Submitted by Sunshine Sunny Shine (SSS)Rumour has it, or should I say, it is alleged, that the minister of finance, Barbados, the honourable Chris Sinckler, might be involved, I repeat, might be involved in a shady deal concerning the purchasing of an expensive Range Rover. Let me say here that the source of this information is currently making the rounds on social media, Whatsapp, having originated from Naked Departures. I think. Now the SSS is not in the habit of addressing information that cannot be substantiated, but because the DLP have shown themselves to be a shady bunch, I AM GOING TO MAKE AN EXCEPTION.

Chris, the allegation against you is that you got accounts in the UK. Now, for all intents, purposes, verifications and understandings, we want to know what work or business you do in the UK that you have accounts there. Not that it is any of our business, but we still want to know. We also want to know this as well. If you are not operating, I mean working in the UK, or running a business, how are you able to cart money out of Barbados into a UK account or accounts. You got some special arrangement with a bank or banks in Barbados permitting this or is there some consortium establish to take care of these things without a trace?

The other rumour is that your account(s) in the UK are under investigation. Chris, if your hands are clean and your business is legit, what reasons do the UK authorities have to investigate you and your accounts? We understand that the white man that went missing turned up dead, dead, dead, and police in investigating his demise has come up with a series of cheques in your name re the purchasing of one Range Rover. Chris, a Range Rover, ain’t cheap; you really was planning to bring that in Barbados or leave it up there in the UK. So when you visit you can drive around in style? Also, was this white man your contact for these vehicles and a legitimate business person that you a finance minister felt it prudent to do business with him? I am not even going to bother about the part where you told the now dead white man about making sure the cheques do not trace back to you because there is no way in the world that you could be that foolish.

However, what is of interest is the fact that some of these expensive UK luxury vehicles went missing in the UK, now in Barbados, according to the allegation. Chris, this is only a rumour that I repeating but if there is any truth to them, your involvement makes you an accessory to a crime. And, the fact that the white man ended up dead, Lord have mercy, makes you also a prime suspect. Was MICHAEL LASHELY INVOLVED?

Chris, what got me dumbfounded, though, is that you put cheques in your name and expect that they are not going to leave a trail. Well, Well, Well, all I can say is that this tells me that you had a lot of confidence in your business arrangement with this now end up dead white man. But, look, to be honest, none of this cannot be true, you are minister of finance, an honest, upright son of Barbadian soil. Many Barbadians think that you tell a lot of lies. It is not like you did not say that the reason you must raise bus fares some few years ago is because young girls were being ferried out of Barbados into prostitution rings. Oops sorry has no baring on this matter. Please strike from the record.

Chris, even if you tell lies them is only Barbadians lies; so, them there lies only count in the context of things bajan. Chris, I am asking you to be called to account because in the interest of you and the Democratic Labour Party, we know that you have already damaged your credibility and DEM ain’t got none at all.  Come clean and dispel this nonsense.

We call you to account.

“Not that it is any of our business, but we still want to know.”

Yes it is our business, those are extremely serious allegations for a taxpayer funded public official, he is not his own boss, the taxpayer’s are and because it is illegal to launder significant amounts of cash…over 10,000 dollars……anywhere…….

……it is important we know if Interpol, Scotland Yard and as some have been whispering….FBI are investigating 4 or 5 ministers and a certain crooked, parasitic minority in the business community. …now that would be a thing..

… if so, instead of planning to tief an election in 2018, they may want to consider resigning forthwith….and give up the thieves and criminals in the minority population….you know, the money launderers, drug and gunrunners..

More importantly was Carson Yardfowl Cadogan involved, now that would be a thing…lol

  2. None of this seen to be true since Mr. Sickler is the Minister of Finance and an honest, upright son of Barbadian soil. I believe it is but fair to let the goodly gentleman explain all these allegations.
The question was asked “Was MICHAEL LASHELY INVOLVED”. The public should also give him a chance to explain these allegations.

  3. What is the old saying? Never smoke without fire? Will anything happen even if there is an investigation into the man’s death and evidence is found…understand he paid twenty percent duty on bringing in cars in parts, but often paid even less. It’s a smoking, stinking pot…no pun intended!

