Not since the days of the Gladston Holder columns in the Barbados media have Barbadians been kept abreast of the occurrences which involve the Council for Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission or even the Bilderberg family influence on world politics. Barbadians, including the media appear to be very comfortable ferreting world news from CNN and the BBC.

BU like millions around the world have been enthralled by the new entrant to the White House. President Barack Obama is without question a departure from the old guard. Some say any perceive change should only be taken as token. Many of the appointments in the Obama government represent prominent individuals who have worked in Washington in the recent past and are regarded as part of the status quo. For example, there is the influential position of Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner, the former head of the Federal Reserve of New York. How can Geithner be responsible for changing Wall Street when he is a product of the system?

The video above is one hour and 53 minutes long and paints an intriguing picture of Obama and the shadow government which runs the US government. While BU is inclined to ask questions we are not sure we fully buy in to the positions expressed in the video.

What do you think?

Thanks to BU family member Hopi!

@African Royalty……Ase!Ase! All these sacred Ancient Texts preceded the hoax by light years.

“Maybe Ra is asleep, resting, like the ‘gods’ of the False prophets of Baal, when Elijah challenged them to see whose God, is the real God, and their ‘gods’ did NOT show up, BECAUSE they DON’T EXIST, just like yours, Hopi!”

I challenge you to get your God to show up now. If your God cannot show up, doesn’t that mean that your prophets are false?

Let me tell you something. You talk about God and You place Jesus Christ alongside God, the carrier of God qualities. You sure you worshipping one God? Your prophets are idolised as gods too. We hear of the words of Moses and Elijah and you go by them. What about the angels, like the archangel? who is immortalised.

You sure you worshipping one god or is it that what you have done is set it up so that it don’t seem so? Your people say that Christ is God.

  3. @ Rocky & Hopi, You two would recognize the ‘Truth’ if it stood in front of you; in order to see and understand the Truth, you have to be able, to be Objective, honest, and to think Critically, all of which eludes you completely, NO criteria whatsoever resides in your vacant ‘mind’ hence your inability to discern the LIES and utter deception that your ’embrace’ in your folly and ignorance.

You can’t even write a Coherent sentence in defense of your senseless nothingness; and you say to to GP, ‘Stop the deception.”

Man, you are the most glaring, infested pit of spiritual ‘DECEPTION’ I have ever seen; NO, correction, HOPI running a tie with you man, to see who goes in head first into the Abyss of Everlasting Deception!

  8. @Zoe…….Just in case you didn’t know. No Criteria is needed to see The TRUTH. It needs no armour, no dressing, no NOTHING. It stands tall and alone all by its naked self.

“Once Truth and Lie went for a swim. Lie ran out of the ocean first, stole Truth’s clothes and got dressed in them. When the villagers saw him coming they said that look like Lie dressed up in Truth clothes, then Truth ran down the same street without any clothing, and the villagers said there goes the Naked Truth.”

So Zoe, you can try to dress up your reLIEgion in Maat, The Sacred Pyramid Texts, The Books of the Coming Forth and all the other Sacred Text of Kmt and call it christianity or whatever, its only a facade which will eventually come tumbling down.

  13. @Zoe, GP, Simple Enough

You think you all got a monopoly on insulting people? You feel that you all can’t be insulted?

This is the devil in you coming out. That Christianity has no respect for people and can’t you see how you disrespecting yourselves all as one?

You are the scum of the earth. The most ignorant among mankind. Spewing your nonsense of fairy tales and white magic. You employ psychics and not prophets because not a name in the Bible ever existed.

You live in a dream world that will never happen and you are the source of the problems in this world, including the massacre of people in Palestine.

That whole hogwash about Christ needs throwing through the window. The Bible should be burned and all Christianity outlawed because it harbours ignorance, generates animosity, cause people to curse others, set brother against brother, father against son, mother against daughter and friend against friend.

It is worse than Hitler and communism. It seeks to destroy and and lay waste all in its path and bully people into worshipping a false God. True God don’t have to walk around forcing anybody to worship HIM.

Your God is a racist, he is a male chauvanist pig. Has no respect for women. Any person or thing that gets up and claims to be God is a liar in the highest order and a charlatan. That is who you are worshiping.

You are nothing but chattel to him and it can be seen how Christianity arms it members with forked tongues; makes the the biggest liars in the world and so desperate to earn members that they would try to frighten others into Christian beliefs.

Any man that chooses to be a Christian is a fool to give up their freedoms and worship a God. Like the Egyptians said, your god took the Israelites into the wilderness to kill them and had not for your fairy tale Moses, the man, a mortal, all of them would have died out there.

Why don’t you worship the man that saved you, Moses rather than an alien from outer space? This alien fooled you that out of billions of billions of planets in this universe only earth is inhabited. Any fool could look into the sky and know that we can’t be alone in this universe.

Your God has to travel in a chariot, idiot. What kind of omniscient and omnipotent entity has to travel in a chariot? You have not the first clue; you are as blind as a bat without radar.

Why does a god have to come on this earth, supposedly to die at the hands of men? Of course we know that Christ never died. He was saved by his alien friends. Houdini would have put him in the shade.

You so much want a god that you have to make up a false God. All the other religions, like Budhist recognise that if you see the Buddha walking down the street you should kill him, because the Buddha is not important, it is the wisdom and knowledge that is important, but you Christians have to turn Christ into a God and then say that the only way to God is through Christ.

Well when the Prime Minister is in his office, the only way to him is through his secretary, does that make her Prime Minister. Can she make any decisions for the PM?

All you Christians fooling yourselves, but you know what, My Creator is not going to hold that against you and my Creator does not have to go about thumping chest telling people about almighty and insisting that people worship any God.

You are the scum of this earth but don’t worry, the Creator has forgiven you before you born. Christ and the Bible is all about fire and brimstone, knashing and wailing, a baptism of fire; but you know what? Your God will also die. He is not immortal; no more immortal than man and just like we change PMs is just the same way you change gods. There is only one PM just as there is only one god for you. Yes your god is a mortal soul which is replaced after the passing of one to the passing of others.

Just the same way that we had the Arthur era and now the Thompson one, is no different from the eras demarked in the bible. There are several eras in the Old testament and one in the new. When the Gods succeed each other they start a fresh era. No different from the Pharaoh dynasties.

  14. Mr Rok
Are you not some sort of leader in Barbados?
I must confess that I have learned nothing from your numerous posts. You have not really added anything, nor have you sucessfully indicated that you are knowledgeable about the topics raised on this thread.
With leadership like yours, people in Barbados of my generation are definitely doomed.

  15. Christians believe what the Bible teaches as the truth, and then fit other pieces of information that is relevant to help us appreciate the Bible narrative and not the other way around.

Our approach is the Bible is correct unless we can prove otherwise. So far archaeology, and studies in all disciplines has not yet once proved the Biblical record incorrect.

