Well, the DPP said there was no case to answer and ordered the charge be withdrawn.

But, some recent news leaked out from the Police Force said there was a deliberate attempt to haul Mr Slinger over the fire and cause him embarrassment

[โ€ฆ]

โ€“ heโ€™s been accused of causing bad boy police Everton Gittens to be charged for Blues Knight killing โ€“ itโ€™s been described as the straw which broke the camelโ€™s back since Slingerโ€™s pen had been touching quite a few people including Speaker of the House Michael Carrington who should have been charged for keeping that poor man in the wheelchair money for over 14 years and Slinger has also been at the forefront of CLICOโ€™s Leroy Parris exposures.

In fact, Slingerโ€™s arrest and charging was orchestrated by Acting Assistant Superintendent Graham Husbands, one of the Commissioner of Police low-life cops who hail from St Lucy as well.

Husbands was heard telling some young detectives โ€“ go and bring his ass here, he like writing bout people, leh he write bout this.

Husbands also went on to curse and swear about Slingerโ€™s consistent writing about โ€œBluesโ€ death and even mentioned that the Nation newshound even started a day by day count-down on Bluesโ€™ death since no one had been charged.

He said this had caused a lot of pressure on the police to do something. Husbands even went on to say that it was Slinger who wrote story that police was trying to get Bluesโ€™ son who was shot as well to change his original statement.

The police investigations have been described by the DPP as shabby and without merit since close circuit video showed Slinger leaving the restaurant empty-handed. Also an inventory signed by Slinger and three other people showed clearly nothing was removed or stolen from the bar.

Apparently, Slinger was trying to assist Pizza Man Doc who owned the place against a bad tenant and fraud Jacqueline Proverbs who owed thousands of dollars in rent.

People who frequented the De Hype Bar said they have never even seen a long neck brandy or whisky as was reported stolen by her.

Another thing that went against the Nation Tim Slinger was that he is a personal friend of suspended commissioner Darwin Dottin who has been described as one of Husbandsโ€™ most hated people.

It all adds up, now we know what depth some police would sink to, to falsify charges.

Itโ€™s not the first time and it wouldnโ€™t be the last. You could be next.

  1. @ Bushie,

There was no reason to publish the image of the two teenagers apparently copulating.

If they were the children of white people the photo would not have been put in a newspaper.

@ bushtea & Gabriel…….. You two misunderstood my post. I was making reference to the little intern that was hired by the Barbados Nation publishing CO. She is the person who suffered immortal scars. She is the one who encountered the paedophile with the ever ready doggie. The one that was protected by this woman who someone claims has suffered some indignity. KKAARRMMAA! That much bushie, and it is you who recently reminded us that she is a bitch.

Bushie was looking forward to having a robust debate with Hamilton on this topic because, had he taken the position which Bushie THOUGHT he had, HE would have had a sound basis for such a contention and been a worthwhile foe in a debate…
    You…. NOT.

There is a time and place for everything ..even shiiteee..
Anyone doing shiiteee in a classroom, …at school, …with hundreds of school children, teachers, grounds staff etc around, is not doing shiiteee, but shiite….and clearly practising to be a porn star. If that is the sorta thing that you did, it may explain a lot….
    …but NOT stinking Bushie… OK??

So the Nation was ‘wrong’ because YOU did that kinda shiite too?!! …great logic…
As far as Bushie is concerned, the Nation is wrong when they fail to tell the truth either by telling lies, or by refusing to tell anything because it is ‘inconvenient’….

    @ Hants
There was no reason to publish the image of the two teenagers apparently copulating.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
If this was in PRIVATE, and out of school, …then maybe you have a point….
But there is a time and place for every shiite….OK?
If there is no reason to publish two rebels blatantly doing shiite in front of a whole class why is there reason to publish the CAHILL details? ..or the CLICO scam?
If you are prepared to RAISE UP children protected from the consequences of doing shiite …what gives you the EXPECTATION that when they grow up to be Fumble Froons and Stinkliars that they should be exposed then…?

