The prophets lie and the priest takes bribes and the people like it so – Jeremiah 5:30
No man can “TRULY” judge another man – no matter what the circumstances. Yet we’re admonished by the Word that we shall judge (fallen) ‘angels’.
So what is the context here?
As Christians, we go to court over civil matters, domestic issues and over legal matters. As men/women of God, while we’re instructed by the Word to take these matters to our religious/spiritual authorities to whom we believe ought to be spiritual enough to arbitrate over – given the difficult impasse on these matters.
Yet this admonition goes unheeded and the ever-growing spotlight focuses on Christians in a less than complimentary manner.
In the news for the last week, is another scandal of celebrity televangelist Eddie Long who is allegedly being charged with sexual impropriety by [4] men who claim that he had homosexual relations with them while they were under his spiritual leadership. Whether this is true or it’s a shakedown – time will tell!
Many prominent Christian leaders today have made a deal (a pact) with the devil by attrition. Duped into compliance by a love of “filthy lucre” and tainted by the spirit of Laodicea (rich and increased in goods) yet void of any real true spirituality. The love of worldliness, pomp, pageantry and fanfare ruins the practical godliness men ought to have. So the devil uses our baser passions to gratify the hole that many of have on the inside.
Hence, undercover sex in the modern church is an explosive and ticking time-bomb.
The World Council of Churches argues that our difficulty in addressing issues of sex and sexuality has often made it painful for us to engage, in an honest and realistic debate, with issues of sex education and HIV prevention.
There’s no denying that the “spirit of Hophni and Phineas are rife in the 21st century church. This is an extension of late 20th century celebrity Christianity and preacher worship going back to Billy Graham (Jesuit sympathizer) and serialists and fall from grace emotional “scum-bags” like Jimmy Swaggart to money-worshippers and false prophet like Oral Roberts. Today, the emblematic charisma of men like T.D. Jakes, Eddie Long, Joel Olsten, Paula White, Juanita Bynum and whole host of others who occupy places on powerful religious television networks like TBN, GOD Channel, INSP and others. So books like SNAKES IN THE PULPIT by Reuben Armstrong and his recent publication – CROOKS AND HOMOS IN THE PULPIT cite a culture of sexual infamy, obfuscation and denial.
Instead of Christ as the object of affection, the popular modern church is attracted to a celebrity, an evangelist, a project, a political cause, a fund-raising campaign, a new building, or supposed miracles and healings. Faith has turned to fantasy with a message of health, wealth, and comfort.
Celebrity Christianity seems more obsessed with money than with souls – more concerned with “seed” than with sanctity. If no one else has noticed, these religious PIMPS* has taken BAD-BEGGING to whole new scientific level.
In that kind of environment “easy believism” flourishes and many people who associate themselves with the church aren’t even Christians. They may have a form of godliness, but they deny its power – while Satan is still using this form of deception, and often his representatives are being disguised as ministers of righteousness – while propagating that which brings death and darkness to the mind and heart of the sinner, they profess to be representatives of enlightened living. This is satanic deception.
Carnal man needs God, but he prefers a “god” that condones carnal behavior. False religion appeals to the carnal nature because it offers loopholes to justify sin and wrong doing. The carnal heart is inherently opposed to God’s Commandments.
Theology in many modern churches is focused on meeting people’s needs, on solving one’s problems so one can live more comfortably. To them the physical body is what is important, not the unseen soul. And for that reason few churches hold to a Christ-centered faith that helps a believer stand in the midst of his trials and look to Jesus Christ for aid and comfort. For all too often the 20th century church took its cues and defined its role by the ways of the world.
Now the 21st century church hastens to accommodate a consumer-oriented culture that wants, above all else, to feel good. And it focuses on action at the expense of character, on doing rather than being. There is nothing wrong with seeking to meet people’s needs or creating programs to do so, and the church setting should be an environment where non-Christians feel welcome. But at the same time the purpose of the church is to follow and promote the Godly doctrines and beliefs found in the Word of God, not to bow down to Satan and the world and accepts false information as its doctrine.
In today’s world more people are concerned with animal rights than with human rights or most importantly the rights of unborn children. Their silence on so many vile, evil, and sinful practices like this, simply tells their followers that practices like these are tolerated by God.
