Alleged chemical attack on the Syrian people

Who or what gave US President Donald Trump and the Government of the USA the right to set themselves up as the prosecutor, judge, jury and executioner of the Government of Syria? The short and simple answer is that neither President Trump nor the US Government possessed any such right!

International Law stipulates that it is the United Nations Security Council โ€” a body that represents the Will of the entire community of nations โ€” that possesses the right and responsibility to determine whether a breach of the peace or an act of aggression has been carried out by any nation or regime, and whether a punitive armed response is required.

Thus, if it is being alleged that the Assad governmental administration of Syria carried out an inherently illegal chemical weapons attack on the people of Syria, it is the responsibility of the UN Security Council to investigate the matter; to make a determination of innocence or guilt; and if guilt is established, to decide upon the appropriate response and punishment.

Virtually the entire World Community accepts that this is the settled International Law position.ย  But not the USA!ย  No, not a country that has wedded itself to the delusional and manifestly fraudulent doctrine of โ€œAmerican Exceptionalismโ€.ย  President Trump and virtually every other member of the US Establishment is capable of casually dismissing out-of-hand the settled, positive logic and rationality of International Law by engaging in a form of delusional โ€œpseudo – logicโ€ that goes something like this:-

โ€œThe USA is a special and inherently โ€˜goodโ€™ nation. And since the USA is an inherently โ€œgoodโ€ nation, it means that its actions and policies will always be based on and for โ€œthe goodโ€.ย  Thus, the ordinary rules of International Law do not apply to the USA, and the USA is therefore at liberty to take unilateral action to impose its inherently โ€œgoodโ€ policies on a backward and wicked worldโ€.

This is the kind of warped โ€œlogicโ€ that President Obama used to justify his sending of drones half-way around the world to assassinate men and women who have never been tried and convicted in any Court of law, and to do so even if it means killing dozens of totally innocent children, women and men who simply happen to be in the locality of the assassination target when the missiles come raining down. No doubt, this is also the kind of warped โ€œlogicโ€ that Trump used to justify last night’s โ€œpunitiveโ€ missile strike on Syria. And mind you, this kind of โ€œlogicโ€ comes from a nation that has committed genocide against its native people; that enslaved Africans for almost 250 years; that inflicted segregation and lynching on black Americans for over 100 years; that is the only nation on earth to drop atomic bombs on human beings; that used chemical weapons against the Vietnamese and other Asians; and that has illegally intervened in and invaded scores of countries, among a host of other crimes.

As much as we may dislike President Assad of Syria and his Administration we all still need to say loudly and firmly to US President Donald Trump that the USAย  is NOT an exceptional country, and that like every other country in the world, the rules of International Law apply to it too! If we fail to do so, we will actually be promoting the “Law of the Jungle” where “might makes right” and small nations like ours have no rights that need be respected.

Byย  unilaterally launching a missile attack on Syria Donald Trump has actually committed a crime under International Law. And if International Law is to have any meaning or validity all responsible governments of the world must now call upon the United Nations Security Council and the International Criminal Court to launchย  War Crimes investigations against both Presidents Trump and Assad and their Administrations.

  3. David: I have no doubt that the USA took unilateral action and should have referred the matter to the U.N . By the time if ever,a decision would have been made it more than likely would have been too late. It is sort of like the judicial system in Barbados!
On another point you bring up, reparation, has nothing to do with this issue but you persist in dragging it in. I for one think you are beating a dead horse on that issue, however you are not doing your case any good by tying it to almost everything, hope it is not part of your objection to the Hyatt!

In January 29, 2013, Britainโ€™s most popular Daily Newspaper, in its online version Dailymailcouk published an article titled:

U.S. โ€˜backed plan to launch chemical weapon attack on Syria and blame it on Assadโ€™s regimeโ€™

A few days later they pulled the article. What the reason was for the deletion remains unclear.

Here are a few paragraphs from the article that the Daily Mail deleted from their web site without explanation and which claimed the US was preparing a false flag attack with chemical weapons to be blamed on Assad.

“Leaked emails have allegedly proved that the White House gave the green light to a chemical weapons attack in Syria that could be blamed on Assad’s regime and in turn, spur international military action in the devastated country.

