CBC News Staff Worried About Michelle Arthur Becoming Director of News

Does Michelle Arthur have the inside track to take over as Director of News ?

Does Michelle Arthur have the inside track to take over as Director of News ?

There could be a strike or some kind of protest at CBC soon. Staff of the news and current affairs department are waiting to see who the board is going to appoint to head the department. Arnon Dyal has  been acting as director of news since Reudon Eversley resigned this year but he is supposed to go on retirement at the end of this month.

Michelle Arthur has been walking about telling people the prime minister promised her the job and the staff are awaiting to see if this will happen. Michelle Arthur is trouble. Few people at CBC like her. She has caused a lot of confusion and problems. The last time she was appointed to act in the position when Reudon Eversley was on study leave, she lasted two days. The staff walked out on her and CBC changed its mind. She walked about telling people it hurt because she was president of the BWU division and fight for staff and the staff did not stand up for her.

Staff have many issues with Michelle Arthur. She is behaving like she is the news director already. Every day now she parks in the yard in the spot for the Director of News and Current Affairs like she is sending a message. Michelle Arthur has created a lot of confusion and strife at CBC. Staff are worried that if she is appointed she will terrorise people because she terrorising people already as assignments editor. If she likes you, you can do what you like like her child father Sean Farrell who came into CBC one day and threatened to lick her up. If she does not like you, she walks over you and tries to make you look small in front of everybody. Shane Sealy can tell you. She has been trying real hard to get him out of CBC. The administrative assistant can tell you about Michelle Arthur and her childish behaviour.

We wonder if the Dems know the real Michelle Arthur. She has been sucking up to the DLP since they came to power but the same Michelle Arthur used to suck up to the BLP when they were in power. She used to say in the newsroom that Owen Arthur is her family. If the DLP believes that Michelle Arthur is a true Dem she got them fooled. Michelle Arthur is for Michelle Arthur. The staff in the news department are dead serious they are not working with her. Anybody else but not that woman.

  1. I believe this story 100%, this woman aint easy.
She is a real strife maker. I aint vex wid wunna.
    STRIKEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. “Michelle Arthur used to suck up to the BLP when they were in power. She used to say in the newsroom that Owen Arthur is her family.”

She has acquired the taste for shoite eff she licking both parties asses. Well she could be fambily to Owen and speaking de trut! Wha wrong wid wunna peoples. Eff dat ent a paling hen den I blind as bat.

  3. Instead of making students pay tuition fees fumble struart a.k a the sleeping giant and poochie sinckler could have made cuts at CBC or sell if and leave the University alone. Poor Barrow legacy.

  4. I know the woman, and I can tell you that all the writer states I have already heard plus a lot more, she has the qualifications yes, but a person like Michelle is bad new for the CBC, she is a woman who used to state openly who she slept with to get what, and whether or not they did a good job too, a popular man at the riverside can attest to that, she gave him a failing grade in the bed and had all the staff laughing at him for a long time.

She is trouble, too full of herself and too childish as well. Sean Farrell has to be sorry he horned him for girl friend and former colleague for her. Michelle made her life hell and eventually she resigned.

  5. This is the problem with women in the work place. You can be sure its bare women attacking Michelle on this blog.If they ‘en like ya,ya in duck’s guts and the whole organization could sink for them.

  6. Perhaps David , you should transfer this submission to Pudding and Souse, or to the Market Vendor.

  7. @ Colonel Buggy

I agree, another smear campaign from persons with axes to grind.

  8. On the one hand, if there were a pro-active voice tha was able to get the readership and in your face attention like BU, i would be the first to say post it somewhere else.

But i think that we have to give BU its due, for whereas the other media are either (i) abdicating their duties (ii) under reporting or (iii) reporting with an obvious bias, for the most part everyone is able to come here and sound off .
“Underground swells”, in this climate of suppression and victimization, are interestingly enough, a healthy thing for the cloistered,Orwellian construct that the real world of living in Barbados has been and continues to be.

I will give you an example of sounding off.

I have been mentioning the constant state of readiness that Barbados Security Forces are observing.