God doesn’t want his followers to be people who love their religion. He wants his followers to be people who love the truth. We use to call evil and ungodly things, sins. Then we gave in and called them sicknesses. Then as they became more and more popular we were persuaded to call them socially acceptable. Then they were called normal. Now we have been convinced to disapprove of anyone who is critical in any way of these ungodly practices. The church of today tolerates just about any type of perversion. There are very few practices that are prevented from entering into God’s house, and much of it is welcomed and accepted with open arms. The biggest thing missing in the churches today is fear of God.
Today in America, while the “double-headed hydra” of same-sex marriage raises its ugly head as a major issue of social policy – within the debate amongst Christian Conservative who believe that the ratification of Proposition 8 law allowing such unions to be deemed as “Marriage” goes against every Biblical mandate.
Even Obama, whom many of us have supported, is in left field on this issue as political expediency will cause the best of us to lie and compromise with the truth that is in God’s Word.
Sexual matters within the church hang like an “Albatross” around the necks of too many ministers and members alike. Most being clueless to take a Biblical position because it would mean the loss of their Tax-Exempt status or vitriol from opposing groups.
The Church hierarchy seems unable if not impotent to engage in an open and honest dialogue about homosexuality, contraception, sterilization, artificial insemination, abortion, masturbation, premarital sex, celibacy and women’s ordination; so no one should be surprised if some with hidden agendas are inappropriately silent about homosexuality and paedophilia (which are top of the list) given that too many good so-called Church-going Christian men seem to be on either on the down-low or engaged in rampant infidelity.
Current church teachings on sexual issues don’t speak to today’s current realities given the propagation of liberal theology and an avant-garde form of postmodernist thinking which shelves the rudiments of Scripture for a more accomodationist type of “gospel” which debars no one or speak to the cherished sins which God hates.
The churches continued unwillingness to DEBATE* matters of social justice and its refusal to acknowledge or discuss the ambiguity and complexity of sexual questions has produced a magisterium that can listen to lying, corrupt politicians, greedy economists and war-hungry military generals but not to women with serious sexual and relationship questions which needs to be resolved given the rampant loss of fathers and husbands, brothers on the down-low and a spiraling miasmic climate of male incarceration.
The Church is often antagonistic to investigations of impropriety by dissenting theologians who discourage honest, impartial study and writing about controversial sexual issues which may highlight areas of possible scandal.
In this short narrative exercise, it would be virtually impossible to give you an honest evaluation of the size of the problem within the modern Church. This simple elucidation of what is a controversial issue does NOT even begin to do justice to the scale of the issues we face. It is because of that I have decided on a 2 part article outlining the scope and scale of this Leviathan in our midst.
Stay tuned…

Re Do you really think that if any if the notables in the Old or New testament had committed a sexual offense against a minor it would have been recorded?
YES because the Bible has been faithful in recording the sins and evils of even its biggest heroes. Moses David etc
Re Christians need the devil as much as the OT folk needed a scapegoat.
This is not sound Theology. Read up in a good dictionary the role of the scape goat and what it prefigured.
Now don’t think for a moment that I don’t understand what happens or that
I am denying anything thing that has been said I Bar Raisers long diatribe hut I can show you in the Bible that all of the ills committed by church members or church leaders from sex to begging and prosperity gospel are denounced in the Scriptures in the two chapters given over to dealing with apostasy along with other salient passages. There are also many faithful pastor teachers and officers in good churches. It would be more useful to put on these pages what the Bible says should be done and what should not be done so that all may know the Biblical standards.
Jesus spoke in parables because parables make the story sweeter an more memorable.

Thank you for that answer J.

Georgie Porgie wrote, “Just take up a NT and read it.”
What happens to people who can’t read?
Georgie Porgie made mention of women who are just as guilty as the pastor if they have sex with a married pastor, but what does GP say when the Anglican priest who is the husband of one wife and the Chairman of an older secondary school board, sexually hassasses a girl just barely in adolesence? The girl’s father was wrestling with schizophrenia (a disease which eventually killed him well before his 60th birthday) the mother had 6 children none of whom were yet at work, the mother of course was not in the paid work force as she was at home looking after the children. This was a respectable married Christian couple and their 6 children wrestling with the severe mental illness of the husband/father. The school and church came to understand that the father’s illness brought the family into financial trouble. The school and church decided to offer some financial assistance but the priest felt it was his right to feel up the teenage girl (she was about 13 at the time) before he handed over the “charitable” pittance.