A report released on Monday contains an email exchange between two senior officials at British-based contractor Britam Defence where a scheme ‘approved by Washington’ is outlined explaining that Qatar would fund rebel forces in Syria to use chemical weapons.

Barack Obama made it clear to Syrian president Bashar al-Assad last month that the U.S. would not tolerate Syria using chemical weapons against its own people.”

By bypassing the UN Security Council (with all its warts) The USA is setting the stage for others to use their precedent in future.

    Israel comes to mind.

Recall the recent SUCCESSFUL UN resolution condemning those illegal settlements….?
Know that Israel recently approved even MORE illegal settlements….

What is to stop another ‘exceptional nation’ from now taking unilateral steps against this clear international breech by Israel – with a series of ‘punitive’ strikes against these settlements…?
…especially knowing how the USA would block any action by the UN…

These are obvious lies and false flag actions.

There is NO REASON that Assad would take such a risk at this stage of having practically WON the war…..and having full Russian support. He had /has NOTHING to gain, …and everything to lose.

This is clearly a USA setup – a fact reinforced by their unnatural HASTE to action, …when a full investigation could have been conducted in a week or two…

More importantly, which country is selling the chemical weapons to kill innpcent children and other civilians.

There should be no surprise that trump did not know or cared less that UN the security council and congress were supposed to apporove that airstrike….his ass is in hot water for colluding with Russia and he could very well pay a heavy price for treason……so any distraction would do, a bombing is ideal…let’s hope it leads to war crimes ci0onviction for him, because all the airstrike did was kill more innocent child.

You are seeing the nastiness and evil that resides in the hearts of demons like trump, putin and assad. This is the reality.

“ABC Breaks Syria Exclusive โ€“ Assad Knew Of Attack โ€“ Bombs Were For Show

It has been confirmed by U.S officials late Thursday that Russia had been informed about the plan that was in action to attack Syria, and it seems that they used this knowledge to warn Syria. The base Trump attacked in Syria was essentially empty.

Thursday nightโ€™s raid on Syrian airbase Shayrat seems to have been anticipated by Syrian military officials, as they evacuated personnel and were seen moving equipment ahead of the strike, according to an eyewitness. This tells you everything you need to know.

    Subscribe to our Youtube Channel
According the same eyewitness, it is believed that human casualties, at least civilians, were minimal, because there did not seem to be any traffic heading toward to local hospital.

This leaves us to ask the question, what was the point of this attack? It seems that the point was for Trump to flex his power and show it off to world leaders. Unfortunately for Trump most world leaders already know that Trump is a joke, and one of the most disastrous presidents there has ever been. It is likely that the world leaders know, just like the American people, know not to buy into President Trumps scare tactics, leaving us to wonder what the repercussions of this attack will be.

Former National Security Adviser Richard Clarke told ABC News:

โ€œThis attack on one air base seems more symbolic. I think Secretary of Defense General James Mattis gave the president a list of options, this being the smallest. It was a targeted attack not designed to overwhelm the Syrian military โ€ฆ I think the president was trying to differentiate himself from his predecessor.โ€

Trump has turned to putting the blame on Obama, of course, calling him out for his weakness, and trying to say that is the reason for the violence escalating is Syria. It is not a surprise that he has turned this around on Obama, he does it quite often. It is quite humorous to say the least because Trump himself had tweeted many times during Obamas presidency telling him that we needed to stay out of Syria all together, and focus on America.”

Charles…trump’s fraud airstrike also killed innocent children, he warned Russia he was pretending a bombing and Russia warned Assad so they could move their chemical weapons to safety……none of them warned the children or other people who got killed to move out of the way…what have you to say to that…..yall are too gullible, too easily fooled by evil, self-serving leaders.

Everybody knows Trump is a hypocrite not far removed from being a dictator himself. His actions lends more to self promoting and a flexing of muscular reinforcement by which he does not need judicial approval for permission
The first months of his presidency has been horrific failures and his present act of deliberate invasion is his only way of making himself relevant and climbing his sleezy way back to the top
When all is said and done Trump invasion of Syria would have given terrorist another opening to shed more blood and gore across the global hemisphere on innocent lives
War is nit an indicator to peace.never have and never will be even when the bombs stop falling.

