Minister of Finance at a St. James Branch meeting held on the weekend defended government’s performance in difficult times. The unveiling of several projects by government has forced many Barbadians to ask how will they be financed and how quickly will they be mobilized.

It’s not true

Untruthful and wicked!
That’s how Leader of the Opposition, Owen Arthur, today categorically dismissed Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler’s charge that the Barbados Labour Party would be sending home 10,000 public workers if it wins the general election.
In fact, the former Prime Minister and Minister of Finance told Barbados TODAY that his party was in power for 14 years and “nobody ever got sent home”.
“There’s a statement that Chris Sinckler is represented as having made at a branch meeting on Sunday to the effect that four of us, by name, met weekly at the University of the West Indies concocting a secret plan to send home 10,000 persons from the public service of Barbados. That statement clearly is a dishonest statement, an untruthful and dishonest statement…

Two private sector investors are looking to purchase the stalled Four Seasons project. (FP)
By Geralyn Edward, Business Editor | Wed, September 12, 2012 – 12:11 AM
There has been a new development in the controversial Four Seasons project.
Professor Avinash Persaud, executive chairman of Paradise Beach Limited – developers of the Four Seasons Barbados project – has confirmed to the MIDWEEK NATION that two separate outfits were in talks with Paradise Beach Limited to buy out the stalled luxury facility.
Though he declined to go into details, the Barbadian economist, who specializes in finance, investment and public policy, said: “It is inappropriate for me to comment in detail at this time, but I can confirm that we are in advanced negotiations, separately, with two private sector investors looking to purchase the Four Seasons project and bring early fruition to the hotel.
“I think it is best for these negotiations that I do not comment further until they are completed.” -
I have lost all Respect for Sinckler after the statement I saw on the TV news and I have commented on this aspect of his LIES and Propaganda in another comment on another post.He has now taken over as the BIGGEST LIAR in Barbados. Sjame on him–Shame on CBC–CBC can now shut down–it is serving no pirpose
-
Granny says that the DLP has used this strategy of telling BIG LIES just before an election and that they have done it every election since the 1961 elections.
They won the elections telling lies in 2008 and now come back with the same nonsense
BLP= 29 SEATS
DLP = 0 SEATS
INDEPENDENT = 1 SEAT -

Chris Sinckler Minister of Finance 2008-2013, rise and meteoric fall a la Freundy.
My mother again comes to mind as I seek words of adequate proportion and concepts of relative pertinence to apply to these dreams and visions that he is having with eyes wide open.
The story which she told me that comes to mind when I see and hear Chris speak, poor soul, is the Emperor’s New Clothes.
The minister of finance which I will abbreviate as MoF not to be confused with that minaj girl motherfu**er word is espousing vapid vestments which in other times bajans other than himself would have worn.
I say other than himself because many of you would have seen that his girth does not dispose him to wearing any airy garb like the emperor which makes me think that Armani is using no less than two bolts of cloth to cover his big buffalo soldier a**
As with the fairy clothing for the emperor the source of funding for these equally elvish products of his and other DLP ministers ( Doan forget George Hudson starship enterprise at the port) will be coming from Peter Pan land
Doan worry bout them this is the time when young men shall dream dreams and old men like me shall see visions and the vision I now see is 28 – 2
-
@Piece etc.
In your preemptive carving of a tombstone for Sinckler you got your facts wrong. Sinckler assumed the position as MOF shortly before the death of Thompson in 2010, he was not MOF from 2008. -
Fools go where angels fear to tread. Our MOF is the biggest lying fool I have heard in my life. There are fools and foolish people, BUT Minister Sinckler has won the crown, he is now the chief court jester.

