Good morning folks. It seems that the power of the media isn’t as mighty as I thought. Last Wednesday, the Nation published information I sent about the crane in Paynes Bay as a letter to the Editor. Little did it do, as the operators of said crane as to date, has done nothing about repositioning the crane weight balance.
Now on to today’s topic. I wanted to send this from Christmas Eve, however, the C&W gremlins prevented such. There is a burst main (pipe) on the Husbands stretch of road in St. Lucy. I have drawn this to the attention of BWA so often, that the persons answering the phone now recognize my voice and acknowledge that I am not the only caller about this particular incident.
What is ridiculous about this situation (besides the length of time, over one month and now approaching 2) is that this is a new main laid by a contractor on behalf of the BWA. I’ve attached some pictures showing the degradation of the road. Now look at this road and tell me how long it would take for this road to become like this, seeing as this is one of the “old type constructed’ roads.
Now to make matters worse. The main on the other side of the road, about 300 meters further north, has also sprung a leak. Water can be clearly seen running from both “leaks.’ Forgive me for being frustrated about this matter, but since I have to pay a water bill, I think the General Manager of this entity should be able to get a “crew” to have a look at this situation. Please, media personnel, don’t take my word for it, make some calls, take the time to call the BWA and ascertain the facts as I have outlined them. You see, I’ve even spoken to the GM about this situation.
Maybe being a leading item on VOB or CBC, as well as front page in the Nation or Advocate may be able to elicit a response.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I appreciate your time.

Isn’t the GM at Water Authority a “St. Lucy man”? Or has he retired?

I don’t believe in politicians getting involved in everything but seeing the amount of water and the state of the road I believe that the Mayor of Moon Town should really step up his game on this one. Oh and it would make good political coverage too, you know wastage, frustrated voters, can’t get anything done because it is St. Lucy etc….. you know milk the cow to it drops (after all it is the silly season in full swing) that is what I would do. If it were Barney, or the Attorney General in his shoes they would act that out great. Kerry Symmons too, he might even give us a cry.