THIS GEORGIE PORGIE IS HOW GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN ARE SEXUALY ASSAULTED BY CHRISTIAN MINISTERS.
It is not a case of good Christian men being harrassed by Potiphar’s wife.
No wonder you and the church WANT TO SILENCE WOMEN.
If the women ever spoke up the Christian churches would empty.
I doubt that any church in Barbados would be able to keep its door’s open if the girls and women were to tell the truth.
This priest’s bad behaviour did not stop him from rising to head his church, and it did not stop the Barbados government from giving him a high national honor.
If churches have noticed a decline in membership, if the 2010 census reveals that many Barbadians don’t to to ANY church, this is part of the reason.
Maye the next census should be done confidentially online and they should ask girls and women WHY they don’t go to ANY church.
It is alright for GP to quote exotic Scriptures but I have to keep it real. GP never had to let a strange old man feel him up in order for him to get busfare and lunch money when his father was too sick to provide.
GP is a physician, I am sure that in his career he must have seen cases of girls and women who complained of sexual assault by pastors and priests.
The Scripture does not command GP’s silence so why doesn’t he talk about what he knows?
I will not be silent.

Hi J,
I am no longer amazed or perplexed by the very high incidence of aberational behaviour taking place in the Church these days.
Just went to your suggested website above, and I started thinking about the Barbadian scene. Do you recall that several years ago, around the time when the Investigator Tabloid used to be published, that a Senior local Roman Catholic cleric, stated, when asked about his sexual proclivities, that he had a preference for both boys and girls?
Do you for one moment think, that the Barbados chapter of thr R.C. Church absolutely escaped any of this demonic behaviour that manifested in the same Church, practically all over the world?
The RC Church should encourage and allow ALL of its Priests to MARRY A WOMAN (AND NOTE I SAID A WOMAN) and stop burning up like volcanoes for the young boys in the church. So……. did Barbados escape?
Also, does anyone remember that suspicion incident at the Bay Street Headquarters of the Church where a murder took place, allegedly over a row between two youngs boys, and bearing some relation to jealousy about Pastoral affections? Remember that one of the boys (can’t recall if it was the victim or the murderer) went to St. Leonards? I am mentioning the School, not to tarnish it, or suggest the school had/has anything to do with that type of behaviour,……St. Leonards is an excellent school………. but to help bring to mind some of the details that were published at the time
That should have been suspicious, not suspicion.
@ GP….
ROFL….
You should have been a politician or a lawyer……ya mout too sweet man…lol.
You say……’Again you are wrong Techie The behavior above is especially dealt with in 2 Peter 2 and the book of Jude man. Zoe is accurate. I am not naming denominations now, Ok I am talking about APOSTATES OF ALL FAITH
You have proven my point with this answer with your last sentence but we will continue to agree to dis agree when it comes to Zoe’s nasty behavior/attitude as a ‘Christian’, regardless of how sound he is.
It was/is my opinion of him and you cannot/will not change it.
I have the same opinion of Dictionary also.
You said I was exposed, yes I was, as it was Mandatory while growing up. What continues to confuse and deter me, is the same attitudes noted above by the very people who ought to know better.
But what does Technician know eh?

Data collected in many countries seem to indicate citizens are turning away from religion.
in spite of that, u as an individual need to know your place with God. if u should die today, where would u go? Is it not better to live a life with a relationship with God and die only to discover that u were wrong, than to live a life without any moral barriers in place, no relationship with God and only to discover, you were wrong when you die?

Re THIS GEORGIE PORGIE IS HOW GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN ARE SEXUALY ASSAULTED BY CHRISTIAN MINISTERS.
And it is discussed in 2 Peter 2 and Jude as I have said. You are not telling me anything new. GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN ARE SEXUALY ASSAULTED BY GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN ARE SEXUALY ASSAULTED BY MEN (and some times women) IN ALL WALKS OF LIFE……..AT WORK IN THE HOME AND AT PLAY! NOT ONLY AT CHURCH. IT HAPPENS WHEREVER FOLK INTERACT.! IT OCCURS IN THE SERVICE CLUBS IN SPORTS CLUBS ETC
Re It is not a case of good Christian men being harrassed by Potiphar’s wife.