@ Pieceuhderockyeahright | September 12, 2012 at 4:51 AM
You too sweet, rocky.
A man like you that can see what is in store for Bim can also understand why the DLP deserves to win back the government. Yes I said that damned lying party aka DLP to do the necessary dirty job as punishment. Let the people be saddled with a clown, a buffoon and a porn magnate as punishment for being fooled a second time around. “You fool us one shame on you. You fool me twice shame on us.”
It seems the people of Barbados in spite of their boastful book learning education can’t think for themselves and need to feel the pain.
How can the DLP talk about restructuring the public sector without the need to redeploy the ‘excess’ in the private sector? Donville speaks one thing while Chris the Unclear says everything would remain the same unless the BLP is returned to power.
Until Chris can bring evidence where the BLP announced the dismissal of 10,000 public sector workers he will be deemed a patent liar.It is the miller who made the claim that under any future administration the public sector both central government statutory agencies and government own corporations must shed between 8,000 to 10,000 as part of its restructuring and divestment mandate as commanded by other forces.
But OSA, it serves you right. You must convene the PAC and expose what really is going on.
Unless Banny is the fly in the ointment. -
@Miller
if the PAC is convened you might be exposed for past deeds, and your party.
-
Owen Arthur and co leader Malick with Teet have ranted for the past four years that the Barbados economy will collapse. Are they the BIGGEST LIARS?
A simple yes or no will suffice. -
@David | September 12, 2012 at 1:04 AM |
“Not holding breath, we have heard the Professor before!”Unlike the ‘BarbadosToday’ you ought not to be surprised about this new bulletin of bullshit.
Senator Chandler has the bullshitter par excellence all “sussed out” and the miller is reading from the same page from the book of truth as the Senator.
The “professor” is ‘known’ and the only thing that con would bring to the Four Seasons table is a list of invoices for consultancy services rendered amounting to millions of dollars. Mark my word!
Why are you Bajan people so easily fooled by sweet sounding people (aka bullshit artists) from overseas?Some weeks ago you said that you understood the reason for the hold up of the Four Seasons financing arrangement was that it was going through some legal stage. Is that still the position, blaming the system? Can’t you smell a rat especially when it is dead? The IDB will not put money on the line for a very risky project as long as the present people cussing the IMF and the rating agencies are in the forefront.
No IDB loan, no Four Seasons gravy train for banny, darcy, chris, physical deficit, lowedown, lashes and the like.
-
I guess Barbados today is a real Pillar of Stone……ABC your way …the highway son.We this far from Flintstone n Barney Rubble..bet you is ona DEM overseas boy like Hants and Sarge…understandably. Why do you think IMF wolves are at the door…..cuz we on SSS Titanic son.

i would give David my vote. -
I have said elsewhere that it seems to be part of the DLP’s strategy to scare the electorate into voting for them by suggesting that the BLP will send home public servants if elected. Sinckler is not the only one doing it. This time it would appear that he has gone too far by naming persons associated with the plot. If his allegations are in fact untrue, he would have clearly defamed the persons named. If those persons named in this nefarious scheme do not file cases of defamation of character against Sinckler, I would have to accept what he said as gospel.
Public workers should look out for a case or cases to be filed and if none are forth coming, I would advise them to vote against the BLP in droves at the next general elections. Denials from Arthur to the media would not suffice in this case when we have a remedy to protect their good names.
-
Scare tactics, that is what the buffoon was engaging.
He knows that Barbadians’ minds are made up and that the DLP will be thrown out after one term, so he wants to scare the public workers so that they will vote DLP. This is the Dems “modus operandus”. They know that they have failed but in their warped minds, it is not their fault, its is the BLP, the IMF, Standards and Poor and Moody’s fault.
What was the most comical part of his rant was ……..”I fully support Freundel………Stuart”. That was a classic. This from a man who led a group of his fellow DLP members to plan and plot against his leader, denied any knowledge of it until the Nation with the skill and guile only seen in good journalists, got him to confess that he was the mastermind behind the plot. Ouch!
Does he not realise that Barbadians have wised up to the DLP and their lies and tricks of 2008 cannot work in 2012. This not just another election, we will be voting for the life and soul of our country!

@ Caswell Franklyn | September 12, 2012 at 9:15 AM
Well said, Caswell!
I too will be looking out to see what OSA will do about this.
This must not go the way of the Pierhead marina and the PAC hearings.Lack of advancing this matter will leave me no other alternative than to follow in your footsteps and walk to the voting booth to place my X against the BLP.

Wondering why Dr. Internet and Dr. Goebbels decided to meet on Sunday night..? Could not find a quorum for a DLP spot meeting as people break trash for themselves…..a lot easier en camp.
-
Scare tactics you all are calling it. At the meeting in deaconds road it slipped from seethru mouth that civil servants will be sent home. when he realised his mistake in making the statement so early he tried to back track.
If the Barbados Labour Party is re-elected it is going to be cat piss anD pepper in the civil service. Public officers will be sent home in the THOUSANDS.
THAT IS THE BARBADOS LABOUR PART’S MASTER PLAN!
-
Public sector workers need to realise that a vote for the Barbados Labour Party is a vote for their own demise.
-
” If those persons named in this nefarious scheme do not file cases of defamation of character against Sinckler, I would have to accept what he said as gospel.”
the wheels are turning as i understand it. Sinckler will have to bring the proof or he will pay dearly.

