Don’t cry for him Barbados

The truth is he never loved you

During these wild years

He kept his promises to the DEMS

So you keep your distance!”

Perhaps a rewrite of the famous song about Eva Peron is in order with the above sentiments expressed by Barbadians. Clearly the bromance that never was, between the Minister of Finance of Barbados and the Governor of the Central Bank of plotting and overseeing the economic demise of Barbados is over.

Barbados Today reported that the fall out between the Governor and the Minister of Finance was with regards to the Governor’s inability to explain the country’s diminishing economic fortunes and rising administrative tensions within the Central Bank.

Again perhaps the economy has taken its final turn for the worse and is on its official death bed and the dreaded devaluation near. The blame game is underway with the Minister of Finance trying to squarely push the responsibility for failure of the economy on the Governor. The Governor clearly does not wish to be the fall guy. His strange action to avert blame from himself by appealing to the Court of Law against his dismissal is indeed cause for comment.

On one hand we had a governor who was a willing accomplice of this administration at every turn for the last 8 years producing alternate facts in speech, actions and data in support of the policies of the government. It is not that some of his economic policies were successful. He has a long list failures and unethical practices. He sold junk bonds to an unsuspecting public, scrubbed the Central Banks website of data and frequently produced data to paint the economy in a positive light. His action of holding $5 million in the Central Bank for Leroy Parris was illegal. He incessantly printed money, offloaded funds to Bjorn Bjerkham who should never have been appointed to any public board in Barbados. Let us also not forget his attempt to practice nepotism. Then it was the matter of the many economic downgrades that affected the country’s credit rating.

He supported and never admonished the Minister of Finance for his reckless economic onslaught against the people of Barbados. The Governor’s actions not only affected the economy but in extension endangered the livelihood of many Barbadians as it was also indirectly responsible for job loss. He did not perform as a Governor of a Central Bank but as a piggy bank for the Minister of Finance. His actions created capital flight and a scarcity in foreign exchange. Our currency has already been devalued in the eyes of our eastern Caribbean neighbours’ and Guyana.

In another place and another time his actions against the state would be tantamount to treason. This now reminds one of Cardinal Wolsey’s fall from grace when he failed to secure the kings wishes. So what did Mr. Sinckler so desperately want that the Governor could not provide that led to his firing? Was it more than what was stated above?

He has damaged his credibility as a practicing economist and brought shame to the title of Governor of a Central Bank. He sold out the livelihood of the people of Barbados and on reflection the People of Barbados should be taking him to court. His actions are at loggerheads with his profession he has not provided sound economic advice to support the economic growth of Barbados through monetary policy. That is the sole purpose of his job.

No one should be even a bit unhappy to see him removed as Governor of the Central Bank. He is now like a product on the shelf that is long past its expiry date. It will be a sad day if the Court rules in favour of the Governor of the Central Bank as it would be, even at this late stage legalizing the economic death of the island of Barbados by giving an unfit Governor the right to continue to destroy the economy.

Piece….they are all panicky, which is a good thing, the ministers and politicians ought to read the comments on barbadostoday and nationnews, they will notice that no one is afraid of, impressed with or by any of DBLP politicians….or the newer ones either for that matter…

….the jig and scams and deceit are now a waste of energy their energy, no one will ever believe them again apart from their stupid yardfowls, after 9 years of BU, some years of BFP, couple years of ND….millions of shared comments in the island, regionally and internationally and these fools dont believe that everyone in the world…outside of the natives in the jungle cut off from civilization…..knows all about them and what they do on the island….well they would be more retarded than we thought….that ship been sailing for years…lol

As for the known crooked business people and dishonest lawyers on the island, if they dont know that there are numerous ways to share information on and offline with others regionally and internationally about their criminal activities …..they themselves are even more stupid than we thought…

like I told the clown Anonymous this morning….who obviously did not think his little speech all the way through until I pointed out the obvious….there is no Barbados to take back….all the crimes and thefts and cheating, lies and deceit against the majority, has reached it’s limits.

Wait until they hear what’s in store for them…..brought on by their own dishonesty.

  2. @ Well Well and Consequences

No truer words have been spoken about the new generation and the electorate to be seduced in this coming general election

You said “…the ministers and politicians ought to read the comments on barbadostoday and nationnews, they will notice that no one is afraid of, impressed with or by any of DBLP politicians…”

and this is precisely it NOYONE IS AFRAID OF THEM

And that is why Mugabe is keeping a low profile

THis is almost 9 months that their site has been saying ” We are working on our new site. Please sign up for alerts….”

