Here is a little doodling from Bush Tea. I am particularly interested in the BU family’s take on how Barbados falls into this category

money-savingIt is amazing how life goes. Particularly intriguing is how the lessons to be learned by simple poor folks are identical to those experienced by global conglomerates, and even by superpowers. Practically everyone who can deduce that water is wet, and that fire is hot- can predict the consequences of an individual living beyond his or her means. It is as predictable as old age and eventual death. We all know if you spend more than you earn, that you will end up at the mercy of the loan sharks that bankrolled you.

Ever Tom Dick and Harry know that unless you save for a rainy day, events will catch up on you eventually – and that when it rains, it will pour….

These self-evident truths are well ingrained into practically every living individual – even dumb animals are known to save for a rainy day and to ensure that they live within their means.

So you would think that the greatest superpower that ever existed, with the most advanced technologies ever, and some of the most brilliant minds that ever lived would have figured out these ‘self-evident’ realities. After all these are the guru’s that we all seek to emulate. …..

What Gurus what?!?

Surely we have been deceived by what must be the largest collection of misguided idiots that have ever been fitted with facilities for the expulsion of spent bodily solids. Who in their right mind, could have expected to maintain a long term system whose driving force is greed and graft?  That rewards deceit and dishonesty? And which is designed to live on resources borrowed from sworn enemies? ….FOOLS!!  That’s who.

For some time now, our world has been influenced by a pyramid philosophy, created by the USA, which seeks to exploit as many little people as possible at the bottom, in order to reward a relative few at the top with riches beyond all reasonableness. For decades now, we have seen this small percentage of the world’s population enjoy a disproportionate ratio of the world’s resources, use a large portion of its energy supplies and create a large part of its pollution, while at the same time, huge masses of peoples exists without even the very basic necessities of life -like clean water, basic food and shelter and a safe place to live.

In spite of this glaring disparity, the so called ‘developed world’, under US leadership, continued to seek elaborate mechanisms to amass more wealth and goods for themselves.

When it became unfashionable to do this through slavery and forced labour, the proponents created a number of complex financial and legal entities that not only continued, but also accelerated the exploitation. The World Bank, FTA, IMF and globalization were among the entities designed to facilitate this continuing rape of the 3rd world.

By establishing their dollar as the currency of choice for world trade, they have been able to accumulate unprecedented levels of international debt while hardly accumulating any personal savings. This has sustained their standard of living at a level way above any relationship to real productivity. When even this reached extreme limits, they then created various financial instruments, like junk bonds, which allowed them to invent fictional valuations on their real estate holdings, and to sell these fictional assets to greedy, unsuspecting banks and financial institutions across the world.

This sort of thing happens at the individual level too…  Greedy, misguided persons borrow from everyone who would lend, extend their credit cards, mortgage their assets and even sell their souls – in order to be able to acquire the kind of assets that they associate with success and enjoyment of life.  It always ends in misery and shame.

It was therefore just a matter of time and a question of exactly where in the sorry mess, that America’s bubble would burst. It turns out that some overzealous ratings analyst spilled the beans on the junk bonds/mortgage scam. Once the dominoes began to fall, it was Humpty Dumpty time.

So now America has been exposed. It is nothing but a broke, lost nation, woefully in debt, addicted to oil, lacking leadership, and drifting in a world of resentful masses who remember being the trodden base that supported the pyramid while it lasted.

Its military has been humiliated and bogged down, not against major world powers, but against faceless vagrants who hide in caves and who have no fixed place of abode.

Its religious leadership is characterized by TV millionaires whose success seems to be directly related to the size of their bank holdings, and whose life examples seem to mirror the popular soap operas.

Undoubtedly they possess the most impressive and deadly military arsenal that has ever been assembled. Their technologies, from the ability to routinely operate in outer space to the ongoing development of advance computer and telecommunications systems are unprecedented. Indeed, if it would not prejudice my analysis, I would be tempted to characterize the USA today, as a powerful giant made of iron, but whose feet appear to be molded of clay.

In the final analysis, for individuals, for families, for nations, for continents, and for superpowers, the basic unvarying spiritual laws are unrelenting and inevitable.

-By the sweat of his brow shall a man eat…

-A fool and his money are soon parted

-What shall it profit a man to gain the whole world – and lose his own soul?

