This video shared widely on social media raises doubt in the minds of some that the truth surrounding the death of 44 year old Natalie Crichlow is being suppressed by the authorities. The Commissioner of Police Tyrone Griffith confirmed in a press release no accelerant was detected from the post mortem process and  likely cause of death was as a result of a gas cylinder which exploded.

Further comment is therefore required from the police to clarify the matter.

  1. As people have been pointing out, not all accelerants are detectable especially when you have no FORENSICS EXPERTS on the island in fire or anything else…….apparently ya COP is not even aware of that….and even when the forensics labs and experts are top notch, they are people who know what to use to avoid detection…right in Barbados..the criminals are smarter than the cops…unless the cop is a criminal…

..and a forensics lab that is not exactly fit for purpose as pointed out by president Mia as soon as she was elected…it just exists and most everything has to be sent AWAY for analysis

am too tired to even point out the other inaccuracies in that press conference…later for that…

i will let others make the points..

Mia was not yet born when Gerald Bull, Carlton Brathwaite and Angela Cole was in charge of Harp at (Rockhall, St. Philip and Time Bottom). Elton and Elliott were still at HC. I used to fly with “Dippa” Barrow when Ted Went was the manager at Seawell Airport. Mia’s grand father (“Rugged”) was not even in the loop about Harp. Dr. Basil Skinner and a Mr. Coppin from office equipment Geddy’s Grant, pretty well ran The Light Airplane Club. Do not expect too much from Mia until she is brought up to speed. After Gerald Bull was assassinated and Carlton Brathwaite died, every thing went hush-hush. The squatters started back in the 80”s and will be an expense that Mia had not foreseen when she was Owen’s right hand “man”. If Trump gets pressure from IATA, Barbados may see a drop in air traffic from U.S, U.K and Canada. Mia has to OK all news’ releases and she has very little help from informed people because most of them have passed. Tyrone Griffith is even less informed and no help can be expected from Dottin. Tough times lye ahead for The “Rock”. Please do not publish my name. Confidential.

  4. David
I note that the lady said he threw gas on her. Please tell me how she would have determined it was gas? Smell? 🤐

  5. If a person threw a flammable liquid on you and lit it, you would describe it as gas. You wouldn’t really care about being exact… and if they threw something that ate away your skin, you would say acid…

    I understand that much

  6. @enuff

The police needs to fill the blanks the recording has created.

  7. If you don’t know how to differentiate accelerants, you will call anything flammable gas, especially if ya trying to get out of a burning environment….some accelerants are odorless and undetectable, some are very pungent and so strong you should wear a face mask when working with them….and they are strong enough to smell like gas, anyone who has not worked with them, will not know the difference.

  8. Two many holes in the COP story inclusive of what the police stated in the news
Too many holes the Natlie story fits snuggly like a glove on the hands of the COP
The COP understandable is under pressure to control crime which would statistically show lower murders and violence
But this way under a highly fueled cover up
    No way jose No way
    Garbage in garbage out

  9. Also my questions to the police investigators how come they would take the brothers statements as the truth but did not speak to Natalie to double check on what she knew about the cooking of food
The video shows a woman fully alert and wanting to tell what happened to her
She never mentioned her brothers being around but made known that a man in a white car was the assailant
So how it is that the police placed these brothers at the scence of a crime and why

  10. Waru aka abigail de Salemite cum chemical expert

List the odourless accelerants and also tell BU if the forensics lab in its current state has the capacity to test for accelerants or not since you seem to know a lot bout the lab. #diswillnotbeabackandforth

    Theogaz
Really? And the people around her helping? You really read my comments just to respond not to understand. Man I dun!

  11. As for the cctv video unless the investigators have a surviellence video that records 24 hr video surrounding the house
It is highly impossible for investigating authorties to know when the assailant entered the home and by what means
This case is looking like a huge cover up one that would make the COP nose longer than Pinocchio

  12. Ah too tired to deal with ya cover up backside, but i know excellarant because i have worked with them, i dont have to list shit..

YOU..list the amount of lies that were TOLD AT THAT PRESS CONFERENCE..

no one is accusng me of anything…yardfowl..

@Mariposa August 17, 2019 6:34 PM “Also my questions to the police investigators how come they would take the brothers statements as the truth but did not speak to Natalie.”