@Caswell…………This time it would appear that he has gone too far by naming persons associated with the plot. If his allegations are in fact untrue, he would have clearly defamed the persons named.
Whose names did the buffoon call? Did he mentioned the names in this this? I have not listened as I cannot bear listening to this man, his mannerism does not endear him to me.
Not being mean but does he see himself in a mirror? He is just too big and is a prime candidate for a heart attack. He needs to take care of himself and stop being so caustic!
-
To the man called CCC who is still feasting on the fatted calf…….
Owen Arthur did not say at Deacons that a BLP government would be sending home public workers. He spoke of the political Governor of the Central Bank, he spoke of the numerous political hacks this government has on the taxpayers dime as consultants. Can you not tell the truth at any time? But then again, you are a Dem, truth does not matter to you Dems, only having power!
-
Many contributors on this blog are calling for truth and justice,
but what is the truth?
Whose truth will it be?
Can the masses of Barbados handle the truth?
And what justice you all talking about? Is there such a thing as justice in the land of living in Barbados?
Is it educated sense to asked for truth and justice in Barbados when evidence points in a different direction?
Can the masses of Barbados handle the truth and justice they are calling for?
I firmly believe not!!
Barbadians need to take off the hypocritical mask that they constantly wearing.
What truth what?
After being fed a large portion of lies generation after generation from the from eons ago you all except to wake one morning and hear get the truth.
Hypocrites!!!
There is only one truth any else is a lie……. plain and simple …man cannot tell the truth it is not in him.
Justice ..there is no such thing among mankind…..we use, trample and kill fellow man to get the things well love……so what justice what…. -
Miller;
That’s not like you!
Placing an X against the BLP is not the same as voting against the BLP.
Was it a freudian slip? -
@ truth n Justice
What justice what…..You and yours would not know it if it grew up on your finger nail, LIKE BUSH as you and your BSB are programmed to believe yours is the gospel according to in st.lou…freedom and justice is a Lord given right….. and not ownership by the state…smoke dat.

@ Checkit-Out | September 12, 2012 at 10:20 AM |
Can’t you see that the game is over for Bim if we continue along the current lines?
Bajans deserve the government they have and will son have under the present crop of DLP politicians or an unchanged BLP.
As the sugar cane finally and totally disappears from our once well tended rolling hills and picturesque landscape of tropical “English-like” dales to turn into overgrown bush the IMF will come up as the final auctioneer to put the land in the hands of people who can give orders to the black locals as in days of yore. Maybe the Chinese can be the saviour instead of jesus and take over the lands with the subservient blacks (in a position where they really belong) taking orders and instructions in Cantonese and Mandarin.Continue with the shit we are doing and it will soon be “Checkmate” for Bim.
-
@ David
Brutas and Mr. Porno meeting together (as per Wickham instructions) to try to force Freudel’s hand to make one, a deputy Prime Minister and the other a Senior Minister and bring back Hartley to manage the PR machinery of the DLP including CBC.
In typical style, what does PM Stuart? Skin the apple cart upside down and appoint David estwick as acting Prime Minister.
Don’t mind Sinckler and Inniss they trying hard to keep relevant in the new order of things in the DLP post the David Thompson era.