There is a lesson in this mess for Barbados too. We too have become blindly focused on the accumulation of money and goods as our measure of success. We too have been exploiting our real estate, inflating prices out of the reach of the ordinary Bajan, we have been ignoring our poor (no longer even counting them as unemployed) and turning to outsiders for cheap labour…and we too will suffer the consequences of the spiritual laws.

For those of us who care, and who have seen humanity being distracted and destroyed by the global philosophy of greed, envy and hate, the coming troubles are expected.

In this respect then, difficult as they will be, the coming experiences may be the greatest blessing that humanity could possible have, if the experience can force us to come to grips with the true value and purpose of life and to rethink the failed philosophy of greed, hate and envy.

“We too have been exploiting our real estate, inflating prices out of the reach of the ordinary Bajan, we have been ignoring our poor (no longer even counting them as unemployed) and turning to outsiders for cheap labour…and we too will suffer the consequences of the spiritual laws”…

It is very rare for the fate of a Nation to be so succinctly put in focus.

  2. Snip below is from a recent article by Paul Craig Roberts, former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Ronald Reagan Administration. Seems like he is in agreement with Bush Tea.

For decades Washington has prevailed because the US dollar is the reserve currency. It is the world’s money. This advantage allows Washington to purchase almost every other government. There are governments all over the world, from Europe to Egypt, from Ukraine to South Korea to Japan, that are owned by Washington. When Washington speaks of spreading freedom and democracy, Washington means it has purchased more governments to do its will.

These purchased governments do not represent their people. They represent American hegemony.

Now that the Great Hegemon is bankrupt and its economy is collapsing, thanks to unbridled greed, American influence is waning. The US dollar cannot survive the massive red ink that the US generates.

When the dollar collapses, the image of a strutting Washington as “the world’s only superpower” will evaporate. The evil that is the American government will find itself at war with its own people and those of the rest of the world.

  4. BushTea is spot on.

I wonder if Barbadians have the courage to face this, and prosper. Silly me – of course they have the former, but the latter will require actions never seen before.

  5. From today’s (Dec 04) Nation News:

    DEBT FEARS

    by GERALYN EDWARD

BARBADIANS are carrying so much debt that if there were significant job losses because of external economic shocks, a financial crisis could develop.

The sobering picture was painted yesterday by Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) president Dr Compton Bourne as he addressed a seminar on the Global Financial Crisis And The Caribbean: Impact And Response hosted by the CDB, World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank and the International Monetary Fund at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

Bourne told participants there was strong growth in private sector credit in the Caribbean, however, it was the 22-fold jump in mortgage lending in Barbados since 1995 that caught the CDB boss’ attention.

“In Barbados, mortgages which were $18 million in 1995 rose to $119 million in 1999 and further still to $408 million in 2006. It is difficult to imagine the growth in income and wealth which would have underpinned a 22-times increase in mortgage finance when Barbadian gross domestic product in current prices increased by only 74 per cent,” he said.

  6. Bushtea

Thou hast well said. In this excellent piece of prose you have told the truth in no uncertain terms.

  7. The report posted by Green Monkey which quotes President of the Caribbean Development Bank is scary but it does not take rocket science for him to have reached that conclusion. As long as the government of Barbados remains plugged into the new market concept and participates fully in the planks which drive globalization i.e.free trade, debt financing, etc the small economies of our region, Barbados included will be at the mercy of G8. A commenter as already questioned whether Barbados as the resolve to engage a Machiavellian approach. We suspect not.

  8. @BushT…
Beaucoup substance here in your piece. Lot of juice. However, I do take umbrage to you referring to the freedom fighters as “faceless vagrants…………….’ Could you imagine living in a world without reaction to an unjust action. I think you should respect the fact that there are men out there with intestinal fortitude, real balls who can face down and defeat some of the fiercest, overwhelming firepower from their humble abodes ‘caves.’ You can’t dis these men like that. These men have not fallen for the crap like the other ‘civilized men’ here in the west who have inflated their bloated bowels at the banquet of buffoonery just lying in wait for the embalmer.

