My heart grieves for this nation. It has suffered so much and yet the world continues on its merry way as though this country does not exist. France should hang its head in shame and also the USA. Where has all the money that was pledged to help Haiti after the earthquake, perhaps one of those who are running for the top job in the USA can answer this question.
Obama want thousands of immigrants from he Middle East to come to USA, but just recently scores of Haitians were deported back. This country needs help, but it seems noone cares. Can you imagine people still living in plastic tents since the earthquake, no privacy nothing.
The leaders of the world have no conscience.. As for France she has no heart.
The Seneglese leader invited some of the Haitians to come to Senegal after the earthquake. He sounded genuine. They would be able to assimilate since the French language is spoken in Senegal. They were offered agricultural land. I am sure if the government had encourage the people. Many would not be in the position they are in today. They are trying to get to USA who do not want them, but are unwilling to go to a country that seems to care about them.
Now with Hurricane Matthew the plight of these people will get worse.
The criminal French government needs to give back the money to Haiti that they were forced to pay for their freedom from slavery…all 100 years…they had to pay.
For those who may not know, Haiti is the first independent nation in the western hemisphere, they fought and spilled blood to be free, older than the US…and the people have paid for it ever since, because of their weak and many greedy, corrupt leaders.
Haiti’s weak leaders caused this ruination of their own people who started the ball rolling and loosened the grip of european slavery in the Caribbean
Weak leadership leads to disaster after disaster for the people of weak leaders.
The weak leaders in Barbados may want to take note.
The problem with Haiti is the Haitian people, or at the very least, the majority of the elites, who have repeatedly been accused of abusing the generosity and goodwill of the legions of do-gooders who have laboured mightily to improve economic conditions in the country.
Trust me, there have always been thousands of missionaries, aid workers, and foreign military teams struggling to turn the country around.
Nothing seems to work, and every generation of politicians repeats the mistakes of the previous generations.
Why build flimsy housing on steep, unterraced hillsides? Why build unreinforced concrete structures in earthquake zones? How difficult is it to arrange for the services of Cuban doctors?
The hemisphere seems to be waiting for Haiti to become a base for propagating jihadist extremism. The entire Caribbean is fertile.
@Chad99999
We live in a world where the deep rooted and systemic issues are burried under rhetoric. Just the other day peacekeepers left their germs in that impoverished country and to this day the UN and other global agencies have refused to adequately address the matter. It is this hypocrisy by the world’s elite that adds to the drag afflicting Haiti. The fact the plight of this island is not part of a continuous conversation piece in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean says plenty. Of course we react to events in the USA and N America with heightened interest.

@ Chad 99999
Barring the fact that haitians worship strange deities (whom my colleagues here will say are the correct gods of we black people, a discourse that de ole man will not direct the convo to this morning) I would like you to tell me, WHAT IS SO DIFFERENT ABOUT THE STATE THAT THE NIGGERS IN HAITI FIND THEMSELVES AND WE BAJANS?
Or for that matter niggers worldwide?
Barring the physical state of our homes as so called hurricane appropriate structures? what is the effing difference that might make one believe that their existences, flimsy housing and all, is any different or worse than our own?
Observe your words my man
“Nothing seems to work, and every generation of politicians repeats the mistakes of the previous generations…”
Tell me, what the eff is the difference?
Have to agree with Chad most of the underlying problems in Haiti is rooted incorruption something that all the money in the world cannot solve leaving in its wake worst devastation than matthew with a castrophic loss of trust both from within and without . The internal and external loss of casulaties are even harder to comprehend by some who belives that the world hates Haiti.
@ chad99999 October 5, 2016 at 5:40 AM
That might be one interpretation of the disasters plaguing Haiti.
Why not look at it from the Biblical perspective of a Moses or Daniel asking Mother Nature to return those lands to their original state and send back the African occupiers to Côte d’Ivoire and its environs?
It seems the god of GP and Zoe is not pleased with the behaviour of the blacks in Haiti and has sent plagues to decimate those people. Believing in voodoo and Roman Catholicism is really a no-no. Why can’t they be good evangelical Christians like Anglican Bajans and be spared the wrath of God in the form of the furious Matthew?
Given the pending economic collapse of Bim would you be seeing a similar repatriation of Bajan blacks to Ghana? Maybe then the repatriated blacks would become true entrepreneurs in the land of their cultural birth.
Remember Chad 9X5, life is a cycle and what goes around comes around like birth and death.