Commisong there is something inherently twisted and warped about you.

While you could be applauded for raising and challenging local issues and using the Law Court to fight battles to challenge the status quo, you are very twisted in your ideology.

You supported or support brutal dictators like Chavez, Assad and idiot bus driver Maduro in Venezuela not giving one iota to the suffering of their people.

Why do you live in Barbados and not in one of these regimes you glorify and defend past the point of being absurd?

I was a former member of the US Armed Forces as a Commission officer and did not support the 1st gulf war or 2nd even though I was active duty during the period and responsible for leading troops.

Not everyone in the US supports the US government unilaterally so you talking about what happened in the past to justify these guys atrocious and in some cases evil acts speaks to a twisted mind.

I also question your sincerity, you March with the BLP yet it is common knowledge there are major crooks and opportunists in B and D parties.

You head your own political party; credibility and transparency would dictate having your own peoples march not join the same corrupted and opportunists. I am sure Mia and her crew would not appear in one of your organised marches.

Like they say birds of a feather flock together.

I have dealt with local Ministers both as a donor and as a businessman so I know the Devils better than most.

  25. Those who imbibe the koolaid will never understand. While they remain stupid under the star bangled banner another generation of ‘jihadist’ is born.

    And it continues.

  26. One thing the USA should be learning is that in the years after 9/11 the world in general has become much more aware of how states including the US plan and create false flag attacks to be blamed on whatever “enemy du jour” they happen to want to demonzie or attack. Just look up “Operation Northwoods” and “Operation Gladio” if you naively think western ”democracies” would not engage in such underhanded behavior.

Even the mother of all false flag attacks, 9/11 itself, is slowly unwinding in the background as more and more people realize there are many holes in the official story. Co-chair of the 9/11 Commision Lee Hamilton said after publishing their final report that their commission had been “set up to fail”. Hamilton also said that people should keep asking questions about 9/11.

Recently a mathematician, Peter Ketcham, who used to work for the USA’s National Institue of Standards and Technology (NIST) has come forward to declare that the official reports NIST produced to explain why 3 WTC buildings 1,2 & 7 collapsed in such rapid and dramatic fashion on 9/11 are rubbish. He was working for NIST at the time NIST was investigating the cause of the three WTC collapses but his job at the time did not involve him in the WTC investigations. Only after leaving NIST after putting in 14 years of service there, did he look into the NIST reports in detail and realized that the NIST reports appeared to be either an example of gross incompetence (to a mind boggling extent) on the part of the NIST investigating team or more likely an intentional coverup to hide the use of controlled demolition techniques using explosives to implode/explode the buildings.

In the video below former NIST employee and mathematician Peter Ketcham gives implicit support to the call by 2800 architects and engineers who have signed a petition calling for a new investigation into the WTC building collapses as he explains why he thinks the NIST reports are coverups:

Short quote from Peter Ketcham in the video linked below:
โ€œAsymmetric damage does not lead to symmetric collapse. it’s very difficult to get something to collapse symmetrically because it is the law of physics that things tend towards chaos. Collapsing symmetrically represents order – very strict order. It is not the nature of physics to gravitate towards order for no reason. It will gravitate towards chaos. It is very difficult to get a building to collapse symmetrically.โ€

You missed the point, to repeat. Many who post anonymously on BU are members of the local media.

You can have the last word on this matter.

  37. Critics of the strikes have raced to attack the US for blaming Assad, dismissing physical evidence against him and arguing that it would be irrational for the Syrian leader to use chemical weapons.

Russia and Syria have claimed the sarin came from rebel stockpiles hit accidentally by government bombs, an argument dismissed by chemical weapons experts and inconsistent with evidence at the site of the attack.

  38. ” Many who post on BU are members of local media” now that is an observation one which is hardpress to take seriously.

  39. There is also the North Korea elephant and the influence Russia has in that country as well. There is obviously a rich dose of geopolitics at play. We cannot continue to be always naive about these matters.

  40. We wonder what those who disagree with Comissiong would say

When Russia bombs the USA in defense of Black people who are being systematically killed by the regime in Washington.

