Prime Minister David Thompson promised when he assumed office that he would established a Cabinet sub-committee to investigate the Immigration problem which was visibly evident in Barbados.  In keeping with his promise he issued a Ministerial Statement last week which focused on a new policy to tackle the problem. The issue of immigration is one being battled all over the world, Barbados no exception. Since issuing the statement all hell has broken lose with the most pointed yet covert attack coming from Prime Minister of St. Vincent Ralph Gonzales who elected to issue his own Ministerial Statement in response.

Prime Minister David Thompson although a rookie Prime Minister is a seasoned politician, and we are confident that he will make the right moves to protect the borders of Barbados and by extension the well being of the society which Barbadians have laboured to build in a post independence era.

Prime Minister Patrick Manning had earlier requested a CARICOM Heads of Summit to discuss the global financial crisis but we

suspect that a lot of the time will be spent addressing the decision by the Barbados government to document immigrants. Already Prime Minister David Thompson can expect that Prime Minister Gonzalves et al will be frothing  at the mouth come Sunday in Trinidad to attack the government of Barbados’ decision to arrest the large number of undocumented workers in Barbados. It was yesterday we read Secretary General Edwin Carrington of CARICOM suggesting that the matter will be discussed. He was at pains to point out that member countries in CARICOM had a right to make decisions with respect to sovereignty but he was concerned with how they do it. This we consider to be a most inappropriate comment even before this matter has been discussed given the obvious inference to Barbados.

For those who accuse Barbados of adopting an anti-CSME posture historical events disprove this notion. Was it not Barbados which the late Prime Minister Eugenia Charles turned to mobilize support to rescue Grenada when the New Jewel Movement imploded in 1983? Prime Minister Tom Adams responded without hesitation. What about the CARICOM Multilateral Clearing

David Commissiong
David Commissiong

Facility? This was an arrangement between Central Banks of the region to settle payments where the net surplus of one country could be used to offset a deficit it had with another country. Can anyone guess what happened? Barbados was left owed millions by Guyana and other countries. Not sure if the Barbados government has written the amount off. The point is Barbados remained faithful to the facility to the end while others jumped ship. Was there a furore when the OECS sub-region announced an alliance recently with Trinidad to establish a political and economic union? Wasn’t that a clear threat to the CSME movement? The current global economic crisis seems to have put that arrangement on ice for the moment.

The point is Barbados in our brief post-independence period has continued to demonstrate commitment to the ideals of CARICOM integration in the past and in the present.

Minister Maxine McClean when she had responsibility for immigration publicly acknowledged that her best estimate was that we had about thirty thousand Guyanese alone in Barbados. She indicated that the tracking system at the Immigration Department was poor and it had taken a lot of effort to determine the number of legal and illegal immigrants in Barbados.

Guyana Consul to Barbados Norman Faria
Norman Faria

Minister McClean’s admission is instructive because it came against a background of Mia Mottley’s refusal to address the issue when she had responsibility for Home Affairs when in government. Barbadians have always shown quiet concern at the large numbers of immigrants flowing into Barbados. BU can safely say it is what prompted us to blog about the open immigration policy of the previous government. At the same time Guyana Consul Norman Faria on several occasions when pointedly asked about the number of Guyanese immigrants who were flowing into Barbados commented to the effect that it was for the government to speak to that issue. The PEOPLE waited in vain.

For almost a decade the Owen Arthur government, the media and others in Barbados frustrated all attempts to broach concerns about the obvious open door immigration policy. Callers to the radio shows especially Voice of Barbados were unceremoniously censored, the Nation Newspaper published only soft stories about immigration. The fact that the Chief Editor Roxanne Gibbs at the Nation Newspaper is of Guyanese extraction speaks to credibility and she should be fired over how she has manipulated the Nation coverage of the immigration issue.

Leader of the Opposition Mia Mottley
Leader of the Opposition Mia Mottley

To our surprise the Mia Mottley led opposition has publicly opposed the government’s effort to beef up the immigration system to plug the big hole left by them. Not one BLP Member of Parliament has broken ranks on this issue. The PEOPLE will remember their actions for sure. Even if we used the argument by the BLP that if Barbados is to expand GDP it will need to increase labour capacity, how can that argument apply at this time when our economy has been forced to contract against the global economic crisis? We will not dignify David Commisong and his tribe with too much of a response. They have long ago lost credibility over the Ghanaian affair. Their actions to frustrate the government in that episode has probably resulted in a few Ghanaians still on the run in Barbados.