Our attitude is like that displayed by the disciples of Jesus in the incident recorded in John 2:18-22.What is most noteworthy about this incident is that both the disciples and the other Jews were given a sign by Jesus. Neither of these groups understood the significance of the sign. However a different response was exhibited by each of these groups.

One group dismissed and REJECTED the sign and its Giver; the other group deferred their interpretation thereof, until they could better understand it later, because they had ACCEPTED the giver of the sign. The disciples were much like us, in that we often also fail to initially comprehend truths in God’s Word. But unlike the scoffing rejectors and critics of the Bible who discern “ contradictions therein and are willing to “wrest” them, we defer our opinion, because we accept the Author of the Scriptures and its inerrancy. Eventually, our indwelling resident tutor, the Holy Spirit clarifies our misunderstandings and resolves our intellectual conflict. The root of the difference of approach is either one of ACCEPTANCE or one of REJECTION.

Likewise the differences in the approach by historians who handle Bible History or facts related thereto is a direct result of their attitude of the relevance of , and the impact of the Bible on their lives. If the Bible is paramount and the primary source to us, we wait for God to shed light that will demonstrate the Bible’s viewpoint.

Those who are rejectors of Biblical truth, tend to scoff or try to explain the apparent discrepancies so that they don’t sound or seem silly to a senseless world.

As we relate secular history to sacred, we must never fail to see the undergirding hand of God directing the affairs of men, otherwise our conclusions and pontifications will tend to stray from the truth and be way of target.

  16. The writer of Hebrews is constrained to warn in Hebrews 3:12 to take heed “ less there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.” We are there enjoined to encourage each other daily lest any of us be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin because we are only made partakers of Christ (our spiritual rest), if we continue to hold on by faith to Him in whom we sought when we heard and believed the gospel of our salvation (Romans 10:17).

Christians teach that hearing of the gospel must be mixed or accompanied by faith, for this is the only way that one can benefit from the promise of spiritual or eternal rest (Hebrews 10:22; 11:39; I Thessalonians 2:13; Genesis 3:20).

Christians understand as believers today, that we can not enter God’s physical rest (Philippians 4:7), or His spiritual rest except by faith (Hebrews 3:19); for without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). In addition it is clear that we are expected to exhibit faith perpetually if we are of those who will enjoy spiritual rest.

The lesson the Hebrew writer wants us to grasp is that the unbelieving people of Israel thought that since they were Abraham’s physical seed, that they were automatically entitled to the physical rest that God had promised. They, however, fell short because of unbelief.

In like manner he wanted the Hebrew believers of the early church to understand that if they would gain the eternal rest that God had promised by faith in His Son, that they had to believe and continue in faith- they had to keep on believing (see John 8:31: John 20:31; I John 5:10-13. They were not to draw back to perdition. They were not to falter and fall by the way side and fail, or come short of the promise of eternal rest, after the same example of unbelief as those in the example given in chapter 3:17-19 and Numbers 14 (See Hebrews 10:38).
    Neither should we.

The writer makes it abundantly clear in Hebrews 4:2, that the promise of the gospel was preached to us, just as it was to them, and argues further that just as it did not benefit apostate Israel because they did not appropriate it by faith after they heard it, we will not profit from hearing the gospel promise in our day either, if we do not similarly appropriate it by faith. This is so despite the fact that all the plans, preparations and provisions to effect or execute the promise of salvation was completed from the foundation of the world.

  17. Since the fall of man as is evidenced from a proper reading of Genesis 4-11, there has always been two sets of people; one that seeks to follow God, and those that follow their father – the devil.

This issue is fully discussed in I John 3 :6-12. It is a phenomena that continues today, such that it is not easy sometimes to distinguish carnal Christians from their counterfeits or just wordly moral people. Again this is a long standing historical fact seen in the Biblical record in the lives of Lot and later men like Demas or Judas.

  18. Ms. Margaret,

I humbly concede that I am not a leader in Barbados. I merely take initiatives on things, I leave the leadership to others. Thank you very much madam. You are not doomed.

  19. President Obama is the leader the world wants. Even the Chinese feel that he looks like them.

The Italian leader said that he merely has a tan.

Africans feel that he looks like them.

Mara highlights the fact that Barbadians can more identify with and relate to Obama than to David Thompson.

Unfortunately, while David Thompson’s wife was sucking-up to President Obama – Brian Lara teaches him how to play cricket.

  20. Ms. Margaret,

I see you condone the Christian abuse, but while you may have learned nothing from my posts, that last one was an attempt to show that abuse is not a one way street and that after being heaped upon abuse after abuse, there comes a time when a man will take no more.

I hope to raise the anger further by my post. You want to see the devil you are dealing with? I humbly submit myself to the sacrifice. I dare to tread where angels don’t go. I have nothing to lose and only humanity can gain.

  21. @GP

“there has always been two sets of people; one that seeks to follow God, and those that follow their father – the devil.”

I totally agree: There are only the Jews and the Gentiles. You are very well indoctrinated by the Talmud too, I see.

But I want you to know that if my father is the devil, so is yours. How you could be the son of the devil and hope to follow god? Pure hypocrisy! Can’t serve two masters and you already serving one; or are you a traitor?

  22. @ ROK

How you could be the son of the devil and hope to follow god?
    ……………………………………..

    You are right!

Those 40,000 Barbadians voted for David Thompson and the DLP yet they are serving Clico.

  23. I could not agree more with Margaret, a sensible young student, who is obviously intelligent enough to see right through the ramblings of Rok, whose posts carry no reasonable sense at all, on the other hand, GP presents his arguments soundly and rationally, point by point, making a lot of sense.

Zoe, also presents his arguments is an orderly manner, like GP, though he can be impatient with Rok and Hopi, which is only understandble, as they have no real defense against either of these two well read men.

I’m really glad that GP and Zoe are taking the time to share with us, these important Biblical facts, which they are supporting with good historic evidence, I was especially enlightened by the evidence to do with the ancient religious practices of the Egyptians and Canaanites, and all of the various animals, Goats, Bulls, birds, etc, that they associate with these false gods, how stupid can one get. No such idolatry is found in the Christian religion, but, is rather condemned.

Don’t stop writing GP and Zoe, no matter what foolisness Rok and Hopi may bring, as they don’t have a foot to stand on against you two.

Do you feel that you and Barbados would be better off, if David Thompson was a fraction as bright as President Obama?

  27. David, Hopi, Not Saved,

I have had to question the meaning of God. What does that word mean? Is this somebody that Lords over other people or does it mean the Creator?

Obviously there is something which renders us alive; it is in us. We hear such pronouncements as “matter cannot be created or destroyed”.

In this same manner, may I assume that it is the same with the spirit world where spirit cannot be created or destroyed.

If this is so, it means that we are generated through two reservoirs as well as all manner of life in the creation. Just as the body returns to the earth so does the spirit returns from whence it came.

To the animals that we herd, mankind is probably the God. They do as we say and when their time comes they do not know but they end up on the platter of mankind.