NINE MONTHS!! and this is what the official site of the Opposition to/of the Government of Barbados is posting??

    You cant be serious!!!

But the fact that you highlighted is that more people are unafraid to say what is on their mind

But what is even more incredible about this is that the so called media and newspapers, where previously they would moderate everything and not pring statements that are contrary to the Party in Power or the Party that they Support they are now so frighten of Barbados Undergrounds’ following that now they printing everything!!!

    Just to get a following!!!

Dem doan print do ole man doah causing i din say tings that was complimentary of Vivianne so I doan get print and since you boy harris is Mia boy he ent going print de ole man neider….heheheheheh

  4. @Gabriel February 17, 2017 at 9:46 AM “Further,Worrell,in spite of his friend William Skinner’s views, has displayed an autocratic disposition in his management style and has succeeded in alienating very senior officials of the Bank viz:Cliviston,Bernard and Janis.”

Did Worrell’s lawyer Gregory Nicholls say that Worrell should not be treated like a yard boy? If Nicholls said so then I absolutely agree with him. In fact not even yard boys should be treated like yard boys.

But my question to those who are not as simple as I am…

Were Harold, Cliviston, Bernard and Janis treated like yard boys?

    And if so by whom?

  5. One cannot dispute the govenor handling of his is fiscal responsibility to the country in the early years when the country was under tremendous stress in part to weak global performance world wide.
The governors hands in steering the country off a fiscal cliff left behind by the past blp administration lead by his fiscal advice to govt during the early years of the dlp goverance cannot be dismissed or underestimated was prudent and wise in keeping the country stable .
However the Governor of Central bank is an employee of govt and as a public servant
is subjected to rules and standards.
in as much in his recent utterances although seemingly to give a clearer view of govts decision right or wrong could have given a perception which could have sent a darken message to international financial markets at a time when the country was digging itself out of a series of economic malaise over the pass seven years
The governor erred very poorly in judgement when he use hot button language on the forum to present a message about govt actions rather than diplomacy at best which could and would have been well presented in delivering his response to questions asked

  6. The central bank does not deal with fiscal policy.

Simple…Worrell is not being treated like a yard boy, he is being treated like the yardfowl he showed the people on the island he is by doing every little thing the government wanted him to do, to ruin the economy and deceive the people….that is how yardfowls are treated when their usefulness is over.

@Intelligent AC I hope and not the other AC Cunt

You are willing to go right down to the baller for an administration that is more of an enigma then a government practicing understanding and control in dealing with the current fiscal and dept mess. The jury is already out on what the BLP did during their 14 years of pilfering. What you do not seem to understand is that if the mess left by the BLP was indeed a mess, what the heck will you call the one by the DLP that has compounded the previous mess to a scale that is unprecedented? No amount of cast blame or look back at is going to help in this crisis.

Its amazing how you loyal sons and daughters of the DLP can instantly turn on the Dr. Worrell just because he decided to redeem his old soul before the master of all souls. At least his redemption draweth nigh (although he deserves the DLP ass whipping that he getting at the moment). I wish I could say the same of Chris Sinckler, whose unfortunate tenure as Minister of Finance is doing more harm than good.

Since on about rules, I wonder if you are prepared to accept the fact that the same ministers of government are bounded by rules too. How are you going to explain the rule breaking antics of Lashley, Kellman, Lowe Low, Stuart and Sinckler. Do I need to point out which rules they have broken first before you provide justification to support the decision that they have made that goes against the financial rules? Speak to me Intelligent AC, I tend to listen to you all except if you decide to talk like the other AC cunt.

  11. Such an asinine response spoken by a speckled fowl who for the last seven years predictions have fell flat.
On the issue of reserves did not the blp borrowed millions of dollars under the magician Owen Arthur to shore up the reserves.
And did not Owen arthur call for the head of the Govenor of the central bank.
It beehoves to think that the blp yardfowls now belive that this issue would give them an easy pathway to be beneficiaries of the next election when in fact their administrative duties in good econmic times as managers of barbados economy were trophies of mishaps and mismagement

  12. You JACKASS, if the BLP did not leave two million foreign reserves What would be the situation today?

Didn’t you predict Trump would lose? That is all it was a prediction based on a read of the tea leaves. The DLP won by two seats with rampant vote buying in play. What the hell do you know except what you read online.