All across the Caribbean, Bahamas, Antigua, Trinidad, Jamaica, Dominican Republic and others have been deporting illegals but our regional journalist Rickey Singh has been silent. Barbados a tiny country attempts to secure its borders and protect the infrastructure which has made it attractive to the immigrants in the first instance and Singh and his cohorts Peter Wickhan, Annahlee Davis, David Commisong et al grab their foghorns. Funny thing, in all the countries mentioned above the opposition parties and key stakeholders have been mostly supportive of their respective governments actions. It was seen as a national issue and not one to play politics. We want to ask the Bajan Blogosphere to rally around Prime Minister as he fights the diabolical forces in our midst.

For BU the legacy of the media and the Barbados Labour Party in the last ten years will be how they created the monster which Prime Minister David Thompson has to wrestle back into the cage. To compound the problem they had a chance to make amends by supporting the government and PEOPLE of Barbados in the struggle but elected not to risk dismantling the legacy of former Prime Minister Owen Arthur.

  2. ha ha I just made a cursury visit to the BFP blog. Um still have it’s blindly WHITE backgroud, still ghostly. Anything that PP is a member of doesn’t seem to grow or to be inviting. It’s just her and a Dog yuh know, and even that, someone wanted to rescue from her/it. BFP is truly the Barbados Yatch Club of Bajan blogs, and bajans know, not to try entering. Nuh sense going where you are not wanted. ha ha ha

  3. Anon; I am not making light of Ian Bourne’s predicament. I am truly invested in not having to tell his wife, that I warned him, or that I told him so, and it aint me that made reference to his size.

    Concider this:

On July 07 2006 Professor Henry Fraser said in an Nationnews article titled “Slowly killing ourselves” that Barbadians are leading the Caribbean in an epidemic that can only be described as slow motion mass suicide.

It is an epidemic of chronic non-communicable diseases, sometimes known as the lifestyle disease, OBESITY RELATED diseases, metabolic syndrome and its complications, or the Deadly Quartet.

….So after reading this article and then seeing a picture of Ian Bourne or Mia Mottley or Liz Thompson, what am I suppose to think? That Prof Fraser is lier, that he is out to needlessly redicule fat people? Or that the learnt gentleman knows of what he speaks?

BTW the same token am to view the recent declaration that the PRIME MINISTER’S WIFE is to will head a voluntary National Task Force on a major initiative to “get Barbadians moving” as nothing more than yet another ATTACK on MIA MOTTLEY?

BFP is correct about the racist comments you allow here David. They are also correct that BU stopped talking about Integrity Legislation the minute the DLP got power. You lost a lot of credibility then David and since then by not demanding action on Hardwood and Arthur’s election funds cheque fraud. You don’t call the government on its decision to let sleeping dogs lie. Thompy done lots of talking about cleaning house but little sweeping.

  5. It is amazing how small matters engage small minds. This is precisely how I feel about David Thompson and his new immigration policy.

There are a number of missing pieces of information about this matter that Barbadians are yet to know the facts on. That we live in society, indeed a world where news is driven by emotion not facts is a damaging feature in our social and human development. In the same way that the consumption of unhealthy food will lead to an unhealthy body, untruths and false information will lead to a warp sense of our very existence as a people.

Unless we want to be untruthful to ourselves we cannot help but acknowledge that Barbados owes its development to the open immigration policy of countries like GUYANA, England, USA, Canada, Panama and the list goes on. For decades Barbadians along with other migrants have been moving around the world in search of a better life. If Barbados now finds itself in a position to repay for the kindness it received from others then what is the sin?

What is disturbing about this whole immigration matter is the fact that it is neither Thompson nor the DLP that is responsible for the prosperous position Barbados finds itself today. Where we are today is due mainly to the hard and diligent work of Owen Arthur and the BLP.

Who will forget the mess that Thompson, while posing as Minister of Finance, and the DLP left this country in 1994. We lived in a country then in which Barbadians far less immigrants from anywhere wanting to come.

