nlynch.jpg One of the most lopsided sidebar polls we have had so far is the one quoted above. One of the most discussed Ministers in the government has been Noel Lynch. He is one of the longest serving Ministers in the Arthur cabinet and we believe a reasonable assumption can be made that he has the confidence of Prime Minister Owen Arthur. However, when we read the blogs and listen to the call-in programs, Minister Lynch continues to attract controversial feedback from those people who are bold enough to share their views in public. We will put our hand up and say that our polls are unscientific and the only purpose is to give vent to those BU family members who are incline to offer an opinion.

If possible, we want to encourage dispassionate discussion about our long serving Minister of Tourism. Let us discuss his record; let us discuss his achievements and his failings. We know Arthur to be a shrewd Prime Minister and doubt that he would keep Lynch in position if he thought he was failing so miserably in the way Wishing in VainBU Commenter would want to suggest.

Some of you will ask why have we singled-out Minister Lynch and the answer is straight forward. He presides over the most important ministry in the cabinet of Barbados.

The major issue for me is the willingnes of the highest law in this land to be lying on behalf of Owen and to be part of the scam to hide documents of public records from the citizens of this island, this is dishonest and it should not be allowed to take place.

Fred i attempt to look the appointment of David Simmonds outside of the clear conflict it presents as far as independence of the judiciary is concern. I tried to look at the possibility of this current GoB having influence within the judiciary with Simmonds appointment. You see a lot of things this GoB does is influence by the activities that takes place in the governance of the US. I was never fooled by their continued cussing and waring with the US government becuase their behaviour in their domestic space are mirrored quite well. ……No one took my musing seriously, which is typical of the nakededness of the pragmatics running the mainstream media and moreso now the Blogs. They can’t see beyond their nose, which is indicative of the extent to which the facts are made available to us if ever.

‘The Barbados Labour Party has come up with a mechanism to ensure that candidates stick to the truth during the election campaign’.

Does that mean they revert to lying after 15th January 2008?

Then I suggest that no-one asks Minister Noel Lynch ANY questions until after 15th January.

‘In fact, Barbados is ahead of other affiliates in terms of tourism arrivals, according to figures from the Caribbean Tourism Organisation’.

So said Minister Noel Lynch, 12th December 2007- Nation in an article headlined ‘Tourism on the up and up’.

Now from the CTO and taken from their publication ‘Latest Statistics 2007’ published 3rd January 2008.

Table 3. Tourist Arrivals by Main Market 2007.
    USA, Canada, Europe and Other
