I heard a French Commander ,reflecting on the First Indo China War, said that some of the best military tacticians he had ever come across, were the Vietnamese Generals. Information that they did not share with the US Army, who was only too eager to make a blind head long dash into Vietnam, believing that the French had simply legged it out of Vietnam because they were exhausted. And as they say, the rest is history.

  2. @MoneyBrain November 14, 2015 at 11:22 AM “Certainly we should be helping families.”

    Why?

Let in women and children refugees. Nobody else.

Let the women get jobs and raise their children as single mothers as so many of we Bajan women have had to do for many.,.many generations.

And if the women and children don’t want to come to Canada without their husbands and fathers hen they can stay right where they are.

Moneybrain are you getting soft in the head?

    Families what?

  3. @David November 14, 2015 at 9:50 AM…”How can we forget how France treated with Haiti.”

No David. We have not forgotten French brutality.

Nor have we forgotten Arab/Muslim brutality. For hundreds of years those Arab/Muslim slave traders were only too happy to collude with the Europeans and sell our foreparents into slavery.

We know that the Europeans are not our friends.

We know equally that the Arabs/Muslims are not our friends.

In fact we black people know that we have no friends.

  4. […] The leaders of 20 of the world’s largest economies, the G-20, are meeting for the tenth annual G-20 Leaders Summit which begins Sunday, November 15th in the resort city of Antalya, Turkey. The two-day summit which is expected to focus on a myriad of issues, including climate change finance, the global economy, the migrant crisis and the refugee crisis, will likely be overshadowed by the issue of terrorism in light of Friday’s Paris attacks. 5. @Dompey November 14, 2015 at 6:31 PM “I have to ask you this question why is it that we here in the States do not get any news good or bad about Canada.

    Dear Dompey:

Because there is rarely any bad news.
And as everybody who has any sense knows (and that does not include you) good news is not news.

  6. Simple Simon

In fact we black people know we have not friends writes Simple

In fact Sir Arthur Lewis stated in no uncertain terms that in one of his books that the Arab slave trade begun ahead of the European Chattel slavery, but not to the extent of European Chattel slavery. Simple, have you given any thought as to why Nigeria for example is Islamic?

  7. Simpy
Why not help families, many are innocent? We should develop an order as in Christians first, other minorities, family already in Canada etc. Maybe we should be focused on those in Jordan’s camps who were among the first to flee the carnage in Syria.

I appreciate that Bajan women have had to raise children on their own with much success but I am far more concerned that their, Syrian, offspring might turnout like Jamaican’s in Canada.

“A big part of the problem is that the people from the French colonial Empire have not been integrated into French society. Is is as though the French said “yes you can come to France,,,but we will isolate you in those horrible slums on the outskirts of Paris a long, long way from the nice, nice Paris that the tourists see”

You know little of what you speak. I guess you are referring to the varied ethnic and cultural groupings found in the ‘arrondissements’ of Paris.

If you think this is just “France’s ghettoization of her former colonial subjects how then do you explain a similar ethnic and cultural isolationism phenomenon in the UK? How come you do not hear of Francophile sub-Sahara Africans and Caribbean people blowing up Paris?
But before you respond let us find out if there is a quid pro quo approach to multiculturalism in Saudi Arabia, the ancestral home of Islam.

“But like any religious school, Anglican, Catholic, 7th Day Adventists they do teach religion as well.”

Similar crap is spewed from the Madrassas in the UK.

Which “religion” is taught at that Passage Road outlet for brainwashing and propaganda? Are the children taught about the numerous religions that exist on this orb called Earth?

My question to you and your mates who teach at this breeding ground of cultural isolation is whether or not the ‘institution’ is in receipt of State funding.
And if it is in receipt of State funds, don’t you consider it to be a duplication of educational effort and wastage of scarce State resources given the many educational institutions that already exist to service the surrounding communities?

  11. Refugees?? There will be none now, nowhere to go, The borders of the West will be shut to refugees form the ME, until such time as they can ascertain, person by person, that they are ‘clean’.

From a military standpoint, there is no choice.

Instead of being refugees, they must now fight for their country, against the scum who seek to uproot their lives, whether working with ‘foreigners’ or not.

Bottom line, religion is and will always be a destructive force on earth, it’s man-made and packed with all the sins that consumes man, control, greed, envy hate etc. It has always been used as a tool to commit evil, there will be no getting around that truism.

  13. Religion is not the only issue driving terrorism in the world. BU is willing to bet a few of the 8 who committed the atrocity in Paris do not own a Qur’an or know what “Allahu akbar” means.