The BLP rebuilt this country, restored our people’s hopes and dreams and reaffirmed their belief in their country. Our country recorded many accomplishments under the last BLP Government and they did it with all the immigrants here. We built this country’s reserves to over $2.7, reduced unemployment to 6%, it’s lowest ever and many other accomplishments.

Today Barbados is on a slippery slope once again and like a recurring decimal Thompson is at the helm again. It is as though he has a death wish for Barbados.

I am of the firm belief that Thompson’s attack on Caricom nationals is a smoke screen to divert Barbadians attention from the frightening state of the Barbados economy and the murderous taxes he will be burdening in the Budget or at a later date. It is also a fact that Thompson’s hate immigration policy is directed specifically at Guyanese in retaliation of their President being unanimously voted to speak to President Obama on behalf of Caricom – a position that would have normally fallen to Thompson who has lead responsibility for CSME.

Barbados has played its role in Caricom with distinction for decades. So that this is not the issue here. The issue is that this present administration lacks the intellectual skill to reposition Barbados in the regional market. What is required in the region at this time is a political leader with the ability to harness the creative minds and natural resources for the collective good of the peoples of this region not hate policies to divide us and undo all the hard work done by our former regionalist like Barrow, Burnham and Williams and others.

Let me end by warning those Barbadians who now feel that Barbados is a heaven whose doors are closed to its neighbors and who thinks that Barbados does not need anyone. May I remind you all “no man is an island”. Thompson’s action can see our musicians and other cultural workers being denied entry into other Caribbean countries. We must not be surprised at the regions response to Thompson’s hate policy on immigration.

  6. BLP doomed to failure because of persons like you RLL! Go to BFP then and don’t read the comments! Stupse

Ian Bourne is like a spoilt big fat red boy that aint get his way and think that when he goes and cries to BFP, that persons would say cud dear.

Well not me! I myself when commenting on BU have sometimes gotten some lashes about my stance, I have never said boo hoo or shit. I ignored or came back to prove my point. For a big man he is acting SILLY!

    Big fat sobber!

  7. Adrian Hinds did you see the conveyance I had BU posted on this blog about the large track of land that Thompson and Parris bought together at a cost of $925,000.00 in their wives name. ===========================

A warning to the wind, heavey with the breath of an imbiber.

The facts are that Barbados has not todate rejected “in-order” papers of a skill caricom national and have allowed more than a comfortable share of persons not covered by any agreement and whose status is contrary to law, unless we are willing to say that the Minister responsible for immigration during the last parliament exercise their authority to allow in, and accepted the issuance of work permits to persons whose immigrant status has not been otherwise regularize.

The facts are that Barbadians with documents authorized under the revise treaty of chaguaramas, have been denied entry, or expel, or have been violently intimidated into leaving a neighbouring Caricom member states. We must not forget the Julian Rogers Trinidad episode, the Julius Gitten Antigua episode nor the Julie’N St.Lucia one. They are documented but apparently forgotten by those with druken minds that what they attempt t0 accuse our very own government of Barbados of, have been the practice of those governments whom they seek to defend. Again I must ask the good people of Barbados, have you no love of self? Why would you seek to endorse elect, and have as your Government a set of people, who continues to deny your wishes, decry and villify your intent, and seek not to do right for you but for others, at your expense? why?

  10. Ian Bourne the half caste mutant who does not even know if he is black, white or chinese. He has no identifiable ethnic group to attach himself to.That is why he is behaving in the confused state of mine he is in.Ian Bourne why don’t you go and report on the collection of garbage by the Sanitation Authority. You have been reduced from a big time prime time news presenter to a person who can only comment on garbage. You are a garbage talker.

The problems these half caste human mutants like Ian Bourne,David Comissiong,Ralph Gonsalves & Esther Byer-Suckoo create as a result of unfortunately having some black genes in them. That is the problem of mixing African genes with the genes of the other ethnics groups. It produces the idiots like those I mentioned above.

Ian Bourne,David Comissiong & Ralph Gonsalves believe that because of the colour or make up have a fundamental right to talk down to people of a darker hue. That will not work with this strong, powerful Black man.
Black people will not stand and be dictated by fools like you all anymore.Ian Bourne take your damn place.