  9. @GM…..
Yea, I agree with some of what Paul Craig Roberts is saying, but it seems like most people have been misled into believing that Washington holds absolute power and control. This man- eating octopus have many tentacles and its three main centres of power lie in Washington- which represents it military might, London- its financial might and the Vatican – its religious might. Its not American hegemony its the hegemony of the blood-letting global financiers who built up the US for their own greed, who convinced them that they are #1, better that all the rest, you know all those slogans, just to take them down now that they think their mission is near completion. That’s why Posse Comitatus is now dead in the US. The same troops that they used to carry out their pillaging and slaughter around the planet, while the american sheeple cheered on, they are now returning them to the street of the US in their mentally messed up state of minds to set them on the people when they revolt against the impending bullshale.

  10. What kind of world have we built; this is scary.

  11. @Bush Tea… Very well said!

We truly do live in a house of cards.

And, ironically, that pile of unstable pieces of paper has become so important that *some* think it cannot be allowed to fall. (We keep being told it can’t. Right?)

It started with the banks… It’s now the auto makers…

“We *can’t* let the auto industry fail, since they employee so many people!!!

And yet, the domestic makers have been building ever larger SUVs — refusing to acknowledge that the energy required to accelerate (and decelerate) a large body of mass cannot be reduced. Let’s ignore that most vehicles only carry a single human…

Meanwhile, the *foreign* auto makers have seen the writing on the wall, and have been building smaller cars, some with alternative energy options…

Hell, in many countries *bikes* (or mass transit) are the nominal form of transportation.

@BT: As you’ve said: this is truly a “pyramid” scheme.

Now, will those on the “bottom” step up, and refuse to accept the “Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt” (FUD) which is continuously thrown at us?

Because, empirically, those at the “top” aren’t going to go too far to enable this. It’s not in *their* best interests. (As an aside, just how many millions does *anyone* need?)

It does take some “testicular fortitude”, but it’s actually quite easy when you try… Just be prepared to laugh a lot.

But then, laughter is rarely a bad thing.

  12. Actually its not scary at all JC if you have trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. Its fun and exciting. It means that JESUS IS COMING SOON & THAT OUR SALVATION IS NOW SOONER THAN WHEN WE FIRST BELIEVED!

Since America is not mentioned anywhere in Bible Prophecy, they must and will be eliminated and the Euro Nation or the 10 toes of Daniel’s image will emerge as the precursor to the rise of the AntiChrist during the Tribulation period.

However, prior to this the RAPTURE WILL OCCUR ANYTIME NOW.

  13. @George Porgie: “JESUS IS COMING SOON & THAT OUR SALVATION IS NOW SOONER THAN WHEN WE FIRST BELIEVED!

Now *this* I take extreme exception to…

Let me please observe that in the United States, religious fundamentalism has been internalized by the Republicans. Or, at the very least, they use it to their advantage.

I don’t even know how many times the “Second Coming” has been used to pacify the masses.

“Don’t worry — just keep consuming. It will all work out… Trust us; It’s Been Written…”

It might appear obvious that while waiting for the reappearance of Christ, that we simple (pathetic) humans might consider taking care of ourselves…

After all, what if Christ *doesn’t* reappear for a while? It’s been 2000 years so far — perhaps he’s currently otherwise engaged…

  14. According to my grandmother:
God will help you if you help yourself.

  15. Chris
On the basis of 2 Peter 3:3 you are expected to say exactly what you said thus

After all, what if Christ *doesn’t* reappear for a while? It’s been 2000 years so far — perhaps he’s currently otherwise engaged…

What is true though is that all of the predictions concerning his first advent were fulfilled exactly as predicted. Consequently a simpleton like me is very confident that his second advent will also be fulfilled exactly as predicted.

I dont know how many times the doctrine of the second coming of Christ has been used to pacify the masses by who soever, nor do I care. I have no doubt that the things you have said are true and that they are practiced by greedy men.

However,I sought to share an opinion based on my interpretation of current global events in relationship to what the Scriptures teach that we should expect at the eschaton.

Those who have not studied the Scriptures can not of course reasonably opine accurately from a biblical standpoint, but only from a worldly view point. And as we know the world view point is not very appealing.

Certainly, as you say, while we watch and wait on the Lord’s coming we are expected to war- or as you say…..look out or care for ourselves. I have not excluded that at all.