Would that not follow this misguided ‘humanitarian interventionism’ the same UN, that some here seem to have high confidence in. A policy engineered to violate other UN principles and to destroy the once holy grail of ‘territorial integrity’.

Trump’s fictitious and immoral, deceitfulness, has nothing to do with humanitarian concerns

Indeed, he is merely using these contrive circumstances as a public relations gambit

We now know know, for sure, that previous claims where contrived by the Americans, their satrapies and their mercenaries operating on the ground.

Is it not possible that this is no different. That the Syrians could have shelled a building containing sarin or other militarized gases?

Why the rush to blame Assad?

This incident is aimed not at Syria per se but at deflecting the pressures which the ‘deep state’ have Trump under, to the point of collapsing his administration.

The evidence of this is clear. As media are, for a number of days now, concentrating on Syria, not Russiagate.

This should tell us that the ‘deep state’ is even now willing to reward Trump should he give more signals that he is willing to jettison his Russia policy. Reading the tea leaves.

This has nothing to do with morals. Trump is well-described as a narcissist. Narcissism is characterized by the lack of empathy.

Now what has Trump ever done, in his whole life, to show empathy, even to his flesh and blood.

And where was this empathy when his troops in Iraq, a few weeks ago, murdered scores of men. women and child in Mosul. There were no tears for them, the media barely covered those American killings.

And when they covered the Iraqi dead it was in deference to the American bombers of civilians. We are to see this incident as an innocent mistake.

With exceptionalism you can avoid war crime charges but with a straight face march others to the Hague.

But Comissiong argues that there is no such thing as an ‘American exceptionalism’. We disagree to some extent. These extent that this false argumentation should not be true.

But what is truth? Or what is art? The answer is the same. What ever people with money say they are.

And see how others bow to the ‘exceptionalism’. Stinking poooookey Theresa May, Angela Merkel, the Saudis and other lackeys to the printing presses of the American government dollar supremacy.

There is an exceptionalism for murder, genocide, militarism, and so on. If there is a Devil, America is best representative.

A few months ago Trumps, a man with a philosophy of having no philosophy, had agreed that the Americans were behind Deash.

Trump should deny that Deash were not on the ground lighting up the targets for the American Tomahawks.

Today, Trump is prepared to accept the fiction that these savages are not an American creation.

Only a demonic country could elevate such a man as Devil. A man who lacks empathy, a racist, a survivor at any costs, a man bereft of any sense of history………….. the quintessential AmeriKan.

Trump, like Obama, has shown how the military can be deployed in self defense. The defense of Trump and his administration by paying tribute to the real big Devils of the underworld. This is nothing more.

Of course, deep state forces stand ready to reward him when he is prepared to serve their interests.

And he knows by now what his orders are.

America is bare bluster. They cannot win against anybody in a real war scenarios. So they want to use dispensable forces (Daesh) to fight for them. Like a Praetorian guard.

We are into 6th and 7th generation warfare. The days of the traditional invasion are done. We never mentioned ‘invasions to save Black people’ we talked about bombings to stop the killing, on humanitarian grounds.

Of course, under 6th and 7th generations scenarios an invasion is more likely to be technological. Thus having the capability to destroy the whole country overnight and send it into the Dark Ages.

Can’t you see the hands of the Christians and Christian-Zionists behind all these imposed wars?

  49. David Comissiong

Few would doubt your aged determination for the advancement of Black people and other suppressed peoples of the world.

There is no doubt in our minds.

And we well know of your political involvements.

However, to suggest that the CPM was always the centre of your work is imprecise.

For there was a long sojourn working with a BLP government as Chairman of ………….

Then you have this recent history of defending the BLP which makes the absence of membership a small point. We know that there are a lot of people who act in the interests of political parties who are not members.

You seemed never overly concerned about the appearance nepotism in recent time as you viciously attacked OSA, in the defense of MAM.

A woman yet to explain to the people of Barbados the circumstances around the biting out of another woman’s vagina.

Indeed, should you have a Damascus Road conversion, and the duopoly is not unknown for such, the DLP will say that you never resigned in the first place, ala Don Blackman.

David! You are one of our best citizens but your partisan political interventions cannot present as clean hands as if washed in the blood of the lamb.
