All we can say with any certainty is what they are not so for example the Southern Corridor is not a safe zone because that is where most of the COVID cases have been found.
We could infer what they are however, that would be any water distribution zone where COVID cases do not exist or if they do are minimal.

John Knox’s additional protocols he has instituted for himself include the following.
Besides the mask wearing, social distancing, sanitization etc to combat airborne spread, John Knox also follows these 10 protocols:
a) does not use rest rooms in the Southern corridor and limits his use of them to where he lives
b) does not eat any leafy vegetables raw and prepared by washing … salads are out
c) sticks to boiled or steamed vegetables
d) Buys whole pumpkins or sometimes grows his own for home use
e) does not go in the sea anywhere (instituted decades ago)
f) Does not bathe as regularly as before unless his stinkiness dictates otherwise
g) Avoids as much as possible any face washing except where he lives
h) relies on hand sanitizers provided (not water) to clean his hands before eating out anywhere
i) generally tries to limit his exposure to water especially outside of his distribution zone.
j) Has confirmed with his dentist that all water used is distilled

These protocols have so far worked well for me.
Once upon a time before I had figured out how COVID spreads, I went to Florida and returned with a flu unlike any other I had contracted in the past.
Could have been COVID, maybe it wasn’t.
Some but not all of my protocols I have routinely employed for decades even back when the Government had no protocols.
So it is debatable if the fact I have rarely had flu after flu shots a decade ago was due to my protocols or the flu shots.
I am now convinced that flu is also waterborne!!
The care I employ when using a strange rest room I learnt from a doctor friend of mind who when in pre med at Harvard was the only one in an entire dorm who escaped a stomach bug that laid low her entire dorm, save one person besides her.
That person was totally engrossed in writing a paper and did not come out of her room for anything for the period when everybody else was falling ill.
My doctor friend realised what was happening and used alternatives and did so with care.
At one time I used to laugh and call her a germaphobe!!

EMERGENCY MANGEMENT (COVID-19) (NO. 2) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 2021
The Cabinet, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 28A(4) of the Emergency Management Act, makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Emergency Mangement (COVID-19) (No. 2) (Amendment) Order, 2021.
2. The Emergency Management (COVID-19) (No. 2) Order, 2021 (S.I. 2021 No. 61) is amended by inserting immediately after paragraph 17 the following:
“Designation of safe zones
17A.(1) The Prime Minister may, on the advice of the Chief Medical Officer, issue a directive designating any area, business or establishment, to which only persons who comply with the provisions of the directive may go or may transact business.
(2) An area, a business or an establishment designated by the Prime Minister pursuant to subsection (1) shall be known as a safe zone.
(3) A person who fails to comply with a directive referred to in subparagraph (1) is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary

WHEREAS pursuant to paragraph 17A of the Emergency Management (COVID-19) (No. 2) Order, 2021 (S.I. 2021 No. 61) made under the Emergency Management Act, Cap. 160A, it is provided that the Prime Minister may on the advice of the Chief Medical Officer, issue a Directive designating any area, business or establishment a safe zone to which only persons who comply with the provisions of the Directive may go or may transact business;
AND WHEREAS a public health emergency exists in Barbados;
The Prime Minister, by virtue of the power and authority vested in her and on the advice of the Chief Medical Officer pursuant to paragraph 17A of the Emergency Management (COVID-19) (No. 2) Order, 2021, hereby issues the following Directive:
1. This Directive may be cited as the Emergency Management
(COVID-19) (Safe Zones) Directive, 2021.
2. This Directive applies to the following health service institutions which are hereby designated safe zones:
(a) health service institutions within the meaning of section 2 of the Health Services Act, Cap. 44;
(b) nursing homes, private hospitals, and senior citizens’ homes within the meaning of regulation 2 of the Health Services (Private Hospitals,