  14. @ Dompey,

What does it mean when the Bible says the kingdom of God is within you?

The mind sciences and many “new age” type religions and beliefs use this Scripture to say that everyone has God within them. “The kingdom of God is within you,” is interpreted as all of God’s power and truth are built into you.

The word “within in” the Greek is “entos,” which is accurately translated “in the midst of”. So it really should be understood as Jesus saying the Kingdom of God is within your midst, or among you. In other words, wherever Jesus is, it accompanies him. What it does NOT mean is that it resides in everyone.

It does not mean inside man because of whom Jesus was addressing – the Pharisees. They rejected Jesus and his teachings.

Jesus told this same group of Pharisees that rejected him “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do” (John 8:44). [ not all the Pharisees disbelieved, a small portion of them believed Jesus]. Furthermore, Jesus taught one of the Pharisees specifically that to enter the kingdom he must be born again (John 3), to have a spiritual birth, even though he was the teacher to the people of Israel.

Luke 17:20-21 “Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

Jesus made it clear in response to their unbelief “But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.” (Matt 12:28)

In other words it accompanied His person and was made known to them.

Luke 18:25-26 “it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God .” And those who heard it said, “Who then can be saved?”

So it is equated with salvation- found only in Jesus Christ. http://www.letusreason.org

  15. The point coming out of the terror attacks in France and elsewhere in Europe is that the EU is built on the back of allowing freedom of movement. In the Caribbean the so called freedom of movement will bite us some more – Myrie has taken a little bite so far. The issues are all connected and we don’t know it.

  16. Well Well & Consequences Avatar
    Well Well & Consequences

Mankind will use any and all tools to perpetrate control, greed, envy, hate without caring that hundreds of thousands of years later, they still don’t have the answers because they are not looking for any outside of what has been practiced throughout millenia. It’s all about the immediate goals of containing self-preservation through their practices. Europe knows exactly what they are doing. The Caribbean…not so much.

  17. I have yet to see people in this freedom of movement game want to get into the poorer countries .But I guess it is all relevant if you are from Angola , Burundi might look good. The only reason us whites are taking in refugees is because we baby boomers are all retiring and if we don’t know who is going to pay for our pensions and wipe our asses at the old age home. So don’t think for one minute that these radical islamists haven’t been factored into to the calculation of at what point do we stop the movement we have enough people to take us through the next retirement cycle.

Tell them Lawson…..the same practices have worked through the ages, they will be thinking, “so there are a few hiccups, no biggie, no need to change anything and besides why change now, particularly since it’s still not in our best interest.”

  19. @Hants

I watched alil bit but stopped after the end of the first innings.

  20. Freedom of movement is bulit around a formula of inclusion a worthwhile formula that discourages and neutralizes negative perceptions be that of color race or creed
This new trend of thought by some intellectuals here on BU or maybe within the carribbean Basin that Freedom of movement is a catalyst which encourages terrorism is nonsense and unfounded with out statistical proof,
The fact being that Terrorism is an act birth and breed out of govt policies that sway invariably in a directions with out equality or balance and which the terrorist seize as guide to dilute or disintegrate with catastrophic endings

  21. AC you pin head, if you don’t think someone hasn’t done a risk management assessment on the state of our lifestyle and how we are going to keep it your kidding yourself. Why on earth did Germany want so many, because it is simple economics more people are dying than births or retiring than entering the work force. Yeah we really care about negative perceptions lol, just get here fast so I can retire early. There may even be a job for a party hack with no real skills and a utopic idea of the world we live in like yourself oops sorry that is taken for the next 4 years

  22. Watch this video on Youtube—–The Truth About The Paris Terrorist Attack.

    Interesting!

  23. Where did AC get that white man mask

  24. Lawson what de hell are talking about and how do you interject your logic with a cross reference to translating my comment
In this case your are the PINHEAD with a enormous head the size of Germany, Now go back to your respective place and look for a small measure of understanding and wheel and come again JA

  25. ”David November 15, 2015 at 7:22 AM # …. BU is willing to bet a few of the 8 who committed the atrocity in Paris do not own a Qur’an or know what “Allahu akbar” means.”

Probably, More fool them in any case. Hell will freeze over before anyone thinking blows themselves up because some jackass in a robe tell one too.