God in this sense simply means owner. The owner however, depends solely on the creator, for example, to create the cows. This same God has to depend on the engineering skills of the Creator to keep those cows alive, because they too can pass anytime; the owner-god does not control that and as a matter of fact is a product of the same Creator; so he too can pass anytime.

All credit has to be the creator. The creator provides in abundance for all accordingly. Insects born frequently and in abundance so the birds can eat. The birds are provided so that other creatures can eat; including man.

Some are provided with intelligence and placed at the top of the chain. These are supposed to know better. These are blessed with one offspring a year and not thousands like snails or turtles. They are less threatened with death by the rest of creation on earth…

and so the Creator gave each in abundance without favour or discrimination and the creator keeps creating because that is the essence of the creator; good and bad (only relative) or light and darkness (again relative).

The Creator is so vast that it encompasseth everything. Far beyond what the eye can see, as far as anything can possibly go; in all the corners of existence; everything that is, that has been and is yet to come is the Creator.

Every time cycle is the Creator, every rule of science; every millisecond of each day; every measure of darkness and of light; every manner of man, be it homsexual, bi-sexual; asexual or heterosexual; every beast of the field; we are all part of the Creator and the creation all in one; the alpha, the omega.

Each life as we live it we witness the Creator and the Creator ask for nothing in return. No promises, no fire, no brimstone, no heaven, no hell, except the one you create by yourself.

Each man and woman is the master of his/her destiny and carries the Creator in him/her, because the creator is a wholesome Creation; life without end; only the Creator. From generation to generation each is but a sniff in the life of the Creator.

Therefore, any one manifestation of the creation cannot be on par with the Creator. Maybe you would give him his recognition as a Lord, a Prince, a King or a God… but not to give that recognition would not mean death and destruction by the Creator. Maybe at the hands of the Kings and the Gods who do not tolerate defiance or divergence. These are mere mortals.

The Creator obviously have great patience, that is why evil or good each life has to go and be replenished until the Creator is satisfied; does it matter the time? No need to punish anybody or anything; create contingencies for destruction; etc. etc. The Creator is probably living all its fantasies by the creation of diversity, within and without all species. The Creator is all that is possible.

These are the things I affirm; respect for the dignity of each person and every manner of life, for each is a tiny speck of the Creator who also made me. Who am I to judge?

  29. THE CREATOR OF ALL THINGS
For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him (Col. 1:16; also Johnl:3;Heb. 1:2).
(from the Indescribable Christ by Charles Rolls)

  30. JESUS IS THE CREATOR OF ALL THINGS according to Colossians. 1:16; John l:3 & Hebrews. 1:2

For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him -Col. 1:16
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. John l:1-3
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Hebrews. 1:2

Creation, revelation and incarnation are the three mightiest strands of witness available to us in aiding our minds to comprehend the reality of God. The creation demonstrates His power and appeals to the human reason, the revelation declares His purpose and appeals to the human conscience, while the incarnation displays His presence and appeals to the human heart. In creation, the mighty and the mite the stupendous and the small, the tremendous and the tiny, the lofty and the lowly contribute their witness to His intricate work and infinite wisdom.

The enormous range of creation is beyond our powers of comprehension. Some worlds are so ponderous that human means of reckoning cannot estimate their size. Stars are so numerous, human calculation cannot determine their number. Distances are so spacious, human standards cannot measure their expanse. Ages are so tremendous, human conception cannot comprehend their dimensions. How im¬potent and incompetent man appears in the light of such magnitudes! Well did David remark, “What is man, that Thou art mindful of him?” (Ps. 8:4)

Within the bounds of our understanding, when we behold the height of the heavens, the sublimity of the sky, the splendor of the stars, the luster of light and the cosmos of color, we admire with wonder the celestial regions. In the sphere of our physical surroundings we may have our senses engaged and enriched by the symphony of sound, the melody of music, the majesty of mountains, the shimmer of streams, the variegation of valleys, the foliage of forests, the fullness of fountains, the flavors of fruits, the beauty of birds, the glint of gems, the sparkle of sapphires and the gleam of gold.

Even greater values than these await us in the spiritual realm, where we learn to revel in the triumph of truth, the kindness of kinship, the fidelity of friends, the sympathv of souls, the touch of tenderness, the character of constancy the raiment of righteousness, the joy of justification, the happiness of hope, the pleasure of peace, the luster of love, the vestments of virtue, and in millions more of such marvels which are all marked with the tracery of His fingers and the impress or His creative hands. “Without Him was not anything made that: was made” (John 1:3). Marvel of marvels that such a Dignitary should submit to the cruelty and crime of being crucified and become involved in what was known as “the scandal of the cross.”
(from the Indescribable Christ by Charles Rolls)

The Creator does not crave such popularity. Neither does the Creator have to make a claim; far less than from a pack of lies.

Whosoever shall say I am the Creator is certainly not the Creator because the Creator is the Creator and needs no introduction… and all the instruction that each man desires is already packaged in the creation. Seek not outside the Creation because the Creator Created the Gods and the King of Kings and the Lords of Lords the Creator Created them all.

The Creator is a fair Creator and is not jealous; nor will take any vengance; nor will bring enmity upon mankind.

The Creator needs no prophets or soothsayers; no allies or enemies… The Creator made them all.

The Creator goes beyond our imagination; more vast than we can conceive; is not a person or an entity; no god or no lord.

The Creator is each and every person and is in each and every person; no need to search the heavens because the Creator is at hand; every minute of the day; every day of the week; every week of the month and every month of the year.

The Creator abandons no one or nothing. The Creation is like a tree whose leaves fall off; making way for fresh ones and providing nourishment for life… and so does everything created.

The Creator made each with the talent to live life for their purpose: to develop and gain more consciousness; to live longer and longer from generation to generation; to gain intelligence; to become perfect; to add features to the Creation; to be as the Creator; require no thought for action and no doubt of deed.

God of the Bible is Jealous. He is a mortal. Vengeance is His alone. He has enslaved mankind as we have enslaved our own and are farming animals.

He commands you to do as he says while the Creator made you free and bonded only to your parents for a quarter of your expected life. Thereafter each man is a free spirit with free will.

The bible and god seeks to place your spirit in bondage; They seek to limit your free will by captivating your mind with false claims and inventing a history that never existed.

It engenders animosity towards its opponents and seeks to manipulate and destroy what the Creator has made whole to serve its selfish desires and creates disharmony rather than promote harmony. It seeks to divide and it seeks to rule.

Read the bible and you will find all these things. You will feel the need to separate yourself from your fellow human beings. You will throw your children out of your house; you will take your neighbour to court; you will stop speaking to your neighbours; you will start calling them unclean without realising that you yourself would have to be unclean if your neighbour is.

It will turn you into the worst liar anyone can want, trying to hold up a God. It will make you ignore your own in favour of those who are better off.

So many black people worked hard and then throw away their properties giving it to the church and disinheriting their own children; throwing them back into poverty while adding to the already vast assets of the Church.