The likely reason is that since she was seriously injured, she was likely sedated as soon as she got to the hospital. And to reduce the risk of infection [always a problem with burn patients] she was likely not allowed visitors, including visits from the police.

  14. I would like to see these investigators before the CCJ panel of judges
The one question i would liked asked of these Keystone investigators is why they never questioned the victim
I know these buffoons answer would be priceless like ” her health would not permit” after which the judges ask “so what about the video” and how she speaks fluent a and well enough”
It would be interesting to hear the response coming from their serpentine lips while they become tongue twisted and pretend to forget or cant recall
The long and short all boils down to truthfulness and what steps did tge authorities take to avoid any doubt or contradiction in the public minds about this case

  15. SSS fully aware of medical portocol in these situation
However their is still a video that says police drop the ball
Explain to all and sundry why the investigators overlook the video statement for evidence or to be taken as evidence from the woman
I meaning it is clear as daylight that the woman health was not at all degraded to such a point where she could not communicate when the police arrived on the scence

  16. While in training at the police academy or all phases relating to crime and violence
The students are specifically taught to collect all forms of evidence at the crime scene
And forwhatever Barbados just can’t seem to get anything correct

This is disturbing for a few reasons

Let us do this slowly so that you people and Sheeple can follow.

1.All of the persons present at the time of the videoing of the aftermath CANNOT ALL BE LIARS.

2.While the video is a short video and does not show much of the environs, the noise level suggests that more than one person is there to witness (and smell) most accelerants

3.Her tank top down not seem to be burnt

    An odd thing though.

In the first video I saw her arm was burnt but now that one clicks on the video the arm has been removed from the video.

    Why is that?

If it’s a video to explore what happened, why cut the video?

Once a person has been burned their status does not remain static, the burning continues, and the patient becomes progressively worse, so that even though the lady could talk immediately after the incident, the heat would continue to penetrate her skin, making her sicker and sicker. Notwithstanding that police should collect all evidence, the priority at the time was rightly to get the lady into medical care.

I have long said that we, the governments and people of Barbados [your party too Mariposa] do not spend enough time nor enough money in training our police officers. We seem to want cheap and quick security. We deserve better. Our policemen and women deserve better. In the 21st century our basic training for police people should be at least 2 years. It is 6 months. Six month is not good enough.

We spend 5 years of taxpayers money training lawyers.

We spend 5 years of taxpayers training doctors.

We spend a minimum of 2 years of taxpayers money training elementary school teachers. And many teachers have a subject degree, plus a one year post graduate diploma in education, and perhaps master’s degrees as well. Most of this subsidized by the tax payers.

Can any of the bright boys and girls of BU tell me why we are only willing to pay for 6 months of training for our police? Your party too Mariposa.

  21. i have looked at that video countless times. it is evident that the lady appears in distress and pain. there seems to be little evidence of burns on her body (i believe i saw something on one side of her belly but from the video not her lower stomach and upper legs) but significant signs of burns on her right hand.

it is hard to tell her state of mind with all the shouting around her and the understandable hysterics in her voice. she was vague by saying”that man” but may have said more as one person was saying she knows the man in the white car or something of that nature. the decedent never said that but may have before the recording started. what is significant is that she said the man came over the paling, tried to strangle her and then threw gas on her and lit her whilst she was in her bed. difficult to tell that as they didnt seem to be primary significant burn marks on her body

    examine all the facts.

from the decedent’s utterance which is evidence as it would classify as excitable utterance- one of the exceptions to hearsay evidence-

a man climbs over an 8ft paling with gas. why? to steal, kill, burn the evidence of his crime

he enters, goes to the bedroom and finds the woman asleep or lying on her bed.

he tries to strangle her presumably to shut her up.

when that does not work he throws gas or some substance on her and sets her afire

he then takes the substance with him, scales the paling and leaves in a white car.

    what the police says-

video of the front of the house shows no one entering or leaving

decedent was preparing a meal for a visit

man hearing shout kicked down a bit of the paling and entered and rescued woman

    he saw no one leaving

no signs of entry besides paling damage by rescuer

fire investigator says fire appear to originate in kitchen as they discovered a damage gas cylinder connector and burn food in a pot

no signs of flammable substance on woman, clothing and or bed.

man presumably the accused person was interviewed and released without charge.