  13. Hal, you’re a much younger and brighter man than I, so I won’t take offence if you dismiss this.

As one ages, mental energy becomes much harder to replenish than the physical version and that’s why I find much of what goes on on this medium as wasteful and so I come here like my visits to the doctor—at intervals.

Sparring all day long with cowardly scribes like Bush Tea, Dribbler, Well Well, Piece and the long list of digital ghosts can sap one’s mental energy. I don’t have as much of it as I did 40 years ago, so I take regular breaks.

I must hand it though to folk like Jeff, Alvin, William, Heather, Anthony, Bernard, Vincent, Walter, David, George, Hal and a few others.

They are the energizer bunnies of Barbados Underground—they have never-ending sources of mental and physical (to do all that typing!) energy.

I like to know to whom I’m talking. After all, if you know me, why can’t I know you? Look me in the eye and talk to me.

Thank you, Dribbler, for the back-handed compliment. I’m so sorry that you can’t step out into the fresh air and enjoy your true identity. You and the others are sensible people. Why are you so afraid? I can’t promise to be any less irritating.

Something is choking Piece Uh De Rock Yeah Right – INRI. What a silly nom-de-plume?

He would be glad to breathe the fresh air of his true identity but something is holding him back. It is a four-letter word called FEAR.

He does not seem to lack the mental equipment to get it out. Only if he could stop dreaming all day and night about the Spanish Inquisition and the Night of the Long Knives. What next? Kristallnacht?

I can only share with him what someone smarter than both of us once observed: “Youth, like spring, is an over-praised season.”

In other words, it is short. Don’t knock old age, my friend; if you survive, it might be your only refuge.

    Am I right Alvin?

  14. Chuckle…..the govt operatives have returned with the official line…..the once great man has turned senile and placed Bim in jeopardy……..hahahaha

In the face of advice from every quarter confirming the latest stance of the GoCB and the unequivocal statements of the dire situation that Bim is in with one forecast of 90 days before all fall down based on the last CB report, this govt is ostritch like burying its head in the sand trying to start projects and sell assets that will not save the country in the long term…..although it may guarantee a third term one which will be even more fraught than this one…..lets see what the sheeple will do.

Here is a piece of advice from the ‘bee’ in your bonnet of false weave.

Do like the other A C (Alvin Cummins your party’s chipmunk known for eating yellow pimpernel) and lie low until you are removed head first from the upcoming politically fatal accident scene.

What you and your associates are doing to your own dear loving party is nothing short of self-immolation to prop up an image that has been totally smashed by the iconoclastic acts of a bunch of fumbling fools behaving like a pack of political wild dogs feeding on an emaciated calf left behind even by hungry hyenas scavenging the investors’ junk yard called Barbados.

The DLP is full of aging members, not so? Do you think what your deceitful lying party has inflicted over the past 8 years on the aspiring youth would ever act as a magnet to rekindle in any way the spirit left by EWB and Wynter A Crawford?

Soon from now you and what would be left of your electorally destroyed limping party would be exiled in the electoral wilderness as long as the damage done to the psyche of the current youth is permanently seared in their memories.

Now here is where the chances of a new kid on the political “bloc” can rise to the occasion and call itself the “NBLP”:
The New Barrow Liberation Party. Why not be one of its founder members, Ac? The other AC is on his way out to join the ‘original’ founding fathers.

  17. @Hal

    Nonsense!

Given the role of BU would you expect David Ellis, Donville Inniss, Mia Mottley, Roy Morris to list a few ‘hypothetical ‘ examples to post using their names?

  19. People who assume noms-de-plume to express and exchange simple, ordinary and harmless ideas confine themselves in the stuffy dungeons of their own prisons.

They are not in the same category as Galileo, Joan of Arc, Thomas A Beckett, Thomas More or Socrates.

  20. Mr Blogmaster, you are being highly provocative and naughty at 10:41.

@HalAustin, don’t understand your point “I am sure if we knew who he really is the lies will be amplified.”

Frankly, based on the ‘success’ of Trump there appears now to be little public pain to lying so boldly. He continually amplifies his ‘fish stories’ and enough people enjoy them immensely. Are you saying that Chad45 would enjoy the same joyous hustle if we knew his name?

And @CarlMoore… as I said in my post and say respectfully to my colleague @Pieces in disagreement you do write well…when you are not doing your irritating screed about anonymity that is … well maybe not so much here as in your other life.