It is EXACTLY that line of thinking that has gotten us where we are Boss….

RAISE UP A CHILD IN THE WAY IT SHOULD GO AND WHEN IT BECOMES PM IT SHALL NOT DEPART FROM IT. THE WHOLE POINT of being in school is to learn the rules of the world, and the consequences of infringement …in preparation for adult life.

    You ALSO said ..

I don’t know who you are but you must be the most pious person in Barbados.

You really think that two underage teenagers should have been punished by having their picture in the paper?

maybe they should have been sent to you for some old testament punishment like these boys.http://news.nationalpost.com/news/world/teen-brutally-beaten-to-death-by-parents-sister-and-church-members-in-bid-to-expose-sins-police-say

  14. Mr Bush Tea, this is your illogical sophistry in play. There are rules of engagement.

Minors are to be protected under the law. So whether you or I like it..it’s what it is .

The picture revelation has absolutely NOTHING to do with whether YOU did shiiiteee behind the rifle range or in Roebuck St or up by the Garrison or wherever you schooled at Cawmere. Or whether you did a different type of shiiite, or if it was In front the class or not.

That is irrelevant and you should know better than to try to redefine shiiiiteee by such dipsi-doodle logic.

There are valid reasons why 15 year old girls or boys CANNOT consent to sex with an adult under the law and should ideally not be named in those situations. So I suggest that there are similar valid reasons to ensure that they not be publicly branded when they misbehave sexually as in this manner.

You want to frame the actions of minors in such ‘hellacious’ terms to suggest that they deserve to be shamed in the paper under the guise that we need to show them the error of their ways now before they become the corrupt leaders of tomorrow.

Poor logic good sir. NO ONE suggested they should NOT be punished for their misdeeds.

I do no remember their ages but surely the lad could be charged with rape if the girl is under 16 and they both can be charged (or were) otherwise for their public nude and lascivious exposure.

The Nation did shiiiittee because they ran roughshod over all the conventions and rules that govern news dissemination of this type.

Your position is nothing more than hyperbolic grandstanding, playing to your adoring audience.

MINORS must be protected for their own good. They can’t be publicly shamed and vilified when acting out inappropriately and PARTICULARLY not by the same adult society that daily comports itself with the most disgusting and corrupt of behaviors.

These youths were or would have been punished.

The Nation’s action to display their images was inexcusable and did absolutely NOTHING to advance the debate on indiscipline in our schools.

Your points will only be valid if the warning by publication,to parents and guardians go unheeded, that is if parents do not hide behind the old’ not my daughter,’or ‘not my son’
attitude and if it is not a warning to all…parents, peers, teachers, administrators of the dangers of co-ed at primary and secondary level schools especially those schools which lack discipline and where teachers themselves are guilty of ‘interfering’ with young charges. It is not peculiar to Barbados and the right to know so as to take precaution is as important a lesson as the right to privacy but privacy in this matter has been compromised by factors of failure in the home and the environment of ‘wukkup’ and dance hall thuggery…dark shades, huge neck chains, way out head gear,Jamaican ghetto fodder, which adorn your favourite TV station CBC,the Pine compliments of wutless politicians aided by a wutless Fatted Calf Brigade.Wunna is socaholics and all that deviant wutlessness that define Barbados and infect the minds of the young people, confusing them and leading them astray and when it is made public you guys not only shoot the messenger, wunna want to kill and cure the message. To be forewarned is still to be forearmed. That is the message. If one gets exposed to save the many,it was worth the effort.

Would agree that we ought to guard the privacy of the minors whose malleable minds are still in the process of constructing the intellectual architecture which offers them the insight to make those valued judgments, but we still have to teach these minors the concept of personal responsibility and hold accountable and answerable for they indiscretions whenever possible.

