Dear Members of the Media,

I do not possess the luxury of time to be constantly used in responding to Hal Gollop’s absurd claim that the Immigration (Biometrics) Regulations 2015 were only an “idea” of the DLP Administration, and did not actually exist. I have therefore attached the following documents hereto:-

  1. Several pages of the actual text of the Regulations as made by Freundel Stuart on 17th April 2015 and published in the Official Gazette of 23rd April 2015
  2. The first page of the Official Gazette of 23rd April 2015. Please see the Contents section
  3. The text of the Barbados Government Information Service Release of 15th February 2016 announcing theย  decision and directive stipulating the fingerprinting of persons leaving and entering Barbados. Please see the fourth paragraph of the text of the Releaseย  which indicates that these measures “WEREย  MANDATORYย  UNDERย  THEย  IMMIGRATION (BIOMETRICS)ย  REGULATIONS 2015”.

I would be grateful if you would publish these documents in order to safeguard the Barbadian public from being misled by Mr Gollop’s un-informed and misleading comments.

Don’t worry Comissiong..we got your back. We know that Gollop is trying for damage control, lies on top of lies to cover lies and mislead the voters, elections is around the corner and he is not afraid he wakes up tomorrow morning with no tongue from lying.

Even this most humble bajan knows they are lying and must be punished for being snakes in the grass. Soon come.

  3. Does ANYBODY from the press EVER intend to ask Gollop what the hell he knows about the kidnap and murder of a Mrs Smith? …. a woman whose home HE visited in questionable circumstances just prior to her disappearance….????
How the hell does he manage to have a ‘story’ for every other shiite – from fired NCC workers to Froon’s amateurish law-making …… But can’t say a pang about his visit with Mrs Smith?

On the matter of David Come-and-sing-a-song’s issue….. Gollop’s story seems to be ..that we should ignore the idiot Froon, …who does not know the difference between a ‘bad idea’ and a gazetted Law.
Basically Gollop is arguing that Comissiong should have known better than to take the Prime Minister seriously ..when he stood up in Parliament and announced that they were bringing this ‘Law’ on finger-printing….
WAIT BOZIE …. Bushie thought that Gollop was Froon’s friend….!!??

…but perhaps Gollop is now pissed off too…
After all, Froon ALSO said that CAHILL had not reached his desk…
…He said that The NCC would be fast-tracked…
…He said free UWI education would NOT be touched…

YOU!!! Come to think of it, …what exactly led Comissiong to think the man was serious this time about fingerprinting…?

    LOL…
    Oh Shoiite!!!
    Ha ha ha

There s a provision in the gazetted “mistake” for facial image …read….recocgnition, as well, but they chose fingerprinting which could give DNA samples. Can’t trust them get them gone.

@David, so is this an additional ‘excuse’ to his earlier claim that it was ‘not a law’ !

There is one thing that is true of politicians, their lawyers and related advisers the world over: they lie brazenly.

The details from the FBI today related that Sec Clinton clearly is an absolute, wicked liar.

The only reason that anyone should vote her as President is because the other candidate is even more of a pathological liar than she is.

The prevarication contrast between Gollop and Stuart or rather Stuart and Mottley is not as clear (at least to me). Although Mottley often seemed worst the recent revelations paint Stuart as an extremely ‘competent’ liar….much better than often realized.

    The joys of politics.

  6. @Dee Word

Would it not have been more constructive if VOB and other media outlets searched out independent legal commentary?

  7. All this talk about fingerprints and today’s newspaper article informs that we will be protected by cameras on Spring Garden and elsewhere. Now tell me, will we be living in a fools paradise when we believe that the cameras are working? If this government is unable to upkeep a D9 tractor, busses, a hospital, a few ambulances and some sanitation trucks, why should we place our faith in the upkeep of security cameras? They can’t even keep the cameras at the Transport Authority working for an extended period and now want to fingerprint travelers and citizens. Gimme’ a brake.

  8. We are at a loss as well.

Is it possible that Hal Gollop has dementia or ‘early’ on set Alzheimer’s?

    Is he compus mentis?

  9. I cannot wait for the day when we no longer have to hear from educated asses like Hal Gollop.

I thought that he did Fumble no favours today.

He inexplicitly said that Fumble did not know what he was doing when he signed the amendment. I thought that as soon as an amendment is gazetted it becomes the law of the land?

