trump-pence

What concerned me most during the run up to the election was the planned false reporting by the corporate media and some of the major internet sites. The election was always much closer than they were purposely misreporting, and only folks who had the opportunity to hear or read news from alternative sources that the election would be a dog fight and not a cake walk for Hillary – BU Commenter Bajan in NY

Against the the run of popular opinion Donald Trump was elected the 45th president of the United States of America. What is bodes for the world time will tell. What is reaffirms to the BU household is that the voice of the people is the voice of God.

On behalf of Barbados Underground (for what it is worth) we congratulate Donald Trump and hope he will be able to advance the cause of mankind as President of the United States.

  1. Inarticulate?

Hal Austin has always made pejorative statements about Muslims for years on this blog. That is the well from whence the last dirty look at Prophet Mohammad comes from.

These have been central to your MO.

More generally, we hereby indict you with an Islamophobia of the worst kind. The kind not of your own making but derived from the ‘fire rage’ of your White masters.

And we would expect you to hate the Irish as much as those masters have historically disliked them as well.

“The anomaly that should be researched has been the Obamas.”
    ……………………………………………………………………………………………….

It is no anomaly……Trump repeated Obamas formula of “yes we can” with “we will make america great again”……the masses of the western world are disillusioned and are willing to cling to anyone that offers them hope even a charlatan as we saw happened in Bim.

As you have said before it took a lot of “white”votes to elect Obama…..these voters lost faith in the Democrats because if Obama could not deliver, how could Hilary do it.

Obama could not deliver because he only had 2 years(08-10) before the GOP retook both houses and even in those 2 years he was stymied by some of his own democrats.

  4. Instead or attacking Trump take a deep look at his policies which if passed can take the country backwards onva patch of utra extreme for further divide as being exhibited by the way world leaders are reacting with skepticism and having USA streets flooded with anti Trump slogans .
The country would be in for a bumpy ride expect more dreadlock and little of nothing being done to support his promises most of which where to appease rather than face the facts and issues of a global economy

  5. Obama could not deliver because he wasted most of his first two years in office. He is not an economist or a banker and was clueless about economic and trade policies -so he simply accepted the status quo thinking of the Establishment.. He was reluctant to tackle immigration reform because it would put a lot of his political capital at risk and imperil his re-election. He botched Healthcare reform whwn he decided to allow the corrupt Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi to write the bill.

    Forget Trump!
Barbadians are being advised to “forget [Donald] Trump” and switch their focus to the next general election constitutionally due here in just over a year. In an hour-long video on Facebook in reaction to Tuesday’s election in the United States, in which…

@Vincent Haynes November at 8:30 AM # re It is no anomaly……Trump repeated Obamas formula of “yes we can” with “we will make america great again”……” —- WELL STATED.

But if you get a chance do further distill…”Obama could not deliver…”.

It is clear that the President did not fulfill on some key measures with the two most glaring his foreign policy moves and the ACA which needs a broader functional structure.

But by every other blunt economic and social measures he has been batting well over .400, for the baseball cognoscenti, even as made some bloopers ; scored a sublime double century* (not out) on the cricket field even as he had several edges and go beaten badly and often on off due to tough bowling and had a drop catch or two for good measure.

We acclaim loudly folks who do that sort of thing. Loudly!

@Bush Tea November at 7:35 AM…. that was a sweet piece… the biblical analogies may be a bit over the top, but good stuff.

If Trump is ” Barabbas”for whom the people people voted so overwhelmingly then the goodly fellow Barrack is Jesus…and with that in mind then we should be alright for the next four years too!

You are the true word craftsman on this site!!!

  8. Chuckle……we wait with bated breath to see the wonders to be performed by Trump…..the same way he promissed to create 6000 jobs in Scotland and so far he has reached 97 jobs over the years…….the human fallacy always looking for and believing in saviours.