  32. @ROK……The Creator obviously have great patience, that is why evil or good each life has to go and be replenished until the Creator is satisfied.” That’s called “PERFECTING the IMPERFECTED.”

One things about you christians, you never have an original thought, always quoting the bible or some other biblical “scholiar.”

  33. @Hopi

You have great patience. I flushing them out. They obviously think that they are being persecuted and will soon start on a rampage. That will make GP and his virtual gang very happy to be able to say they are being persecuted for their beliefs. It’s part of the religion.

My name must be all over the religious community by now, but they knew my position for a long time. It has not changed for 35 years. They once called me “Moses”. Some still call me that. As you say, the Christian mindset.

My problem is not with the established church. They know where they stand. My problem is with the GPs, who in their zealousness, would seek to present belief as universal truth. The Church will tell you that the basis of Christianity is a belief in the Bible. They are the first to recognise that there is no proof.

So I don’t know what GP is arguing and who he think he could fool. He cannot step outside the bible for proof of anything and hence to insist that it is universal truth outside the faith, is less than standing on good theological footing and that is for starters.

  34. Hopi, said, “My ancestors never needed faith, they had knowledge…Spiritual beings don’t need faith. You only need faith to give life to LIES.”

Yes, ironically, Hopi, one does need lots of ‘faith’ to give legs to the LIES that you believe in, as there IS no proof, other than failure and runiation in your belief system. Atheists, also have faith, so do radical Islamic Jihadists, faith in nothingness!

It is most certainly incredible in any rational sense, not to link ‘Faith’ with knowledge, as most of our daily activities are rooted in a knowledge based ‘faith’ dynamic, in multiple ways; i.e., buying a lunch from a restaurant or cook shop, don’t we by ‘faith’ trust the vendor not to have ‘poisoned’ the food, or when we take a ride in someone’s car, trust that person not to do something foolish, to endanger our lives, knowledge/faith working together in a realistic way, in numerous ways every day in our lives.

In the Bible, the Word of God, faith has two meanings, Subjective, as well as objective ‘faith.’

Gk. Pistikos, from ‘pistis’ meaning fidelity, faith. Causing belief, persuasive, faithful, trustworthy. Used metaphorically, meaning true, genuine, pure (Mark 14:3; John 12:3).

Gk. Pistis; from peitho, to win over, persuade. Faith. Subjectively meaning firm persuasion, convistion, belief in the truth, veracity, reality or faithfulness. Objectively, meaning that which is believed, doctrine, the received articles of faith.

In Romans 14:22, “hast thou faith” meaning persuasion about what God wants you to do (Rom. 14:23).

In Hebrews 11:1 “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” means that ‘persuasion’ is NOT the outcome of imagination, BUT, is based on the FACT, such as the reality of the resurrection of Christ ( I Cor. 15), and as such it becomes the basis of realistic hope.

In 2 Cor. 5:7, ‘For we walk by faith, not by sight” means that which appears before us may not be what it seems to be, while ‘faith’ is somthing which stands on ‘proof’ arrived at inductively.

Elsewhere in Scripture, also, ‘pistis’ markes various predominant traits of Christian character as arising from, and combined with Christian ‘faith’ without implying, any sharp distinction; meaning Christian knowledge; of zeal, ardor in faith (Rom. 1:8; 11:20; 2 Cor 8:7; 10:15; 13:5; Eph. 6:23; I Thess. 1:4; 11) Of Christian love, as springing from faith (Rom, 1:12; mutual faith and love; I Thess. 1:3; Phil 1:5). Of Christian life and morales, practical faith ( I Tim. 4:12; 5:8, 12: 6:10; Titus 2:2). Of constancy in the faith (Col. 1:23; I Thess 3:2, 5-7, 10: Heb 13:7; James 1:3).

Yes, many have faith in ‘deception’ which also brings proof with its destruction, hopeless lies, manifested in ruination over the ages; whereas, the Christian world view, has resounding proof of its reality in transformed lives over thousands of years; from every nation on earth, and continuing so today, give the only hope for mankind, in a living reality, that stands alone among other competing faiths.

  35. @GP

“Yes, many have faith in ‘deception’ which also brings proof with its destruction, hopeless lies, manifested in ruination over the ages…”

Christianity is the best example of it.

“the Christian world view, has resounding proof of its reality….”

True that! Your belief makes it real to you; it’s your reality.

  36. @ROK……..These christians don’t faze me. I feel nothing but sympathy for them esp. if they are BLACK like me. This thing called christianity has been the bane of our (BLACKS) existence, it enslaved us physically and now today too many of us are still under its yoke. It is by far the most EFFECTIVE tool that the white man has employed to keep the Black man subjugated to his will. The other effective tool is the illusion of “education.” We keep working to reach the goals of the white man, who has proven time and time again that he does not have the interest of the Black Man at heart.

  37. “THE HOLY BIBLE CAN BE UNDERSTOOD”
The teaching that the Holy Bible can be understood is sometimes called the teaching of “clarity.” God does want to communicate with mankind. We are approaching a God who wants us to understand Him. We are not coming to a mysterious god who wants to keep everything about himself a secret. We are not going to have to somehow defeat the desires of God in order to understand Him. Since God wants to communicate with us, we can assume that His communication to us will be understandable. God created us. He knows our limitations. He is able to make Himself understood. He wants to communicate with us and he does understand us, so the Holy Bible should be able to be understood by us. It is true that the most intelligent mind may spend a lifetime studying the Holy Bible and still not understand it all. It is also true that the very simplest person with only a very ordinary mind may understand the main points of the Holy Bible. There are many truths that lie on the surface. There are many more that lie deeply buried. The clearness with which the Holy Bible can be understood rests upon two things. First, the words of the Holy Bible themselves are ordinary words with ordinary meanings. If the Holy Bible speaks of a tree, it means tree. If it talks about a house, it means a house. There is nothing mysterious about the words. Second, the believer has the help of the Holy Spirit. The help of the Holy Spirit and the use of ordinary words make it quite possible to understand the Holy Bible.

“THE HOLY BIBLE CONTAINS ONE SYSTEM OF TRUTH”
The teaching that the Holy Bible has one system of truth that never contradicts itself is sometimes called the teaching of “unity” and sometimes called the teaching of “the analogy of faith.” The interpretation of a specific passage must not contradict the total teaching of the Holy Bible on a point. If a particular verse may be interpreted either of two different ways with equally valid reason, you must choose the interpretation that is the most consistent with the rest of the teaching of the Holy Bible. Never choose an interpretation which is contrary to the clear teaching of the rest of the Holy Bible. The Holy Bible is consistent. It teaches only one system of truth. The Holy Bible will not teach one thing in one part and contradict it in another part. It always teaches the same thing. God is one. He is true. Any word coming from God must be true and consistent. When we read the Holy Bible there may be times when we think that one part says something different than another part. This can not be so. When we see what we think are differences, we must search further, because there is only one system of truth being taught.