  16. A prayer for the modern age…

Dear (Absent, Inattentive, Delinquent) Father… Who (some claim) is in Heaven…

    Please forgive us our sins…

Please once again send us your son, so we can once again nail him to a cross…

We simple humans are expecting so much from you, and yet we can’t seem to get past the “Me! Me! Me!”.

Dear Father in Heaven, do please once again send us your son…

It will mean so much for our next quarter…

    Amen….

  17. Chris
You are mistaken, the heavenly Father is not Absent, Inattentive, Delinquent.

In contrast we read in 2 Peter 3:9 that ….

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Since 2 Peter is a second coming chapter, the “promise” here refers to his second coming!

When He comes again Jesus wont be nailed to a cross as you suggest… He wont be crucified twice. You must not strike the ROCK twice!

For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

    Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;

For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

When He comes again Jesus will come us JUDGE!

Tell me Chris who are the humans that are expecting so much from the Father? The world plans to fix the current crisis all by itself. Things will soon be ripe for the advent of Antichrist who will seduce folk with thier itching ears to believe the “lie.”

Dont worry Chris . He is coming soon to those who are looking for his appearing as taught in Hebrews 9:28

I dont know what YOU will do in the next quarter, but I will will rest in the truth of Philippians 4:19 as I have done for the last 13 years especially

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

I will continue to be comforted come what may by Philipians 4:6-7

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

You and others may scoff as much as you like. 2 Peter 3 predicted over 2000 years ago that you would be exactly this just about this time. So you are right on time. Congrats

  18. @Georgie Porgie… Wow! Simple minded shit, for those with simple minds full of, well, mushy brown stuff (read: shit!)…

    Let’s take a bet…

I challenge any God to strike me down NOW!

    Right now!

    (Wait for it…) Now!!!

(Humm… Maybe they need a bit of time to prepare.. A God can’t be expected to always be on their best form, can they…)

While you reference the “written word”, and the “Gods” reference the literature as to how to strike down a simple human, let’s proceed with the assumption that the “Gods” are actually impotent — and we’re alone.

Damn… And I had my hammer all ready and everything….

    (ROTFL…)

  19. ok Chris Halsall. Today self I’ll go out and buy something so that I can help your next quarter.

  20. Chris
I will be the first to admit that I am simple minded. I have read the Bible as long as I can remember, and have studied it seriously since I was age 16, and I interpret it quite literally according to the rules and principles of Hermeneutics.

What I like about studying the Bible is that, unlike the other things I have studied, it remains constant. 2 Peter 3:3&9, for example means exactly what it meant 40 years ago.

This is quite unlike the science and Medicine that I learned in the interim, and which I have believed with my simple mind in the same way that I believe the Bible.

  21. Oh by the way Chris, while you are scoffing and mocking God- not me the truth of 2 Peter 3:9 continues to ring true

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

The Lord is longsuffering to you too. He is not willing that YOU should perish, but that YOU should come to repentance, and confess your sin and accept Him as LOrd and Savior.

You do have a choice, you can BOW NOW or you can BOW LATER……..but you WILL HAVE TO BOW EVENTUALLY as Philipians 2:9-11 points out.

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

    That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth;

And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

  22. @GP: “I have read the Bible as long as I can remember, and have studied it seriously since I was age 16, and I interpret it quite literally according to the rules and principles of Hermeneutics.

This is a self reference. A hermeneutic reference cannot be wrong… (Within the context of the Bible.)

@GP: “What I like about studying the Bible is that, unlike the other things I have studied, it remains constant.

Interesting… Because even the (accepted) laws of physics have changed *many* times over the last few hundred years. And we’re *still* *not* *sure*.

(Frankly, I’m (personally) much more likely to listen to those who aren’t *sure* than those who *are*.)

@GP: Are you really sure of those who are *sure*? How strong is your mind?

(May the Gods strike me down….)

  23. Chris
Re This is a self reference. A hermeneutic reference cannot be wrong… (Within the context of the Bible.)

Your comment indicates that you do not know ANYTHING about Hermeneutics and Biblical interpretation; nor have you studied the same.

