged for wearing women’s clothing .

Other than that I find you carry in Bahamar real real scruffy though.

  47. David

The Dummy has just raised a very interesting question which you might think of exploring further – viz what it is ‘to have sex’. Think of the Pentecostal position (havng it in the dark): ‘If you have sex before marriage you go straight to hell’. Does the punishment fit the crime?

  48. @millertheanunnaki | May 27, 2013 at 6:19 PM | Far better than good comment…..it is brilliant and beautifully stated. My deepest respect.

  49. @bahamared | May 27, 2013 at 9:49 AM | I have enjoyed reading your comments and, for the majority, I agree with you. I do NOT agree with you in so far as you blame David for his disclaimer that he does not subscribe to the lifestyle and you then go on to compare it with the disclaimers of liberal whites in the US south. I happen to know few openly gay people who also do not subscribe to the lifestyle……..and by that, I do not mean the sex act, which is no one’s business but the participants.

Respectfully, I believe that it has now all become a matter of education. I remember seeing the musical South Pacific when it first showed at the Empire Theatre. I was struck by the song, “You have to be carefully taught.” Basically, you have to be carefully taught to hate the things your relatives, parents and peers hate. But, if you are NOT taught to hate them, then I have no doubt that the World would be a better place. Which is why I choose not to attend Church ever. I am a devout Christian and I am quite sure that I have no need of institutional intermediaries that, because of the authority they are given particularly in Barbados, have conferred on themselves a license to teach hate to any of the dwindling numbers of our youth that they can bring under their sway. I prefer to go straight to the source myself.

Personally, I am a monogamous married man – well, with SWMBO, the chance to be other than monogamous might be a fine thing. I am uncomfortable with overt displays of “affection” in public, regardless of the participants. And what people do in private is none of my damned business.

I also take David’s point in this blog. His disclaimer is honest and transparent and he is claiming the same rights (human rights and the right to freedom of thought and expression) as you are promoting. Moreover, he is providing you with the platform to express your opinions frankly and without fear. You must accord him the same.

My own views on this issue are already well documented here on BU. Briefly, to reiterate, I believe that the buggery laws are unjust and traditionally unenforced. Because they are unenforced is not enough – they need to go, or they could be enforced at any time if an idiot like Drexel and his colleagues in skirts, ever got any power in Barbados.

As I have often stated, buggery is not confined to homosexual acts and has often, pre-pill, be used as a means of birth control. So, if enforced, many heterosexual couples might be at risk of prosecution.

My next concern is one of economics. The buggery laws do deter gay people from visiting Barbados and spending their foreign exchange money here and there is no reason why, with the multitude of destinations to choose from, gay people should come to a place where there are anti-buggery laws and accept assurances that these will not be enforced. If they will not be enforced, they are redundant and irrelevant, BUT REMAIN A THREAT!!! So get rid of them.