  4. Ahaha. You really waiting for an explanation? More fool you.

  5. I would hope that politics in Barbados can be conducted at a higher level than this.

I see BU is preoccupied with the cars that the PM and his MoF are believed to be buying. Thank God we don’t have the corruption problems of African countries, where the Head Man invariably steals millions (or billions of dollars) from the state coffers for his own accounts.

Now can we move on to a policy discussion.

Ask Darcy Boyce the expert utilized by political parties in hiding finders fees. The FIU have the info but will the Acting DPP move to prosecute

  8. Charles Leacock died long enough for there to an appointed DPP. Politicians would ensure that the post is not filled so as to put pressure on the acting DPP to be a compliant little DPP and do nothing to offend the politicians or she would not get the job.

Fill the damn job and allow whoever to act independently.

  9. I could never understand why some people feel that they need luxury cars to drive on Barbados’ roads…………beats me, is this need for expensive material things a need to satisfy some inner insecurity? Yes, one needs a car but a range rover?

But wait, where is the yard fowl CCC these days?

  10. There is nothing wrong with driving luxury cars although I prefer sport sedans with a 5 or 6 speed gearbox.

However if you have to tief to buy one….. that is wrong.

  13. Anything that befalls a DLP Minister, is welcome. I will say again, this wicked bunch of DLP Ministers are curse for they evil actions in governing Barbados. The curse, started to affect some of them, by the physical form of a big guts, “the subject of this post got his gut pin-up” and ugly faces, then a kind of ugliness In every action with corruption that further corroded some civil servants, and the society

  14. If the media here are too pussy to check out this story, maybe the UK press can be invited to investigate it since it looks like there might be a connection to a line of investigations going on there.

  15. If “stolen” British range rovers have arrived in Barbados let us call them a teeny, tiny down payment on reparations due.

And one dead white English guy?

Tell me how many dead, dead, dead African, children, women and men are on the floor of the Atlantic Ocean? You don’t want to think about it? Well THINK.

Dead people put there by the British, and the French and the Spanish, and the Dutch and the Portuguese. And some were not even dead when they were tossed into the depths.

Those were people too. They were people’s sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, people’s children.

No. One does not need a car.

I haven’t had one in decades and I am healthy and happy.

One day I asked myself “why do you need a ton of metal, glass and plastic to tote this 120 pound body around?”

    I couldn’t find a good answer and haven’t bought a car since.

My concern in this matter, if true, is how Chris Sinckler managed to get thousands, if thousands, millions, if millions, of Barbados dollars out of the country. Nothing is wrong at all in buying a luxury vehicle, especially when you are a known money maker, own a profitable business or simply a known rich man. If you are Chris Sinckler, on the other hand, and working for a minister’s salary, where you originated from humble means, then you should be subject to frigging well proving where you got the money, especially if personal bank statements do not show a long pattern of savings over a period of time. Buying such vehicles and other material trappings in quick succession should be cause for concern. Chris Sinckler already drives a very expensive Audi Q5 or whichever model it is. If he has the money to buy such a vehicle and can still find the money to buy a Range Rover, he should be questioned as to how he is able to achieve this. We already had one crooked former politician getting away with murder when he was asked how he could buy a whole plantation and refurbish it from a politicians salary. That corrupt son of a bitch is now enjoying his sweets and flying regularly into the sunset. We also have another crooked son of a bitch in the form of Leroy Parris who can walk around in Barbados carefree, while his controversial earnings remain locked up in a court case and other savings of millions held for him in escrow. There is a pattern here to be followed when you look at the operations of both DLP and BLP from the actions of their skulduggery.

  18. There is a story going around with a similar narrative indicating that it is Dale Marshall who is involved in the purchase of a Range Rover.

So which story must one follow ?

This should be an easy case to crack. You have an alleged currently Acting Barbados Chief of Police who was allegedly involved with a stolen cars racket from the same UK to Barbados years ago and investigated by Scotland Yard previously highlighted on this blog before.

The fact is there are NO honest Politicians in Barbados either both DLP or BLP.