    “BIBLICAL REVELATION IS GIVEN PROGRESSIVELY”
The idea that some teachings of the Holy Bible are not given at all at once but are given little by little in a progressive manner is called the teaching of “progressive revelation.” There are some things that seem to be taught one way in the Old Testament and another way in the New Testament. Does that not mean that there are two systems of truth? No, it does not mean that. In the Old Testament God gave the Ten Commandments. In the New Testament God gave the Sermon on the Mount. In the Ten Commandments He said we are not to kill. In the Sermon on the Mount He said that if we hate a person it is as bad as having killed him. In the Ten Commandments it says we are not to commit adultery. It sounds very much as though the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount are teaching two different things. But you must understand that there is a progressive way in which God teaches us. In the Sermon on the Mount God teaches us the higher, spiritual significance of the Ten Commandments. It is not that He teaches something different but that He teaches at first simply and then later on more fully. It is as though God brings man up through infancy in the Old Testament to maturity in the New Testament. Let us imagine that you are the parent of a small child. When the child is small you do not give him long talks about the law and the police and the fact that it is wrong to steal and that to steal shows a sinful character. You simply say to the little child, “Do not take what is not yours.” As the child grows you explain more and more. And so it is in the Holy Bible. In the Old Testament God was teaching very simply, as if teaching little children. Later on, in the New Testament, He taught in more detail. In the Old Testament He told the people what He wanted them to do. In the New Testament He explained why He wanted those actions. He explained that the thoughts and attitudes of our hearts should be right before God, and that if they were right, our actions would also be right. And yet it may have looked as if He were teaching two systems of truth. No, there is one system of truth, but it may be taught in a progressive manner. Hebrews 1:1-2 tells quite clearly that God spoke in the Old Testament in various ways, over a long period of time. It also tells us that God has spoken His final, clear word to us through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the Living Word of God. He is the clearest, highest revelation from God. The Written Word of God (the Holy Bible) is the clearest, highest revelation from God in written form.

“EACH PASSAGE OF SCRIPTURE HAS ONLY ONE MEANING”
There is another matter that is somewhat related to the matter of there being only one system of truth in the Holy Bible. It is the question of whether there may be more than one meaning in a particular word or verse. We have already said that even if there are two teachings in a verse, they will be in agreement. They will be part of one system of truth. But that is not the question before us. Even if they be in agreement, can there be a double meaning in a verse? For instance, Daniel 12:8 seems to indicate that the prophet Daniel did not understand all the meanings of the prophecies that he himself was giving. There are prophecies in the Old Testament which rather clearly have their main fulfillment yet awaiting us and which, nevertheless, have had a fulfillment in the past. Daniel, chapter 7 and 8, talks about the “little horn.” It seems fairly clear that there was a fulfillment of the prophecy of the “little horn” in the person of Antiochus IV Epiphanes. It is also very clear that there will be another, fuller fulfillment of this prophecy during the time of the Great Tribulation. Do these verses really have a double meaning? This is a question not easily answered. We have already stated that the Holy Bible is both from God and from man. God caused the Holy Bible to be written and, by inspiration, saw to it that the human writers wrote exactly what God wanted written. Daniel, a human writer, wrote a prophecy of something that was to happen in the future. The prophecy was fulfilled in the person of Antiochus IV Epiphanes. But another even greater fulfillment of this prophecy is yet to come. The question arises as to whether the human writer knew anything about the latter fulfillments or whether he knew only of the first fulfillment. Obviously God knew about both fulfillments and intended the prophecy to pertain mainly to the latter fulfillment. If the human writer knew only of the earlier fulfillment and God intended the prophecy to apply especially to the latter fulfillment, does that not mean that there are two meanings to one verse? In other words, is there not one surface meaning and another deeper meaning? It is not a question of two systems of truth but of two truths within one system. Scholars are not in agreement on this matter. Some say that there can be only one meaning in a verse and others say two. We need not worry unduly about the matter. We can resolve the question by stating the following:1. In the mind of God there is only one meaning per verse.2. When there are obviously two fulfillments of a verse, we can assume that either the human author knew of them both (unlikely) or that the one meaning of the verse included both fulfillments in the mind of God who is the ultimate author. Do not look for hidden meanings in the Holy Bible. If a hidden meaning is intended, God will point it out later on in the Holy Bible. For instance, in Hosea 11:1 there is a prophecy made about Israel coming out of Egypt. It is quite clear. However, in Matthew 2:14-15 we are told that there is another meaning to this verse in Hosea. We are now told that it applies to Mary and Joseph and Jesus spending time in Egypt during Jesus’ infancy. We are quite safe in stating that there is hidden meaning in Hosea 11:1 only because God clearly tells us so in Matthew 2, we would in no way be justified in trying to find the hidden meaning of Hosea 11. If there is a hidden meaning, it was hidden by the author, and only the author is qualified to say what the hidden meaning is. If there is hidden meaning in the Holy Bible, God has hidden it and only God can tell us what it is.
    “THE HOLY BIBLE IS COMPLETE”
We assume without further proof that the Holy Bible is complete. God has said all He wants to say to us. And He said it in the pages of the Holy Bible. We are not to seek for further word from God in other writings or from mystical experiences. You have the Holy Bible. I have the Holy Bible. We all have the entire Word of God in our hands. We need seek nowhere else for more word from God. We could say much more about this but will leave you to read more about it in the book What is the Holy Bible?
    “THE HOLY BIBLE IS TRUSTWORTHY”
The Holy Bible is trustworthy. It is the Word of God. If God Himself is not trustworthy, then there is nothing in all the universe that is trustworthy. If God cannot be trusted, He is not God. We may believe the Holy Bible. We may accept it as totally true. Because God is trustworthy and because He is able to communicate with us, we may assume that every word of the Holy Bible is true. If God is able to give us some true words, He is able to give us all true words. You might say, “But there are lies recorded in the Holy Bible. For instance, the Holy Bible tells of the time that Jacob lied to his father.” Yes, that is true. But the lie is accurately recorded. The lie is not God’s lie. It is man’s lie. It is accurately recorded to teach us that God does not condone lying. When God tells us about man, it is necessary that He tell us about the untruthfulness of man. But He tells us about that untruthfulness in a true manner. God has protected every word of the Holy Bible so that it tells us exactly what He wants us to know.
“THE HOLY BIBLE IS FROM RELIABLE MANUSCRIPTS”
We can be sure that we have reliable copies of the Holy Bible. The original copies of the books written by Moses, for instance, are not in our hands. They have disappeared long ago. But we have many ancient copies of all the books of the Holy Bible, and they are in such complete agreement that we can be sure we have accurate copies of what God originally said.
    “TRANSLATIONS ARE SUFFICIENT”
Even though the Holy Bible you hold in your hand is not in the original Hebrew and Greek languages, even though it is only a translation, it is still adequate. It is quite true that some of the very small points of understanding the Holy Bible depend upon understanding the original Greek of Hebrew. If there is real difficulty in understanding a verse, the matter can be settled only after studying the verse in the original language. It is also true that the people who prepared the translation you are using knew most of those small points. They have tried very hard to make your Holy Bible carry the same information that the original biblical languages carry. It is also true that most of the message of the Holy Bible does not depend upon small points of language. Most of the message is quite clear and easy to be seen and understood and easy to translate into other languages. If you study your own Holy Bible carefully, you will miss very little of its message. You will certainly have all you need to live a life that is pleasing to God.