I have mentioned the assistance that the US Government has given and continues to give to the Government of Barbados regarding the coup.plan

Go down to the Carenage tomorrow, or any given day of the week, wait on the board walk for a couple hours.on any given day and watch the coast guard as they effect that regular/irregular “sweep of the bay” looking for “payloads” some of which already entered Barbados, by other routes

THe staff at CBC, like Fumble and Stinkliar find themselves “caught between a rock and a hard place”

The former have no other recourse than to come her and to expose their linen in front of the world hoping that among the many who will visit the site, it may be viewed by the people who need to see it, confident in the fact that they can use the anonymity of this pen name pretence to voice their concerns while hiding from the victimization that living and working in Barbados is.

I know, how they must sling in the shadows for, as one of the chief pretenders, look how i come here and hide behind this banner of a modified “no entry” sign emblazoned across the Barbados that i love and which, like so many other Bajans, I have found myself debarred from,.

The latter group, albeit incompetents in their own governmental role, find themsellves be-saddled with the thrice enhanced version of the “Symplegades” those Clashing Rocks, which Jason and his Argonauts had to avoid.

On the one hand one of the clashing stones is a global meltdown over which they have had no control, on the other side they have a local economy which Head Boy Boyce, Lost Boy Sealy, Fumble “Rip Van Winkle” Stuart and Buffalo Sinckliar seem incapable of managing.

They cannot come out and say what they have found, fearful that such disclosure will undermine “investor confidence” FURTHER and consequently the “dwindling tourists numbers”, (aided in no small part by “Spirit Watcher Sealy), will peter out to nothingness AND DIE.

  9. I wish Ms Arthur well. Some time ago, shortly after the breaking of the global banking crisis, I was invited to CBC for an interview.
I duly went to the office, with my wife, and reported to reception. Only the two of us, Barbadians, sat in reception.
The reception called up to the new room and, after a delay, Ms Arthur came down. We watched her as she looked around, said not a word – to us or the receptionist – then returned to her office.
After a further delay, I went back to the reception to remind her we were still there. She called up and someone, I believe it was Ms Arthur, told her she had come down but did not see ‘anybody from the Financial Times Group waiting.’
So two black Barbadians and decided they could not be the people.
She has sound judgement and should go far.

  10. I have no idea what this lady is like apart from I read. What I do know is that unless staff make their feelings known as early, often and vociferously as possible someone may be foisted on them who is antagonistic to the best interests of the institution. Once the appointer has made up its mind it will only be concerned to protect the decision it has made (an ego thing); and after appointment it will be too late anyway. So go for it for all it’s worth and as necessary and practicable in every available domain………NOW. But remember too that there are dangers in being a goat among sheep, as the post writer must be very well aware of and doubtless for good reason.

    • It does not give BU any pleasure to highlight individuals. However we should not forget that the CBC is politically infested which has the result of negatively affecting the lives of many CBC employees. Sometimes we only consider the one at the expense of the many.

  11. Michelle Arthur is known for her vicious attitude if you do not kowtow, she will call the Nation to spread nasty rumors whether true or not if you oppose her or are in her way to advance. She promotes herself at the expense of her children (each from a different father), when her youngest daughter got her nose crushed by a cricket bat – money which was for surgery went to get Michelle a new car, her justification is that if the child had surgery then she’d need again as got older as her bones would stretch… Her oldest daughter, unfortunately, is copying her mother’s slatternish habitudes… Michelle needs to CBC a favour and resign, let her run Barbados Today (into the ground?)!

  12. David ..
You should be ashamed to allow BU to be used in a smear campaign against a person who is helpless to defend herself against this kind of vilification ..this is nothing but SMUT and should be removed.. you have taken BU further into the gutter.

    • @Horrified

What should the hapless employees do? Go to the PM? Not everyone have the resolve like a Rosemary Alleyne to wait until the government changes to get their just desert. If you have any influence get into CBC and clean it to hell up. Appointing Parris as Chairman was a slap in the face of all Bajans and employees if we accept what a sole TV station represents. Please do not make the blood boil so early in the morning.