    things to consider-

the woman is telling the truth becos she would not lie. there is a presumption that at facing the prospect of death a person is honest and truthful- but is that really so? suppose that woman was cooking and fell asleep. she suddenly awoke, sprang up and ran to the kitchen. in the meantime the pot boiled over damaging the gas nozzle which exploded just as she got there. would explain the burns on her arm and part of her stomach area? maybe, maybe not?

where did the man park the white car? presumably somewhere near where climbed over the paling and where the rescuer entered, right? but the rescuer saw no one leave and no car. but he could have missed the car and the man may have been long gone by the time he got there. or the car and the man were in another area.

police did not interview the decedent- usually where there is the possibility of imminent death and a victim is conscious enough to give a statement police will take one often called a dying declaration. in this case i would imagine the victim would have been under heavy sedation and that would have been impossible. it would have been nice for police to ask questions to understand what really went on but by their very nature dying declarations are short and to the point with little room for questions- imminent death.

in this case her utterances recorded on video if the video is accepted in evidence and i believe her utterances could qualify as evidence under the res gestae exception provided that they were deemed to be devoid of concoction because she was so emotionally overpowered she was honest and truthful. could we really say so? what if she was dreamt the whole thing? what if she concocted that story to cover her negligence?

    the police cover up-
so having learnt of this complaint police attended the hospital, the scene and canvassed for witnesses.

they interviewed and recorded statements from the rescuer and others who attended the victim

they viewed video footage- no one entered or left residence from what they saw

a fire investigator examined the house and looked for a cause of the fire etc- fire started in kitchen

victim received a call from her child’s british care giver who was coming to visit her and she was preparing a meal for them

police interviewed the presumable suspect and released him

a forensic person examined the victim and her clothing and found no trace of flammable substance

the police will have examined the video of the victim

bearing all this in mind, the police along with all the above then engaged in a coverup.

    Excellent contribution!

One of the finest from the Simpleton who believes that men are from Mars.

As it stands a ‘cadet’ police officer (constable) is nothing more than a security guard engaged by the State as is witnessed at the gate to the GG’s res.

The starting salary for a police officer (note this applies to both men and women) should be around Bds $50,000 p/a with some generous allowances thrown into the remuneration pot.

Moreover, the initial training should not be less than 12 months with a qualification equivalent to at least NVQ 3; with the option to undergo an additional 6 to 12 months on-the-job’ training to achieve the NVQ level 4 in order acquire a fairly in-depth knowledge of the relevant areas of Law.

With such ‘sophisticated’ training and the increasing use of surveillance technology there would be a reducing need for greater ‘manpower’ and costly mobile equipment.

Simple Simone, what about that proposal?

Or do you think the entire force should be ‘manned’ by wo(e)men to deal with the ‘all-violent’ adult males out there threatening the existence of your peace-loving society?

    @ Greene.

De ole man is following you loud and clear.

Because in the absence of all other verifiable evidence all that is left is facts.

De ole man sort of still at the point of flammable liquid, smell, damage to clothing on victim, fire damage, explosion on site, damage by explosion/fire

Once those issues are definitively addressed by believable sources i.e. the Royal Baygon Police Force not necessarily being one of them, then one can entertain a theory of explosion on site which the deceased may or may not have contributed to.

    Remember “trust but ascertain”

  25. I wonder if there are any consequences for the tourism sector. It is the only remaining industry in Barbados and the only institution that works properly.

  26. Two people are in their element here, WURA the conspiracy queen, who, without stopping to think, would rush off to shout cover-up, especially if Jacky Stewart says so.

Then there is Mariposa who also without stopping to think, would say the government instructed the police to cover-up the case, because it is politically expedient for her to do so. It would give her a chance to score political points, because the government can’t do nothing right in her books.

I want to ask these two to tell us why would the government and police want to cover up a simple, uncomplicated case like this and what would they have to gain by doing so?

Are you trying to tell us that the assailant is a popularly known person and the government instructed the police to cover up the case to protect his identity?

Why would the police go through all this trouble to cover-up this case, when they could have simply confirmed the intruder story and say they are looking for a suspect.

  27. @Robert

There is nothing wrong with individuals raising questions even if they do so for the wrong reasons. The two factors feeding the doubt in this matter is the video recorded of Crichlow before she died and the reluctance of the Police to confirm her death for no apparent reason- for which the COP was upbraided by the PM. The inconsistencies do not mean the Police investigation is flawed, just that it raises questions. It will be up to the COP to remove the doubt asap.