When I say that “What I like about studying the Bible is that, unlike the other things I have studied, it remains constant” I mean that tomorrow when I read 2 Peter 3:3 &9 it will be saying the same thing. This is in contrast to the fact , as you correctly point out, that the (accepted) laws of physics have changed *many* times over the last few hundred years. So it is for my favorite subject biochemistry, the knowledge of which is expanding by the minute. You are agreeing with the point I was seeking to make.

Bible study is thus easier than the study of Physics or Chemistry or Biochemistry, despite the fact that Bible commentaries and translations are being done daily. But in the final analysis, “the peace that passes understanding” still means “the peace that passes understanding!” And when it says in John 10:9 that Christ is the DOOR of the sheep, the interpretation is the same. He is Himself the entrance to the sheepfold, where there is eternal safety.

In contrast, when given the chapter on Kidney from Robins text book of Pathology to teach to medical students, three quarters of the chapter was like a Latin unseen. Most of the information had been updated in the 25 years in which I had graduated from medical school. The Bible texts I memorized as a teenager 40 years ago, are still, however, interpreted in the same way by true Bible scholars and theologians.

  24. @GP: “When I say that “What I like about studying the Bible is that, unlike the other things I have studied, it remains constant” I mean that tomorrow when I read 2 Peter 3:3 &9 it will be saying the same thing.

    Is this any different than saying that 2^8 == 2^4 ^ 2?

    Or that H2 + O == H2O (+ energy)?

    Fundamentally, constants are…

Some are dependent upon humans. Others, not so.

  25. Chris

Powerful message Bush Tea… you make a compelling case against Socialism 🙂

  27. @ GP
I wonder what your friend Chris the philosopher would say if he read this page on Hebrews 1:1 written by the now deceased J Vernon McGee.

It is most notable that this verse and this book begin with the word God. There are certain premises upon which this book rests. When you study geometry, there are certain axioms with which you must begin, and if you don’t, you won’t begin at all. If two plus two does not equal four, then you are at sea as far as mathematics is concerned. A straight line is the shortest distance between two points; that is a proven fact, and it is accepted. When that fact is established, you can move on and prove something else. In the Book of Hebrews, as in the Book of Genesis, no attempt is made to prove God’s existence. Both books assume that there is a God. The Bible makes no effort to try to prove the existence of God. There are courses in seminaries today that try to build up some philosophic system by which the existence of God can be proven. I have been through courses like that, and I know what I’m talking about when I say it is a great waste of time. There is something wrong with you if you can’t walk out and look up at the mountains, or go down to the seashore and look at the sea, or look up into the heavens, and recognize that there is a Creator. “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handiwork” (Ps. 19:1). My friend, if the created universe is not saying something to you about a Creator, there is something radically wrong with your thinking. As a young fellow said to me about an atheist, “Dr. McGee, he isn’t dealing with a full deck!” It is the fool who has said in his heart that there is no God (see Ps. 14:1).

The second assumption we find in Hebrews 1:1 is that God has spoken. Realizing that God is an intelligent Person and that He has given mankind a certain degree of intelligence, if we didn’t already have a revelation from Him, I would suggest that we wait for it. It is only logical that the Creator would get a message through to us. Well, my friend, He has communicated with us. And the revelation that we have is the inspired Word of God. The first verse of Hebrews assumes that the Scriptures we have are divinely inspired. The revelation to which he refers is the revelation of the Old Testament as we have it today.
There is nothing before it to try to prove He exists. If you deny the existence of God, the problem is with you, not with God. So many little men who carry a Ph.D. degree deny that God exists. My thought is, Who are they? Put one of those puny, little minds down by the side of God and it becomes obvious why God did not waste His time proving who He is. If any person is going to come to God, that person must first believe that God is.

  28. Bobbie:

I admit there are many things wrong with me, and in the face of nature, I am indeed puny.

But don’t come here with your prehistorical myths telling me that I cannot believe my own senses, and must submit to some tosh written by “holy” men 2-300 years ago to enslave the minds of their benighted friends.

Your arrogance appals me as it insinuates that because you have accepted a myth promulgated by an accident of birth and geography, every other member of the human race is mentally deficient.

No wonder there are wars if these are the principles upon which religion is based.

I want no part of your spurious elitism,
but I wish you well in your salvation.

    ——————————————————————————————
Have you ever seen who makes US foreign policy…….the same said ‘Christians’.

