Aye Aye Mr. Speaker Sir 30 Honourable Members Indeed
The 2016 Estimates Debate will be remembered by the BU household not for the high standard of contributions between members of parliament but for the decision by Speaker of the House Michael Carrington of Assembly to refer a matter to the Committee of Privileges (CoP). A Nation newspaper report offended Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite to the extent he felt compelled to ‘complain’ to the Speaker of the House – the reason: an advertisement placed by the Opposition Barbados Labour Party (BLP) that read, “BLP public meeting. The truth must be told. Come and hear who misled the House of Assembly…” .
This issue resonates with BU on many fronts. Underlying the decision by the Speaker to refer the matter to the CoP is the belief – mistakenly many are of the view – that honourable members of parliament are always honest in their postulations. At this point BU highly recommends the book The Gunslinger.
There is the adage action speaks louder than words. A few years ago it was reported that David Estwick M.P. brandished a firearm in the presence of Dale Marshall M.P. in the precinct of parliament and that matter was also referred to the CoP. BOTH sides conspired to frustrate the workings of the CoP – just like the PAC – and the matter died an expected death when the House was dissolved when the election date was declared.
Is this the same Attorney General who promised the House of Assembly that he would report on the status of Mia Mottley to practice law in Barbados? Why has he never been called to deliver on his promise by BOTH sides of the House? Can we the PEOPLE’s Court not deem the Honourable Adreil Brathwaite to have misled the CITIZENRY as well? Who are the three lawyers (including Mia Mottley) who received a waiver of the LEC all those years ago? Why the big secret?
Finally, is this the same ‘teefing’ Speaker of the House MICHAEL CARRINGTON who exercised good judgement by referring the matter raised by Brathwaite to the CoP? Seriously?

Lord have mercy!

Does BU have a link to the entire contribution by the Hon member for St John?
From the way this excerpt is cobbled together it appears that she is attacking the Hon. Mr. Speaker but that doesn’t make sense. Could it be someone else that she is addressing through the Speaker? If so, who could that be?
It is necessary to get the full speech to understand the context of the speech and what she is actually saying.

While she is asking questions of others………….asking them to account for funds, it would be helpful if she could answer some questions the CLICO policy holders have.
Lady, the CLICO policyholders would like to know how your husband who by all accounts only practiced law on a part time basis as he was a full time politician……and who was no top lawyer (piss poor if you ask me)…….how he could amassed so much wealth from his dealings with CLICO?
CLICO policyholders would like to know whether the funds your husband kept in Families First was their monies?
CLICO policyholders would like to know how comes one judge tied up your husband’s estate to their fiasco and a pro DLP CJ could untie it?
Do you think you could give them any answers because after all, we taxpayers who did not lick out a cent of CLICO’s monies are now left to carry the bag while you sit on their millions!
Give me a break, Mara, you are unfit to sit in our Parliament………your contributions are useless. You should never have been elected but the people of St John are blinded by DLP loyalty.

Last week during the estimates debates, I was at a function and all the talk was about these DLP ministers.
To a person, we all said, there is not one of the bunch that you can say is doing a good job……….except maybe the talker Donville, I would give him a pass.
The Lowman…………….garbage pile up alll over Barbados
John Boyce…………what a mess Health is in
David Estwick…………water crisis and 7000 tons of sugar but he wants a half billion dollar new factory
Ronald Jones…….Education in chaos while he has been in charge for 8 years. Education ministry has never been in such chaos as under him
Michael Lashley………….he messed up Housing and now Transport…. it is said that for him it is always what’s in it for me……. allegedly (he likes to sue) Only Mark Maloney, Jada and Innotech are seeing the fruits of our votes
Richard Sealy…………dont even get me started with that Sandals deal, GOL arilines and this latest BTII loan fiasco
Chris Sinckler……….best left unsaid…..a man who never studied economics can try to put down a trained economist at a time when he still has a job destroying the economy for 7 years
Freundel Stuart…………..a waste of time to talk about him….the worst PM in history
We could lump Mara Thompson, Jester Ince, Irene Sandiford, Patrick Todd, James Paul, Darcy Boyce, Esther Byer and Lashley (culture) in one barrel.
What a waste…………each one of them. If being incompetent at one’s job was a crime, they should be in jail.

That sums him up totally…….someone from overseas come here, had to deal with him and in a short time was able to sum the man up.
And we are surprised? He was the one who shouted hurled an insult across the floor to Duguid………………”wait, Donville, you aint tell me that his wife’s childen are not his!” This caused Duguid to explode and then Duguid got all the blame when he was provoked.
That is the level at which he operates!