Man Piece …you see why Bushie was hoping to argue with Hamilton now?
He is a logical and sensible fella… and here Bushie arguing with a fella who DEFINES himself as ingrunt…. ๐Ÿ™‚

Look Ingrunt, No one disputes the need for children to be ‘protected’. that does NOT mean that they should be protected from the consequences of THEIR malicious wrong doings… It means that they should be protected from the nastiness of OTHER wrong doers.

When children turn up in a school, they are there for many reasons.
They operate under rules and regulations.
They are part of an overall operation geared to LEARNING to be successful adults.

You probably never taught in a school, operated in an environment with hundreds of children or maybe even had any children (judging from your naivety), but when two children CHOOSE to do something like that in front of a whole class – with cameras…. it is not a matter of ‘misdeeds’ skippa…It is a matter of open defiance; of challenging authority; and of the breakdown of overall discipline.
The idea of protecting their identity, covering up for such deviants, and thereby encouraging others to try that …or even more outrageous shiite, is downright suicidal for overall discipline.

Good LEADERSHIP and overall SCHOOL discipline REQUIRES that such deviants are SEEN to suffer the consequences of their folly …. so that the other thousand students ALSO learn from that foolish error….

So if she became pregnant ..are you going to hide that too…?
If they spread STDs ..will you hide up THAT too
You EVER heard of HIV? …where will you hide that…?

    Finally
If you don’t think that adults have ANY right to discipline children because THEY too, have sinned – then you should start writing the ‘INGRUNT’ in your name in CAPITALS.
Often, some parents are BEST placed to guide their children PRECISELY because they have experienced the consequences of loose discipline. Perhaps it is BECAUSE the society is so messed up …. that the Nation felt moved to take such strong action to try to SAVE the next generation….your ‘hiding-up’ approach is what has got us where we are..

Bushie is NOT a Nation fan …. they are TRAITORS who have sold Barbados out to the Trickidadian OCM enemy of Caribbean enfranchisement…

I did not agree with the decision to expose their faces, nor did I support the action of bringing charges in that instance. I will not call names here but I do know of a certain teacher violating one of his charges right there on school premises. I am hundreds of miles away on Long Island and was privy to the intimate details of such downright betrayal of trust, not to mention the commission of the crime of statutory rape, and they were not? They didn’t want to know, because of the persons that low life paedophile knows. Lets not focus so much on the children and start to rectify the rotten system we got that continues to offer protection to the connected.

Should that child become delinquent sometime in the future, take a guess as to who helps to populate the finger pointing brigade? How come no one talks about the strip joints that are accommodated in the back rooms of certain rum shops and other places in Bim? Hard back stinking wutless old men with half hard doggies touch up girls who a couple hours later will make their way via a ZR van to some institution that tax dollars pay for. Lets talk about that. 29. Time to stop waxing lyrically and dive in at generating solutions. The behaviour of the children is just a symptom of societal delinquency.

  30. Listen! Some people in general have a strange concept of a child’s intelligence, they expect it to understand the most refined subtleties in Grammar, and the most unexpected turns and shifts of technology, and are afraid to hold it accountable and answerable for actions that it is capable of comprehending are wrong at a given age.

  31. de Ingrunt Word Avatar

@Mr Bush Tea, I embrace my ‘ingrunt’ moniker. A reminder of how much knowledge I need to seek it. If you sir are the one in our society charged with guiding the youth then we have grave problems. How can we as a society or even as verbal combatants be legitimate in the face of such blatant misdirection as you display here.

I respect your ability to speak with conviction. I am gravely disappointed how you choose to do so. Not a model for the youth surely!!!

Respectfully let me see if I can clarify. Sophistry is defined as: the use of fallacious arguments, especially with the intention of deceiving.

—–1. ” No one disputes the need for children to be โ€˜protectedโ€™. that does NOT mean that they should be protected from the consequences of THEIR malicious wrong doingsโ€ฆ .”

Really. So youth are NOT to be protected from themselves. I believe the law forcibly disagrees with you on that.

——2 “When children turn up in a school, … The idea of protecting their identity, … or even more outrageous shiite, is downright suicidal for overall discipline.”