Really? I hate to burst your bubble here. But I have personally been attacked by the wife of a church leader in a church I once attended. Many church women throw themselves at church leaders. OK? It is rampant in many places.OK
Re No wonder you and the church WANT TO SILENCE WOMEN.
THIS IS A STUPID COMMENT BASED ON YOUR IGNORANCE OF THE TEXT. The text refers to silence of women during the TEACHING OR PREACHING SESSIONS.
But the silence you are alluding to is a myth! Pastors and priests are led MAINLY BY THEIR WIVES & THEIR WIVES FRIENDS IN MANY/MOST CHURCHES OK? AND THEY DON’T HAVE TO SAY A WORD IN PUBLIC!
WOMEN RUN MOST CHURCHES AND THEY DO SO IN SILENCE WHILE IN CHURCH!
Re If the women ever spoke up the Christian churches would empty. I doubt that any church in Barbados would be able to keep its door’s open if the girls and women were to tell the truth.
Are there non Christian churches Ma’am? Why is it that most churches are attended mainly by women? Are we to conclude that those who go, love to have sex with the church leaders, and that is the reason the girls and women keep silent? Why would thedy continue to go and keep silent if they dont like being harrased?
Re This priest’s bad behaviour did not stop him from rising to head his church, and it did not stop the Barbados government from giving him a high national honor. WHOSE FAULT IS THIS. The priests? His church group or the government?. Is this not partially in keeping with the text that speaks of SPIRITUAL WICKEDNESS IN HIGH PLACES.
Re If churches have noticed a decline in membership, if the 2010 census reveals that many Barbadians don’t to to ANY church, this is part of the reason.
IS THE PROBLEM THE “CHURCH “ PER SE OR THE HEARTS OF WICKED MEN. IS IT NOT TRUE THAT THE HEARTS OF MEN (and women) ARE WICKED AND DECITFUL ABOVE ALL THINGS AND DESPERATELY WICKED?
Re Maye the next census should be done confidentially online and they should ask girls and women WHY they don’t go to ANY church.
Do you think that its because they are LESBIANS or IDOLATORS OR JUST PLAIN NOT INTERESTED., or otherwise falling under the fulfillment of Jesus’ prediction of Luke 18:8? Is it because they are out and out sinners and they like their sinning practices and do not want to hear anything to detract them from their evil tendencies.
Do you think that some of the women who drop out from church were attacked by LESBIANS TOO?
Why not do a census for men too?
Re It is alright for GP to quote exotic Scriptures but I have to keep it real.
There is no such thing as exotic scriptures. I have quoted the RELEVANT Scriptures which anyone can read for themselves to ensure that what I have said is so. Are you saying that the scriptures are not REAL, because there are church men who were/are APOSTATES who disobey its teachings because of their lusts. Do NON church goers not do the very same things?
Are these Scriptures exotic because you have never heard them read or taught in the Anglican “church”.
Re I am sure that in his career he must have seen cases of girls and women who complained of sexual assault by pastors and priests. The Scripture does not command GP’s silence so why doesn’t he talk about what he knows?
I have NEVER in my career seen cases of girls and women who complained of sexual assault by pastors and priests, so I can not speak on this matter except to say that 2 Peter 2 and Jude speaks of apostates who were doing this in the early church and that one expects apostates to do this right through the church age.
Techie
I reiterate that the behavior being discussed in this thread is especially dealt with in 2 Peter 2 and the book of Jude man. Its source or aetiology and its progression or pathophysiology is adequately described in Romans 1:18-32 in great detail
Anyone who understands the Word can see that Zoe rightly divides the Word of Truth . So does Dictionary. We know your dislike for both of them, but their exegesis is sound doctrine that cannot be refuted.
It is generally agreed that most denominations and many local started out in an attempt to escape from what the founders considered an apostate group. It is also generally agreed that most of these groups started with beliefs that are sound teachings as found in the Word. It is also to be noted that many of these groups APOSTASIZE that is they turn around from the foundational truths of the faith that they once held. So there are in fact and in truth APOSTATES OF ALL FAITHS.
This is not necessarily true of the cults because they were not founded on the Word of God so they could not apostasize from what they didn’t believe in the first place.