Hold not thy breaths Mr Miller or Bro cas- and do not allow yourselves to be fooled by Mr Arthur’s self-serving crocodile tears which would turn out to be nothing more than political melodram uttered like a quack from a duck and which would die a natural death like other fulminations raised such as the Estwick/Marshall shootout at O.k Corral, the lowe land swapdeal, the illegal sale of fuel by the Transport Board to minibuses according to the same Mr Arthur, the illegal appointment of Mr Walters to the BWA according to Mr Arthur, the Pierhead Marina Project controversy. i guess you both will have to cast yourX with Ac, CCC, Sarge and Amused. They hae truly fought long and hard against all odds. They deserve to be compensated.
-
The dis-accord within ranks of the DLP lives on, that meet in Donville’s Branch Office substantiates….Never mind the tendentious rant of”backing Stuart 100 %”.. by Dr.Goebbels …we all know where they stand. During World war II, Field Marshall Rommel (the desert fox) became increasingly disillusioned with Hitler after his pleas to evacuate his men were ignored. Joseph Goebbels ( Min. Misinformation) on the other hand, was a close devoted confidante to the Hilter at all times… These two modern day wannabe clones need to read up their history….or one will trick the other….hmmm.
-
Can anyone on BU in the know advise about SMI’s role (Gline Bannister) in the latest Port project?
-
This is the same OSA who lied when he said he was dun wid politics after being defeated resoundingly by the DLP and turn arund 360 degree and bolted to the front iof the libe like a m.ad boar in heat mashing up and brekng up everything that got in his way to resume the leadership role in the BLP. .miller dat a lie i tell too!
-
@David 12:51
his role is to (t)make money taxpayers money.@ac
This is the same Sinckler that said
“I don’t know of any letter”
“Barack will be paid by December”
” A solution for CLICO is on my desk and will be resolved by June”
“The VAT increase will be reviewed”A track record in a short space of time is a serious thing.
For Sinckler to resort to the 10,000 lay off allegations while in the same breath professing his undying love and support for FS speaks volumes to the internal desperation regarding finding an election strategy.
Just observing
-
Miller;
What does your post of 10.56 am have to do with my earlier comment? I was merely trying to get you to see that your earlier post could be read in two ways. The context implied that you would follow Caswell and vote against the BLP but you actually wrote that you would “put your x against the BLP”. In my book that usually means that since in the voting process, one places one’s X against the person for whom you are voting that you might be inadvertently saying that you were voting for the BLP despite telegraphing through the context of the letter that under the circumstances outlined you would vote for the DLP.That’s all, I don’t care how anyone votes. That’s their prerogative and I actually agree with the premise that if OSA does not aggressively and believably distance himself and his party from the canards of the current synchronized attacks, that he will deserve to lose the coming elections. But I also feel that such a loss will be to the detriment of Barbados if the DLP wins and FS retains the prime ministership and Sinckler, whom I had very great regard for until recently, retains the MOF position and “crapaud smoke we pipe”.
But there is no silver bullet. In the next political term, drastic political action will have to be taken irregardless of who wins. Let’s hope that the winners are more mature and sensible and take actions that will propel us forward and not be like some of the actions taken and actions not taken in this current administration.
Indeed, I think that the best thing that could happen in the next election is that it results in a draw with deadwood from both sides losing thus leaving the best people on both sides to form a coalition government that could take us forward
IMHO, the attacks on the BLP about plans for drastically reducing the public service are typical electioneering red herrings that do not recognize the seriousness of our situation and again seeks to fool those who can be fooled with possible lies.
-
This vitriol coming from an incompetent MOF is not surprising. The Dems are desperate and will say and do anything to hold on to power. I am surprised that miller would believe anything coming out of that buffoon’s mouth. He is a known liar, he does not speak the truth ever!
The DLP is the party well known for cutting public workers and their pay. It was the BLP who restored the salary cuts AND passed a law that public workers’ salaries can not be cut. So who is Unclear trying to fool. You could look at him on TV and see that he was lying to the 20 people in that room and he knew that it would be seen on DLPTV.
I noticed last night up front in the news was a long piece by three young men who hosted a fete. I had to say…..what the hell is this…… fete promoters get prime time to tell about their fete an a duly elected opposition cannot get one minute.
No wonder CBC staff plan to strike tomorrow!

@ Checkit-Out
‘Irregardless’ is not a word. No disrespect as i learned the same lesson many many years ago on a most public and slightly humilitating way.

I am really pissed off with the open bold-faced lies being told about the real state of the Barbados economy. I am also very concerned the BLP are not exposing the amount of thieving, lying and corruption. Let them bring a no-confidence motion or get the PAC up and running. The current MoF is a very dangerous politician that, it seems, is prepared to sell his soul to the devil just to be at the helm of power in this country. Look at just how foursquare he is now all behind the PM. So he has the PM’s back! To do what, double cross and double stab again? The thing that hurts most is that he is able to convince many that he is leadership material and the BLP are against the people while he is protecting them from the BLP wolves. Loyalty is key attribute of good leadership and Mr. Unclear is not loyal.
If he thinks that by lying he can gain greater power to become rich he would just be in waiting for a serious turn of events that befell his mentor David Clico Thompson. Carrying that kind of size around while on a ‘see food’ diet -eating and drinking ever processed food and drink thing in sight at every sweet food function- is just one heartbeat away from a massive myocardial infraction before he reaches 50 to keep his promise and commitment to become a priest in order to seek salvation and intercede on behalf of the soul of his dead friend in limbo.Observing (…) at 1:44 PM |has listed a few of the weapons’ grade lies and deceit exemplified by the man’s thirst for power at all ‘Goebbels type’ costs. A return of this lying head of the DLP Ministry of the DLP Public Enlightenment & Propaganda with Hartley H pulling the strings to a second term would make Hitler look like he is pitching marbles with Jeff Broomes.
This man is a dirty piece of work destined to destroy the Barbados economy. Let him continue to cuss out the IMF and the rating agencies. How can Freundel ever trust him ever again? Despite Dr. Estwick’s shortcomings I would much prefer to see him as MoF. Freundel would lose nothing but gain much if he is to do a last minute reshuffle with the excuse of repositioning his cabinet to put in place the many projects being announced. Let us see if Chris can revive Agriculture in Bim.