In answer to the question being asked “is this woman alright?” I would ask the Blohmaster, or any of you here, if you (i) have excerpts of sections where the lady spoke at previous Estimates and (ii) if you have excepts of when she was acting as Speaker of the House?
Then there is my final question.
At what point during the time that she serves as the Speaker of the House does she speak or more specifically make a ruling ?
So one has baseline data to see if she is intelligent and or intelligible NORMALLY.
One then has information regarding how or if she speaks when in another position which requires her to speak
And finally one has informations as to the content of such speech WHEN SHE DOES SPEAK.
While I am not in possession of any of the three at this time, de ole man might be inclinedm based on this excerpt to say that Mara is really a Dufus and is COMPLETELY OUT OF HER DEPTH!!

I say sought to depict purposely because while the picture was exquisite like Zoe I defer to the point about the absolute turpitude we are and will be when The Real Christ comes.
I get the impression that Mara is no oratorical firebrand and neither is she a brainiac either. She is not the type of person to resort to the gutter cussing so of the dead King, her husband.yet, in the only style that the DLP knows, the script sought to denigrate the LOO BUT Mara ent no cuss bird.
The piece like Jimbo, Gabriel and Prodigal state was a script that was given to her and Mara, when she read it, realizing that it Said Leader of the Opposition was afraid that it was too derogatory and, on the fly changed the object of the essay to the Speaker as opposed to the LOO.
Mara Thompson is not a politician she is a woman and mother whom the carrion that surrounds her, including the dead King, sought to corrupt and as executrix/ce of the millions, while not the customary scum, still ent so much of an Honourable woman to return the ill gotten gains to Clico since after all she still has daughters to endow.

So I can’t agree or disagree with your assertions that ” Mara is no oratorical firebrand and neither is she a brainiac” or that “She is not the type of person to resort to the gutter cussing so of the dead King”.
But I suggest you have lost the plot to offer “Mara Thompson is not a politician..” Really!
Politics is all about balancing well the shifting sands beneath your feet. Not only about bombast, oratorical skills or indeed skillful dissection of economic and legal briefs.
She has been absolutely expert on the shifting sands of CLICO, any liabilities of her husband’s estate and most importantly insulating herself from as much of that carrion and scum you mentioned by accepting and winning that seat in Parliament.

However the Dominican relief funds and questions which are being asked of the leader of the opposition as a proof of transparent accounting were funds which were asked of and collected through various public offerings at the management of the leader of the blp Mia Mottley with specific and plausible intentions
Although not funds accessed by taxpayers funding or govt sponsored relief programs, those funds should be verified and accounted publicly in lieu of the fact that the intent was to provide relief for a sister caricom nation and the public having trust in advancing such measured support for the original intent

[you, the speaker] what is your record as such relates to debates on violence against women?
[you the speaker] are noticeably absent from such debates
[and to close, you the speaker] are to keep your eyes off my daughters
Some years ago there were a team of charlatans who went around tricking gullible villagers under the guise of spreading the word.

On the appointed night the exercise in skullduggery begins.
Durant whispers “And the Lord said unto Moses” and Thompson repeats “and the Lord said unto Moses…” But inadvertently puts his fingers over the words

When we pause to discuss “30 honourable members,” should we refer to Dr. David Estwick as being “honorable” or is he, in the words of his esteemed leader, a “sanctimonious hypocrite?”
I am sure BU is aware of Estwick’s customary outbursts, threats to resign and his having a problem with the direction his administration has been taking the economy as well as Stuart’s leadership style.
In December 2013 began to vent his frustration with government’s economic and fiscal policies as well as the leadership style of the prime minister.
Estwick revealed his displeasure of government’s economic policies in an interview with Barbados Today during February 2014, by informing Barbadians that “the Freundel Stuart administration as using the “wrong medicine” to deal with the economic problems facing the island.
He said “while he understood the strategy being adopted by the government to turn around the ailing economy, it was not going to achieve the desired goal of fixing a BDS$1.4 billion current account deficit.
”So you can’t cut and tax out of that, which is the old budgetary tool, which is a classic IMF way of delivering it. I am not afraid to say what I have to say because I stand by my inferences and by my reasoning and my common sense. Where that leads me, it will lead me,”
In November 2014, Estwick told Stuart, via a private memorandum which was subsequently made public, that he should take action to solve an issue identified by him (Estwick) or he would resign from the cabinet.
Also, in December 2014, a few days after Stuart travelled to Cuba for the fifth Caricom/Cuba Summit, Estwick chose that time to inform Barbadians he was fed up over the non-implementation of his instructions pertaining to the Barbados Cane Industry Restructuring Project. He subsequently sent a seven paged letter to the prime minister, in which he warned Stuart “this is the last time I will raise this matter with you…”.
Despite his constant public outbursts, when the time comes for parliamentarians to vote on passing a bill in the House, Estwick always play the “party line” and “aye” with his colleagues even on issues he previously criticized.