  38. @Zoe………How the hell can faith be belief in truth? “Faith is something which stands on ‘proof’ arrived at inductively” Whose logic is this based in, the same conquerors that brought nothing but misery and bloodshed to humanity? In a world so vast the only book that you can quote from is the bible. Utter tosh! In order for you to believe in this crackpot called christianity you MUST have faith and according to your bible “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” In other words “When you have ZERO PROOF, you need faith” simply because the LIE is so monumental it can only be based on FAITH/BELIEF. And in the meantime we will get rid of all evidence to the Contrary. Why do you think that those who brought you the bible destroyed that same ADVANCED Society from which they got their knowledge? Why would your people do that unless they had something to hide…like covering up the evidence as to where they got their knowledge and their “Jesus Christ i.e. Christos Serapis”

  39. @Anonymous…….Humanity does not need a bible in order to communicate with “God.” The bible is a guilt tool of control. Living within each / most of us is the spirit which gives guidance and fr that spirit we chose our path.

@@Zoe……The ruination of that once great Ancient Society was done at the hands of “christians,” the same beings who have continually sacrificed blood all over planet earth in the name of their “God.” Do you want to quantify the degree of destruction of the so-called radical islamic jihadists and atheist to that of the christians or nazi-zionists?

  40. What a crying shame that a conference on Racism could be boycotted by the progenitors of racism. All Ahmadenijad did, was call out the crimes of the criminal and all other supporting criminals just exited. It stinks of a “conspiracy and hypocrisy.” Perfect excuse to continue the wholescale pillaging and decimation of non-white peoples on this planet with immunity. And what says the phenotypical Negro, the “head” of the US Corporation, who’s busy doling out the funds at the comatosed public’s demise to the bloodletters of the planet? ?*?*?*?*?*?* And in the meantime the European & Asian criminals continue to pollute and fish in the waters of Somalia unhindered, while he sends in the ‘big, bad US navy’ to murder 3 ‘pirates’ (who one would think were armed with nuclear weapons). All this is in preparation for the oil companies to take over Somalia’s wealth. What a damn shame.

And who do we have giving their unbridled support to the ZioNAzis? The christians who truly believe that these are “God’s” chosen people and that the only way they can be blessed is to bless them, the zioNazis. This is what christianity is really about. Supporting evil!

It is high time that Black People stop meeting at any table with the White Man. The time has come for Blacks to take care of their own business and exclude every other man. Its about self-preservation. The World needs mother Africa for their survival, Africa does NOT need the rest of the World.

  41. The smallest part of the Holy Bible that you must examine is the individual word. But you can not look only at the word by itself. You must compare it with other similar words in the same “necklace” of the Holy Bible.

You must think about how the word fits into the whole of the Holy Bible. You must think about the kind of word that you would expect to find used by a particular writer in the Holy Bible. You must consider the individual word, it is true. But you can consider the individual word only in the setting or context of the whole Holy Bible.

“Context” is a word you need to know. It means “that which is written around a word.” The context of a word is the rest of the sentence. The context of the sentence is the paragraph. The context of the paragraph is the chapter. The context of the chapter is the book of the Holy Bible. The context of the book is either the Old or New Testament. The context of the Old or New Testament is the whole Holy Bible itself. In considering any part of the Holy Bible, you must always think of the bigger context.

When interpreting a part of the Holy Bible, pay careful attention to context. There are historical narratives that can be understood only in the light of the connecting narratives. You will not fully understand the significance of Matthew 4:1-11 (the temptation of Jesus) if you miss the fact that the very first word of the passage is “then.” This ties it to the historical narrative of chapter three and the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist and, more importantly, the declaration from Heaven that “this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.”

Occasionally there will be a historical narrative followed by a particular teaching. In many of these instances, the teaching will be understood only if you connect it to the historical narrative. To understand John 6:26-65 you must view it with John 6:1-14.

Sometimes the passage is connected to its context by logical thought. It is impossible to understand any verse from 1 Corinthians 15:12-19 if you take it from its context. This passage is a very tightly reasoned series of logical statements. Each one depends of the understanding of all those around it.

You must remember that the chapter and verse divisions in the Holy Bible were not part of the original writings. They were added later for convenience. Some of those divisions are at unfortunate places and tend to separate parts of Scripture that really belong together. In Ephesians 1:4-5 such an unfortunate division occurs. In the English Holy Bible the first two words of verse 5 are written with verse 4. In many translations this division has been corrected.

There is another kind of context other than the words around a word. There is also the “historical” context. The historical context tells of the other historical events that happened before, during and after any particular historical event. It tells us something of the time of history in which something takes place. For instance, the significance of India sending an ambassador to China would be very different, depending on when in history it happens. India could have sent an ambassador in the days of the Moghul Empire or in the days before independence from Great Britain or after independence or before China invaded Assam or after China invaded Assam. The meaning and importance of India sending an ambassador to China can only be understood properly if we know when it happened. To know when it happened is to understand the “historical context.”

We must remember that each book of the Holy Bible was written at a particular time in history. You feel certain pressures and certain privileges because of the time in history in which you live. The pressures and privileges were different for David than they are for you and different yet for Paul. The writings of David and Paul were not written by God who sat in Heaven, undisturbed and unmoved by history and ignoring history. They were written by the power of God through real men who had real problems and felt real pressures from the age in which they lived. The Eternal God reached down into the history of mankind and communicated with real, historical men. The way God communicated with men was molded by history. Some of the very words used by Luke, for instance, would not have been used if he had written two hundred years earlier. He was very much a man of his time. We will never understand his writings if we do not understand his times.

There is also a “cultural context.” Let us imagine that we see a man putting his left hand on the head of a child. In a culture where the left hand is unclean, this would be thought of as an unkind thing to do. If this happened in Thailand, you would know that it is even more of an insult, because in that country you never touch anyone on the head with either hand. If it happened in Europe or some other place in the West, you would think of it as showing love and kindness to the child. It makes a difference where (in what sort of culture) an event happens. This is called the “cultural context.” Just as the biblical writers were men of their time in history, so they were men of their place in culture. The very way they thought was a result of the culture. The language used by Paul had many clear differences from the language used by Peter. Paul was a lawyer and Peter was a fisherman. Their differences in cultural background show through in their writings. If you wish to understand the Holy Bible, you must understand the cultural context.