I can not and will not persuade you to leave what you call “Zoe’s nasty behavior/attitude as a ‘Christian’ Zoe’s nasty behavior/attitude as a ‘Christian’,.” But when persons bash folk for being sound it looks silly to me. And in the final analysis you wont be his judge at the “bema” or judgement seat of Christ.
Re You said I was exposed, yes I was, as it was Mandatory while growing up. What continues to confuse and deter me, is the same attitudes noted above by the very people who ought to know better.
You need to stop judging and make your calling and election sure, because you have to give an account for yourself and excuses will apparently not be accepted at the Great White Throne Judgement from its account in Revelation.
JUDAH’S SEXUAL LIAISON WITH HIS DAUGHTER IN LAW TAMAR (exposed in Genesis 38:1-30)…
DAVID (a type of Christ) – PROPHET*, “PRIEST” & KING* was guilty of SEXUAL IMPROPRIETY*with Uriah’s wife (Classic voyeuristic PORN*)…. sorry I couldn’t resist!!!
SAMSON* (a JUDGE* in Israel for 12 years) a type of priest and ruler at a time of great APOSTASY* was also guilty of gross sexual and “spiritual” misconduct based on his “VOWS” as a NAZARITE*- shagging a woman of dubious reputation (her name meaning “DEVOURER”)… no wonder Samson was whipped poor fella’… But thank God for Hebrews 11…
In the case of the regular priests we read: “They shall not marry a harlot or a woman who has been defiled; neither shall they marry a woman divorced from her husband; for the priest is holy to his God” (Lev. 21:7).
The guidelines for “the priest who is chief among his brethren” are even more explicit and selective. “And he shall take his wife in her virginity. A widow, or one divorced, or a woman who has been defiled, or a harlot, these he shall NOT* marry; but he shall take to wife a virgin of his own people, that he may not profane his children among his people; for I am the LORD who sanctify him” (Lev. 21:13-15).
Selectivity is heightened even more where God says: “They shall not marry a widow, or a divorced woman, but only a virgin of the stock of the house of Israel, or a widow who is the widow of a priest” (Ezek. 44:22).
The “spirit” of HOPHNI & PHINEAS is rife in the modern church… seems like everybody shagging everybody else…
Eli’s sons were the worst kind of “BASTARDS”, preying on the weak and vulnerable – taking the best of the gifts (MONEY in today’s vernacular) yet not content to be swindlers and RIP-OFF artists but literally shagged anything that moved…
THIS IS THE “spirit” in the CHURCH* folks…
Hence, the reality today is church has become a fashion parade…showing off your GUCCI, ARMANI, & VERSACI…
I have heard it said that if you want to find some SEX* – forget the nightclub – the church is the place to be…
Priests are holy (set apart) to their God. They are not their own. When they minister among God’s people, they are serving Him. When they abuse His people, they touch the apple of His eye. When prostituted by His anointed ones, God’s name, His house, and His endorsement bring them to the brink of no return.
Eli pleads, “If a man sins against a man, God will mediate for him: but if a man sins against the LORD, who can intercede for him?” (1 Sam. 2:25).
When the only bridge to safety is destroyed, how can a rescue party reach the one in peril?
Sexual sin is never just a casual physical experience of no consequence.
Adultery and fornication (in ministry) are direct assaults on the essential values of God and thus upon God Himself, and His plan of salvation.
@ GP…
You need to stop judging and make your calling and election sure, because you have to give an account for yourself and excuses will apparently not be accepted at the Great White Throne Judgement from its account in Revelation
You see, this is where we differ.
I am not judging Zoe, Dictionary or you, any more than you all judge others.
While you may think they are brilliant and sound, their attitude sucks!
You keep talking about this Great White Throne of Judgment, that is what you believe in and it is what you live by.
I have heard about it all my life but it is not what I embrace or believe in at this point in my life.
There are too many unanswered questions.
What I can tell you and what I stand for is that I try to live as good a life as I know how. Our primal instincts teach us right from wrong and I base my life on these basic principles.
If there is a judgment for me to face sometime, well I will face it when that day comes but in the meantime, I just live and enjoy life with all its ups and downs.
Every man has a right do decide his own destiny.
THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT AND THEIR SKEWED THEOLOGY ON ARMAGEDDON & THE FUTURE JEWISH HOLOCAUST –
H. L. Wilmington, leader of Jerry Falwell’s Liberty Home Bible Institute: “All hell will break loose and many of the Jews will loose their lives. In fact, there are some theologians that feel on the basis of reading Zachariah:14 that two-thirds of the Jews will be slaughtered. It is difficult to know who a Jew is today, but approximately 16 million Jews, which means he will kill more than Hitler killed.”
“Sixteen million Jewish people is far greater than the entire Jewish population living in the Middle East today. Do Ronald Reagan and the fundamentalists who guide him then expect their nuclear Armageddon will become a global, not just a limited, nuclear war?”
Jerry Falwell not only teaches that the Armageddon in the Bible will be a nuclear war with the Soviet Union, but that born-again believers will be miraculously saved from the physical effects of nuclear weapons, world-wide. This is the belief they call the “Rapture”.
Rev. Jerry Falwell: “What is going to happen on this earth when the Rapture occurs? You’ll be riding along in an automobile. You’ll be the driver, perhaps. You’re a Christian. There will be several people in the automobile with you, maybe someone who is not a Christian. When the trumpet sounds, you and the other born-again believers in that automobile will be instantly called away – you will disappear, leaving behind only your clothing, and physical things that cannot inherit eternal life. That unsaved person or persons in the automobile will suddenly be startled to find that the car is moving along without a driver and suddenly somewhere crashes. These saved people in the car have disappeared. Other cars on the highway driven by believers will suddenly be out of control, and stark pandemonium will occur on that highway and every highway in the world where Christians are called away from the driver’s wheel.”
http://www.rumormillnews.com/ARMAGEDDON%20THEOLOGY.htm
Since the days of Ronald Reagan, no wonder the “theological” goal-posts have kept moving – no wonder christian ZIONISTS like HAGEE et al are trying to do all they can to avert the fumbling and mis-indoctrination and doctrinal heresy taught by the crooked religious American establishment which is frankly bankrupt of spiritual understanding…(SOLD AS A BILL OF GOODS TO EVERY NATION ON THE EARTH)…
Anyway – THE RAPTURE* will whisk some folks away – leaving the rest of the “BASTARDS” behind!!!
May God help us…

Techie, man, what you want me to say? I have said all I have to say re these threads. I am here looking on and laughing my head off at the “greatest show on earth” (you know what I mean right?). These arguments can continue for a “year & a day” and no one comes away knowing any more than they knew already. As far as I can see it is an exercise in futility trying to add anything to the debate when everyone’s mind is already made up that “they have it right”. I continue to seek the Lord’s guidance through His Holy Spirit and, if I am to believe what I have read in the scriptures, I have learned that the Holy Spirit cannot and will not lead one astray. Capiche? So the herd (using one of GP choice words) can continue to bray. 🙂
@simplr anonymous
Don’t misunderstand the point. Essentially we are saying despite all the education, improved channels of communication and the lot, people of the cloth are not being able to motivate the people(herd) to follow the straight and narrow.
@Zoe/Raymond,
I am glad that you agree on this issue of these so-called “P.hd’s”
They should hold their heads down in shame.
They also expose themselves when they speak and write: Very shallow and devoid of scholarship!
Used to take you many years of study and burning out the midnight oil to even get to Masters level. All that has changed; you can sidestep undergraduate and graduate degrees and aim straight for the “ultimate” – without even attending a class.

That is what the Bible teaches
Re I have heard about it all my life but it is not what I embrace or believe in at this point in my life. There are too many unanswered questions.
Guess what? I have a lot of unanswered questions too. Like why are morons running the country I have unanswered questions in medicine too. But I don’t use that as an excuse for believing what I know or have been taught.
Re What I can tell you and what I stand for is that I try to live as good a life as I know how. Our primal instincts teach us right from wrong and I base my life on these basic principles.
I understand you perfectly Sir. Many people believe in THIER GOOD WORKS. But the Bible teaches that our righteousnesses is as filthy rags . It teaches us in Titus 3 : 5 . Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6. Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7. That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Ephesians Chapter 2;8-9 teaches 8. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9. Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Romans 4:4-5 teaches
4. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
But you have heard this all already.
I also live and enjoy life with all its ups and downs.

I seriously “LOVE” Pearson and these “guys” – for one good reason. they got “DETHRONED” by the said “FOLKS” who they worshipped and worshipped them – LOST ALL* they had in the process but keep right on doing the “BUSINESS”….