I heard Fumble said after the Opposition raised this matter, Dale Marshall spoke in the House and the BLP dealt with it at the Baxters Road meeting…….when they said that they were going to file this case against the finger printing…….he said that they can talk all they want, the finger printing will go on because Barbados’ national security was at stake.

What I would like to ask the PM one question though……….if he is so concerned with national security, how would he get the finger prints of the Barbadians who do not travel? Are the people who travel the ones who are the security risks?

Ignorant decision just like every other decsion these morons make!

What cameras on what highway what? …
    Fuh show!!

Wuh they can’t even get the damn street lights to burn…
You hear what Gollop said….? The DLP is just about meaningless shiite talk… except of course when it comes to moving our money into Bizzy / Maloney’s hands… then they get VERY creative with things like ‘Shiite taxes’ and CAHILL…

@FearPlay at 9:24 PM # Some years ago I knew a few people who were ‘pimping’ around to win one of those ‘big brother’ security cam projects. You can talk about whether they work or not but if the gov’t is operating true to form then that is a tidy sum of hardware (high end cameras with night vision optics and the works) and a robust software package to manage it.

A nice ‘small’ contract (expandable likely) to have no doubt!

Pacha.. it’s Gollop’s numerous compus crimes returning to haunt him.

  14. But wait…….is Fumble off his medication?

The man told a bold faced lie on DLPTV tonight ……….the man said in Guyana that unemployment is down to 9% and that jobs are coming back.

Fumble, where? In Barbados? You have been travelling overseas too much….you got to be mad. Just last month in the CBB report, the governor said that unemployment was 11% (which is another big lie……..unemployment has to be over 20%), so how could it drop by 2% in 30 days? You ever see lies?

I would ike to know where are the jobs as I know a lot of people whose children have finished UWI, many are out of work, some have finished medical school and cannot get into the internship program, some have had to go overseas. These lies do nothing for these young people. I know of families where no one is working. Just last week a neighbour who is a single parent was made redundant and the sad thing is that her eldest daughter was also made redundant last year……so no one in that family is working now.

And the economy is turning around and jobs are returning? Give me a break from your lies!

  15. Woop woop the unemployment rate drops into single digits don’t remember that happening since Owen Arthur’s halcyon days. News to be thankful for if you want to see Barbados back to work and you are a patriot.

The yard fowls and paling cocks will bawl the Statistical Service numbers are incorrect Sinclair and Froon cook the books. Mind you the same Statistical Service was held up as an oasis of integrity when Arthur’s mantra was jobs jobs jobs.

Froon you accepted mission impossible if you aim to satisfy the yard fowl sector. Heart warming news for families, the economy and society now less people are unemployed. Big up to citizens and residents who make the effort to build Bimshire. Upwards and onwards.

  16. FOR THE FIRST quarter (January to March) 2016, unemployment stood at 9.3 per cent.

  17. Dear David Commissiong: We are with you on this one.

  18. I heard Gollop on VOB today and I began to wonder if I had taken a psychoactive substance.

  19. I glean from Gollop’s remarks to his former BLP colleague Glyne Murray(incidentally,Murray,if it is one thing you cannot do is speak coherently.I cannot understand what you are saying mister man.You are stammering and talking 90 miles an hour, obviously you are untrained in radio)I glean from Gollop’s remarks that he would do a far better job for Froon as the AG.Froon would then get the advice which Braffit is withholding from him and it is making Froon look very bad,not to mention Braffit who is an unknown in Barbados prior to the appointment in the AG position.

  20. I donโ€™t believe BU contributors are actually taking Hal Gollop seriously. This man has very little credibility and this characteristic came to fore when he was representing Leroy Parris, insisting the โ€œlaunderedโ€ $3.333M was actually a GRATUITY PAYMENT due to Parris, while IGNORING the METHOD by which the money was obtained.

Gollop proved this again in March 2016 when, as Chairman of the ERT, and BEFORE GIVING a VERDICT in the former NCC employeesโ€™ hearing, he told the public government DOES NOT have any MONEY to re-engage those former employees.

I am not too intelligent, so I would have to assume that, taking the fact that Gollop said the government has no money to re-employ the former employees, how could he RULE in THEIR FAVOUR.

As chairman of the ERT, would Gollopโ€™s statement prejudiced their case, could his actions be deemed as a breach of trust or did he imply a bias against those retrenched workers?

And now Gollop re-appears from the โ€œwood-workโ€ to talk shiite in an effort to defend his personal mate, Freundel Stuart.

