It is no secret that Adrian Loveridge by using BU and Barbados Free Press has been relentless in demanding that the the Lucky Number game of chance, which is owned by the shady Opera Telecom in the United Kingdom, publish the names of past winners. The fact that after many weeks of the game being run on our lone government owned TV station and in the leading newspaper without feeling obligated to publish the name of winners, it does not say much for the Fair Trading Commission (FTC). Previous communication from the FTC has been ambiguous and ‘wishy washy’, and continues to force Barbadians to pose hard questions about the FTC.
Todays extract from the Nation newspaper suggests it may have been the pressure from Adrian L, use of the blogs, that is making a difference regarding this issue. It certainly seems that the Nation has been forced to make a public statement on the matter. We will monitor CBC TV for a similar response! The fact that we have to wait for the names of the winners to be published continues to bother us. This is information which we would have thought is readily available.
Come on Barbadians! Let us continue to be vigilant when it comes to how the affairs of our country is being managed.