The law SAYS they cannot be so identified. The LAW. There are rules of discipline.

——3 “Good LEADERSHIP and overall SCHOOL discipline REQUIRES that such deviants are SEEN to suffer the consequences of their folly โ€ฆ.” (The zenith of your sophistry).

It was also already clearly noted that “NO ONE suggested they should NOT be punished for their misdeeds…” Good leadership ALSO demands that we follow the RIGHT guidelines to discipline youth. Are you aware if they were suspended or expelled?

Or if the police dept. discontinued charges against them? Why would the principal or the Min of Dept, not have disciplined the youth? What does showing their image have to do with discipline?

——4 “So if she became pregnant ..are you going to hide that tooโ€ฆ?….You EVER heard of HIV? โ€ฆwhere will you hide thatโ€ฆ?”

And this is related to publicly showing their pic in what way, exactly?? Their images will dissuade the hundreds of Bajan youth from engaging in bad sexual practices despite years and years of shaming and other strong action by parents and teachers.

—–5. “If you donโ€™t think that adults have ANY right to discipline children because THEY too, have sinned… ” (Another zinger of your sophistry).

Revert to #3. “NO ONE suggested they should NOT be punished for their misdeeds….”

—–6 “Perhaps it is BECAUSE the society is so messed up โ€ฆ. that the Nation felt moved to take such strong action to try to SAVE the next generation”

Absolutely agree. ‘society is so messed up’. Your ability to operate in this blatantly erroneous way by dismissing the facts of what has been said and simply restating your hyperbole is a clear example of that.

You like the Nation are tapping into a vein of discontent and trampling on basic rights. In your case you simply employ intellectual dishonesty in your writing and discourse.

Incidentally, I can only presume that you are aware of the youth I taught or my involvement with youth for many years based on that excellent looking glass you use.

@ David…… a small fish like me wouldn’t know where to begin at trying to craft any solution. What I know is this. When a mother puts her job at risk by taking off from work two and a half days consecutively seeking justice for her young daughter and has her every effort stymied by the very figures of authority placed there to protect, and in other instances protect and serve, where is she to turn? Naked Departure or Facebook? I cuss this stinking government and they saw it fit to remove the traffic mirror from the corner of Hunt’s Road while leaving the others intact, perhaps hoping for a car or bus on Belmont Road to eat some family member of mine. For the poor and the frustrated the solution is to shut the hell up and tek it.

  33. Ingrunt

It would appear as though we have failed in our efforts to inculcate the Four-Core -Principles of Teaching to the modern pupil:
    (1) Respect
    (2) Responsibility
    (3) Results
    (4) Rewards

  34. de Ingrunt Word Avatar

@David, your “Time to stop waxing lyrically and dive in at generating solutions. The behaviour of the children is just a symptom of societal delinquency”.

    Generating solutions means that:

    — teachers are indicted and jailed for interfering with the boys and girls in the schools.
–the CCB are more zealous with their activities to combat the difficulties many youth are facing
    — that there are sustained outreach programs to avoid youth coming into school sans breakfast and other basics and forcing a dedicated teacher at school X or Y to organize funds among friends to alleviate the problem
    — youth are not just pushed through the system with social promotions but the deep issues of fundamental illiteracy are addressed

That’s a tip of the iceberg and we as the custodians of the future of our youth allow it to widen at its base.

Can we sit here and honestly believe that there are no Dennis Hastert stories in Barbados where a respected figure has in the past molested children under his charge, for example

Yes David we do need to deep dive. Not so much to generate solutions – cause many good ones are out there already – but we definitely need to implement them and to clean up our act.

It’s easy to find voice to lambaste two teenagers for doing what every group of teenagers have done since there was a classroom in Barbados. It’s was wrong when we were young and those caught were punished – often severely.

As Hants alluded to above now too those caught are punished but why has the cry to denounce gotten so loud from us elders.

And there was a video posted in a blog from Mr Pacha some time back which gives very provocative solutions on this whole matter of education. Eye-popping good results actually. Not completely applicable but adaptable.