  28. Govt/s has a history of being untruthful
My mind reflects on the Myrie Shanique case when all stories presented by the authorities side cast doubt on Myrie story and painted her as a liar.
Why would the deceased if burnt will cooking explain with clarity that a man attacked her.
What would be her reason for stating such an untruth
Btw it doesnt only take a liquid to cause a fire lighting of fire can be started by use of cigarette lighter
Also only a 24hr surveillance could tell the complete story of who entered the house
A question of relevance which courts and judges will take into consideration in such cases

  29. There are questions to be asked however to rubbish the investigation as outlined by the police which includes input from other agencies is also not advisable. Agencies like the medical examiner, fire service etc. We should inquire but do so responsibly. Any one passing by the house will see the kitchen is where the fire occurred and there is the point of entry by those in the area where the galvanize was ripped away.

  30. Oh shoot, I forgot the paranoid schizophrenic conspiracy king, Piece the Legion 👹…… sorry, Legend (he really is a demon) and his chief of police 👮

Maybe de grandson will do a cartoon on this case, which will say Mugabe Amin Mottley and the Royal Bagon Police Force covered-up murder in the dictatorship.

Then he will send his chief of police to come in to wish us a good day, followed by dropping remarks and to threaten the two rented mules and boring Goering the poochlicker because they don’t jump on the Legion’s……. sorry, Legend’s bandwagon. Now this is what you call a real dictatorship.

All hail the Legion….am sorry, Legend.

  31. In case some question the position of the blogmaster, where there is wanton disrespect for law and order anarchy will follow.

  32. @ David BU

Read Greene’s contribution. He is correct and it’s the most reasonable response so far.

I am hearing 2 stories. One, the intruder doused Crichlow with a flammable substance and then lit the HOUSE.

Two, the intruder doused Crichlow with a flammable substance and then lit HER.

Some people watch too much tv crime shows. Mariposa is blaming the government, but not the police. It was a police investigation not government.

Only an idiot like Mariposa would say “Also only a 24hr surveillance could tell the complete story of who entered the house,” when everyone knows the reason for security cameras is to provide around the clock surveillance.

Now she is suggesting a cigarette lighter could have been used to light the fire. 😂😂😂

  33. Boy you talking shite about surveillence video not all cameras carry a 24hr video recording
A question which would be of relevence in such cases where doubt takes precedent. Idiot
I have cameras and sometimes the
Video records for a certain amount of time then goes to still footage

  34. How do you know what is the configuration of the surveillance system that is next door? The point here is the the recording for the relevant period was captured and reviewed by the authorities. Obviously the recording would have been brought to the attention of police by the other party and can be corroborated.

  35. Your intent to put words in my mouth goes to the same intent as how authorties come to conclusion in this case by avoiding the elephant in the room
That being the woman statement and witnesses statement which police told news media
All that remains left is finding the whole truth
Authorities in Barbados held out from telling the public what they knew
However authorities was forced to speak because of bbc coverage of the story .
    Now all knows why
This story will not die a sudden death out of respect for the woman character and dignity
Calling the deceased woman a liar is all but a call for legal litigation

  36. They are LYING there is much, much more to it that they are trying to cover up, but it will all come out in the wash…now that the information is coming out. Scotland Yard news to get off their backsides on this.

The information floating around on FB is accurate.

Too exhausted to say anything else and this needs to be a THOROUGH INVESTIGATION going forward..AND NOT…by Barbados’ police…they screwed it up already.

  37. David the same question u asked of me about surveillance video used in the authorities findings can be asked of u
    How do u know
Also how do u know the authorities are being truthful
I also asked u why would the lady make up a story of being attacked if she was cooking
The authorities has yet to explain the inconsistency between what the deceased said and their findings
Also when did the authorties have the findings and why did they not release them

  38. An intelligent judge would have 2 questions of the police.

Where did they get the story that she was strangled and set on light from, when they SAID they never spoke to Natalie… but that is the story the police gave the Barbados media before they changed it..

And why did the police NEVER mention the video..with her statement..

Why did they not contact THE FAMILY..to let them know she had passed away….among others things that SCOTLAND YARD NEEDS TO LOOK INTO..