If god is sending out plagues ..can he please send out an infestation of fleas to the AC’s junk so they can be irritating even when they are not commenting
@Chad
You betray your youth and naivety.
The problems that we face in this world are not of recent origin. They stem from generations of shiite (which you still subconsciously endorse) ..that has finally reached up towards the global fan…
Like Barbados, mistakes made in Haiti by ongoing generations have come together to produce a series of circumstances that portend serious doom for all of us… This situation applies across our ENTIRE world – even (and especially) in those so-called ‘developed’ societies where the danger is camouflaged by superficial technologies that are able to hide their precarious situation from their eyes.
The piss poor nature of Haiti’s leadership – and hence of its national fortune, can EASILY be seen by what is happening in Barbados as we speak. We have gone off on a tangent of greed and selfishness that initially, (like prostitution which it mimics,) appears to bring affluence.
In the longer term however, it brings degradation, despair, disease and hopelessness.
This systemic adoption of albino-centric philosophy is central to our long-term demise.
Haiti is unique in that, these, (like Jamaicans) are clearly special people who, like Blacks generally during history, are undergoing unusually harsh trials – precisely because, as SPECIAL people – with a SPECIAL heritage, they have abandoned their natural instincts – and adopted the same albino-centric philosophies.
A loving parent tends to be unusually harsh with a ‘favourite child’ who, having been favoured in multiple ways, resorts to the lowest form of popular shiite on the block…. The prodigal son went through hell itself before being reintegrated into his father’s house…
Rest assured that those who have tormented these people over the centuries will pay a terrible price for their wickedness. When the trouble starts, those whose ‘developed’ status lay tenuously on fragile technologies like Electric power to their homes, water pumped into their kitchens, telephone and wireless resources at their fingertips and public transport at their beck and call …will suffer beyond words when these all collapse one day…..
…while those who have grown accustomed to living without these ‘amenities’ will know how to survive….
Things are not what they seem….
Life is complex, and the grave is not its goal..
dust thou are to dust returneth
was not spoken of the soul….
Not enjoyment, and not sorrow
is our destined end or way;
but to act, that each tomorrow
finds us farther than today.
I think we should pray to our God for the deliverance of Haiti. I believe He is the same God that the majority of Haitians pray to. Some do have different rituals but not inferior rituals. Rituals are only vehicles for coming into communion with God whoever or whatever we perceive him to be.
I hope those who promote reparations observe what reparation can do to a country?
From the scientific point of view,Haiti is unfortunate to be sited on an area of the earth that is prone to both earthquakes and hurricanes. Barbados is little more lucky. Thank God. And stop complaining.
Bush Tea
You are really kicking today. You are firing on all four cylinders. Welcome back!
Haiti is not the only country subjected to doom and catastrophy right here in our own back yard we had the devastation of natures fury in st vincent when mount Souffrie erupted the govt and people did not buckeled or place blame but took steps and preventive measures in place towards progress.Haiti continuance plight which could have been started years ago does not exempt good goverance presently from placing policies that can be beneficial to its people.
It is about time the govt or any govt that proposes to rule Haiti puts the best country interest first instead of their own
I expect that those of you with “de lotta long talk” will be sending “help” to Haiti.

Chad is a Brassbowl, of the highest order, plain and simple. His remedy to every problem is to blame the perceived victims.
Even Bushie who is normally sensible lacks the zeal to speak the truth. He would prefer to blame Haitian leadership as though that happens in isolation. As tough any leadership in our world must not answer to people outside the countries.
For Bushie all roads must lead to a BBE
Only David has tried to bring some sense to what is happening in Haiti. What has happened.
But nobody has stated that without the Haitian Revolution chattel slavery, as an institution, will we more alive and well today.
Not one fucking person has stated that Haiti defeated 3 world powers in 10 years. And that that is why it must continue to suffer, even today. This is how raassoooooooul vicious Chad’s White people are.
Nobody wants to say that stinking Hillary Clinton has holding hostage 14 billion in hurricane relief money for Haiti.

It is simplistic to say that Haiti’s deep-rooted problems can be resolved by increasing donations. Some serious underlying issues are at play in Haiti and God knows how they will be fixed.

That ad for the creamer made in “occupied Japan” is a fake. As an avid collector with over 100 pieces, I have never seen a stamp with different size picas. Moreover, all of my pieces says made in occupied Japan. If that creamer was porcelain it would say something like “Trimont China, etc., hand painted, made in occupied Japan.” It is just plain old ceramic.