  13. “Few people at CBC like her …”
Well I think she is the one. Why should any one who has been subjected to the level of programming that CBC has dished out over the last 25 years give a shit about how the staff feels? Maybe her appointment would force a few of those mediocres to move on. CBC like VOB, is an aged culture that could use some serious disinfecting. (Security and reception are the most pleasant and professional, it must be said)

  14. I really don’t care about the petty personal bullshit outlined in this article. What’s the year that audited financials are available for CBC? How much of a subvention is CBC getting every year from the taxpayers. Privatise or shut the place down and stop the drain on the taxpayer.

  15. I know nothing about Michelle Arthur nor her behaviour professional or otherwise.

What I have noticed however is usually these nasty attacks come only against persons who some believe are supportive of the DLP.

I will never forget during the lead up to the 2013 election when allegations of consorting with prostitutes etc was made against Edmund Hinckson Prodigal Son rushed to the blog owner and it was quickly removed.Yet here we have a vicious attack against michelle arthur by someone who may have an axe to grind,we had one against the PR at Water Authority Joanne Haigh,we had nasty comments about Esther suckoo and her husband sexual potential, about the late prime minister without any respect for the effects on his wife and daughters (who probably read this blog) and their grief so soon after his death.

I can’t remember the full list of attacks against dlp and presumed dlp leaning persons and while persons MUST have an avenue to vent and bring issues to the public, there must be some rules and standard in place as to what can be accepted tp be plastered on the world wide web without any verification or cause for pause.

I will await the expected snide remarks from the usual quarters.

  16. David said that appointing Parris was a slap in the face of all bajans. This is the machismo of which I speak, that has taken precedence over prudence. Given the climate as it was then, what sentiment could this administration possibly expect? Did they care? Hell no! The its we turn now mentality obtained, and before the claim of reelection is made consider this. The Barbados Labor Party lost the last election, more so than the Dems won it. Politics and religion effing up this country.

  17. @islandgal,
yuh sweet…sweet like sugar-tamarind ““Michelle Arthur used to suck up to the BLP when they were in power. She used to say in the newsroom that Owen Arthur is her family.”

  18. People enuf ’bouts hey is suck up to the party that in powa… They are PIP (Party in Power) and anyone that has spent time in the public service will have little trouble understanding this MO.

  19. Oh how I yearn for the days when that which was published had some semblance of credibility and attribution.
It is sad when an individual can submit innuendo and rumour to a blog and then that information is passed on to the hapless public as fact.
Suffice to say that this BU article will be exposed for the poorly veiled agenda tinged effort that it is.

  20. @ Common sense is not common | August 30, 2013 at 8:05 AM
“I will await the expected snide remarks from the usual quarters.”

All we have to say to your Sir or Madam, is that you conveniently omitted either by design or oversight the many nasty vicious slanderous lies about the private lives of OSA and MAM and unfounded accusations of corruption and malfeasance while in public office made by the likes of ac, CCC, Fractured BLP.

When you have included them in the list of victims we will heed your call.
Fair is fair, right, not so commonsense?

That said nastiness has permeated the bajan society for decades, small wonder many bajans will not return to the island neither to work nor live. Get rid of the stink nepotism, favoritism and all the other filth practiced and that those who benefit are so proud of and you will get a totally different and mature environment. ac and ccc are prime examples of the idiots who live, breathe and thrive in such a disgusting environment and pass on the blight to their offspring. Most bajans need to be re-educated to the fact that blacks have climbed to many levels in the business world outside of Barbados and they should stop looking around for white faces to equate with success. It’s a shameful disgrace and embarrassment the mentality on display for the whole world to see.

  22. @David
When your blood boils it will only serve to demonstrate how totally lacking in integrity you are …go right ahead !!!

  23. Michelle has always been a political pimp, she gives MR. Sealy stress all she does. Is give wa her pussy all over the place to both men and women,in the end its about her she should be aware that the man from th west health results not so good, I would know because my health is ruin forever. You. Better seek theMD.

  24. In the nineties rumors about Rosemary Alleyne and PM Sandiford (like it or lump it) were rife. I am NOT an Alleyne fan; never was and never will be, but the rumors drew a sympathetic ear because whether or not they were true, I thought that it was not an issue for public consumption. This Arthur thing is no different.

