Her lies and corruption have no bounds .i call on all bloggers to join in letting any potential investors to do their due diligence well and pay nothing to her for the privilege!! She has scammer people for more than 2 years now Don’t be her next victim.

  2. Mockingbird

I thought that Minister Lowe’s mother already got his award

  3. Seriously::::::;::
If this. Nautilus group want to purchase this dead duck project I assume the government have to approve the novation of the contract??
I wonder if the crazy woman will be obliged to stay and oversee the contract??

  4. @GlennK August 26, 2015 at 2:22 PM #

If alterNrg are demanding she take all references to them off her web and documents how come BU havenโ€™t been asked to take down the CIM ???
Also all the other companies and suppliers that are referenced on the CIM????
If the alter NRG plasma is a non runner then the contract needs to be voided and returned to the government……………………………

Agreed, here is a way out of this sordid mess for this moronic government…..but alas they will hold on to the very last as the players still need to get for which they bargained.

  5. The use of proceeds should be a matter of public record ???
Plus the tax office will need to be informed for currency and exchange exemption clearance plus the IRS in the USA will need to be advised
But then again the Guernsey shell company will be used to avoid all this and we here who can’t even get our tax rebates refunded to us will have to sit and watch while the government allow this criminal fraudster steal money from in front of our noses.

The auditor general needs to his job and the land transfer needs to be blocked .

  6. A pilot project in Hawaii generates electricity from the temper differential between warm surface sea water and the colder water found at depth and is supposedly producing promising results. If it pans out, seems like it would be a more suitable and sustainable way to go for a small island state, rather than gassifying and burning our garbage.

Worldโ€™s Largest Ocean Harvesting Clean Energy Power Plant Goes Live

Hawaii is definitely ahead of the curve when it comes to renewable energy. In June, the Aloha state became the first state to mandate that all of its electricity come from renewable sources no later than 2045. Along with other islands, its charging ahead with wind, solar and smart grid systems. But now, the state is home to the first fully closed-cycle Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) plant in the U.S.

OTEC is โ€œa process that can produce electricity by using the temperature difference between deep cold ocean water and warm tropical surface waters,โ€ Makai Ocean Engineering, the company that built the plant, explains on its website. โ€œOTEC plants pump large quantities of deep cold seawater and surface seawater to run a power cycle and produce electricity.โ€ Makai touts OTEC as a constant, clean energy source that is โ€œcapable of providing massive levels of energy.โ€

Watch this short video for an explanation of how it works:

    (Embedded video at link below)

    snip

The 105-kilowatt demonstration plant on the Big Island, which cost about $5 million to build, only generates enough electricity to power 120 homes. But to date, itโ€™s the largest such plant in the world. And itโ€™s promising enough for the U.S. Navy to be investing in it. The Navy has a target for 50 percent of its shore-based energy to come from alternative sources in five years.

While the industry is still very much in its infancy, Makai believes it wonโ€™t be long until it takes off.

โ€œThe plant is dispatchable, meaning the power can be ramped up and down quickly to accommodate fluctuating demand and intermittent power surges from solar and wind farms,โ€ Hartman told Bloomberg.

  7. Are we seriously going to allow this fraudster make millions of dollars out if this deal
Mia launched the campaign to halt this mysterious carpetbagger but has been painfully absent in the fight of late.
This off the grid scammer needs to be stopped from messing with our GRID.
Mia please engage with the people to fight this scammer.
The land transfer is key to killing this shamefully corrupt woman and our namby pamby ministers …

  8. The political class has it within their capacity to take this Cahill matter to the high court.Given the length of time it takes to navigate the system there,it’s one sure way of snagging this project. But since this is such an obvious solution, our political class is at the moment without the services of a Grantley Adams or an Errol Barrow.I see 2 covered barrels.Barrel 1 is marked in bold on the cover:DLP.Barrel 2 is similarly marked :BLP.Upon opening 1,the smell is most offensive, like untreated fish offal in the fish market.Opening 2,is no different to the smell emanating from barrel 1…..on this Cahill thing we the citizens seem to have no one who will defend our children’s’ inheritance.