All the money and sympathy in the world cannot buy morals a country that does not have the moral fortitude cannot reap the benefits of good rewards.
Too many years country after country along with variuos charties have supported Haiti efforts towards progress but to no avail as govts and inside influence geared to help a few have stood in the haitian people betterment
Most Haitains who have fled Haiti has done better due to the fact that the underlying systematic problems they fight in haiti to survive are no longer obstructions which stagnate or depletes them a decent way of life

……………………………………………..
I share your remarks, my heart goes out to these poor people. As a friend said to me last night as we speaking on this…one wonders when the suffering of the Haitian people will end.
Most Barbadians jump on the Clinton bandwagon and few of them know that the Clinton Foundation has been holding on to the funds belonging to Haiti and whilst the people of Haiti remain poor and homeless, the Clintons who came out of the White House dead broke are now very wealthy people. Go figure!
@ David and Piece,
Haiti has an “immediate HUMANITARIAN problem”. Food, temporary shelters and water.
I can’t speak to the “deep rooted problems.”
Get hit by a massive natural disaster you need help.
@ Prodigal Son
“Let Google be your friend”
When i first say that admonishment, I bust out laughing, i cant remember who first coined it her but it was quick and witty and to the point.
There is a place on the internet cal ICANN
“The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers is a nonprofit organization that is responsible for coordinating the maintenance and procedures of several databases related to the namespaces of … Wikipedia …..blah blah blah
And what is the connection you can well ask?
Some years ago there was a particular NGO in *** that had 4 bank accounts.
THe Chairman of the board had an account, the President had one, the Secretary and his Wife the Treasurer had one and the PR Officer had one.
And they were all getting money for *** for donkey years at one time ong international agency that had a programme and was run by their ambassador had funded them TWICE, for two separate programmes, at the same NGO
THe secretary and treasurer got a grant for 30 sheep from the Programme Manageress and the President got a grant for computers from the Ambassador.
Now while the 4 factions did not speak to each other and operated this scam for years the people on the outside never know about this, UNTIL NOW heheheheheheheh
Again you going axe me whu is my point??
Until we develop a central clearing house for all international aid that is coming wherever from and going to NGOs CBOs and beneficiaries which will operate like ICANN does for ALL aid, the Clintons of the world will continue to rape us Haitans and Bajans and Kittitians, and Jamaicans, until doves cry.
When a certain man who does post pun heah, tink it feasible to return de blasted document dat i give to his donkey and some peeple dat he bring to my place 7 months ago tings like dat indigenous ICANN will continue to remain in stasis causing My Man Prodigal Son We asses is not ready.
De ole man sorry to say dis but we going forever be like Haiti, hewers of Wood and drawers of water
“When a certain man who does post pun heah, tink it feasible to return de blasted document dat i give to his donkey and some peeple dat he bring to my place 7 months ago”…..
Ah Piece….again and again, no one can be trusted…no one.
I say that because a thousand true stories that will frighten anyone, can be added.
first of all the Clinton Foundation does not owe Haiti any thing The Clinton Foundation did not beg or borrow any money from the Haitian govt that must be returned in a timely fashion . as a charitable organisation it can donate any or all of its monies to any country or individual of its choosing , The Haitian govt stands on its own way of progress by that the govt and cronies believes that the clinton foundation should become a ATM for their convenience and it was not going to happen , The promises made by the clinton Foundation was to help the Haitian people but not by way of handing over a treasure chest to a govt or a system of governance that could not provide sufficient proof as to how the monies would be managed, but rather prefer to put up roadblocks that would deny the Clinton foundation complete management of the handling of projects they had proposed through the foundation
this slimy propaganda by those in the republican party does not hold water as george bush and the clinton foundation have worked together effortlessly in helping the people of haiti
@Hants
Relief is coordinated through the Rotary and other civic agencies. In the past Barbadians have given generously. A read of the international news shows that the Red Cross and other philanthropic agencies are swarming Haiti at the moment. Aid to Haiti has never been an issue.
ACs..yall pimping for Clinton now, what happened to DLP, did ya get fired, you know Killary would never even want to see you right….so yardfowling for her is just a pipedream.
Guccifer 2.0 Hacked Clinton Foundation
Many of you have been waiting for this, some even asked me to do it.
So, this is the moment. I hacked the Clinton Foundation server and downloaded hundreds of thousands of docs and donors’ databases.
