Barbados based pollster Peter Wickham of CADRES has drawn the ire of UWI, Cave Hill Lecturer Dr. Tennyson Joseph. A recent CADRES poll has determined that the St. Lucia general elections called for 6 June 2015 too close to call. St. Lucian Joseph served briefly as the Administrative Attaché to the Prime Minister of St. Lucia Kenny Anthony between 2000 and 2003 and is vested in the politics of that country.

In a radio interview with St. Lucia radio talk show host Shelton Daniel, Joseph dealt harshly with Wickham’s narrow analysis and attempt to use ‘political sleight of hand’ to manipulate public opinion leading into the general elections. Joseph has advised Wickham to remove himself from the political paymasters (BU’s characterization).

    Joseph stopped short of calling Peter a fraud and a political prostitute whose time is up. Job well done Tennyson. Most props to you Sir. It’s nice to know that Fruendel Stuart was smart enough to run this con man away and not fall victim to this prostitute. Fruendel clearly should be credited more for his wisdom.

    Come on people. Deal with the real issue. Regardless of who wins the election, the margin of error should not embarrass Peter. Just look at the Jamaican election when only one seat change the Government. Mr. Joseph is not using scientific data but prefer to deal with his past association with the Kenny Anthony factor. That means probability of a win for Anthony is a bias act by a 13-year past association.

    Never heard or read where a political pollster is hired by any reputable newspaper or any media outlet to expoused blatant or bias political opinions regularly or on a continual basis in any other country other than barbados
    When a radio station such as VOB used a political arm of engagement to attract and divert knowingly the political system such actions even if done with subliminal intent are as close to vote buying or having an intent to rigged the political sysytem which was done in the last election with the Peter Wickham diabolical twisted last minute polls
    After such an obvious twist in his polling numbers his voice should have never been allowed on any reputable media outlet to give his opinion on political issues .
    This guy is a born and bred political charloten who cannot be trusted whether he is B or D an clear example of an individual trying to feather his nest using deployments of hypocrisy and trickery. What a dam shame

    As for your personal hatred of homosexuals one can only pity you.
    It is widely felt by psychoanalysts that people who are so openly vicious to homosexuals (male or female) are ‘normally’ fighting demons within. It is a well-known reaction to fight or suppress their own burning homosexuality. Does that fit well with you, Caine?

    Unlike you, I accept people for what they are. Unlike you, I am not a judge on people’ sexuality and often live in countries where people like you would find yourself with heavy fines or spending time in prison among the same people towards whom you show homophobic behaviours.

    You cannot condemn Peter Wickham because of his perceived homosexuality and at the same time accept the long-time bachelor Stuart hiding in the closet despite the rumour of his recent marriage. Maybe an enquiry among the Bajan gay community can fill you in on the details.
    Now STFU, Horatio. Who the hell do you think you are to tell people how to live their private lives as long as they are not breaking the law by injuring others?

    Fearplay you are missing the point i.e one of conflict of interest and the fact that PW has a “hand on approach ‘ by his system of polling added to the fact that he can use his voice via media outlets as an influence with a regard to direct a certain leverage of political sway or /pull
    those other notables you mentioned although having a voice to influence did not have than additional leverage of a polling system by which varying degrees of political intrusion could bend sway or direct an outcome of the poll,
    His bold attempt of trying to wear two hats is cause for concern as he has exercised an undisciplined measure of political analysis which favors one side over the other which is counterproductive and arguably against good commonsense and ethics which only rubs against his polling system and depletes his integrity

    Th economy is in shambles

    The country is going down hill fast

    There is vitually no foreign investment in the country

    Unemployment is sky high

    Taxpayers cannot receive their tax refunds

    Businesses cannot receive their VAT refunds

    Children cannot go to UWI

    The Auditor General has just exposed the thiefing and crookery in the BWA building which is a scandal

    Crime is rampant and we have a total jackass as an AG

    The PM has gone pass useless, his only concern is to keep being PM so that he can continue to live the life of luxury cause he does not work to earn the perks

    We have a country where garbage is nasty as hell…..I saw a bob cat collecting garbage this evening and then hoisting up into an open back MTW truck

    ………..and we have these dlp yardfowls trying to get into someone’s personal life……someone who was previously in their bosom and at that time his personal life was no concern to them. But as soon as he admitted that the DLP has failed the people and he calls them out…….his personal life is to be put on blast.