Nursing Homes, Senior Citizens’ Homes and Maternity Homes) Regulations, 2005 (S.I. 2005 No. 58);
(c) offices of dental practitioners licensed under the Dental Registration Act, Cap. 367;
(d) offices of medical practitioners registered under the Medical Profession Act, 2011 (Act 2011-1);
(e) offices of paramedical professionals registered under the Paramedical
Professions Act, Cap. 372C;
(f) all COVID-19 testing sites;
(g) quarantine and isolation facilities designated by the Chief Medical Officer; and
(k) all other non-governmental organizations that provide health services.
3.(1) The owner or operator or the person in charge of an institution enumerated in paragraph 2 shall ensure that there is prominently displayed at the entrance to the institution, a notice issued by the Chief Medical Officer indicating that the institution is a safe zone.
(2) An employee who is fully vaccinated shall produce a copy of his vaccination card or vaccination certificate to the person in charge of the institution and that person shall keep a copy of the card or certificate which shall be retained among the records of the institution.
(3) For the purposes of this Directive, a person is fully vaccinated if that person has completed a full regimen of vaccines of any of the Ministry of Health and Wellness approved COVID-19 vaccinations at least 14 days or more prior to seeking to enter or remain within the precincts of an institution listed in paragraph 2.
An employee of an institution listed in paragraph 2 is considered at high risk of contracting or transmitting COVID-19 if
(a) he works with persons who are known to be infected with COVID-19;
(b) he takes samples from persons who are at high risk of contracting
COVID-19; or
(c) he cares for persons
(i) who are ill;
(ii) who are in a nursing home or senior citizens’ home; or (iii) who are in a psychiatric hospital.
(2) An employee referred to in subparagraph (1)
(a) who is fully vaccinated, shall be tested for COVID-19 at least once every 42 days; and
(b) who is not fully vaccinated, shall be tested for COVID-19 at least once every 7 days,
or at such other intervals as the Chief Medical Officer determines.
5.(1) An employee of an institution listed in paragraph 2 is considered to be at low risk of contracting or transmitting COVID-19 if
(a) he does not work with persons who are known to be infected with
COVID-19; or
(b) does not care for persons referred to in paragraph 4(c).
(2) An employee referred to in subparagraph (1) who is not fully vaccinated, shall be tested for COVID-19 at least once every 7 days or at such other intervals as the Chief Medical Officer determines.

(3) At least 25 percent of employees referred to in subparagraph (1) who are fully vaccinated, shall be tested for COVID-19 once every 60 days or at such other intervals as the Chief Medical Officer determines.
6.(1) Notwithstanding paragraphs 4 and 5, an employee who tested positive for COVID-19 is exempt from the testing requirement set out in those paragraphs for a period of 90 days from the date of his discharge from isolation due to COVID-19.
(2) Where an employee referred to in subparagraph (1) is not fully vaccinated, upon his resumption of duties at the institution, the person in charge of the institution shall direct the employee to visit the Barbados Government Information Service website at https://gisbarbados.gov.bb to obtain the details of where he may go to be vaccinated.
7. All employees tested for COVID-19 pursuant to paragraphs 4 and 5 shall produce the results of the test to the person in charge of the institution at which they work.
8. The intervals at which employees shall be tested in accordance with paragraphs 4 and 5 shall be displayed in a conspicuous place at the institution and every employee shall be provided with a copy of such.
9.(1) The owner or operator or person in charge of an institution shall not permit an employee who fails to comply with this Directive to enter the institution or to remain within the precincts thereof.
(2) For a period of 14 days after the commencement of this Directive, no action shall be taken against an employee or the owner or operator or person in charge of an institution for failure to comply with subparagraph (1).

10. An employee who makes a false or misleading statement or produces a false or misleading document to the person in charge of the institution to prove that
(a) he was tested for COVID-19 and the test was negative; or
(b) that he has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of $50 000 or to imprisonment for a term of one year or to both pursuant to paragraph 17A(3) of the Emergency Management (COVID-19) (No. 2) Order, 2021 (S.I. 2021 No. 61).
10. This Directive shall come into effect on the 8th day of November, 2021.

I think it is a bad joke with govt officials proudly taking pics with the arrival of vaccines to then have to contrast that with now average 216 new vaccinations per day and the country only have 56% of the eligible pop fully vaccinated.The safe zones represents some sort of practical strategy to mitigate the pandemic. My concern is the seeming lack of urgency to have them implemented in the face of virus spread that was going in the wrong direction. In recent days though it seems that the new cases numbers are declining hopefully indicating that Barbados is on the downward part of the slope of this current COVID-19 wave.
Be that as it may, in my mind, these safes zones along with having a reasonable amount of vaccines available represents reasonable steps for a govt to mitigate a pandemic, involving a highly recoverable (but highly contagious) virus . Barbados should really be going into 2022 navigating its way out of the pandemic

We should not blame our Supreme Leader or her Cabinet Ministers for the poplulation´s failure to vaccinate. Our government members speak on TV almost daily and urge the population to get vaccinated.
As I said, the population is immunised even without vaccination. However, with a much higher rate of deaths and long-term damage than with side effects of vaccination. I am the very last person to cheer about this collateral damage, I am only noting what is inevitable.
Small tip on the side: If our population does not want even the latest batch of Pfizer-Biontech, our government should offer the vaccine to tourists and expats for the third vaccination. I am sure that a great many would be grateful for this.