Hillary Clinton and her staff don’t even bother about the information security. It was just a matter of time to gain access to the Clinton Foundation server.
Here’s the contents of one of the folders that I got from there
As you can see, the private server of the Clinton clan contains docs and donors lists of the Democratic committees, PACs, etc. Does it surprise you?
Here are some docs for example
A small list of donors master-west-tracker-2-5k-1-1-2010-7-10-2015

Yes David,
Canada will send a DART team whose specialty is purifying contaminated water.
Interesting article: https://stluciatimes.com/2016/10/05/barbados-no-devaluation
I just note that the timescale between denial of devaluation gets shorter and shorter …
Sinckler made it very clear that IMF is no option. In other words, we will need some special, special loan with 20% interest rate to beef up the foreign reserves next time, resulting in even higher VAT and import duty to a point where we will pay 100 BBD for toilet paper – like Venezuela. Some call it “pride and industry”, I call it “insanity and economic slavery”.
@David, your comment seems to summarize the issue well, viz “It is simplistic to say that Haiti’s deep-rooted problems can be resolved by increasing donations. Some serious underlying issues are at play in Haiti and God knows how they will be fixed”.
The historical context as noted by Pacha is relevant surely but as also Chad noted the elites are the reason that Haiti has remained in their impoverished state since those revolutionary days when the French exacted crippling revenge.
And pause and look at South Africa. With all these crazy actions in the US political process I recently asked myself how well would Dr. King or Nelson Mandela be embraced in today modern xenophobic militancy. It seemed to me that many people would denounce them even more vehemently than Malcolm did Dr. King and Winnie did her former husband Pres. Mandela. This quote from South Africa appears to validate that view (re Mandela, anyhow).
— “If you were to ask me today, some years on, as a member of the Fallist movement, “What is wrong with these schools?” my answer would be that the compromise deal that ended apartheid and the concept of a Rainbow Nation are what’s wrong. Nothing significant was given up by the white minority: These schools, like so much of our social order, have preserved white privilege, without real concessions to majority-black South Africa. Until we dismantle the continued white domination of post-apartheid South Africa, Mr. Mandela’s children will not find freedom in the Rainbow Nation.”—
This was part of an essay which touched on the fact that Black South Africans are being discriminated against at historically white schools for – of all things – their ‘unkept hair’. Or as it used to be labelled back in the day: ‘nigga hair’.
Of course the obvious nexus between Haiti and South Africa is that Mandela did not take the L’Ouverture path of pain and destruction of the white overlords. Which is the exact path the youth quoted seems to suggest he should have taken.
So it’s just as obvious that South Africans would have been foolhardy to take that route and send their nation into the abyss. They can overcome the current issues with earnest effort in coming years.
Haiti hasn’t overcome hers still after three plus centuries.
The governor of Florida just told the people of Florida….”THIS STORM WILL KILL YOU”
I do not see where they need more warning, they have already been told to purchase all they need before the stores are closed….national shutdown…charge their bits and pieces.
2 million people have been told to leave the coastline…leave their homes.
You listen when told to save life and limb.
God knows that money is on our mind a lot. So much so that Jesus spoke and taught about money more than he did any other topic!
God knows that greed will destroy us. If we become focused on accumulating more wealth, we become focused and driven by greed and are never content. Often, greed opens the door to other sins and we find ourselves falling farther from God and what He has for our lives.
We must be careful to protect our hearts and minds against greed and to practice contentment. Not only to live being satisfied and thankful for what God has given us but also in being generous in giving!
1 John 2:15-17
“Do NOT love the world (the sphere of evil operating under the dominion of Satan), If anyone loves the world (system of evil) the love of the father is NOT in him.” v. 15.
“For ALL that is in the world – the LUST of the FLESH, the LUST of the eyes, and the PRIDE of life, – is NOT of the Father but is of the world.” v. 16.
“And the world (system) IS passing away, and the LUST of it, but he who does the will of God abides forever.” v.17
@Bush Tea, NO where in God’s Word, is any reference made to some “…albino-centric philosophy, that will be the long term demise of BLACKS! God’s Word states “…the LUST of the FLESH, the LUST of the eyes, and the PRIDE of life…” (v.16a)
“This systemic adoption of albino-centric philosophy is central to our long-term demise.”
“Haiti is unique in that, these, (like Jamaicans) are clearly special people who, like Blacks generally during history, are undergoing unusually harsh trials – precisely because, as SPECIAL people – with a SPECIAL heritage, they have abandoned their natural instincts – and adopted the same albino-centric philosophies.”