  33. ……..’but against faceless vagrants who hide in caves and who have no fixed place of abode.”

Funny……when they were fighting the Soviets, they lived in cities with addresses.

When they were fighting the Iranians, they were well known and allies……

  34. @BAFBFP /Hopi

The ‘disparaging’ reference to the “faceless vagrants who hide in caves and who have no fixed place of abode.” was not meant to be a slight on those persons or on their bravery or tactics. It was to emphasize the futility of the USA’s dependence for their protection, on the most powerful army ever put together .
Of course Bush Tea would not have anything good to say about the murderous terrorists who feel that their own brand of religion gives them the right to murder innocent civilians in much the same was as the USA and other modern armies do….

I guess it is a case of two wrongs – with the lesser expensive of the two appearing to dominate.

    @BAFBFP,
Why are you surprised that GP sees these things from a religious point of view? I think that it demonstrates his commitment to his faith. We see these events from a Bajan point of view- and, having been converted, Adrian Hinds obviously sees them from an American Republican perspective…. It is human.

    @Adrian H
man tek it easy, it is not exactly our fault that your country’s behind is in the grass…. I seem to recall that the whole world was rooting for the USA to lead. (especially after 911) We were all prepared to follow.

The people who you should chastise are your crooked and inept leaders who choose instead to abuse their powers, become world bullies, export their productive sector, and generally poison their own economy, politics, religion and even their own foods to their own demise….

What ‘rush to see this completed’ what?!?
This is a clear case of suicide by shooting oneself in the foot.

  35. After reading your explanation Bush Tea…I take back my comments above.

    Forgive me…..:-)

  36. Sorry Bushman but you ain’ digging deep enough.

I will save Hopi some effort by saying to you that they are still people out here who do not buy into this “terrorist anti Christian fanaticism” story line that has factored into your reasoned opinion. Again who is to say which explosions are carried out by the underground (insurgency), which by opportunist (mid-eastern fanatics) and which by Special Forces (western fanatics), or which or simply illusions created by the media?

Hey we are on the same side here, just a matter of degree.

  37. @BAFBFP
Fair enough my friend, but you may note that Bust Tea qualifies his description of the insurgents as follows:
    *************************************
“murderous terrorists who feel that their own brand of religion gives them the right to murder innocent civilians in much the same was as the USA and other modern armies do….”
    *************************************
…Your innocent freedom fighters are therefore well taken care of. LOL.
…ya think only Juris could talk sweet? LOL

  38. @ Bush Tea…..

Man you starting to sound a lot like my old mentor, Gladstone Holder.

  39. Bobbie… With regards to your above, I would say…

This line of argument is shallow and weak… It basically says “you must believe in God, because I do — and if you don’t, you’re a fool”. But which God(s)? There are many to choose from.

You see, for example, when I look at the mountains, I see the wondrous hand of plate tectonics, weathering, erosion, and much, much time… Science (and the Universe) is my God.

Is my interpretation any less valid than someone who sees the Hand of a sentient God?

And could not we all actually be correct?

The exception I took with GP’s post was the statement that everything will be OK in this crisis because it foretells the Second Coming.

This is dangerous folly, as it encourages Followers to not take seriously where we have placed ourselves — and to do something about it!

What if there is no “reset button”?

    @ Bush Tea…..

Man you starting to sound a lot like my old mentor, Gladstone Holder
    *************************************
Do mek sport at the Bush man Techie. LOL
..But he was one of mine too..

  41. @BushT…… you might have slighted the ‘USA’ but you straight out condemned the ‘faceless vagrants…’ You see this is not even about religion despite the fact that this is one of the tools that the real criminals are using, more Smoke n’ Mirrors.
Bushman you’re a semanticist and no,Gladstone Holder did not mince words he was one man in Barbados who had his pen on the foreign policy pulse.

  42. My problem with Gladstone was that he was a bit too God fearing for me. He saw the problem clearly, and without the use of the internet (I offered to help him in that regard, he was a Executive Intelligence Review man) but his solution was always religious based. Sad.

  43. @BAFBFP , Hopi and Bush Tea…..

Do any of you know where I can get hold of any of Holder’s articles?