Who the hell cares if Ian Bourne blog,Kelthruth blog or Barbados Free Press blog drop Barbados Underground.Barbados Underground is the leading blog in Barbados and it has impacted positively on some of the policies enunciated by the present government. It gave us the opportunity to vent our views on many issues regardless of our opinions.I respect & love BU even though on many occasions I was condemned by David & BU & chastised for some of the extreme views I expressed on some occasions.

The conspiracy hatched by Mia Mottley & BLP supported by David Comissiong & PEP,Norman Faria,Ricky Singh,Ralph Gonsalves & now Ian Bourne & Barbados Free Press will not stop this government from carrying out its mandate to rid this country of illegal immigrants especially the Indo-Guyanese human waste. This government programme of puting Barbadians first especially Black Barbadians will not be stop also by the above miscreants .

Yes I saw it and I am trying to find out what is the difference between it and the land at Holders Hill. So far I have only be able to determine that there is litte difference between political parties when in power, and that the same is true for yardfowls when remove from the public trough.

  12. Negroman, you are a nut, I am Guyanese of African mixed ancestry, and I am not an idiot, but you are a nut, look somebdsy in Guyana could just knock you down, you are so full of your self, and I am quite sure you could not fend for yourself if placed in downtown Lagos or Accra, for you can only holla and shout in Bridgetown, you could not even make in downtown Georgetown.

  13. All of BFP lackies now on BU….how ironic!!
BFP accused me of threatening Adrian Loveridge and his wife….saying my IP address was one of those carrying out the threats…What a LIE!! When I called them out on it, I was moderated. The same Adrian Loveridge has lost all my respect because he knows who I am personally since I had told him, in person, that I was “Technician” . I find it ridiculous to even consider me a threat, as it was me who fixed his adsl problem, who went beyond the call of duty for him, he has my personal cell number even.
Did he say to BFP, that Tech was not one of them ….no!!
Just goes to show the hypocrisy of people. The real reason I was moderated was because of the so called Money Laundering story (which they are yet to post) that they proclaimed to have, not even coming to light. My calling them out on this was the only reason.
Now BFP wants to talk about people?
Hold your head high David, never sink to the level of the clowns…as for Ian…not too long ago he himself had nothing good to say about the same BFP…dont worry though…I will deal with him in Sully’s shop.

There is only ONE way to make babies.

  15. Anonymous @ 9:22 a.m.: You can’t even report back accurately. Is it ineptitude or are you just a liar? Here is the exact quote from my post at BFP: “It is the same 5 or 6 people posting their racist rants over and over again.” Now perhaps you could explain how that could possibly be construed as meaning that only 5 – 6 people post on BU? What my statement very clearly says is that there are 5 – 6 posters who consistantly post racist tirades. If you wish to be taken seriously, please demonstrate that you have, at least, understood what you have read.

  16. Anonymous @11.30 am .Here wha happen; you’ve got to realise that with BU you’re dealing with a handul of losers like Negroman with their brains between their legs and jerking off at their keyboards with their racism ad effective xenophobia against peoples of all races.. Dvid probably pissing eh pants because of the upcoming court case and he gon lose he lil plaything…

Are you kidding ? You’re basically saying it is OK for Illegal immigrants to be within Barbados’ borders & appear to promote nothing but chaos yourself. The Prime Minister is trying his best to bring back law & order to a chaotic immigration system & you want to continue to the same basic system of the BLP called “ignore the problem” which depresses the wages of the average citizen & legal immigrant due to cheaper ineffective ILLEGAL labor. The open door policy of Barbados now comes with a lock,if you don’t have the proper paperwork you don’t get in,if you have already gotten past the door watch out for the new sensitive security alarms, lol.I also find it soooo interesting that the loudest voices that come out against the immigration enforcement effort are those whom promote the highest amount of illegal immigration to Barbados

On the topic of BFP,I actually visited their site first but the way in which they ALWAYS censor your comments if it doesn’t agree with the topic header & lack luster coverage on the illegal immigration issue was enough for me to never comment their again.

  19. Pied Piper

Why the hell you come on BU to comment.

You are on BFP,you and others like Red Lake Lassie,Jason, Reality Check and others cussing BU and their contributors, yet you need to come on here so that we can read your comments.

I suppose you are only too aware that only your little clique of ‘near whites’ are going to BFP right now and reading your garbage.