AC….as a female you should know that having children is a personal choice regardless of one’s lifestyle, who are you to judge when or if someone should have children because of a declining population.
Barbados has some very serious and complex social issues, maybe if your masters were not so self absorbed and focused on self enrichment they could address, identify the causes and arrive at a solution to reverse the trend…but no, all they think about is million dollar bank accounts and big rides, big houses, lots of women and some say, men….all the wrong things.
Why dont you help out the depopulation by increasing the population with 6 more children..
We know why China has the problem, it can be traced back to decades of killing female babies.
We know why Japan has the same problem…that also has several different social problems attached.
But why is such a small island like Barbados having that issue.
About 3 weeks ago there was only one female born in the birthing area, for that whole Sunday………the previous days only saw male births…ergo, at that rate birth rates will fall even further in the next 20 years.
What does the government plan to do about that.

I have an admission to make.
I have a begrudging respect for you and your abject, albeit misguided loyalty to the DLP, even in the face of their obvious lack of skills and it taking them 10 years to learn how to attempt to run government
My problem with you does not lie in your English, or command thereof, speech impediments or grammatical correctness do not impair or diminish the concept delivered when the village idiot yells “fyah” and there is a fire going on.
You made a mistake, one of several that you make here, and I realize that you, rather one of you, is not a man of letters and were it not for the grans and me chilrun, I too would be similarly challenged.
You exposed your wicket and I dragged it out of the pitch but there are some things patriotic that you accept blindly which I cannot and will not.
There are some bloggers here who truly weep in the face of obvious incapacity to manage by BOTH OF OUR PARTIES, moreso yours.
Some of us make it very obvious that we love our country and when ingrunce happens, like tekking a whole school day and mekking de school chilrun are is reading well go to the Gymnasium to watch Edwin Yearwood, is ingrunce squared!!
We are old watchdogs who are disturbed whether it is B or D destroying the moral fabric of our society but we love our country and even though we have a hope of what our country should be, and a fond remembrance of what it was, we also realize that dependence on history is meaningless if we want to hitch 20 horses to a buggy in 2016, fondness of anachronism is detrimental to growth.
Holding fast to the Errol Barrow vision of free School Meals in 2016 is counterproductive if the nutritional content of the 1970’s menu incurs diabetes in 2016.
My point is that while what was done in Barrows day was visionary then, armed with what we know now, abject loyalty to that vision is idiocy at best and treason to our people at worst.
Take off your blinkers and support what is right for the people

No other politicians ever came forward with new innovative ideas that would have prevented what we are now witnessing…the decay and degradation….which could have been avoided.
This lack of vision by DBLP politicians who insist on continuing to ape 50 year old traditions is destructive and continues to victimize the taxpayers.

Why don’t you and your DLP scallywags stop using that poor woman? OSA used her and now you lot are doing even worse by even abusing her.
If you see her as so great a contributor to national development why not stop treating her as a victim of Mia’s tyrannical acts and embrace her into the DLP’s inbreeding fold in need of much intellectually sound blood and moral sanguinity? She has already gotten the blessing and stated protection of the PM.
Why not advise Mr. Froon the fumbling fool to use the opportunity arising out of his much long promised and disgracefully overdue cabinet reshuffle to bring Ave Maria on board and out of the BLP cold by making her Minister of Health?
Now that would be a real slap in Mia’s face leading to lockjaw and the inability to neither speak nor bite.

Yes, AC, “Mia needs to come clean on this issue” about her LEC.
“According to the parliamentary recording, re-played on a jumbo screen for the rally audience, Sinckler objected at this point to Mottley’s claim and said, “I can categorically deny that I have any knowledge of, or information pertaining to any such matter between the Minister of Labour and the National Insurance”.” [Barbados Today, March 20, 2016]
But don’t you believe that Sinckler has to COME CLEAN when he allegedly lied about not having any knowledge relative to an increase in the stipends paid to members of the National Insurance Board, thereby misleading the House?
The information presented in today’s editions of the Sunday Sun and Barbados Today is compelling evidence to support Mottley’s claims. And I’m sure you will agree that this matter, whereby a member of parliament intentionally misleads the House is much more SERIOUS than a LEC?
But knowing the consortium of yard-fowls you will do your utmost best trying to convince BU that the document is fraudulent.