I am yet also to meet any honest Police in Barbados and I know tons of them.

I know the Minister of Finance professionally and believe there may be parts of this blog which may be true based on my interactions with both him and Michael Lashley Minister of Transportation and Works.

I could say more as these guys are also involved with some of the biggest gun and drug importers and sellers in Barbados.

  24. Recall the huge barefaced lie Sinckler told Parliament and Barbados that two people overheard a conversation which suggested he Sinckler was the target of a threat to his life.Further the thiefing speaker confirmed he received a letter with that information.Junk status country.
Recall too that the acting cop was the subject of an investigation into a stolen car racket out of the UK.Dottin can tell Barbados if that is true and what has happened to the court proceedings.Junk status country.
Recall too Darcy Boyce was called a Quisling by OSA.OSA had to know why he called that man what is commonly known as a traitor and tell us whether he can be trusted now that he is in the DLP camp.

Say more to the outside authorities that can take them all down and clean up the island while sending a message to the new political parties, particularly to those who have the propensity and are already known to be dishonest, that the people who have to pay their salaries and who are their bosses, will no longer tolerate such blatantly criminal behaviors in or out of the people’s parliament while ministers and politicians are on the taxpayer payroll.

Send a message that they all can hear loud and clear.

  28. It is a known fact that many first and third world countries have in the past and are currently prosecuting heads of governments, past heads of government, ministers of government (past and present), highly placed bankers and public officials, lawyers etc and convicting them for financial crimes committed against the state and the people.

Fortunately for us in Barbados, we have never had this problem and probably never will as ALL of our politicians, attorneys, doctors, bankers and business executives are of the highest integrity and have never nor would ever stoop so low as to commit a financial crime, be involved in drug and people trafficking, gun running or any other underhanded dealings that would bring disgrace to our beloved Barbados.

Now if you believe that let me know and I’ll tell yo another one!

Do you not find it passing strange that just about every other country in this world is investigating and prosecuting white collar crime at the highest level and we don’t have one single dishonest public official in Bim? Phenomenal, don’t you think?

  29. Has the Attorney General or Leader of the Opposition issued a statement on the vacant DPP position? Is it not an important enough position to merit national conversation and advocacy by the NBA and other NGOs?

A people get the governance it deserves.

  30. @Chad99999 September 19, at 9:13 PM ..re “I would hope that politics in Barbados can be conducted at a higher level than this.”

    Yep, let’s hope that.

Let’s also hope someone is prosecuted for that polonium poison episode in UK, years ago…not just glorious reports and investigations but real ” politics” of action at a high level….yeah!

And while we are at it, maybe an FOI (US, freedom of info) on the allegations re JMGM Adams and items found by US authorities….and the list goes on.

My point is similar to that of the FearPlay blogger…. do we really expect to see a Bajan politician do a ‘perp walk’…. our pols are just too scared the house of cards will crush them as it crumbles…so everyone protects everyone!

Frustrated Businessman: Animal Farm sequel playing out in Bim.

Chris wanted a nice stolen Range Rover to match the ones his pal Michael Lashley and his drug-dealing friend and campaign financier Bounty have.

Meanwhile the acting COP wants everyone to forget that he was on administrative leave for over a year while the last UK car-theft ring that implicated him was being investigated by Scotland Yard.

We are governed by a den of thieves. Those in the cabinet who don’t have their hands in the pot are complicit.

There will be no economic recovery under Fumble’s Fools. What they don’t squander they steal.

  33. The post of DPP is too important to have someone acting in it when there is a vacancy. The only reason to keep an acting person in place would be to exert undue influence on that person and hopefully keep the, from acting independently.

No one in authority has to say the actual words, but it is clearly understood, if an acting DPP prosecutes the “wrong” person, say goodbye to a substantive appointment. Now if you fail to prosecute when you had good grounds and then subsequently appointed, such a person would have that hanging over his head for the balance of his career to be used whenever he tries to flex his muscles.

Barbados has qualified for the status of banana republic.

..the corruption runs very deep and all the names being called wants it to continue unabated to their own benefit for decades into the future….but the majority population now has that very rare and golden opportunity to put an end to the bribery, corruption and those who engage in it, ministers, politicians, minoririties and yardfowls…permanently.