And let me also say that based on what I have read of the the man @Pieces you are actually quite on point to suggest ” Only if he could stop dreaming all day and night about the Spanish Inquisition and the Night of the Long Knives. What next? Kristallnacht?”

He does not have to dream it. The man has seen it all so he has written here before. You missed all dat!

But then again he says that you are here on a mission to subvert by exposing….I tend to believe him. Tally-ho.

We are in this forum debating the politics BUT there is a level of gun play going down every night many in this forum are blissfully ignorant.

  23. David,
Yes, every one and more should identify themselves. They have nothing to hide. What has a politician or journalist to hide by identifying themselves with new ideas? Both journalists and politicians trade in their names.

  24. @ Hants
So exactly which part of the problem of the monument being dedicated on the Garrison do you not fully grasp….?

  25. @Hal

Your position is mired in a simplistic view. You are entitled to your view.

By the way, you head would ”grow” f you knew some of the nome de plumes you have been butting comments.

  26. Yes all public officials are subjected to rules and standards
However as i stated the Govenor of the Central Bank is more subjected than joe Q public in his utterances when it comes to fiscal matters as it is all well and good to be truthful but in doing so one should measure the impact or damaged which can be done to the social and economic enviroment
He must maintain a state of balance using diplomacy as a guide and not be influenced by noise and clutter emitting from varying political quarters

  27. @ David
At which point will you become fed up with the doltish jackasses who keep harping on the idiocy about nom de plumes? Even they themselves must by now realise how stupid and ignorant they sound ….. but more importantly, by seeking to distract from intelligent and meaningful discussions with their trite shiite….over, and over, and over … is just plain BAD MANNERS.

Invite the jackass to write a blog on the matter – let’s see if he can manage more than a paragraph on his only topic of record.

Bushie proposes that it is time to treat the Carl Moore jackass just like Jack(ass) Boremann and just delete any off-topic shiite that he writes in future …on pseudonyms…

  28. It is not simplistic. I have spent a working life in journalism and have spoken to people both on and off the record, including senior people in Barbados.
There is a difference between a journalist protecting a source and a journalist or politician coming on BU and planting stories anonymous. One is ethical the other is dishonest, no matter who he or she is.
You gave me a list of names, not a single one has any legitimate reason not to identify him or herself on BU – nor should we encourage them.
When I edited Financial Adviser, anonymous letters making personal attacks were always rejected. We got on to the authors and asked them to identify themselves, if they refused we dumped the letters.
Do not use my paper to settle personal scores, that was the pinciple. All my staff knew that.

  29. So what is your point yes trump lose.however my comments were influenced by pollsters just like how yours are being influenced by various interest alligned to the blp party.
Btw did you not have an ongoing poll on Bu going into the last election which gave the blp an overwhelming victory against the dlp.
So who are you to bring arguments of engagments about winners or losers knowing that your credibility was shot to smitterings in the last election with your failed predictions

  30. @ Carl Moore (or is that Carl-More-of-the-Same-Shyte)

“…Jun 19, 2013 – (New York, June 20, 2013) – The Vietnamese government should unconditionally release recently arrested bloggers and end physical attacks …”

“..Jan 24, 2017 – “Persecution of bloggers is unacceptable regardless of their nationality. As far as I know, Alexander Lapshin has not written anything which …”

You Carl Moore are on record for excoriating one Baffy when he was exposed by his so called friend in what could only be a Judas-esque betrayal.

All that ingrunce bout “…People who assume noms-de-plume to express and exchange simple, ordinary and harmless ideas confine themselves in the stuffy dungeons of their own prisons…” is psychobabble that might cause a lesser person to say “let me expose myself here and test “the More a Monkey Climbs” theory

The modus of ostracizing anyone who speaks out against the Party in My Parliament – the PIMPs, and political whores, is not specific to Barbados, it is a characteristic of man to become antagonistic to/against their detractors.

You and I are not Jesus who will turn the other cheek.

While you do not post here on BU every day given your statement about your youthfulness and disposition to write and to contend with these younger lions, the fact is that you, like a junkie, read here every day, and are drawn to the bile, vomit and effluent of the very writes whom you direct your Anonymice remarks to.