If we are to understand the Holy Bible, we must carefully analyze every word. But we must do it with consideration of the various types of context. But where do you start? Do you start with the examination of the word itself or of the context? Different people do this differently. There are some facts about the context that become clear only on examination of the individual words. And there are facts about the words that become clear only on examination of the context. In fact, you must go back and forth. As you understand the context, you will better understand the word. As you better understand the word, you will better understand the context. Each time you better understand the context, the word should be examined again. Each time you understand the word better, the context should be examined again. It is a never-ending process. Some scholars call it the “hermeneutic circle.” Context helps you understand words which help you understand context which helps you understand words, etc. etc. etc. etc. Even though hermeneutics “goes in a circle,” you have to start somewhere. You have to pick a point at which to enter the circle of hermeneutics. I would suggest starting with the context of the passage under study.

  42. The first step is to read your Bible. If you wish to understand one particular part of Philippians, you should read the entire book of Philippians. You should read it over and over and over. You must become able to recognize the general progress of ideas in the book. One word or one verse will not make much sense if they are not seen in the overall pattern of the book. I recommend reading an entire book at one time. Sometimes that is not possible. It is hard to find time to read the entire book of Psalms at one time. But many of the books of the Holy Bible can be read in a short time. You should try to read as much at a time as possible. That way you will be able to have the book in mind at one time.

The second step is to study the historical and cultural contexts. It is very difficult to separate these two, and they will usually have to be considered together.
    A. “Circumstances of the author and recipients”
You must try to see the world through the eyes of the author of the book you are studying. You will never understand why he wrote as he did if you do not understand the author. Nor will you understand the author if you do not understand the history and culture of his times. You must put the author in his place in history.

First, you must understand where he was in the general progress of history. What was the world picture at that time? Who were the world leaders? (Important in the study of Daniel.) What were the major powers? (Important in the study of Matthew.) What wars had recently been fought? (Important in the study of Philippians.) What was the education like at that time? (Important in understanding Paul.) What were the main philosophies predominant in the world? (Important in understanding Colossians.)

More particularly, what was the history of the particular area in which the author and the recipients of the book lived? Sometimes the major powers of world history have only some effect on the local area, whereas the local politics and local history have a great deal more influence over the people in a village. The life of the village is often much more influenced by the local government or some local community leader or even some local thieves. You must try to understand the writers and recipients of the books of the Holy Bible in both the broad and in the local historical context.

There is another historical framework in which you must place the writers. It is in the framework of God’s history. If we examine the life of Paul in the light of history, we will have to learn much about the Roman government, the Idumean rulers of Palestine, the Greek culture of the time and many other things. We cannot understand Paul without knowing these things. However, while the political and cultural and social history of the time was making its own influence on the life of Paul, God also was making progress in His own dealings with mankind. Ordinary history views things only from man’s point-of-view. It tends to leave God out of its consideration. While all of that sort of history is transpiring, however, God is carrying out “history” by His own power that man may not even be aware of.

If we go back to the Old Testament we will see that God had always had a relationship to mankind. When Adam was first created he was given only one rule by God. Before that rule was broken, Adam and God walked and talked together. After the rule was broken, the relationship was different. In studying the relationship of God and man it is as though God was leading mankind through a series of different lesson that God was trying to teach mankind. All of these lessons were designed to teach mankind that man could not behave in a proper way by his own intelligence or strength. Human governments and laws from God and the presence of prophets—none of these things could make man keep from sinning. It was as though God was trying to show man how helpless man really was. Then, there came a time when God stepped into the history of mankind and provided His way of making man holy. There came the time when God showed that if man is going to be holy and acceptable to God, he is going to have to accept the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ. From that time, God temporarily put aside the Jewish people with whom he had been having a relationship for all those hundreds of years. He put them temporarily aside and started something new in the history of God’s dealing with mankind. He started the new group of people known as “the church.” It is only if you understand that kind of history that you will really understand many of the things about Paul. He was a man who was the product of the age in which God dealt with the Jews—and he was also the man whom God used to announce to the world that something new had come. In understanding the writings of any biblical writer, you must know where he stands in the general history of God’s dealings with mankind.

The idea that God dealt with mankind differently at different times is called “dispensationalism. After looking carefully at the whole of the Holy Bible and analyzing how God dealt with mankind, we recognize that there were definite differences in different periods of time. God seemed to deal differently with Adam than He did with Moses and differently yet with you and me. We do not want you to feel that dispensationalism is something that scholars have invented and that then they try to make the Holy Bible fit their theory. The idea of dispensationalism is gotten from a study of the Holy Bible. Dispensationalism is not a theory that we invent and then try to make the Holy Bible fit our theory. It is a description of the dealings of God with man. If it is kept in mind, it will help you understand the Holy Bible.

You must understand something about the geography of the area that pertains to the book being studied. What did the Philistines mean when they said that Jonathan and his helper had “hidden in holes” (1 Samuel 14:11)? What was geographically important about Philippi? How could it happen that David could quietly get so close to King Saul that he could hear Saul but Saul could not see David (1 Samuel 26:17)? What was the area like where the Israelites crossed the Red Sea (Exodus 14)? It is not stated this way in the Bengali translation of the Holy Bible, but the original Greek often says that when anyone went to Jerusalem, they “went up.” Why was it stated that way?

What was the religious situation of the writer? Who were the Pharisees? What did they believe? What power did they have? What was their relationship to the ruling Jewish religious leaders in the days of Jesus? Who were the Sadducees? What did they believe? Why was it that the Sadducees were the main opponents of the early church? What was Baal worship? What were the “high places and groves” which were mentioned so many times in the Old Testament? What was the prevailing religion in Rome in the early days of the church? What were the Greek religious? What did they mean when the people of Lystra called Paul and Barnabas “Zeus and Hermes” (Acts 14:11-12)?

  43. “You must remember that the chapter and verse divisions in the Holy Bible were not part of the original writings.” That’s very telling because the bible is nothing but a plaigurised book. There’s nothing original about it. And here you are defending it with a non-sensical circular argument.

“Context helps you understand words which help you understand context which helps you understand words” In what context does that brain of yours operate? You see what happens when you have faith, believe everything the scholiars write…..You defend it with gibberish.

“The idea that God dealt with mankind differently at different times is called “dispensationalism.” That sounds more like sensationalism, God dealt with man according to the mood. I thought that the “God” of the christians never changed.

  44. Hopi
“The idea that God dealt with mankind differently at different times is called “dispensationalism.”

Well you see Hopi, the only way to explain it is to understand that each dispensation means a different god was in leadership. It is no different from talking about a country in terms of who was its Prime Minister or its President (Head of State) at different times.

Take a history of the USA for example. You had the Roosevelt terms, the Kennedy term, the Johnson term, the Nixon term, and down to Bush and then Obama; each is a dispensation. You will see that each dispensation dealt with the citizens of the USA differently and had different foreign policies.

Take Cuba for example and you will see that for the duration of the Castro era, everything remained virtually the same because it was the same dispensation. Under Raul Castro things have made a drastic change.

So to say that god dealt with man differently at different times does not mean that the same person or entity was the god at all times. Herein lies the deception of this god theory.