  9. She is skating on thin ice but may reach the finish line if we don’t act soon
We need to reach out to all those she owes money to and get them to file a lein on her condo and sue the Guernsey company Blenheim and her law firm for duplicity under their PI insurance

Nautilus must be either crazy or stupid to deal with this calus mean spirited crazy person .

  11. @ Gabriel
    You are a legal beaver….
Perhaps YOU can provide some logical reason why, after having launched her broadside at the Budget sessions, Mia has not followed up with meaningful LEGAL action to unravel this shiite…?
….and it can’t be for any damn lack of her legal certificate either ….

If you suggest that she may have determined that the matter was more politically advantageous to her if left out of court, then you may also want to speculate as to whether such a person portends to be a good national leader….or if Owen was right…

  12. @ Bush Tea: Does she have the required documents in her possession to take this matter to Court?

  13. Bush Tea
How beautifully put. What tenor of language kind sir!.You must have had Cully and George among your authors of choice.

  14. Didn’t Lenny St.Hill suggest at the Future Trust town hall there is a legal case to be made if the government moves ahead?

BU warns MIA in a member of the political class.

  15. @ Gabriel
Man stop laughing at Bushie do!!
The Bushman just reads people like yourself, pieceuhderock and other BU luminaries…
Of course AC and Dompey comes in handy too …in learning what NOT to do … ha ha ha

    @ Heather
    What documents are those bozie…?
This is Barbados…. and she has legal standing.
All she needs is a damn computer or pen to write an affidavit …( or just copy info from BU ) and pay a retainer to one of her lawyer friends who have the damn legal certificate… ๐Ÿ™‚
…probably Nicholls – he like that kinda sport.

    …but then again…. ๐Ÿ™‚

  16. HA! HA! when Mia opens her mouth the sh,it flies every way and except for the BLP propagandist no one else bothers to step in her poo,

  17. The Facebook page Bajans Against $700 million Waste to Energy Plant just welcome Minister Donville Inniss to the group.

  18. Mia raised the matter in the House on Tuesday………….I think she will wait in vain for that man they call the PM to speak to the matter.

Strange that Donville would join up “Bajans Against $700 Million Waste to Energy Plant”.

After Mia’s revelation, he asked the government to speak out on the deal.

    Strange, stranger, strangest.

  19. are-we-there-yet Avatar
    are-we-there-yet

    Prodigal;

Not just strange! Sounds like pure BS

  20. Did anyone see Denis Lowe in attendance at today’s sitting of the house?

  21. Surely the fact that the Cowan woman has brought this government into disrepute has to be a breach and gives these idiots the out they need to kill this contract .
Also after 18months surely she must have timed herself out on contracted milestones simply because she has done nothing with the project other than making an idiot of herself on the island.
An EOT is the only way she can make this work ????
Tuesday is the 1st of September
Where is all the earth moving equipment so the construction can start as she stupidly proclaimed before .

The land transfer is key in stopping this fraud from happening. MIA you need to do something now!!!!!!!!!!

  22. How can anything start???
Has she applied for a tax exemption certificate???
If Stantec are working for her are they doing it at risk??? If she collapses then who will pay the tax bill which Stantec should be billing her as she has not applied for a waiver???

This is all a ” wing and a prayer” effort
How can the government continue to support a NON company flouting our laws and bringing the country into disrepute????
Infrastar has to have asked for Cahill’s credentials and accounts as part of the DD efforts
She is pennyless they must realise this .
The PPA and the IA agreements are all she has and as it stands they are worthless if the government put her on notice that she has breached the conditions of those contracts
The fact that the CIM is on this site is more than enough evidence of default and or breach ……………

  23. I invited Donville Inniss to the group as a person who is supportive of the Green Energy and not Green Washing. On behalf of the https://www.facebook.com/groups/Corruptionbarbados/ we wish Dr Denis Lowe a speedy recovery if he is indeed unwell. Its hoped the coming Anti Cahill Plasma Gasification international and local media blitz will evoke a response from GOB

  25. COLUMN โ€“ . . . Some waste of a project!
Added by Barbados Today on July 18, 2015.
    Saved under Column

buckstopsThe recent impasse between the Government and the unions this week, and the threatened shutdown of the country brought back to me the famous story of how Solomon dealt with two women who came to him claiming that a child was theirs.