Why a glancing blow? Why not a full frontal attack on Mia’s honesty and integrity?
The same way people are stripped of their knighthoods why not strip Mia of her Queen’s Counsel designation.
Allan Stanford lost his knighthood why not the Queen of the Dishonest Bees Mia.
Go ahead and advise Lord Fumble the unmarried closet queer (odd) fella to do just that!

You do realize that since it became known to the Democratic Labour Party that the Barbados Labour Party and others heheheheheh were downloading copies of their videos for posterity that they have disabled ALL OF THE VIDEOS ON http://www.barbadosparliament.com/video/view/345.
Imagine that you could be sooooo dishonest that the very videos that chronicle how fantastic your estimates were/are that you now tek down from public viewing cause dem is national security matters!!!
The DLP is the single worse government this cuntry has ever seen, in fact, the are the worst the region has ever seen!!!

The LEC is just another “DLP red herring.”
The million dollar question is “why do members of this DLP administration continue to “tell nuff lies?”
Even the yard-fowls join the fray by writing their “time is spent administrating and managing a large company.”
Yuh hear lie, that is lie.
Mottley may the worst Opposition Leader, so far, in the history of Barbados. But she must be given kudos for waking up “Pit Bull Estwick” who remained silent or asleep through the many months people were complaining about water outages. It seems as though the plight of those Barbadians became apparent to Estwick only AFTER Mottley delivered a letter on their behalf to the BWA.
He responded by holding a “political spot meeting” under the guise of a press conference. Rather than empathize with the residents, he engaged in political posturing and the “political blame game.”
Estwick has now resorted to “propaganda tactics” by having CBC TV8 dedicate a segment of the “CBC Evening News” to the BWA.

AS far as the BLP is concerned everybody is a Liar a long overdone set of unfounded allegations being told by the BLP which the public have gotten used to hearing and has lostmost of the public interest (with few exceptions mostly yardfowls ) and the intent for which these stories should purpose
Mottley of all people should be the last to be calling anyone that( is anyone) a liar afterall she served as a high ranking member of a cabinet for 14 years that not only lied but committed all kinds of nefarious under hand dealings openly without fear of reprisal
As for Mottley in her exuberant an excessive political diatribe she should not forget HER past and the many allegations some of recent where the past leader of the BLP OSA accused her of Theft and being a person of questionable character yes she should not forget that her history of being a politician is not squeaky clean and there are many pot holes laying in her pathway that can lead to her down fall.

Again, kudos must be given to Mottley for not only exposing the lies and corruption of the DLP, but for providing DOCUMENTATION to SUBSTANTIATE her ALLEGATIONS.
Rather than hide behind the safe walls of parliament and using sly innuendos to accuse the BLP of “committing all kinds of nefarious under hand dealings openly without fear of reprisal,” the DLP is yet to present one shred of evidence as proof of any financial impropriety perpetrated by the BLP.
As I mentioned in a previous post, the DLP NEEDS to give any EVIDENCE they have of BLP corruption to the police and DPP in an effort to have those former ministers who were responsible for committing such acts charged and brought before the law courts.

Houston, we have a problem.
One both sides of the divide we have so called different parties but the same melee as my gf SSS says.
The challenge that we face in 2018 is going to be one of keeping it real and having choices of principled men and women which, frankly, does not seem to be on our ballot cards.
“A Few Good Men” is a hollywood movie that de ole man watch some time ago but there is a scene worth watching that deals with “truth” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FnO3igOkOk and Jack Nicholson gives a sterling monologue in that.
The fact is that as a country we have a serious problem that the fumbling Stuarts and the megalomaniac Mottleys seem, based on their cloying histories, unable or unwilling to fix.
So we the people find ourselves tossed between these two forces of nature where, every five years we are placed in the eye of a storm that paused for the requisite ballot taking/counting then starts again, its gale force winds, in the opposite direction, and we are in the midst of that malevolence agains the people of Barbados.
This shyte got to stop and this 50 year landmark should be a wakeup call for our people but unfortunately like Bush Tea and WW&C always remind us it does not seem like it will, because we “like um so”