  45. @Hopi

Another thing. In my humble opinion the ancients knew they were dealing with mortal beings; Gods died; some gods were not considered immortal and some men joined the gods too.

When you consider this you will understand why the followers of Jah-way were persecuted because they sought to make their God a super natural being and the folks of yesterday who saw and interacted with these gods, knew they were mortal beings.

Even the Bible and the story of Lot, is ample evidence of the mortality of these beings. Who was it that wrestled with an angel until morning? What these stories tell me is that these aliens that call themselves god can be easily defeated in hand to hand combat, but because of their technological superiority, they will overcome.

Just as how the white man feared slaves, so do these gods fear man. Man is an animal to them that has to be controlled; as we control cattle, domesticate wild animals, but fear them because they can kill at a snap.

  46. ROK……….This “christian God” sounds just like that CHANGE guy BaRat. He deals with the Kleptocrats one way, deals with the “blue collar” another way and then there’s the poor, about whom he doesn’t give a shit. Sounds just like the hierarchial “God” of the christians. Just waiting for one of them to pop in here and defend the indefensible. This is why they need faith.

  47. @ROK……When you get a chance youtube “PHIL SCHNEIDER” and decipher his encounter with some of these aliens that are in our realm today. He is now a dead man.

  48. B. “Circumstances in which the particular book was written”
In addition to knowing the general history and culture of the times, it is necessary to know why a particular book was written and to whom it was written. What purpose did the author have in mind? Was there some problem he was trying to solve? Was there some comfort he was trying to correct? What was going on within the group of people to whom the book was written that caused the writer to write as he did? What was the situation of the writer at the time he wrote? How old was he? What had been happening to him recently? From where was he writing? What was his previous relationship to the people addressed? What was his frame of mind when he wrote? These are all important if we are to understand the book.

What was the last book written by Paul? Is there something in the book which is better understood by knowing that it was Paul’s last book? Who was Jude? What was going on in the church at Philippi that caused Paul concern? What was Paul talking about when he referred to “endless genealogies” in I Timothy? The book of Galations seems to talk about law and grace a great deal. Why? What was going on in the church that caused Paul to write that way? What was the purpose of John writing First John?

    C. “Where is this information available?”
We have told you that you must be careful to get historical and cultural contextual information to help you understand the part of the Holy Bible you are studying. But where is that sort of information available? There are two major types of information that will help you. There is information that is within the Holy Bible itself, and there is information that is from outside the Holy Bible itself.

Information from within the Holy Bible is, of course, the most reliable. The records of history are not without error. The Holy Bible is without error. Thus, the biblical information is the most reliable. Always search elsewhere in the Holy Bible itself first of all for the information you want. In 2 Chronicles 30:1 Hezekiah commands Israel and Judah to keep the Passover. The Passover is explained in Exodus 12:1-21; Leviticus 23:4-14; Numbers 28:16 and following; Deuteronomy 16:1-8. In Judges 13:5 we are told that Samson was to be a “Nazarite.” What is a Nazarite? Look in Numbers 6. Zephaniah talks about those that “swear by Molech.” We find who Molech is in 1 Kings 11:5, 7, 33; Leviticus 18:21 and 20:2-5. In the New Testament we see a group called the Sadducees. We get some information about them in Matthew 22:23; Mark 12:18; Luke 20:27; Acts 23:8. The Samaritans are often mentioned in the Holy Bible. We will find out about them in 2 Kings 17:24-41; Ezra 4 and Nehemiah 4.

There are many events in the Holy Bible that are recorded in more than one place. When this happens we say that the references are “parallel.” The study of parallel references is of great help. In some instances the parallel passage will have been written by the same author. Ephesians 6:5-9 and Colossians 3:22-4:1 were both written by Paul, and they both deal with the same subject. Using one of them to understand the other is helpful. Sometimes writings from different authors will help. The history that is given in 1 and 2 Samuel and 1 and 2 Kings is repeated again in 1 and 2 Chronicles. Thus, if studying a passage in 1 Samuel, find the corresponding historical account in Chronicles for a fuller understanding.

Information from outside the Holy Bible is less reliable but still very important. There are many important pieces of information that have been found by archeologists over the years. They have dug through the ruins of ancient civilizations and found large amounts of valuable information. For instance, there used to be non-Christians who said that the book of Genesis could not be true when it talked about Abraham. They said that the kingdoms mentioned in relation to Abraham were not real kingdoms since they were not recorded in history. Then, years later, there were a large number of writings found by archeologists which proved very clearly that there had been such kingdoms. The Holy Bible had been true all along and the “scholars” had been wrong. There are many books written about such archeological findings.

There are also ancient books of history that help. A very famous Jewish historian was a man named Josephus. He wrote much about the history of the time of Jesus. His information is valuable, but you must remember that he was only a man. He is not as reliable as the Holy Bible itself. Josephus was a Jew who was a friend of the Romans. This made him unpopular with many of the Jews of that day. In order to show his loyalty to the Romans, Josephus might have had a tendency to make the Romans sound better than they really were. It is not unusual for a person who wants the favor of a ruler to write things about the ruler that are flattering—and maybe even untrue.

study the Holy Bible whether you have other such books or not. While it is true that you need such books in order to help you get the fullest meaning from the Holy Bible, it is also true that the Holy Bible by itself, with no outside helps, will still give you the teaching you need to live a successful and godly life. Do not say, “If I cannot understand the Holy Bible fully, I will not study it at all.” It would be foolish to say that.

  49. Anonymous, is giving us good, valid reasons why none of us, can hope to understand the Bible, unless we use these logical principles that govern language, which is common sense, it applies also, in reading any other document, be it a Legal book, history, or whatever, even reading the daily Newspaper, if we only read a sentence, taking it out of the ‘context’ of the entire article, we may misunderstand the whole idea of the article, simple enough for me, makes a lot of sense.

But, what is becoming more and more obvious to me, is this, that as Anon explains the Bible, and how it must be approached and studied carefully, it invloves a lot of indepth understanding of many different aspects of scholarship, without which one will just not understand its overall message, and just as we listen to our medical Doctors, Engineers, etc, who use certain principles and criteria in their disciplines, so must we also listen carefully to those who have spent a life time in study of the Bible, in order to make proper sense of God’s message.

Again, unfortunately Rok and Hopi are just ranting and raving without making any sense at all, just a bunch of ‘words’ thrown here and there, no constructive contribution to the discussion, is this the way to seriously rebut what Anon is so patiently conveying?

The more I read on the Bible and history, you cannot separate the fact that you cannot understand one without the other; and this nonsense that Hopi and Rok interject about the white man doing this and that, just does not jive with the facts, and to suggest that this is one big conspiracy by the white man and the Bible, is utter nonsense, as the very white man, like all other colours of people, over history, has been severely judged by the God of the Bible as well, as I think it says somewhere in the Bible, that God ‘is no respector of persons, this means that colour don’t have one thing to do with it.

  50. Yes Hopi, I am fully aware of Schneider. I saw his presentations when it was hot news.