  25. The thing is this blog is being abused and misused, with the blessing and encouragement on the blog owner, by Barbados Labour Party members and supporters to sully the good names of anyone who is suspected of having even a whiff of DLP about them whether that is true or not.

Any and everthing is fine once it is directed at people who it is believed don’t support the Corrupt Barbados Labour Party.

    This hogwash is no different!!!!!!

  26. What Michelle Arthur has to do is to appeal to WORDPRESS and have this thread taken down.

Just like what ROK had to do to Barbados Free Press not too long ago..

  27. Carson…………..you do know that soon you will be working for free right, there will be no more free taxpayers dollars around, thought you might want to prepare for that day since it’s just around the corner.

  28. Carson………good for you, as long as you know, now all you have to do when things get better is teach the black governments of Barbados how to keep the money and all opportunities pertaining to wealth within the black race and you would have everything covered.

  29. @ Carson C. Cadogan | August 30, 2013 at 12:09 PM |
“That should not be a problem we as Black people worked for 400 hundred years without a paycheck.”

We all know you Carrion to be still in mental slavery but for heaven’s sake please get your history correct. How did you arrive at 400 (hundred) years? Barbados was first settled by the English in the 1620’s with the fist unpaid workers being white indentured labourers with very few Africans around.

But what can we expect from an empty-headed dimwit like you who has the gall to call Rank & File a fool. We quote you verbatim as follows:-
    “Carson C. Cadogan | August 30, 2013 at 12:16 PM |
    Rank and file
I can now understand why you are rank and file, you seem to have little intelligence and common sense.”

But then again it takes a blasted lying idiot to know another.

  30. Carson C. Cadogan | August 30, 2013 at 12:09 PM |
    Well Well

That should not be a problem we as Black people worked for 400 hundred years without a paycheck.

WHAT AN ASS A LIAR AND A DIMWITTED ILLITERATE
    WHAT A WASTE OF EDUCATION!

    @David
Based on your above comment wouldn’t it be fair then to say any appointments at CBC will be seen as politically motivated, regardless of party

  32. Carson……….you are keeping secrets, but i will address that on another thread, just follow me.

  33. Parris did not even know he was the manager of CBC when he got up one evening and said he was Chairman of CCB and his wife pull him and say not CCB CBC and the cunt repeated CCB…how could someone want to see that dog around again…the girl is a waste of time and the DLP trying to put some of who they feel is they people in positions of authority. Just remember Denis (black mout) Lowe said in the last budget debate that the BLP people holding the government to ransom.

  34. Carson C. Cadogan | August 30, 2013 at 12:52 PM |
    Georgie porgie

I am going to call your daughter and have her make good on her threat to commit you to Shady Pines.

CALL THE TAXI DRIVER THAT EUSTINE HORNING INSTEAD
HE GET HORN IN SPOONERS HILL WID YOU IN THE NEXT ROOM MAN

  35. I really don’t think that commitment to political expediency or a person’s sexual practices are critical to their CV. What is critical is whether they are actually good at their job, whether they are able to work with others, and whether in broad terms they have sufficient vision to inspire necessary change. They don’t have to be ‘nice’ but they do need to be able to command respect – not fear. Moreover, an appointment also needs to be justifiable on the basis of record not on who knows whom or, possibly, unarticulated ‘hunches’.

The profile of this lady seeminglyy resembles that of the person appointed as Dean of Law by Beckles (who wanted a ‘yes’ person) and his cronies despite the expressed wishes of Faculty. The result was a disaster.

I have some sympathy with those who say BU is being unfair to someone who cannot answer back – and I don’t mean the want, merely, of chivalry. But then, what do you do in THIS situation as it is perceived to be? It is not unfair to recognise the ability and right to make noise for what is regarded as the greater good.

  36. You people really have no class!! Yet u shout for ã better Barbados. Take a look in the mirror, and try change there first.

  37. Bajejun u seem to recognize class do u recognize hunger, poverty, or even no shoes for school probably not because too much class blinds jack ass…do u see a better Barbados r we living better than we were 10 years ago, with better savings and better employment the class that you should tell u jackass…..

“Miller: Still struggling to make your “predictions” come true?”