BT, What were/are the ancient religions of the African continent? What were these natural instincts, that were exchanged for some albino-centric philosophies? STOP covering up the SINS of black people, with this NONSENSE of albino-centric FOOLISHNESS!

Why don’t you go and read a Reader’s Digest or some shiite nuh…? and leave out BU…?
Yuh going let Bushie give you another stroke now…?
As Paul tried to explain, it is necessary to move beyond ‘drinking milk’ and get to digest some meat if you are intent on maturing as a son of BBE.
All you ever do is sit around reading shiite articles – written by other milk-drinkers, and then expect to digest Bushie’s well-done steaks…?
Steupsss.
A fellow like you …who still thinks that the ‘Trinity’ makes sense… will NEVER grasp the message that comes from Bushie. The same shiite happened to a previous bushman too ….and people like you ended up crucifying his donkey…. but he was the decent ‘first son’…. not like stinking Bushie…. the spoilt last boy….
If you think you will be nailing Bushie in a breadfruit tree easy so …yuh lie doh…!!!
Voodoo and Christianity: Compatibility or Irreconcilable Differences?

SYNOPSIS
To understand Voodoo as a culture and a religion, one must understand its history. Haiti has become a prominent figure for Voodoo because of its African cultural and religious heritage.
Through the sixteenth-century slave-trade system, Africans were taken from West Africa to the West Indies to work as slaves on European plantations. They brought their religion with them. In spite of its oral tradition, the core beliefs and practices of Voodoo have been preserved over time and space.
The similarities between Voodoo and traditional West African religion cannot be contested and have led to the understanding that it is indeed the same religion with minor variations influenced by syncretism, creativity, and diverse experiences.
The core doctrines include beliefs in a Supreme Being who can only be worshipped through secondary divinities that emanate from Him, from nature, and from deified ancestors. Its practices range from healing through homeopathic or natural remedies or potions prepared for a variety of symptoms to magic, witchcraft, and sorcery. A careful analysis of the doctrine and practices of Voodoo leads to the conclusion that Voodoo is more polytheistic than it claims to be and that its practices, worship, and way of life are incompatible with the Christian faith.
All of this Voodoo with an admixture of Catholicism, is a recipe for destruction of a people. No matter how many BILLIONS of $$$ are pumped into Haiti, unless, and until there IS* mass repentance and conversion to Christ ALONE, as Saviour and Lord, there will be NO deliverance from the forces of EVIL, Satan and his demonic hoards, that continue to plague the Hatian people under his EVIL dominion!
Do not know about vodoo but this i know that the bible says there is only one power and that is God Almighty.Be that as it may many a people and countries who practiced Christianity has felt the fury of natures warth. Therfore correlating vodooo and natural disasters as Gods punishment to the Haitian people is ridiculous.
Firstly the country geographical position and geological history is problematic which most likely increased its risk to natural disasters like hurricanes but however what is awfully wronged is that Haiti people has lacked good goverance for many years and good infrastructure which puts the country at an even high risk when natural disasters occurs
Zoe as a christain you ought to be praying for the Haitain people asking God to send them a Moses or an Aaron to lead them and direct their path.instead of bashing them
Well Well lol you listen when told……you cant even get people to take their hands out of their pockets and hold them up in the air or you are going to get shot by police ,so what chance do you think there is of a lot of people staying then expecting emergency services to risk their lives once it is too late.
The number of deaths from matthew keep rising. How much longer are the elected officials of haiti continue to play deadly political games with the Haitain people lives
The people sense of distrust of outsiders trying to help them should be balanced with their overalll well being. No sense in burying their heads in a sand of pessimism when their lives remain intolerable and unbearable while natures fury spare them no mercy when it comes knocking
Who can blame Haitians who do not want to utter Oh Lord hear our prayers!
The death toll in Haiti as a result of Hurricane Matthew – the most powerful Caribbean storm in a decade – has soared to more than 300, officials say.
Some 50 people were reported killed in the town of Roche-a-Bateau alone.
The nearby city of Jeremie saw 80% of its buildings levelled. In Sud province 30,000 homes were destroyed.
The hurricane, now a Category Three storm with sustained winds of 120mph (193km/h), is heading towards the US state of Florida.
At 03:00 local time (07:00 GMT) Matthew was still off the Florida coast, centred about 37 miles (60km) east of Vero Beach and was moving north-west at about 14mph (22km/h), the National Hurricane Center said.