It is a veritable love/hate relationship much like how Pornville inniss and Fumbles Stuart hate each others guts but expediency demands that the pretend to be Brothers in Arms when there is a public showing (a) to fool the public that there is camaraderie among the DLP (b) to fool the international agencies that there is congruence in the economic mayhem of the DLP’s governance and, most critically (c) to ensure that they get their pension and have the 10% reinstated

I will periodically send that gonorrhea dig at you, not because I delight in the unwise choices of your youth, but because I want you to recognise the parallels between “exposing one’s hand” to people and what is the everlasting result of doing such.

And, just to underscore my point about the dissimilarities between you and Mr Hal Austin.

While he too is on the Anonymice train, he comes here and contributes to the discourse on the whole state of national affairs.

You conversely come here with one single chat every effing time “WHO ARE THE ANONYMICE?”

  31. @Hal

Again you are way too literal in your translation in response to the BU comment. You recall at school when doing languages we were cautioned about translating literally at the expense of forgetting the idiomatic. You may have the last word.

  32. David,
I assure you my head won’t grow. We need an open debate about Barbados and its future prosperity. No hiding behind nom de plumes.
How would you like it if you were a member of a party, government, news room and a colleague was sniping to the press about your every act or decision?
We need ethics in public life. If they do not want to identify themselves, then keep quiet. Do not deceive.
That is why the resident liar makes a fool of himself. I can tell you some corrupt things that go on in Barbados that will make your head grow.

  33. millertheanunnaki Avatar

    Now, Vamoose!

Be on you way and do not return until you are able to complete the ‘simple’ task o f exposing the people who contribute to the daily dose of piffle posted in the online tabloids of cowardly stupidity passing for journalism.

Then and only then would you, in your Quixotic zeal, ‘silence’ the noisy windmills of hot air of a fruitlessly unending mission to produce a “Quieter Barbados” that even your sidekick Sancho Panza aka the moor Hal A would be outrageously proud of achieving, even if not in yours or his lifetime.

  35. “Hal Austin February 18, 2017 at 8:12 AM #
The central bank does not deal with fiscal policy.”

isn’t this the crux of the matter? When ongoing deficits get larger, and therefore the debt, and the GoB doesn’t have the cash to cover its needs, the CB comes into play. It has to use monetary policy tools to pay for fiscal policy shortfalls. Hence, is not the CB dealing with fiscal policy. And hence why the GoCB finally stepped over the imaginary line and made comment on the deficit, which results from fiscal policy.

So you post your name but remain silent on corruption. Get a pseudonym and expose all.

  39. Northern,

You have said it yourself: the central bank deals with monetary policy, the minister of finance with fiscal policy.

  40. Jethro,
I am not t ht well read to be familiar with Spanish novels.

    @Theophilus

I say it all, but I do not name names. I am interested in policy, not destroying careers. That is the Bajan disease best summed up in “I know he, man; he ain’t nothing”.
I deal with issues, not personalities. It worries me when people indulge in vicious, aggressive, personal attacks over a difference of opinion.
A free market of ideas is to debate, challenge, confute – not be abusive with putrid nonsense because the persons opposes your views.
I will lose respect for any public person who hides behind a pseudonym to plant stories on discussion forums.
Keep your views to yourself if you do not want to defend them in public. That is the ethical position.

  41. Now Mr Austin,

Let me see if I have this correct.

In response to a blogger, one Theophillus REPEATING WHAT YOU SAID “…I can tell you some corrupt things in Barbados that would make your head grow…” your retort is “I deal with issues, not personalities. It worries me when people indulge in vicious, aggressive, personal attacks over a difference of opinion…”

So you would call any examination of “this corruption” of which you speak that would “make heads grow” to use your words “personal attacks” over a simple difference of opinion

I see. You equate corruption to a “difference of opinion”

And prosecution of that subject matter called “corruption” is not the discussion of “issue” but a vitriolic attack against personalities.

    I understand.

Any in that response you has assigned yourself your true rating for the ole man.

THis is sanctimonious shyte and, as De Ingrunt Word said earlier, you really ent much different from Carl Aussie More or Less (recovered from his medical condition)

  42. @HA
    No.
If one chooses to view the reverse, the controllers of fiscal policy are effectively controlling monetary policy, by forcing the hand of the CB.
Isn’t this what the GoCB said? I will provide the money, but I don’t like having to do thus, so please get your expenditures under control.
The distinction between fiscal and monetary becomes academic.

There is an academic and practical difference between fiscal and monetary policy. The central bank looks after monetary policy, the Treasury/Finance ministry fiscal policy. This is a statement of fact, not different interpretations.