For those of you who donโ€™t know the story, the synopsis is that both women had a child at the same time, but one of the children died, and each woman claimed that the live one was hers. So they brought the child to Solomon, both putting forward their cases convincingly.

Solomon, being the wisest man who ever lived, came to a decision: he pronounced that the child should be cut in half.

The woman, who was the mother of the child, obviously preferring not to see her child harmed, requested that the child be given to the other woman instead, so that the child would live.

When the country was on the brink of a national shutdown, the Government in this case gave up its right to fight in the interest of Barbados and gave in to the other side who have claimed a victory. But I wonder at what cost in the long term?

Having said, that I hope that this same Government will give up its rights to proceed with this Cahill waste to energy project. I say โ€œrightsโ€, but, from all I have heard, that term is questionable at best.

As a resident of St Thomas and a citizen of Barbados, I went to the town hall meeting which was organized by the Future Centre Trust at Lester Vaughan School on Tuesday night. I was surprised to find the hall full of concerned citizens when I arrived, and Iโ€™m sure they were not all from St Thomas.

Some members of the audience at Lester Vaughan School last night.
Some members of the audience at Lester Vaughan School earlier this week.

We got a very eye-opening presentation from Professor Paul Connett about the hazards of this waste to energy process, which requires temperatures of 5,000 degrees to burn organic and other waste to produce energy. If the thought of those temperatures contained in a furnace in the middle of St Thomas is not enough to scare you, the information about the emissions on nanoparticles and other things that were over my head, would be enough to put the fear of God in anyone.

What was even more enlightening is that we have alternatives available to us, which negate the need for such a drastic plan. Mark Hill of Innogen shared that Barbados has enough solar and wind energy to produce electricity for a large percentage of the country.

Almost every house and property in Barbados that has hot water is now powered by the sun and a growing number of houses are generating their own electricity though solar voltaic cells (albeit they have to sell it back to the Barbados Light & Power). What would it take for every house in Barbados to have its roof covered with solar voltaic panels creating enough electricity to power the entire home?

In the same way that incentives were given to encourage the use of solar panels for hot water, surely they could be offered to encourage the purchase of solar voltaic panels. While that would no doubt reduce Governmentโ€™s revenue from personal taxes, it would also reduce the same power bill that this waste to energy plant is purported to do โ€“โ€“ and a lot more cleanly.

The town hall meeting showed me a number a things. One, I need to reduce my garbage output. I already take my plastics and bottles to Bโ€™s Recycling; but there is a business opportunity for someone to collect paper and ship it overseas for recycling.

When I see how quickly the newspapers pile up in my house, and the cereal boxes (weโ€™re big cereal eaters), which all go to make up my numerous bags of garbage, I am now appalled. Then there is the organic waste that we generate!

As soon as I came back from the meeting, I talked to my husband about buying a composter to convert our organic material to rich soil that we can use in our herb garden. I am convinced that we donโ€™t need a garbage incinerator. We need to start educating the public about how to reduce, reuse and recycle; and we need a collection system that facilitates that.

The second thing I realized is that, in addition to brilliant scientists, the room was full of ordinary citizens, all of whom were in agreement that this plant was not even an option for Barbados. That was even before we heard remarks from the former Chief Town Planner Lennie St Hill who shared that the Government did not even follow the proper procedure to change the proposed use of the land at Vaucluse in the first place.

So I am astounded at how an agreement could be written to start a plant on land which has not been approved for that type of development. What is even more amazing is the fact that the agreement is supposedly binding whether or not the plant goes ahead. Makes you wonder if the agreement is legally binding?

So, in the same way that this Government could back down from the unions in the interest of โ€œsavingโ€ Barbados from the harm of a national shutdown, how much more should they be willing to give up the idea of this insane project in the interest of preserving their โ€œbabyโ€ โ€“โ€“ our beautiful island?