  35. I don’t think that you are being fair to acting Commissioner of Police. He bought a car from a legitimate business or so he thought. He was not a favourite at the time and the police force did not attempt to shelter him from any allegations. He was dragged through the process and his name was cleared. He was not guilty of any involvement in that stolen car racket.

The mess that is existing today seems totally different. That Englishman, who imported the stolen cars and paid with his life, was known to be involved with local criminals. Anyone dealing with him would have been on notice and did not care because they did not anticipate these turn of events.

    Well put, FB!

Let us see how nationalistically serious the Opposition is in saving Barbados from the worst government ever visited upon poor Barbados and which has wreaked more economic havoc and social damage and has so badly battered the psyche of the already depressed masses that its classification of a category 5 hurricane identical to the twinning of Irma and Maria is well-deserving.

But we all know that in political world of Barbados friendship among those in the political class of black crooks and liars is greater than the bond of honour sealed in the hearts of the Musketeers and but expressed in its moral apogee in the dying motto of the Bajan political class of Ali Baba and the 29 thieves in the Lying House of Corruption & Bribe-taking.
    ‘All for One, One for All;
    Cross our path, prepare to fall;
‘Cause we’ll fight you (the sheeple class)’.

Maybe the spirit of Maria would visit Ch Ch West and bring a Constitutionally-premature end to this gruelingly sordid phenomenon of wicked governance imposed on the good people of Barbados over the last 9 years.

    Ave, Maria!

    Sortof Caswell.

What made the situation more difficult at the time was that there WERE police and customs officials involved in the racket locally and so all police and customs connections came under greater scrutiny. One of the police involved at the time was one of the founders of the BIRC (Barbados illegal racing club) so not even street racing was being reported and prosecuted.

The current mess is much the same except Limey was told by local villains that if he removed the wheels and seats from the Range Rovers and shipped them under-invoiced on a pallet, the same local customs officers involved in smuggling everything else into Barbados would make sure they only paid 5% import duty when entered and inspected as a bodyshell.

Foreign supplier, local facilitator, local corrupt officials, dodgy customers.

All because WE HAVE ZERO OVERSIGHT OF ANY CIVIL SERVICE OR STATUTORY CORPORATION IN THIS COUNTRY!!

Overseers on horses with whips is the only way this country ever produced anything. What we have now is anarchy from top to bottom, every man for himself

  38. Good intervention Caswell….

  39. Without knowing if the answer to the question posed to Sinckler in this submission is correct the BU household is of the certain view that an unholy relationship exist by ‘group’ that permits the routine entry of ‘unchecked’ items into Barbados. Thie ‘group’ is made up of custom brokers, security guards, police, politicians, public servants and so on.

  40. The whole mess – true or not – would not arise if Barbadian policy was not to disrupt all international trade. The current policy sets such high customs, duties etc pp that importing cars to Barbados is now more expensive per kg than cocaine. If the great trading powers of the world (China, Japan and Germany) had such an attitude towards trade, you couldn´t buy any nail or screwdriver in Barbados.

I really beg McClean to shut down the mission in Geneva. Since Barbados clearly acts against the spirit of WTO and international trade, the government should withdraw from that platform.

No crazy customs and taxes = no crime related to importing goods.

p.s. Buying a Landy is sh… in any case. Like buying German premium cars in Bim. There is no proper servicing for them on this island.

Couldn’t agree with you more! A perfect example of having a champagne taste with a lemonade pocket while living in a rented house without toilet facilities or a carport located next to the busy road.

These vehicles are made incapable of operating at their expected level of normal efficiency.
Not only because of the inferior quality of petroleum-based fuel available but also of the fact that the 2×3 island’s road network is permanently congested and basically made up of patchy makeover donkey cart roads perennially subject to flooding and potholes instead of the well-designed autobahns for which these premium cars were purposely manufactured.

What a waste of scarce foreign exchange that should have gone into the expansion and improvement of the country’s infrastructure and the modernization of its public transportation system so vitally important to any chance of further economic and social development.