  9. So what is the argument here ?hiw can one say Obama did not deliver on his polices when his policies are being challenged and threatened for reversal by D T .policies which were delivered on the Envviroment.. Energy.and health being challenged and threatened to be ripped apart if DT has his way not to mention policies like Nafta under a democractic administration was initiated and free trade agreements which were initiatives to create growth and stymied unemployment in other developing countries
We wait and see what DT policies would offer not just to deliver promises borne out of political rhetoric but policies grounded in making a world a more peaceful and better place.

    +++++++
Who died? From a personal POV my financial improved a bit after the markets rallied yesterday but this isn’t about me this is about the millions of people insulted and belittled by Trump, this is about the hell that will rain down on many black people by Giuliani, this is about the revenge of old white men like Gingrich who once shut down Washington because he couldn’t get a favoured seat on Airforce 1 and once called Obama The Welfare President, this is about clowns like Sarah Palin whose name has been touted for the position of Interior Secretary but who couldn’t hold down the job she was elected to do in Alaska, this is about the fate of this part of the world by a clown soon to be President who thinks climate change is bogus, this is about the health of millions of America at the hands of another clown who once said that “Obamacare” is the worst thing since slavery (millions of slaves turned over in their graves on hearing that and the seas in the Middle Passage boiled up in anger), above all you should realise that one of the quirks exposed in this democracy allows you to have all the power although more than half of the voters were opposed to you.

    Capiche?

    Continue to hail President Trump

Chad…you have no credibilty, you were on here calling the scum Killary all types of liar and dangerous criminal, as soon as Trump wins and she sees her ass maybe being locked up and declares “we need to give Trunpmp the fraud a chance”…because Killary said what you wanted to hear, she is not a liar to you anymore, you want us to now listen to a liar like Clinton.

Chad…you are a weak black man, as I have been saying on here for months…the weakest link in the black race…and a fraud….just like Trump.

Any comment on Mitch slamming the door on term limits which was a message trumpeted by Trump on his campaign?

    @Dee Word

Obama’s main message was to remove gridlock from Washington and building a new economy Builth on new energy.

If anybody could investigte and successfully prosecute Killary Clinton, it would be lowlife Rudy GuilianI…..as attorney general…if any of them actually get appoited to anything.

    “But the damage was done..

And things could get worse. Trump promised on the campaign trail that he would appoint an attorney general who will try to find a way to convict and incarcerate Clinton. And crowds at his rallies have been chanting “Lock her up!” for months. In the second presidential debate, Trump even promised that if he were president, Clinton would be in jail.

His win would be viewed in some quarters as a mandate for more investigation of her foundation and email use.”

  19. WW&D

The only reason I quoted Hillary was that it should matter: if she could accept defeat, then so should others who have less skin in the game. There are so many people on this blog frothing at the mouth because Trump won.
I still think she is a cynical, manipulative liar, lacking in personal accomplishment.

  20. David

You know that Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump are political rivals who barely speak to each other. Not only that: The Senate Majority Leader is privileged with a unique measure of independence, even from the president-elect of his own party. How can you hold Trump responsible for anything Mitch says?

  21. Well Well

Don’t keep your fingers crossed on the possibility of Trump appointing Rudy Giuliani as Attorney General to prosecute Hillary Clinton if grounds does exist regarding her emails. Because just this morning member of Trump’s declared unequivocally on CNN that as time progress the relationship between Clinton and Trump will eventually be restored. The same was also said of Obama regarding Trump, and I have no doubt that this will happen knowing the nature of politics in America.

  22. Well Well & Consequences Avatar
    Well Well & Consequences

Hence the reason nothing Killary says can be believed in part or in whole Chad…..I don’t think people are frothing at the mouth as much as they are looking at the reality of what to expect…some people are just being plain stupid….like this below comment George Payne made because he is a Trump supporter….the inexplicabe stupidity of those who seek to lead Barbados…why in hell’s name would Trump want to deviate from how the US has treated the Caribbean and it’s people for centuries when he is the most hateful president the US has ever seen….and that treatment has worked in the US’ s favor for just as long.