  35. David

The antiquated argument that the society is responsibility or culpable for the ill- conduct of the child isn’t enough to justify his or her self defeating behaviour, when we have the majority of our young people doing the right thing.

The egregious conduct of a child is more often than not due in part to the lack of the proper family values and the want of personal responsibility regarding the child in my judgment.

And finally, I am not unhearing of peer pressure and the influence it brings to bear upon a child who has been reared correctly.

  36. @David, for all those who share Bush Tea’s zealous advocacy of the correctness of publicly disciplining these youths here are two examples of how can become so overzealous as to be absolutely insanely heavy handed. I paraphrase a judge below to this Nation pic case: If we cannot recognize the injustice of what has occurred here then we have lost sight of the goal of justice being served in a fair and equal manner.

Over zealous prosecutors, Bush Men and a hypocritical society!

—1) “A 19-year-old Indiana man landed on the sex offender registry in two states after using an app to hook up with a girl who lied about her age….Zach Anderson of Elkhart, Ind., used the “Hot or Not” app to connect with a 14-year-old Michigan girl who told him she was 17, CNN reported.

Anderson had sex with the girl, and was later arrested….A judge sentenced Anderson to six months in jail and five years probation โ€” and placed him on the sex offender list in both Indiana and Michigan for 25 years.

As a result, Zach is not allowed to live at home with his 15-year-old brother and his parents. He is forbidden to go to the mall or walk around the park…

Despite the fact the girl and the girl’s mother pleaded for leniency, the judge stood firm, chastising Zach for using the Internet in such a way…”That seems to be part of our culture now,” Judge Dennis Wiley said, according to CNN. “Meet, have sex, hook up, sayonara. Totally inappropriate behavior. There is no excuse for this whatsoever.”…

A former judge told CNN that putting many teens on the sex offender list with real monsters does not solve anything….”If we caught every teenager that violated our current law,” former Judge William Buhl told the network, “we’d lock up 30 or 40 percent of the high school. We’re kidding ourselves.”

—-2) “A judge … ordered the release of a man who is serving a widely criticized 10-year prison sentence without parole for having consensual oral sex with a 15-year-old girl when he was 17โ€ฆIn his ruling on Monday, Judge Thomas H. Wilson…said it would be a โ€œgrave miscarriage of justiceโ€ for Mr. Wilson (no relation) to have to serve the remaining eight years of his sentence.

โ€œIf this court, or any court, cannot recognize the injustice of what has occurred here,โ€ the judge wrote, โ€œthen our court system has lost sight of the goalโ€ of โ€œjustice being served in a fair and equal manner.โ€ …

It was in 2005 that a jury found Mr. Wilson guilty of a felony for having received consensual oral sex from a 15-year-old girl at a drug- and alcohol-fueled New Yearโ€™s Eve party two years earlier.

Under a โ€œRomeo and Julietโ€ provision in the law, Mr. Wilson would have been guilty of only a misdemeanor had the act been intercourse. But no one had thought to include oral sex in that exception when the law was enacted, and after the trial, jurors said they had been unaware of the 10-year minimum for the felony.”

Time to stop waxing lyrically and dive in at generating solutions. The behaviour of the children is just a symptom of societal delinquency.
    ……………………………………………………………………………………………..

Chuckle……..you just gave the symptom(to which I agree),so the obvious answer is to adhere/impose the various laws/rules/regulations on the various books that litter the offices responsible for the management of this fair land of ours.

It is not rocket science,my peers(Including Bush Tea) and the ones before are responsible for where we are,we saw it coming from the ’60’s and did nothing or not sufficient,we sat at meetings and gave warnings as to what would happen an thought that was sufficient. We are reaping now………

    Well Well & Consequences

The Bushman….. none of that will stop children from having sex, we all know or should, what having sex looks like, we don’t need to see two children who are minors, rutting away, it was in bad taste, the kids could have still been punished without the photos…..there, I did not use not even a little bit of emotion to say that…..lol

  39. I am prepared to be corrected, but were not the pictures published with the faces blurred such that identification was not possible unless you were there or participating?

