The last major empire I can think of that came to an abrupt end was the Soviet Union.
I am not sure if Ronald Reagan and the US were the sole means of ending the empire but they were principal actors in its demise..
So, it looks as if they come to an end if another stronger empire with an enlightened leader acts to cause its downfall.
The Third Reich was also brought to an abrupt end by the Soviet Union and its allies.
It was not strong enough to resist.
Great Britain came to an end because it became a spent force after WWI and WWII.

The USA is a segregated country. The only issue that binds its diverse population is its universal dislike of the African American. Almost one in two of so-called “Latinos” voted for Trump! It would appear that those pesky, newly arrived immigrants are ardent followers of the Republican ideology.
The civil rights struggle of black Americans has been overlooked by these interlopers. It was the struggle of African-Americans that paved the way for these new immigrants and facilitated their accessibility to achieve the American dream.
We in Barbados should take note. Black Barbadians remain numerically the dominant population. And it should be kept that way. Mia would like to populate our island with an influx of new Barbadians. This group will be no different in their mindset to those in America. Demographics count. Lets keep Barbados black and save guard it specifically for the black Bajan both within and outside of Barbados.

Only today there was an interesting programme on BBC Radio Four, host ed by Anne McEvoy of the Economist, on different ethnicities – one of African heritage and a young woman of Carib bean heritage. Listen to it.
I would tape it and played it to all those Barbadians talking about we are all one. The two said in a much more sophisticated way than I could that the two histories are different and that we see Britain through different prisms. Very educative.

It was an impressive debate and I liked it’s format. It was noticeable how the Nigerian young man elevated UK based Nigerians and Ghanaians above other groups such as Somalians. He would have said the same about Caribbeans if he was not in a debate with this lady who herself was of Caribbean extraction.
He also highlighted that he did not have a slave background legacy which he argued gave him a different outlook towards racism then his brothers and sisters whose ancestors were enslaved.
Nigeria and Ghana participated and excelled in the slave trade. Yet he was unable to empathise with the struggle that these people faced as a group. He was only able to identify himself as an individual and was unwilling to involve himself in any group thought. He elevated himself above this.
These people are truly lost. Just look at Nigeria. Their people are desperate to get out of their country. The number of Nigerians and Ghanaians who are involved in prostitution throughout most of Western Europe is staggering.
And this man has the arrogance to place himself and his people above other blacks whom he probably believes are inferior. His adversary was excellent.
Things in Barbados are not easy. However, our quality of life far exceeds countries such as Nigeria. I believe in Pan Africanism but it should be a two way street. Let us be careful with which countries we chose to build a relationship with.

The clear trend is that in the states not declared, the absentee votes is strongly in favor of Biden hence using this logic… Biden will win Arizona and Nevada which is game over for Trump. The next story is how much of that vote will overturn Trumps’ lead in Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina which had been shrinking in all 3. If Biden can flip these states then the Presidential Race is not looking as close as it was last night. It isn’t a landslide victory but Biden is socking it to Trump. Trump clearly has white redneck America and the deluded latinos in Florida on his side. If Biden had won Texas and or Florida along with the states he is getting now I would have considered it a landslide Biden victory

Pennsylvania is now reporting on 83% of the votes cast.
Biden has been able to reduce his deficit by 200K
He needs to reduce it further by 472,623 but if the figures are right only 543,724 are left to be counted.
He needs more than 80% of what is left.
In theory, Trump should win Pennsylvania.

The number of votes now counted is estimated at 90%.
So Let’s do the math this time and see what happens..
Biden now has the deficit down to 184,397 and 691,407 remain to be counted.
Trump has 3,203,530 and Biden 3,019,133
Total votes cast given 90% counted is 6,914,070
When I did the math on 83%, the total votes cast was 6,796,546 and .5,641,133 had been counted.
So somehow between then and now, an extra 117,524 have appeared!!
Now, these could be votes postmarked 3rd November.
Now, let’s take a look at Trump’s votes in 2020 vs 2016!!