You see in the end, it’s really all about $$$$$ & CENTS* in a world where the majority don’t really have much SENSE* anyway!!!
Pearson et al NOW* is learning the hard way what I and others like me have been experiencing for the last 20-odd years of kicking against the ESTABLISHMENT* vociferously… emulating great men like Minister Farrakhan, Martin Luther, Malcolm and other who could NOT* be bought or sold – but will call a “spade a spade” regardless of whether it is POPE, Prince, President or Pauper…
My dearly departed grandmother back in Barbados in the 60’s would remind us young men that – “if ya ain’t get some guts early, ya ain’t gine get it late”…
That’s the truth if I ever it!!!
@ Technician
Quoted from a post by Zoe:- “But, then again, they are the false prophets who come to us in various shades of deception, who might also be grappling with they own sexual temptations, apart from being ‘false’ prophets, claiming some kind of special ‘revelation’ as God’s end-time exclusive spokesmen, we see them in the JW’s Mormons, SDA, et al,……..”
*************************************************************
Now my question to Zoe is whether he can tell me the names of these “false” LDS prophets who were so sexually deviant and grossly perverted?
Next. Zoe claims that the LDS are polytheistic and that he has already “debunked that belief”. I would kindly like him to show exactly where this is taught in LDS doctrine You see, Techie, when folk can take others writings and not fully understand the full purport of what the writer is saying then we are bound to have problems especially when such folk have their own agenda to push here on BU. I have had some of my own comments here completely twisted around to mean the complete opposite of that which I was trying to convey. And, mind you, that is with everyone being familiar with the use of today’s English.
If Zoe wishes to condemn a church full of more the 13 million (getting closer to 15 million) members on something like plural marriage that was practiced (and outlawed/banned since 1890) by probably less than 2% of the membership in the early days of the church and, I will add, also practiced by some of the Lord’s choice men in the OT (eg. Abraham, King David et al) then he is more than welcome to do so. After all, he does have his agency, doesn’t he?
I will say this, we have all seen how things have deteriorated in this world under the influence of other denominations/churches/religions since Jesus Christ set up His Church some 2000 years ago. Now I have heard it said that the height of idiocy/lunacy is doing something over and over the very same way and expecting a different result each time. So, I am more than prepared/willing to try something different now. Capiche?
Oh, BTW, I am not trying to convert or influence anyone here who may have other thoughts/beliefs on the subject matter. Furthermore, I have absolutely no quarrel with you, Zoe et al who wish to practice/believe whatever doctrine they so choose to practice. All I wish is to be left to my own choices to do the same. OK? Do we understand each other any better now?
@ David
You claim:- “Don’t misunderstand the point. Essentially we are saying despite all the education, improved channels of communication and the lot, people of the cloth are not being able to motivate the people(herd) to follow the straight and narrow.”
****************************************************************
I would like to reply………………… I don’t know about this “people of the cloth” business, I guess you mean folk who walk around with their long flowing robes etc, etc. trying to appear or pretending to be “holier than thou”(is Zoe one of those?). Well, to continue my reply, I can show you members of the LDS Church who because of being true to the faith and because of the teachings of the Gospel have been known to “follow the straight and narrow” even in the face of extreme temptation, men who would seek to cover or turn away from the nakedness of a temptress rather than indulge in a few minutes of unbridled lust. The same goes for women as well. Also folk who have been able to resist stealing from/cheating their felllowman for the sake of gaining a few extra filthy lucre. Members who have gone beyond the call of duty in many instances for other people who may not even be fellow members. I am not writing this in a boastful manner, I am just showing you that, yes, there are folk who ARE still being motivated to stay on the straight and narrow in the face of extreme adversity. I know, too, that this also applies to members of other churches as well, it is not unique to the LDS Church. Now, back to you.
@ de Hood….
Dont get your knickers in a bunch guy…lol.
I do not subscribe to any reLIEgion`under the sun, neither do I bother about what anyone says about their individual choices.
As far as I am concerned, you are all heading to the same destination, just taking different roads…..power to you all.
To each his own, as long as you respect my decision and my choices as I do yours.
Hopefully, some day we will know the ‘truth’…Capiche?!?
You need to ease off the Italian gangster movies though…lol
@ Technician