If that is the intellect of a future leader of Barbados…then there really is no hope when this ass Payne is not only accepting of a racist, but how will he ever get the balls to say no to the 5% minority of crooks in Barbados. …whom it appears already owns this dummy.

“At least you have a new man in the White House and you have someone who has never been tested before politically. Notwithstanding how he has been branded, he now has a responsibility to show his true colours and to prove people wrong. So, even if he is a racist he is going to do a lot for people in the Caribbean,” he told Barbados TODAY on the sidelines of the presentation of computer tablets by the Aron and Christina Foundation to students of the A Dacosta Primary in his St Andrew constituency.”

Payne argued that if Clinton had succeeded in becoming the first female US president, there would have been a continuation of what has always transpired in the treatment of small island states by the US.”

  23. @chad99999

Was making the bigger point Trump made a platform promise he will never be able to implement. This is the politics we practice in our democracies.

    A great paradox.

  24. Bill, Hillary, Chuck Schumer and The Donald are all pals who have traded favors in New York.

  25. David

Nobody takes the US party political platforms seriously and they are only of symbolic value. They are not equivalent to the manifestos of the B/DLP.

Most voters don’t even want to know what’s in the platforms and only the most clueless use them in deciding who to vote for.

  26. Well Well,
Are you going to get Guiiiani to further the investigation and prosecution of Trump Foundation and Trump University, and his foreign investments and its dealings with Russian businesses?

  28. @ David

Please get use to the idea that most of these grandiose, irrational, promises by Trump will soon be ‘reinterpreted’ by all manner of spokesmen/women.

But they will have their jobs cut out for them.

There is no way, as practical matters, could his demagoguery be transformed into things a government, as complex and unwieldy as the US government, into policy.

You will wait in anticipation for a monumental let-down. And so will his alt-right people, voters.

  29. Sarge I always vote conservative but I am not panicking that putz got elected by name recognition, because it is a fact of life even when things are good people want change. I have less fear about barbados having gone over the bios of your elites three of the cabinet got 100% in their studies at the university of the west indies….one got 32 one got 33 and one got 35

  30. Sorry I ment our putz ( trudeau)

  31. David November 10, 2016 at 11:53 AM #

The difference between ours and Trump is that he dissapoints on a large scale……he promised in Scotland 6000 jobs and so far after some years only mustered 97 places.
It is time that the sheeple look beyond promises.

  32. What different ways can a prospecting politician use to woo the electorate except to make promises?

  33. Pacha
The Democrat platform called for the rejection of TPP.
Do you seriously believe Hillary would have honoured that promise?
The Republicans always promise to end most forms of abortion and wipe out the fiscal deficit. Have they ever delivered on these?
However, Trump is not a professional politician so you can’t know what he will renege on.

  34. @David re “Obama’s main message was to remove gridlock from Washington and building a new economy Built on new energy.”—-

I wouldn’t say it was his main message but we can agree he failed. However, I would cite your 11:53 and Chad45 12:06 in making the point that the ‘remove gridlock’ talk was pure pie-in-the-sky. There has been absolutely no comity of spirit in US politics since the Reagan days. With Gingrich and his ‘charter’ and before him the Texan Speaker who was subsequently indicted there has been a strong divisive political edge where compromise has been a ‘real’ bad word.

And yes we do practice ‘promise’ politics in our democracies. But the people love in so.

That said it’s impossible to square the circle in Chad’s remarks that “Nobody takes the US party political platforms seriously …Most voters don’t even want to know what’s in the platforms and only the most clueless use them in deciding who to vote for.”.

That’s an indictment that we are all ‘idiots’ and simply vote on personality…which to every apparent instinct is in fact what propelled the last two presidents to office. BUT obviously there is more to it than that.