  20. Bajan Born why dont you deal with Guyana’s problems. I mean we are tired of this shite.

You all people are something else you are in Barbados talking so much shite!

You realise that in one breath you are saying that you are with bajans but with most of your breath you are dealing with racism and not the truth!

COULD CHRIST MAN, YOU NEED TO STOP IT!

You insult BU and threaten David with all types of shite!

It is people like you who make Bajans not fancy your people. Why dont you tell the people to comply with the laws of the frigging land!

You running your selve to a fine market.

  21. Anon; do not try to reason with unreasonable people. I have been label as racist, xenophobic, disturbed etc. and I have not been persuaded away from my views, nor have my arguments made since the early 2000’s been dealt with, disputed or denied. In fact more and more people are now seeing for themselves what I have been tirelessly preaching about for nearly a decade. Do not be fustrated by these persons. Be contended that your truth is not theirs and that our version of it, will win out because it is a majority view point. If we are persuaded to view the Hindu reverence to the cow as something not to be triavialize due to number of persons practicing that way of life, our numbers and unity of cause on this immigration issue should be the singular cause of satisfaction and belief that we are doing the right thing.

I want to suggest that you keep careful note of the time, remarks and threats that are being made against you by Norman Faria who is posting as Bajan Born.

I hope the guyanese read his coarse and vulgar post above and see what a wonderful example of an honorary consul they have.

He does not seem to have a lot of work to do for his guyanese people because he is blogging on Starbrok news as Reddy in Barbados and here on BU as Bajan Born.

Brendan samaroo a blogger on starbrok deals with him harshly over there.

I hope faria is helping the illegal guyanese in barbados to pack their valises and head back to Berbice and georgetown.

    Adios comrade norman.

    ———————————————-

People no matter their intent can only stand so much boring and drab appearances and writing as can be found at BFP. It has been proven time and time again and without any gloating of BU’s part that this is the blog to blog on all things Bajan. All are welcome here even angry white Bajans and their man-hunting cat owning side-kick, who may subscribe to a time and view that held them as the center of gravity on all things Barbadian. Oh how time has past. ha ha ha ha

  24. Anonymous: You just vex cause you get caught out telling a lie. I haven’t posted here for months because I do not want to be associated with a bunch of racist swine but I will not sit idley by while someone deliberately takes a post of mine on BFP, out of context. Enjoy yahself.

@negroman I am mixed several times over so don’t think we are all alike. I consider myself black though no bajan seems to think so.
Generally speaking Bajans went to other countries and worked while contributing to Barbados and still do to this day. Those who are/were illegal and were caught were deported from wherever they were that is as it should be.
Barbados is being overrun by Guyanese and something needs to be done about it. If you go to Texas and see the huge open spaces (1000s of acres for sale for next to nothing) and yet still they are deporting Mexicans everyday. Why must we support a Gyuanese populcae exceeding a 10th of our native population.
I don’t have a problem with Guyanese but if you are not legal go home. The things you do here can be done @ home.

  26. Knight of the Long Knives Avatar
    Knight of the Long Knives

The PM is definitely listening to the people and I will not forget the BLP’s attemps to skewer the election in their favour by using illegal Guyanese with fake I.D cards.

  27. Is there a new rule that says you can disassociate yourself from others by staying way from them for “months” at time, then show up and associate?

maybe the bunch of racist swine cease to be such for the purpose of her visit to set the record straight. What an idiot!!!

    The comment

“It is the same 5 or 6 people posting their racist rants over and over again.”

was not made in a vacum. It was preceeded by

“What a load of absolute rubbish.”

    that when put together reads ;

“What a load of absolute rubbish. It is the same 5 or 6 people posting their racist rants over and over again”

    Why was this statement made? It was made in response to;

““BU is providing a voice to a large section of the Bajan community”.

How do people “VOICE” their opinion on a blog such as this?

They make comments, in the comments sections.

What are the core components of the two statements?

One contends that a large section of the Bajan population is taking advantage of the medium BU provides. The other statement seeks to deny this contention by vividly stating measurement of correction (5 to 6) as responsible for the number of comments made at BU. No if, and, or buts about it. It is absolute for it’s content to be rubbish.