    I am sure Peter would tell them he dont give a darn about anyone of dem.

    He argues the point most convincingly that PW is too close for comfort in his alignment to one or the other political party and in so doing his analysis becomes tainted with political biases and as a result reflects in his poll whereby no one can trust. Dr tennyson also pointed to the awkwardness with Peter Wickham intention of scurrying around at the last minute searching for a lifeline to influence the outcome of barbados last election

    Brass tacks has become a very boring program with predictable callers going on and on every day of the week. When Peter is on the callers have a field day as he urges them on. He denigrates the Prime Minister at every turn on the call in program which is sometimes really ridiculous. Is he trying to get the Prime Minister to respond because this is nearly eight years and he has not?
    I am a Down to Brass tack fan for a very long time but sometimes Peter Wickham uses this talk show to express some of his perverted behavior. Last week he and a caller was discussing flogging adults and he gleefully chimed in that he does not support corporal punishment but he would like to be the person flogging the adults.
    He has this soap box all to himself to express anything he wants to put on the national agenda.

    The first time i am actually agreeing with Bushie, i do believe however that Murray strives to maintain a balance and Tricia really thinks and holds her own and cannot be easily influenced like the others namely Corey Lane and crew. Wickham has turned that show into a complete sham and it appears that he is very angry since his soothsaying in 2013 made him the laughing stock of the pollster world. It has really dented his credibility and to date his self esteem in respect of polling has been so shattered that every job he now gets,he uses his get out of jail card,which is now his catch phrase….too close to call as a means of erring on the side of caution. The two poll man is now in a quandary and i was totally surprised when i heard Joseph outlining what we all knew every since. This is certainly a serious blow to him and his future in polling i do not care how the spin doctors try to spin it.

    As far as Stuart being an intellectual is concerned, don’t you think you are being a bit too hard on the poor guy by ascribing qualities he is incapable of demonstrating? The hallmark of a ‘genuine’ intellectual is the ‘ability’ to communicate to others the contents of one’s intellect.

    “Yard-fowlism” in itself would make a good case study.

    Because Dr. Tennyson Joseph’s columns may not necessarily praise the DLP or reflect the views of DLP yard-fowls, the yard-fowls resort to calling him “a foreigner.”

    However, these same yard-fowls have supported foreigners who are pro DLP, such as Peter Morgan (Canadian), Frank DaSilva (Trinidadian), David Thompson (British), Irene Sandiford-Garner (British), Abdul Pandor (East Indian), and have fully embraced St. Lucian Mara Thompson, calling her their “Queen.”

    And I know they will come out in defense of Irene. The DEMS love to talk about “putting country first” and “patriotism.” “Putting country first” is self defining…….. Ask Irene if she has a Barbadian or British passport? People born in the UK can apply for British citizenship for their children. Ask Irene if her children have British citizenship and passports. If she is honest enough to admit, then she is really “putting country first,”…………. But which one?

    Saint Lucia politics are unfamiliar yet still political hustlers Wickham who doubles as a CIA mole , Ruedon Eversley, Hartley Henry etc are over there peddling their services. In addition St. Lucia PM Anthony says BLP operatives Mia Mottley , Debbie Hughes et al are on the ground. Anthony is alarmed so many Bajan political hustlers and yard fowls lurk in St. Lucia. Anyone knows what’s playing out in banana land ? Miller, Art, Prodigal, refugee Joseph, Bush, thanks in advance for shedding light on this thorny issue.
