cahill_flyerA few words to put this project to bed.

Barbadians were told by Ministers Chris Sinckler, Denis Lowe, Prime Minister Stuart and others singing from the same hymn sheet that the Cahill Energy project was the best solution to manage energy from waste (EfW). They peddled the position that plasma gasification is proven technology. What advocates against the Cahill scam have tried to push into their thick skulls is that hitherto there was no plant in the world operating at the same ‘’industrial scale’’ to model the Barbados design. Barbados was being used as a ‘guinea pig’. Luckily for Barbados a relatively small group of Barbadians lead by Kammie Holder of the Future Centre Trust supported by White middleclass Barbados and social media banded together to become strident and effective advocates against the Cahill project.

Why do we opine the Cahill Energy project is dead?

An article appeared in a UK newspaper today (28.04.2016), read it!

  2. Hi David,

    It’s upside down!

Prefer to deflect your question to Bjerkham and co.

Wat was Bjerkham’s role in this fiasco?

He was not the front man (or woman) so was he the middleman or the back man?

The older folk had an answer to this when a person died owing someone money……” De dog dead.”

  8. Does it matter the position front middle or back? He held a position. This was revealed in the Cowan voice note.

  9. If I had my way I would commission Mark Maloney of Hard Rock Cement to design a concrete execution block that doubles as a casket.

For what little these local players know, they might have been playing with international criminals so instead of “de dog dead”, they might send someone to kill the dog.

Is he not on the Central Bank Board?

    Aside with all the above!

Bajans should ‘LOOK’ at the big picture. (1) How a Candidate is chosen for elected Office (2)What other deals have been done and dusted before, in both parties. (3)How the public can be kept informed in future deals. (4) Ministers or the government of BOTH parties should answer to any misdeeds, in or out of office.

The public should insist on greater accountability and where it is proven that a law has been broken, the court must take steps to Fine or Imprisoned or both.

If future men and women cannot be honest with the public,he/she should stay away from public office. The media should be at the forefront to inform and educate where a wrong has been done, without fear .

  12. down with the cahill project up with the new llihac project

  13. @ Paradox
    Well said.

Furthermore, how about the roles that were (not) played by all those others in the House of Assembly who had to have had AT LEAST as much information as was made available on BU ….and who played dumb as ass during the whole affair….
How can we trust them to be honest going forward?

People like Donville, Paul, Lil Hitler, and big-mouth John Boyce…..
DID THEY RAISE QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS….?
    WHEN …AND TO WHOM…?

This is but the tip of the iceberg…..
Everything MUST be investigated and exposed. It all is above board, then there is no harm…

  14. Thank you David. Unfortunately, I will not celebrate until I hear the arrogant proponents among the cabinet and their masters say Cahill WTE is off.

What we have is a loose governance model that allows graft which the BDLP will not fix. The only way we will see change is when the baby boomers for yardfowls and yardducks die out.

A way must be found with the help of international organization such as Global Witness to uncover any offshore accounts or properties owned by high ranking government officials and politicians which cannot be justified by their earnings. For too long Dodds seems only for crop thieves and marijuana smokers.

  15. We have but one Barbados for which we are custodians on behalf of future generations. Let your voices be heard without fear or favor.

  16. You are wrong Kammie

Waiting for AC and her yardfowl-ilk to ‘die out’ is a flawed tactic. Those old wicked types all live longer than most… (they have a lotta suffering to catch up on)

in addition, the very fact that NOT ANOTHER FELLOW in the HoA has so far stood up on PRINCIPLE and denounced the CAHILL shiite tells us that we are ALREADY DOOMED.

If out of THIRTY BBs in that HoA, NOT ONE ASK for RIGHT and justice ….then how are we any better than Sodom and Gomorrah …which at least had Lot….

…and if out of 270,000 BBs we cannot find 20 to lead a change towards righteousness (to LEAD not to talk shiite), then how is this country any better than Sodom?

    Looka…
…a bushman once advised that if a fruit tree does not bear fruit it is best to cut it down…. We better take care that BBE don’t take that bushman’s advice with our donkeys….

  17. @Kammie

The politicians will admit nothing. There is a general election on the horizon and to admit missteps with Cahill project will puncture what political capital exist.

The DLP cannot escape the CAHILL political fiasco, no matter how they try. CAHILL is their creation, the helped with the impregnation and attempted to deliver it. They were hoping to raise it and profit from it.

Remember Chris said in a Budget that CAHILL was a GAME CHANGER and he was right……………….GAME OVER.

Let Impetus and all those gas chambers builders stay out in Europe, best place for them..