  44. Dont worry that His solutions were religous based.

The way he identified the problem was what attracted me to his column.
However we choose to rectify a problem is up to us, it is the ability to see the problem that is lacking today.

  45. Bushman,
I have never seen a bombing (I was at UWI when flight 455 blew up off Paynes Bay, Had the pilot not turned around and headed back out to sea there might have been no more me or the UWI for that matter. I think he should be awarded a post-humus honorary Doctorate for saving the campus and Wanstead) of any kind or met any of the people that I mentioned. (That is not quite true. I met an ex British SAS who was sworn to secrecy for thirty years who detailed a lot of the shite that they did in Korea) But I am very aware that it is as a result of opportunity and motive that events develop; and why I know this, I, like you, am human. No innocent people, no vagrants, no terrorists no labels.

    Techy,
He brought a book out a year before he died. Pages Book store should still have plenty plenty copies. He, as you would expect, was not very popular amongst the masses.

    Chris.
Man stop that nah… Let de man be. Lef he lone. Unless you ain’ got nuttin betta tah do..

  46. Tech….. True. The fact that he sought out a religious solution does not negate the fact that he identified the problem. That perceptive ability is sorely lacking today because of our five senses conditioning, media, entertainment and ‘education’ hypnosis. You might have to call up the ‘rag’ to get his articles. Such historical analysis should be archived.

  47. I am tempted to say that he who mimics the solution might also be guilty of mimicking the problem (I just said it) but he dared to bring a perspective to international issues in a way that no other public Bajan commentator was prepared to do. He was the perfect foil to Joan Benjamin and his sources were very limited when compared to what is available today.

  48. @ Chris
I did not say that everything will be OK in this crisis because it foretells the Second Coming. I started off by saying that the crisis is not scary to those who have trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. Its fun and exciting. It means that JESUS IS COMING SOON & THAT OUR SALVATION IS NOW SOONER THAN WHEN WE FIRST BELIEVED! All serious believers with whom I have discussed the crisis share this view. We all understand that since America is not mentioned anywhere in Bible Prophecy, they must and will be eliminated and the Euro Nation or the 10 toes of Daniel’s image will emerge as the precursor to the rise of the AntiChrist during the Tribulation period.
However, prior to this the RAPTURE WILL OCCUR ANYTIME NOW.

What I have said is not at all dangerous; nor should it cause any serious believers to disregard the issues at hand, because all serious believers seek to OCCUPY TILL HE COMES. ……… all serious believers know that they are to WAIT and WAR while they WATCH and WAIT for his coming.

Re; I don’t know but medicine and religion don’ mix. If knew who you were, I would stay the hell away from your practice. I cannot understand why is it that any attempt to discuss US foreign policy always seem to attract such Christian fanaticism.
    —————————–
I was converted and started to study the Bible at age 16, around the time I entered Science Sixth at HC with the view to study Medicine. My study of the Bible (not religion) and Medicine occurred concurrently; and they have never clashed. Along the way, I have met many fine Christian doctors from all over the world. It might surprise you how many doctors believe the written Word of God, and in the living Word of God . I cannot understand why is it that any attempt to relate contemporary world events in the light of the prophetic Word of God must always attract such hostility and resentment. Aren’t believers entitled to an opinion too?. Why are you surprised that I should see these things from a Biblical point of view?

While America is facing this eminent fall, (some people seems to be in rush to see this completed) a void will be left for another country to fill? who will it be? Iran? Russia? china? who? schuuussspppppse

    ————
The imminent fall of the USA will not be filled by Iran, Russia or China according to Bible prophecy; but by the revised Roman Empire (the ten toes of Daniel’s image in Daniel 2 & 7). Bible scholars and Theologians believe this to be 10 combined European Nations; though the exact composition of these nations is currently unsure.

Doctors, more than anyone else are exposed to the horrible nature of human suffering and death, and more than anyone are expected (by me) not to seek a divine relevance to it all. Please sir, with respect I am not conversing with you anymore on this religion thing.

  50. I dont discuss religion; I discuss the Bible. Its one of my hobbies. And since their is a Bible passage relevant relevant to most issues, I will be stating the Biblical view whenever it suits me, irregardless to is unhappy about it, or whether or not anyone can see the need or relevance.