  26. We must stop with the Western propaganda. Stop it. I do not take a position on the ongoing war between the West and Islam. Personally, I prefer to live in the West but I acknowledge that a corrupt lifestyle, celebration of homosexuality, abortion for convenience, and radical feminism is not for everyone. Today, the West is bombing ISIS unmercifully. Should these people just suck it up and die? No. They will strike back. And when they strike back they will try to get even by killing as many as they can because they are taking huge casualties themselves. Their actions are no more a “crime against humanity” than Western bombing.

  27. If there are any more terrorist attacks in France, or anywhere for that matter, things will become difficult for ME immigrants in the West, in more ways than one.

  28. @Crusoe

Agree it is a very complex issue and will undermine freedom of movement. We have witnessed how 911 changed international travel, same with Paris attacks.

  29. @ac
I have to admit, you do sound like a pinhead. Freedom of movement is a very bad idea. It spreads disease we do not have the resources to address — think of African viruses (and now Jamaica is getting hit with a virus from Brazil)–and it will eventually lead to the marginalization of the black population in one Caribbean island after another, because the East Indians (“Vote for your own”) have much higher fertility rates.

It’s not the white man’s mask, it’s the yardfowl’s mask that can be applied to any given situation, any topic, any idiocy…lol

When U live in PARADISE then it makes it very difficult to strap on explosive devices.

  32. Chad99999

It is your position that freedom of movement spreads disease, so what ought we to do -living in a perpetual fear because we do not have the necessary resources to deal with such an eventuality? I don’t think so brother.

Globalization is its modern context aims to eliminate borders, and encourage freedom of movement, and this in of itself is good for our human development despite the many risks we face.

You sound more like the archetypal coward who fears the idea of dying, so he deserts the battlefield, not knowing that he can have easily die by simply walking up the steps to his home.

  33. @Dompey wrote ” It is your position that freedom of movement spreads disease, so what ought .

Theory? Who brought small pox to the Americas? How did SARS arrive in Canada? Domps man U have to be cleverer than that?

  34. Exclaimer

    Sad indeed.

  35. Moneybrain

Brains, you ought to remember that the European colonialists, brought they diseases to the New World and almost decimated the native populations, but that did not stopped them from coming brother.

Nevertheless, you ought to know by now Brains that Dompey is well read, if you haven’t realize this as of yet too bad?

The french have always been beasts, their forays into Africa were always brutal beyond measure, only equalled in brutality by the Belgians, Dutch, British and Germans. They have always been vicious and beastly to other people….savages.

  37. Dompy the point is not Theory it is reality.

  38. Have the French raised White Flags yet?

  39. Well Well

“The French have always been beast Well Well writes”

Well Well, I am not quite sure where you have ascertained your historical facts because the historical record does not support your findings regarding the exploits of the French?

The historical record suggested that out of all of the European Colonialist Powers, the French were the most humane to the native populations, even going as far as to cohabited as well as to conjugated with the native populations.

Underage boys and girls included. How could you call France’s
main cut throats and “trouble shooters”, the Foreign Legion , humane ? A formation which is mainly made up of murders, rapists, thieves, child molesters and ever other criminal running away from the law ,all across the world, and given a safe haven in the French Army. They were deemed so evil at one time, that any serving member of the Foreign Legion who was caught in mainland France was immediately jailed. There was very little difference between the French Foreign Legion and today’s terrorists.

  41. Well Well

The Russians were probably the only colonialist power with a historical record devoid of the animalistic treatment of the native population because their were the last colonialist power to have gotten into the game.

  42. What is the relevance to the issue at discussion? How is it helping to have an educated discussion about the threat of terrorism everywhere?

    Honestly!

  43. So what you are saying is dompey that Frenchmen are lovers not fighters? Look as soon as the word ebola was mentioned borders were shut especially the ones closest to the outbreak …the prudent thing to do. Just like it would be the prudent thing to check out refugees before you bring them in to a country something our naïve leader seems to want to ignore . Even when the aids virus was running amok in the gay community dompey you probably shut your door for a while

Dompey….you do need history lessons, I told you a couple years ago that New York City public libraries have all the information you will ever need re history and you ignored me, therefore you are still too uninformed about most things important.

As recent as either 2005-8 some french demons went into one of the African states, quite a lot of them still speak French from the days of colonization, they were still kidnapping black kids and taking them to France to be enslaved, those were the ones who were caught, unfortunately, there are still very weak black leaders in Africa, just like you still find in the Caribbean.

There is a NY public library in brooklyn close to empire boulevard and more than enough branches in Manhattan…..Dompey.

Where did African Americans entertainers go when the land of liberty refused to acknowledge them as even subhuman… I hope your studies at the library in Manhattan NY led you to concluded French?