And just as surely the Dems have a serous electoral problem on their hands going forward. The Republicans will continue to gerrymander the state and congressional legislatures particularly with this exciting mandate they now have.

The other circle that bloggers here need to square relates to the ‘antiquity’ of the Electoral College system or the ‘under majority’ number of persons who vote. Can anyone offer how the system does not PROPERLY capture the tone of the US electorate?

If one looks at the electoral map there is good reason to say that a Republican ethos represents the country as the map is blindly red and book-ended by Dems blue on the coasts.

Is the popular vote then more powerful than the state votes across rural county after rural county! Again not a simple matter to resolve in a few words.

If voters are clueless to determine representation based on a platform then how is one elevated to the Presidency based on a supply-side tax policy, coupled with the antithetical rhetoric of high trade tariff and deregulated health services that would ‘allow’ for example the price of an important allergic drug treatment(EpiPen) to be increased 600% without any review or concern, and of course repeal and replace of the ACA rather than fix the ting ….

… Unless of course it was all about something else!

  35. David November 10, 2016 at 12:47 PM #

Something that was mooted here by Baffy some time ago…..politicians must make a paradigm shift by guarenteeing doable projects with penalties for non delivery….penalties could be a recall after 2 years, criminal charges depending or docking their pay.

  36. @ chad999999999999

We have no dog in this fight, unlike you.

But of course not. Only an idiot would believe Hillary, or Trump for that matter.

We analyse the political environment not based on emotion.

Dompey…you spent you said 30 years in the US, unfortunately you still cannot think like an American, why are you even there….and since you always have to be spoonfed……

If Trump does not deliver on an investigation of the Clinton foundation…the electorate will have proof that he was bullshitting them.

I can see Trump having a field day wuth males like you and Chad and George Payne…..weak men, ready to accept anything, even being re enslaved.

  38. Well Well & Consequences Avatar
    Well Well & Consequences

Alvin…as it stands, Trump has been elected, whether he enters the white house is another story, but the reality is, he has a better chance of investigating Clinton Foundation since the Clintons have known that Trump is a criminal, fraud, tax evader, violent woman abuser etc etc for decades and never had the justice department investigate him….because he is their friend….he is the one claimed he would have Killary imprisoned, the electorate will hold him to that…

Were it up to me….both close friends Trump and Clintons would be investigated, charged and imprisoned.

If I were you I would be more concerned about the jackasses for black males and females in the parliament in Bim that would accept a racist…..which would be putting their own people at risk….this is a different ball game and we all know how weak they all are.

  39. Well Well & Consequences Avatar
    Well Well & Consequences

Lol…I just can’t get over what Geirge Payne said, I had to read it twice more, if that is the calibre of lawyers and leaders on the island…it’s doomed….it’s like in Payne’s little mind, Trump is yet to show his true colors, obviously Payne has not seen and heard enough of Trump’s colors.

I am still trying to understand how Payne figured this out….it’s particularly mindboggling and disturbing and misleading to the people on the island……RACISTS HAVE NEVER BEEN KNOWN TO HELP THE BLACK PEOPLE OR OTHERS THEY HATE….George Payne, if you did not know this before, now you know.

“So, even if he is a racist he is going to do a lot for people in the Caribbean,” he told Barbados TODAY”…….that is according to George Payne…what a retard.

  40. Big girls don’t cry, because NOT crying scares men more than anything.

  41. Just to remind you folks — The Donald out-hustled Lazy, Crooked Hillary.
Imagine, Hillary knew she was in trouble in Iowa and Indiana, but never bothered to visit Wisconsin, and only made it to Detroit and Grand Rapids in Michigan in the final days of her campaign.

She failed to even match Obama’s vote haul in the Midwest, despite spending nearly $200 million in TV advertising, nearly four times what The Donald spent.

    Incredible.

  42. @chad99999

Another tactical error some suggest is that she failed to coopt use Bernie’s appeal to the young voter.