The safe zones is one way to do such short of a mandatory vaccine mandate.
Even so it APPEARS to be a half hearted implementation. Also I have not seen or heard of any press conference to flesh out the dynamic of these safe zones to the general public. The govt should not have any fear or should not cower against any constructive criticism to these safe zones.
I do like the basic concept of testing intervals based on levels of risk to COVID-19 exposure, I probably would modify some of the testing intervals based on what we know of this virus. The secondary effect of these safe zones would hopefully be an increase in the vaccination rate. -

I guess it’s time to cue the lights and sirens, because, America, you need to get ready for the vaccine police to come knocking on your door. And no, it’s not just going to be your residential door, but your commercial door as well.
According to one report, there are plenty of workers who remain unvaccinated that may encounter a lot of trouble at their place of employment and pay a serious price.
The Occupational Health and Safety Administration, which is an agency within the Department of Labor, reported on Monday that they recently completed an interagency review that was the final step in their plan (the final nail in the coffin? Pardon my snarkiness) to enforce Biden’s plan to enforce a vaccine mandate on employers that have 100 or more workers.
“On November 1, the Office of Management and Budget completed its regulatory review of the emergency temporary standard. The Federal Register will publish the emergency temporary standard in the coming days,” a Labor Department spokesman reported to CNN.
“The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been working expeditiously to develop an emergency temporary standard that covers employers with 100 or more employees, firm- or company-wide, and provides options for compliance.”
“Covered employers must develop, implement, and enforce a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy, unless they adopt a policy requiring employees to choose either to get vaccinated or to undergo regular COVID-19 testing and wear a face covering at work. The ETS also requires employers to provide paid time to workers to get vaccinated and paid sick leave to recover from any side effects,” the spokesman added.
The only thing you need to know about ETS is that it is bureaucratic shorthand for “emergency temporary standard.” When an entity exists as an ETS, it means that it is a rule that will take effect immediately, even when a public comment period takes place.The fines could run as high as $14,000 per violation.
However, according to a Bloomberg Law report, the new rule just might also have financial consequences for unvaccinated employees.
Based on unnamed sources, Bloomberg Law is also stating that this could enable employers to make employees pay for their masks and testing if they choose to remain unvaccinated. Of course, there are some employees that would qualify for an exemption under federal law.
“After all, making the fallback route of weekly testing a financial burden for the employee would encourage more folks to take the vaccination pathway. The administration in the process would tamp down business opposition by delivering on a key industry ask — relief from being forced to shoulder those costs — while giving employers the option of absorbing testing costs if they fear losing workers,” the outlet reported.
Jordan Barab, a former OHSA official, put the blame on the Biden Administration, claiming that they likely pushed for it and he called it a “really bad precedent.”
“OSHA’s always had a firm policy that employers pay for all required tests and equipment,” Barab said, noting the possible exception of the work boots. “This would be totally unprecedented and therefore set a bad standard for future OSHA requirements.”
Multiple GOP state attorney generals are now saying that they will challenge the law if it actually does appear in the Federal Register, as reported by the Washington Post. Naturally, this is also dependent on how the courts react. If they challenge these rules, it could absolutely move the effective date of the new rules further back.

Over a month ago Lieutenant Colonel Long submitted a swore affidavit in court warning the military of what was happening to army personnel.
“Numerous Soldiers and DOD civilians have told me of how they were sick, bed-ridden, debilitated, and unable to work for days to weeks after vaccination. I have also recently reviewed three flight crew members’ medical records, all of which presented with both significant and aggressive systemic health issues. Today I received word of one fatality and two ICU cases on Fort Hood; the deceased was an Army pilot who could have been flying at the time. All three pulmonary embolism events happened within 48 hours of their vaccination… The subject matter of this Motion for a Preliminary Injunction and its devastating effects on members of the military compel me to conclude and conduct accordingly as follows…”.
“That this Court should grant an immediate injunction to stop the further harm to all military personnel to protect the health and safety of our active duty, reservists and National Guard troops”

The MAGA medical group that spent the pandemic pushing horse paste and malaria meds as quack COVID cures has a new crusade: suing the Pentagon to stop its vaccine mandate. The lawsuit, first filed on behalf of Army and Marine Corps staff sergeants, has since enlisted the support of an Army lieutenant colonel and flight surgeon to help argue their case.
Lt. Col. Theresa M. Long, who serves as the brigade surgeon for the Army’s 1st Aviation Brigade, filed an affidavit late last week in support of the suit’s motion to block the vaccine mandate, arguing against the requirement based in part on her (false) belief that “all persons who have received a Covid 19 Vaccine are damaged in their cardiovascular system in an irreparable and irrevocable manner.”
Long testified on behalf of a group who are questioning the draconian power grab by the Democrat Biden administration:
The legal effort faces long odds in overturning Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin’s order directing the armed services mandate of COVID-19 vaccination for active duty service members. “We have a [Uniform Code of Military Justice] that really addresses all of the issues in the military and gives our leadership what they need to be able to enforce standards,” Austin said at a Senate hearing on Tuesday when questioned about the mandate. “Taking the vaccine is a requirement, and again I’ll just leave it at that.”
There has been no media on Johnson’s hearing as of this morning.