Cahill WTE mght have been a good idea for Barbados if the entire process was tranparent and the company at the forefront of this project had some reputability of expertise. The fact, too that the price tag continued to rise and the goverment ministers at the centre of this travesty have carved characters of infamy for themselves, the amount of skepticsm and charges laid are substantiated by the silence of this government and the defenses articulated that are nothing short of stupid and rehearse. It would be better if the government admit their faults and look more open mindedly at the alternatives. Anything less than that will push them further into the pit of stupidity for which their behaviours vvalidates such apt labelling.

  27. Actually the biggest scam about the Cahill project has been the response by miniser Lowe et al to the rising cost and the assurance given to Barbadians it will not cost them a cent. Who will have to guarantee the ROI on the project?

    JAs

  28. Cahill wanted $700M while Paul Bynoe of B`sRecycling wanted $35M who would you lend to? Would a minister accompanying you to meeting with Capital Corp Bark help and if so which minister would be bold enough to do such a thing? helphttp://www.capitalcorpmerchantbanking.com/

  29. The way to redeem themselves is to not allow the land to be transfered .
Without the site transfer the project will die .
Any ensuing legal battle with Cahill if is does exist after this fiasco has to be cheaper than dealing with the this nonsense project

  30. So the loweman is sick again?

So sorry to hear but he behaved like he made himself back during he budget debate……. went down into the gutter to try to insult MAM…….produce your legal certificate or else………….get well soon loweman!

  31. I hope he’s as sympathetic to the sick people living with the $700m time bomb

  32. Sunny Sunshine Shine Avatar
    Sunny Sunshine Shine

Correct me if I am wrong but is there not a pattern to Dennis Lowe’s sickness? Seems to me he gets sick at every controversy involving him. No better way to avoid facing the music then to say you were not able too because of wellness issues.

  33. How did we go from a proposed energy park which is a wonderful idea to a full blown timebomb called Cahill energy in one fell swoop without a single ITB or tendering process????
Seventh heaven properties must have offered one hell of an incentive to the government to introduce this cshill woman to the ministers !!!!!!
Is it true that the PM deliberately went missing the day of the signing of the contract and the scramble to find the 4 ministers to sign was orchestrated by minister Lowe?????
The PM must have known this was going to be a nightmare in the making !!!!

  34. Pm goes missing on the day of the signing!!!!
Minister Lowe goes sick everyttime a difficult question re the farce comes up

Will his sickness cause a contract default that we will be paying for for years to come????
    This all smacks of complicity!!!!!!!

  35. Keep pushing MIA
Only thing I would say is its not an MOU its an IA and a PPA
Mou’s are usually a pre cursor to an agreement.
The 4 ministers signed a full blown IA and PPA
Which need to be challenged and struck down ……

  36. Does infrastar really think they can make this project happen???
They need to realise she is in it for a quick buck ….
She will scam them just like she scammed all those who believed her bs and believe me she can come across as believable !!! That’s the only thing she is is good at ***** spinning tales and getting people who are normally very astute and clever to believe her BS********
Her lawyers are either very good or very stupid for after all its the lawyers are the only people who will win in this farce as usual ….

  37. RastaR

Please post a link(s) showing Infrastar/Nautilus connection to Cahill Cowan

  38. The English version of Wikipedia is quite optimistic about plasma gasification (ps). Maybe “cleaned”? Only the subsection “Plasma gasification commercialization” sounds quite critical. Other Language versions of Wikipedia are less optimistic. For example the German wikipedia. It states:
    – ps is primarily for hazardous waste
    – there might be dioxins in the remaining ash
    – small plants (3-5 tons garbage per day) do not create additional electricity
    – a Westinghouse plant, built 2003, had frequently to be stopped due to malfunction
    – the technology is not properly tested and very expensive
The discussion says: Siemens company abandoned the technology since it is too complex.

  39. Too complex for the largest engineering conglomerate in Europe; but not for Cahill/Cowan and the four rocket scientists who signed the contract.