Anon I have deemed your report to the BU family to be an accurate account of the intent of the author. ha ha ha ha

  28. Knight of the Long Knives, I can still remember reading in the Newspaper back in the eighties i believe or early Nineties, a Barbadian Minister of government, warning Barbadians not to expect any help from the GoB if they they enter the US illegally get into trouble and get deported.

  29. Why thank you Adrian.

I am now more convinced than ever, that BFP is an all white group or near white group of friends and pied piper and red lake lassie are all part of that clique.

They thought because they were popular at first that they had the black bloggers by their nuts and so bloggers were told:if you don’t like what we do don’t come back,or why don’t you go and open your own blog.

Well be careful what you ask for, because the bloggers have done just that;gone and not come back, and so pied piper and the others are trying everything to get traffic back to their site.

  30. Thought you had got rid of me, huh, Patrick P/PiedPiper/Sargeant/Artful Dodger? No siree, I’m your bete noir for as long as you’re around. Racist swine, huh? I knew it wouldn’t be long before you would start up with the insults and filth again. Your mind dwells perpetually in a sewer. Go back to BFP. With any luck they’ll ban you once again for your filthy mind and insults.

  31. Ban me once again?….ummmmm don’t you have to be banned once before in order to be banned again? Sarg…..were you ever banned? Art….did BFP ban you? Diggit you mad in truth.

  32. Anon, Adrian Hinds,

And I thought that I was the only one with these “perverse” views about BFP. ROK get banned too. So the company is growing. I am overcome…!

Yep maybe BFP is the place for Ian Bourne, Boredickey and Guppy Gizzard.

Ace, Xiang, the Knight and Chris could be horourary BU’s

  33. BFP blog criticizing BU could have been done as a ploy to get more traffic to their site. As most commenters who frequent both sites know BFP likes to brag about their numbers. It looks as though they would do whatever it takes to pull down BU by any means necessary.

I really don’t see the necessity of one blog trying to pull down the other, regardless of the other’s mission.

  34. Bajan Born
A little birdie tell me that you are trying to do some underhand stuff to keep some illegal guyanese in Barbados. Well fella, try that and you will be on the same flight as them to “nowhere” land. Today is a funny night.

  35. Well he is Bajan Born, so most likely he has a Republic of Barbados passport and as such the Republic of Nowhere will certainly send him back either on Liat or Nowhere Post.

  36. Look. Forget who is African or Indian or Chinese descent – this issue has nothing to do with race, but everything to do with commonsense. The bottom line is that you cannot go into other people’s country and just set up shop. You have to apply for permission to do this in almost every country in the World. If you do not, you face being arrested and kicked out as an illegal immigrant. This is what would happen to a Bajan of African descent if he/she just tried to move into an African country without going through that country’s immigration rules and getting permission to stay. It happens in most countries, so why not Barbados?

The PM is simply ensuring our protection – ensuring that people from overseas do not just arrive and take work from qualified Bajans and do not leech on our welfare system at the expense of our taxpayers. This is not rocket science. This is common sense. Of course we have to give the PM our full support.

As for BFP, Ian “Fatso” Bourne and Keltruth, it is clear to me that all three have one agenda – the destablization and annexation of Barbados – and the poor souls are not doing well at all. And one paymaster – the Graeme Hall people. If you want to read some subjective, brainless diatribes from the intellectually challenged, go BFP/Keltruth/Fatso. If, on the other hand, you want to read and paricipate in open-forum discussions where you are allowed to state your view even if it is contrary to the views of the blog owner, then stay here on BU. In other words, do you want freedom of speech or not?

Whether BFP and Keltruth and Fatso are mostly of white blood is not of concern IN THIS IMMIGRATION ISSUE. What IS relevant is that if we read them and get angry and upset by them, it is like being upset with a not-too-bright infant. Far better just to give them a good smack and then shut your ears to the squawling.

I would think we all came to BU to be adults in adult discussions. So let us leave the children to play in their sandboxes like BFP, Keltruth and Fatso’s blog which I have never read (I have met Fatso and a bigger (and I am not just referring to his obvious avoirdupoids) and more oily two-legged jackass I have never met) and naturally BU and David do not want to be linked to sites for not-too-bright children, unless it is as a public service.

So, let us adults here in BU discuss grown-up issues and occasionally look over in the BFP/Keltruth play pen (in the case of Fatso, the pig pen) and see if we have to go out and administer a quick slap from time to time, before getting back to the issues that really matter.