Why is Bjerkham in the central bank, which idiots in parliament put him there.

Kammie…there will come a time, I personally think it has arrived, when Global Witness has to be called in.

What the fly by night politicians of DBLP are doing in Barbados re their corruption, collusion and bribetaking with local and foreign business crooks might seem sustainable to them, their pockets and bank accounts, but it’s not sustainable to the vulnerable population.

  20. @Kammie

Bust Tea is correct, Independents and citizen advocates now have to shift to holding MPs accountable, those who did not enter the debate with sensible interventions.

  21. Kammie the Millenials are dying faster than Babay boomers so the point you are trying to make is most ignorant. Aligning yourself with that group od cronie politicians talking about bringing something new is just empty rhetoric. You have been able to bring public awareness to this disaster in the making and kudos for the work well done through your relentlessness. Just don’t be so arrogant and senseless in your comments..

  22. Bitches better have the money they owe the Mob.

  23. Somebody said something about waiting for a certain type to die out.

Well, that objective is not necessarily and only defined by the natural passage of time.

There may well come a time in the affairs of men, the Bajan man and woman, where time is made to pass quicker than at normal times.

There is a little time to attempt to wipe some of the fecal matter from your legacy. It is a difficult undertaking, however, try to respond to a conscience if you have one, try. Then again, there is suppose to be zero morality in politics.

What conscience? It is better that he keep his mouth shut so that his toilet can stop running. He is angry is shite for where is deal has ended up. He should be happy that no politician in Barbados is thoroughly investigated for wrongdoing. I am telling you that his ass would be locked to shite up ever since. Imagine David, a few posters about the truth and there are out in full force trying to capture the SSS.

  34. The posters are quite good. The phrase are a bit long, or youir cpould also make them the pillars with a roof on top of them.

  37. Can anyone share info on the above post? I will not accept that Cahill is over until I hear it from the estimable Prime Minister. The country will soon see if we have demons for politicians. We must be prepared to take necessary steps to protect Barbados from those who would seek to destroy it for their benefactors at the expense of the masses for their own selfish gains.

Boy you, if you got any more ideas tell me now for the next set of posters. Do you not see what the pillows are symbolizing? Now you want houses on top of them? My colleague took 30 mins yesterday to produce that after I gave him the concept, which from what I see, you have to love this type of thing in order to do it. It could be time consuming. What he does I accept. Can you accept that too?

  40. Kammie Holder April 29, 2016 at 11:16 PM #

If Cahill is not over, then Barbados is.

Continuing with Cahill would represent falsity over integrity, idiocy over smarts and right over wrong.

And if that is the unending path, there is only one ending.

  41. You people need to exercise commonsense here. The decision is now with the Chief Town Planner where an EIS would have to approved. How will any actor be able to buy the throw away pieces of a failed EfW plant in the circumstances?

“The decision is now with the Chief Town Planner where an EIS would have to approved.”

No David, the final decision is with the minister responsible for such planning matters.
And you know who that politically conflicted sloth is.
Which do you think his choice would be?
To live up to his much touted manifesto promise of an environmentally sound policy framework or to maintain his stubbornly arrogant support given to the Lowedown (his chief yard-fowl in cabinet) and his cabal of crooks and scammers?

  43. @Miller

Have you heard Chief Town Planner Cummins address the matter? It goes to the PM To overrule. Have you been made aware of a town hall to discuss as stipulated by the town planning laws? We have to stray from the paranoia.

  44. @SSS
Would have tried to make my own, but formatting a table had me in all sorts of trouble. I have to be in the peanut gallery on technical stuff.

One of the recurring themes is a lack of transparency and a lack of communication/ How can a government have so many secrets? All the public hears is ‘deal done’. Talk to the public.

What ‘’town planning laws? Who in Barbados obeys laws other than the small man who is forced to remove his shack or have it forcibly destroyed?

It is not a matter of paranoia but a genuine fear of what the current administration is capable of. Haven’t you seen them break the laws of the land with impunity; especially the important provisions of the Financial Administration & Audit Act?
Why do you think the same minister has ‘suspended’ the workings of the PAC?

Do the likes of Maloney obey laws?
How about Leroy Parris? Has he paid over the tax due on the ‘contrived’ gratuity paid through the Thompson laundry machine?

What about the speaker who carried away a ton from a wheelchair-bound pensioner and was advised by the same minister of planning, not to pay back the monies owed, but to get another thieving lawyer?

There is merit that BOTH major parties when government flouted the financial rules, HRL comes to mind. We have been gripped in a full nelson by a political class hell bent on fulfilling personal aspirations/ambitions.