But Carrion they are coming true day by day. Remember the No UWI tuition fees, No layoffs, No privatization predictions?
Now whose promises are being broken, certainly not the miller’s predictions?
Let us hear you blame the BLP for these broken promises. Let us see you do a Shaggy “It Wasn’t Me” thing!

BTW, News Carrier Carrion, how is Eustine from Spooner’s Hill? The miller drives taxi too you know.

  39. @ Bajan

Please get over yourself and join the real world, you sir have been drinking to much coffee.

  40. If she’s the most qualified then leave her alone. Everyone dont like their boss not matter how nice they could be.

  41. The reason why a lot of person posting here can’t be taken seriously is simply because of political yardfowlism (my word). Whether B or D it’s always one upmanship at any cost. Never country first, pure opportunism.

  42. She has multiple children, all fathered by different individuals. Worse, she states openly who she slept with and whether or not they did a good job. Not surprised. Believe it. Some things should be discrete – REALLY. Women like this Michelle Arthur and even Rihanna care nothing about their heinous demeanor, don’t mind opening that door to the public. Rihanna on 05/07/2012 @ 3:15am tweeted “guarantee to turn a square into a Bi bitch” and Winston Roach, cousin to Owen Seymour Arthur, Vice President at the Barbados Workers Union and buyer for the Barbados Water Authority publicized his sexual involvement with Carole Boyce, Administrative Assistant, Pearson B. School Board (LaSalle Quebec, Canada). Had he not left the porn business, Donville Inniss likely would have paid good money to witness those two in the act considering FACT that she (Carole) is 275 lbs. Winston is just 125 lbs or less but IMPOTENT. It is of course no secret what was going on with Owen Arthur and Julie Price at the Ilaro Court either.

  43. Leave CCC be! I understand many, many, many layoff letters have be given to public workers. Everything is beginning to unravel!

Can CCC tell BU if either he or Steve Blackett have paid the electric bill for that poor lady they fooled!

  44. Good balanced post by RR
The reality of having a high public profile is that one needs to to be able to deal with such exposure. If it is malicious, then that will come to light as those in the know expose the other view….If it is true, then good for everyone.

Ms Arthur is more than welcome (and justified) in putting her side of the tale in the public domain…anonymously if she prefers….and let the chips fall where they may…

Eventually, the results of her actions will confirm or reject the accusations….for example…
…so far from Bushie’s perspective, Caswell, ac and the other Jeff Broomes molesters owe us all an apology…. 🙂

The alternative REALITY in the 21st century is to keep a low profile and use a nom de plume….AND STAY AWAY FROM HIGH PROFILE JOBS.

  45. Miller………Carson’s head is hot World Bank and IMF will be in Barbados next month contrary to what he is yapping about predictions. He don’t know where to turn, his taxpayer paid pick could very well be in trouble.

  46. David,
I know what you said earlier but I do think that this thread is becoming a tad too dangerous. I dont know the lady but I feel sorry for her. Can you disable further comments as I see done on US blogs. Just my suggestion for now!

  47. It has been said and proven for umpteen years that who you like, you like, and such an individual can do no wrong in the eyes of many. However, if an individual is not liked, no matter what the individual does, how well the individual performs – even bending backwards, that individual does not get the full credit deserves.

Some people from both ends of the spectrum would deliberately go to the extreme to embellish, and ridicule or compliment the individual.

    It’s part of LIFE!!

  48. I love Michelle Arthur
    Sorry to hear such things
    hope/not true
might be a nice person/inspite of this talk
    let those talking/talk about themselves
    are they holy
    are they sinless

  50. I am in agreement with taking down this thread
I vote to take it down

    who else voting wit me

    Yaaaaaaaaaggaa – again !!!

  51. David BU, yuh mashing de crease wid dis one hay. Not everything dat true is tuh get talk out, causing you wuh gi people pon hay a inch and dey would tek a mile.

Yuh seh yuh conscience clear and yuh does sleep good at night neh? Alright, well I hope nutten don’t happen tuh change that. Next time I see yuh I gine call yuh tuh oneside, causing here and lately yuh getting a lil outta hand …