Hal Gollop deserves a space in BU’s “Lawyers in the News” blog.

Hal Gollop’s character is already known. He is the play thing and stand in the gap of lies man for two very wicked political administrations. What concerns me and should all of you, is that we have a very dishonest, immoral and bold face liar of a Prime Minister parading himself in all his vain–disrespect thinking that he is dealing, still, with a bunch of backward shites name foolish Barbadians. That is what troubles me the most. The Prine Minister of Barbados is a silent cess pool of lies, manipulation, and bold face deceit.

  22. Wuhlaus! Muh belly! Bushie, are you going to kill me before they do? Well, at least I will go laughing!

I am imagining you and Gollop in wigs and robes fighting a case in the law courts. That would be one for Laugh it off!

On Q100FM Maureen Holder says”l hope that Hal Gollop would call and give us clarification” and like clockwork he was there. On VOB Glyne Murray goes “thanks for calling” only to be corrected “I didn’t call you called me”. My point is this. Something political? We gotta hear from Harold Hoyte and or Peter Wickham. Legal matters? Bet cha life the esteemed Hal Gollop must be consulted. The shit files bout here because we permit the lazy ass journalistic fraternity to condition our minds as to what qualifies as as independent and influential opinion. Were we not once bombarded with the impartial economic reports of Ryan Straughn almost daily? Whenever we revamp the broken system I hope we don’t forget the fourth estate.

  27. Look at the captioned photo above and think on this -“Men in suits look really successful…..until you realize that they work for men in t-shirts and jeans”.

A Chief Justice with an unimpressive legal history, an Attorney General with an unknown legal background and a Prime Minister with a legal background too insignificant to mention and we were expecting what????

Is there any wonder why the holder of the office of PM treats the people of this country with such scant respect and disdain? He landed in a job he was ill prepared for, he suffered horribly through a part term only to be thrust back into a position that he did not want, did not expect, did not deserve and was incapable of managing, far less mastering. I think we can all remember the low level of enthusiasm displayed after midnight on the fateful morning when the results were announced. So sure was he that sensible people would not return to power, this cancer masquerading as a government, that he was unprepared to speak with purpose or meaning. They did not have a plan on how to manage the country before elections and expecting not to be re-elected, never took the time to have one going forward.

What we are experiencing is the head master punishing the pupils for being stupid! Some (approx 50%) of the population made a horrible mistake and the sooner they are willing to take ownership of their misjudgment and correct it the better. A horrible mistake, yes but they thought they were doing the right thing for the country at the time. Hindsight is 20/20 vision.

You said and I quote “What I would like to ask the PM one question thoughโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆ.if he is so concerned with national security, how would he get the finger prints of the Barbadians who do not travel?

“Are the people who travel the ones who are the security risks?”

“Ignorant decision just like every other decision these morons make!”

There is an old statement about “he who pays the piper calls the tune” and what is being practiced here is a sophisticated exercise in bobo, graft, bribe, whatever you want to call it.

For those people who understand how the country’s budget operates and which ministry and MINISTER gets the money to dole out, the mystery of “how would he get the fingerprints of Barbadians who do not travel?” is solved in a hurry.

It made sense for this to have been a National ID project to secure ALL of the biometric data BUT SUCH would have enriched that specific ministry/Minister greatly.

Once commenced in the Office of the PM, under his ministerial chapeau of National Security, it falls to his ministry where the purse is allocated, where the bilateral aid funding will be provided and to whom the responsibility of doling out $$ lies

Why you think is the basis of the rumour? that the LoE wants have the Ministry of Finance under her portfolio, in addition to that of National Security?

With regard to the second part of your question about the people who travel being part of the security risk you would have to refer to Humpty Dumpty Greenidge on that one, cause certainly it has been such a risk that the Government of the United States, through this fingerprinting program, put its foot down and wants the falsification/fabrication of identities to stop

And finally De ole man would only say that you should now realise that, given where the $$ was and is going to be flowing, Fumbles’ decision and that endorsed by Nitwit Brafs, is not so moronic after all.

Where else would they be able to secure graft and bribes and kickbacks? Other than sharing de moola with the Guyanese fella when dem releasing murder accused pun bail!!

I hope that that doan “hit you fuh six, like it hit Fumbles!!!

  30. Why is it that when there is an argument of disagreement the Blp operatives always arguments hinges on character attacks. the blp operatives ought to look among their household including party and leader and find if their is one among them that9 is without blemish