Was not also the intention of publishing the pictures an attempt to encourage a nation of people who seem generally unable or unwilling to mobilise themselves to take action on anything unless shocked out of their torpor and apathy by extreme measures to do so?

Clearly even that didn’t work as the situation seems to have got worse, not better.

Perhaps a bit more public ‘naming and shaming’ rather than private ‘accepting and protecting’ would act as a deterrent for the ever willing participants, their recorders and social network broadcasters. That is, unless the parents and families of those ‘caught in the act’ could not care less.

  40. Let us agree what we have been doing up to now is not working.

  41. The bottomline is that minors aren’t operating with a full deck of cards, and we must treat them as such if we are bent on understanding they thought process.

These malleable balls of clay have never been good at listening to their elders, but they have never failed to model, imitate and emulate the behaviour of the elders.

Now the 60’s 70’s and the early part of the 1980’s, should have taught us that the enforcement of the rules through corporal punishment did more harm than good to the Psyche of the minor Vincent.

  42. David

Now let us be honest, is there really a definite solution to be sought after that would address the indifference among our young people today?

Yes, it has been sought after in the past but never really gained any real traction as for as I am concerned.

And until empirical evidence gives way to truth, such a solution or solutions to the youth indifference are like tumble weeds tossed and turned by the wind, and finally buried under a pile of rubbish.
Only an utopian ideologue would conceive a solution or solutions which would unilaterally address the natural impulse of the youth.

    @ Donkey

for 36 hours I thought that the Blogmaster had finally blogged your scvnt

Idiot Savant your incoherent suggestion would make most of us parents, and grandparents who forever “unilaterally try to conceive a solution to address the natural impulses of youth”, Utopian Ideologues, wouldn’t it?

It is the diurnal struggle and task that we parents, who try to deliver such a value system, and ethos that will guide our progeny, struggle with Dufus.

Failing that “hope springing eternal in our human hearts” elusive journey, not to pursue it would mean that we could just as well say to them “go out there and do wunna ting”, like how your ingrunt govment of the DLP doing heah wid de economy.

Can you get that through your rock stone head Fenty?

And please, when next you say that you going dun posting heah pun BU, I know it hard, but let the rest of us “Keep Hope Alive” in short, leh we cyberspace sojourners and utopian ideologues jes be happy fuh a while nuh??

I am amazed that a man of your presumed intelligence would even entertain the thought of respond to a of man primitive intelligence?

Which leads me to ask this question: Is it reasonable to supposed that your failing attempted assault my character signal a far deeper effort to compensate for some deepseated inadequacy you are harbouring?

Listen! I am puzzled but not surprised that a man who regularly quotes the Sacred Text conveniently of course, would resort to one of the two anthithetical impulses which arises out of man’s nature.

  45. LOL @ Piece
While you are of course correct about Dompey, Bushie was beginning to enjoy his exchanges with Dee Ingrunt Word ..since they have been equally logical and enlightening….

  48. @Bush Tea October 17, 2015 at 7:31 AM “when two children CHOOSE to do something like that in front of a whole class โ€“ with cameras”

What if it did not happen as you surmise?

What if the girl was persuaded by the boy to let him have a piece in an empty classroom after school. [this would not be the first or the last time that a school girl was so persuaded by a schoolboy. It happen so in the good old days too]

What if unknown to the girl, the boy invited his friends to witness the activity. [This would not be the first nor the last time that a male wanted to show off his prowess to his male buddies. Male showing off happened in the good old days too.]

What if unknown to the boy or the girl the “friends” turned up with cameras? [Except in the good old days there was only one camera per parish in Barbados, and developing and publishing photographs took hours with plenty of time for sober second thoughts, and there was no internet so the likelihood of someone recording and publishing our teenaged naughtiness was just about zero]

  49. I bet that Bush Tea did something in his teens that he is thankful remains a secret until now.