Nice to see you back, Bonny Peppa. I missed you a lot.

  37. The gospel according to BWWR/Iain Dean.

  38. For a person who can’t stand BU…Pied Piper is on here a lot though !!

  39. A lot? You all smoked up again Techie? I have not posted here for months, as I have already stated but when someone post son here trying to twist comments I have made, I shall come as often as I like. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

  40. I would have thought that PiedPiper, having labelled us all racist swine would steer clear of this blog. And by the way, Patrick, you DID get banned from BFP a few years ago. Furthermore, using one of your other many names (PiedPiper) a comment of yours, not so long ago, was deleted from BFP because of its sick, revolting, nauseous content. I am sick of your con artist tricks and lies (Artful Dodger indeed). I think you’re the one who should go smoke your cocaine pipe.

  41. Maybe if it were a Bahamian problem we could forget race, but this is Guyanese, they live, eat and breathe race, the whole place is about race. BTW, the Bajan Born ambassador to Barbados from Guyana is indeed a vulgar man, and that in itself speaks volumnes about PPP governed Guyana. Keep an eye on the ambassador from Guyana, for next he will demand that jhandi flags are placed in front of Grantley Adams Airport.

I am Holiness Sister, ambassador, and I think you owe both Negroman and David an apology for posting your nasty smut on this great website.

All these posts just to refute a point?!!?
Come on man …admit it …..you like it here…….we wouldnt tell Aunty Moses or Clive…
BTW….I would take my chalice over a crack pipe anyday….more FIRE!!

  43. @EyeSpy:
It is very telling that BFP had to resort to mentioning BU in order to achieve their highest comment count to an article since the Rihanna episode.

    @Tachnician:
Are you in the habit, when seeing dog do-do on the sidewalk, stopping, getting down on your knees for a close inspection? Or do you note it’s location for the purpose of side-stepping it? I would see this PP ting and leave um alone.

  44. lol AH….get your point……vividly!!

Sometimes the simple approaches we forget. Case in point, I had not caught a cold in many years, and when i finally did, I could not recall the bajan remedies use to bring relief . A good friend after a good laugh at my expense pointed me in the right direction. I was happy never the less. 😀

  46. Barbados rounded up Ghanaians who were working illegally and shipped them back to Africa. Trinidad did same thing. Raper man Gonzalves did not unpick his teeth. Musty Faria said nada. They were black Africans not Indos.

Discriminating against Indo-Guyanese does not have my support. Bringing order and a stop to runaway illegal immigrant problem does. PM Thompson has my backing for doing the latter.

Who is we? What have you built in your life Sylvan Greenidge (Royal Rumble).

You seem to be a born parasite who has contributed nothing to anything! Other than hate and personal unhappiness (which led you to paying out thousands of dollars for defaming a senior politician), stealing from Clico (as I read elsewhere), who respects Sylvan Greenidge anywhere?

What will go on your headstone, old boy?

“Here lies Sylvan Greenidge – personal deodorant for over twenty years of David Thompson, Owen Arthur and Mia Mottley.”

The use of race against African people in and out of the western world constitutes a crime against humanity. When placed under serious analysis the notion that a human being should be judged according to the colour tone of his skin and the kind of hair he has must rank as one of the dumbest ideas ever to emanate from the human mind. Put simply, it does not make sense.

It is therefore very disappointing that this prejudice, which has been used against black people historically, should now be embraced by some of us (black people) against Guyanese of Indian ancestry. The election of Barak Obama to the presidency of the United States should have signalled to us that once and for all we can put race and ethnicity behind us and deal with people based on what they have to offer. Sadly some of us are not yet ready to do that.

Our people have left these shores and gone wide and far to better themselves. In some instances they encountered the same racism and xenophobia we are witnessing today. They did not like it. We did not think it was right for them to be treated in that way. What makes us now believe that it is OK to malign and speak disparagingly about our Caribbean brothers and sisters who come here to take advantage of opportunities to improve their lives?

The late and great E.W Barrow sought to set the lead for us on this matter in 1987 when, at the CARICOM heads of government conference in Guyana, he virtually embraced the concept of a single Caribbean identity. He must be turning in his grave to witness the complete opposite of all that he preached on that occasion.