And why did they not take the fact that someone HAD THRESpATENED TO BURN THE HOUSE DOWN….SERIOUSLY..

The neighbor was telling the truth.

ah can’t wait fir the next press conference.

And why are they now refusing to release the body without Natalie body without a passport, dumbasses a corpse is cargo, it only needs paperwork not a goddamn passport.

Yall breaking up my rest with shite and i will make you pay for it later.

  39. The blogmaster is asking reasonable questions without casting wild accusations. The original story was that Crichlow was strangled and doused with an accelerant. This came from a family member, the post mortem has exposed this position.

The only forceable entry was the removal of the galvanize on the yard perimeter, how would an intruder have entered? Why did the police not share in about the time of death with the press. Was it a case if delaying the bad news until after crop over?

So you see, the blogmaster is asking questions without assuming to know or pontificate about matters we are not qualified like others.

  40. THREATENED…

  41. I usually start my weekend comments by wishing Barbados a beautiful day,
It seems as if this is resented by some.
I was tempted to stop but i just feel the urge to shout …

Good morning Barbados, I want everyone of you to have a blessed and beautiful day. May it only get better as the day progresses.

  42. Was going to pass on the comments but I decided to put the three statements together.
I am hoping someone can look at the three statements and tell me how third one is related to the other two… I am trying to understand

    (1)
    *****His complete statement
    “David
I note that the lady said he threw gas on her. Please tell me how she would have determined it was gas? Smell? 🤐”
    (2)
    ****My response
“If a person threw a flammable liquid on you and lit it, you would describe it as gas. You wouldn’t really care about being exact… and if they threw something that ate away your skin, you would say acid…

    I understand that much”

    (3)
    ***His response
    “Theogaz
Really? And the people around her helping? You really read my comments just to respond not to understand. Man I dun!”

Can someone tell me how third (3) one is related to the other two (1 & 2), I dun

  43. “I wonder if there are any consequences for the tourism sector. It is the only remaining industry in Barbados and the only institution that works properly.”

was that the reason for the COVER UP…that tourism shite needs an overhaul anyway, let it CRASH…so we can GET RID OF YOU CRABS.

  44. A blessed good morning to Robert Goering (who seems to want my chief of police job).

  45. It’s unfortunate that the COP…allowed himself to be bullied into a press conference…BEFORE HE WAS READY…

  46. https://barbadostoday.bb/2019/08/17/ppdd-predicts-tough-economic-times-ahead-for-barbados/

The article delivered a lot less than I expected. If you are stepping into the ring, don’t pull punches. The jugular or the knockout punch must be your sole objective.

Some bloggers on BU give a more extensive list of the problems confronting Barbados.

  47. David the deceased woman stated in the video he tried to choke me i never heard the woman say she was doused but he throw the gas at her and lit it
Now listening to her comments one cannot be absent of such facts and not take them into consideration
As for what was thrown at her to start the fire authorties has yet to say what kind of liquid from the food which she was cooking was found on her clothing
Also tell what kind of damage was done to the utensils and what utensils was used
Also if the fire started in the kitchen area and in what part of the house was the decesed when the fire started
It is also obviuos that talk of cooking conjures the mind to belive that instanteously most of her burns would be mostly in the upper torso around the face which is not seen in the video
The deceased story is more palatable in that the assailant might have hurridely set her clothes on fire while she was still in bed which could have well started at the lower part of her body and in her rushed to quell the fiery attack she used her hands in doing so

  48. Police credibility is not a thing

  49. Believe what you want. We are within our right to ask the authorities for clarification, what we are not to do is run with speculation which some of you are hell bent on doing because it puts Barbados in a bad light. Some of us love the little ROCK, love it to death and will try to prosecute the issues fairly.

  50. Where did they get the story that she was strangled and set on light from, when they SAID they never spoke to Natalie… but that is the story the police gave the Barbados media before they changed it..(Quote)

The police would have interviewed people at the crime scene who probably gave them that story on the basis of what Crichlow told them (the people at the scene) and the police ran with it at the initial stage of the investigation.

You should think for yourself and stop relying on Stewart and others on social media to think for you and running to BU with it.

Mariposa you are not only an idiot but a cool as well to by a security system that cannot give 24 hour service. But we all know you are lying.

BTW, none of you are yet to say why you believe the government and police want to cover up this simple, uncomplicated case.