  40. @Alvin

You really need to shut up if you have not been following the Cahill matter. Clare Cowan herself admitted at the last Cahill Open House the plant will cost about BDS700 million.

  41. SEPTEMBER 1ST MS COWAN WHERE IS THE CONSTRUCTION TEAM
    SADLY YOU ARE DELUDED
MINISTERS PLEASE PUT US OUT OF OUR MISERY AND TELL THIS fraudster TO GO HOME AND NEVER COME TO OUR ISLAND AGAIN

    How can anything start???
Has she applied for a tax exemption certificate???
If Stantec are working for her are they doing it at risk??? If she collapses then who will pay the tax bill which Stantec should be billing her as she has not applied for a waiver???
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I recall reading somewhere that the EIA is the responsibility of the Governments, so subject to correction, Stantec is working for Government and not Cahill/Cowan. One of the very amusing moments at the last open house was when Cowan tried to get Mr. Hutchinson of Stantec to field a question which had nothing at all to do with the EIA and he absolutely refused to respond. My knowledge of Stantec indicates that they are a very professional firm so I think we can expect a very high quality EIA.

  43. @Glennk
On page 21 of the Confidential Information Memorandum of March 2015 it says “The GoB is responsible for submitting an Environmental Impact Assessment ……………..”

  44. Sorry Nostradamus u are incorrect
It’s the responsibility of the contractor to produce the EIA
Stantec are not the EPC contractor and are not qualified to do the entire EIA they could assist no doubt but its the likes of technip who were touted as the EPC contractor 2 years ago to do the EIA as said before it will take 6 months minimum to produce the bones of the EIA for approval and public consultation
This woman is an embarrassment to say the least.
Alter NRG have told her to take a hike so who will be the plasma technology provider ??? Choosing the technology provider and EPC contractor should have been done before the signing of the contracts and if not there should have been a milestone of 90 days post signing to agree and select these pivotal components of this project
    Its a farce beyond farces

  45. The government did supply the sitewide EIA which was done by Burnside
Even that EIA has not been properly approved! There are a list of questions which the planning department have registered with the government which still have not been addressed.
The waste to energy site specific EIA has NOT yet been started. And can’t start until a contractor is selected and process development begins

    This really is a joke

  46. are-we-there-yet Avatar

    Mockingbird;

What you are saying at 12:03 pm is what I have myself worked out to have been the most likely scenario from the information in the public domain.

A sitewide EIA was done and submitted to Government.

That sitewide EIA must trigger responses from various Government agencies across a number of ministries.

Nothing should go forward unless the concerns of the various government agencies are properly addressed.

If you are correct that questions raised by agencies such as Planning, Energy and the Environment have not yet been addressed it begs the further question as to how and under what authority did the 4 ministers go ahead and sign on to the Cahill project without all the questions in the site specific EIA being addressed.

The whole book on procedures for projects such as this one would have rubbished by the authorities!

The situation may be even more dire and potentially catastrophic to this Government than most of us imagined.

It has to be a nightmare.

  47. Problem with this whole thing is the government have struck down all the norms of project execution by agreeing to circumvent laws ,procedures, safety and all that goes with good contract management.
If this thing goes through we will be amending laws for the next 5 years to accomadste this bullshit contract.

  48. Interesting piece on corruption iceberg
Way to many similarities to this Cahill farce
Big difference is the ability to pay !!!!
Cahill is a pennyless shell company playing with the bigtime players like nautilus renewables surely when they scratch the surface they will see she is a fraudster and a scam artist
Also the ministers who signed this fraud setup should resign and go back to doing what they did badly before they decided to play with our lives and futures in politics .

  49. Surely there has to be a way to cansel this ridiculous farce
MIA you need to call this cabinet out and expose this fraud further.
If this new Jersey investment house haven’t seen what this this is really about its our responsibility to inform them.
I urge all readers to contact them and let them know what they are getting involved in
Her reign of commuting these atrocities needs to be halted
The government will do nothing …. We need to act on our own in the best interest of our islands future.
